Let Xf(∥x-θ2) and let δπ(X) be the generalized Bayes estimator of θ with respect to a spherically symmetric prior, π(∥θ2), for loss ∥δ-θ2. We show that if π(t) is superharmonic, non-increasing, and has a non-decreasing Laplacian, then the generalized Bayes estimator is minimax and dominates the usual minimax estimator δ0(X)=X under certain conditions on . The class of priors includes priors of the form for and hence includes the fundamental harmonic prior . The class of sampling distributions includes certain variance mixtures of normals and other functions f(t) of the form e-αtβ and e-αt+βφ(t) which are not mixtures of normals. The proofs do not rely on boundness or monotonicity of the function r(t) in the representation of the Bayes estimator as .  相似文献

In this note, we show that, if the Druzkowski mappings F(X)=X+(AX)∗3, i.e. F(X)=(x1+(a11x1+?+a1nxn)3,…,xn+(an1x1+?+annxn)3), satisfies TrJ((AX)∗3)=0, then where δ is the number of diagonal elements of A which are equal to zero. Furthermore, we show the Jacobian Conjecture is true for the Druzkowski mappings in dimension ?9 in the case .  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to investigate a very useful application of a certain local dependence function γf(x,y), which was considered recently by Holland and Wang [20]. An interesting property of γf(x,y) is that the underlying joint density f(x,y) is TP2 (that is, totally positive of order 2) if and only if . This gives an elegant way to investigate the TP2 property of any bivariate distribution. For the Saramanov family, the Ali-Mikhail-Haq family of bivariate distributions and the family of bivariate elliptical distributions, we derive the local dependence function and obtain conditions for f(x,y) to be TP2. These families are quite rich and include many other large classes of bivariate distributions as their special cases. Similar conditions are obtained for bivariate distributions with exponential conditionals and bivariate distributions with Pareto conditionals.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to prove the existence of a unique, classical solution to the nonlinear elliptic partial differential equation −∇⋅(a(u(x))∇u(x))=f(x) under periodic boundary conditions, where u(x0)=u0 at x0Ω, with Ω=TN, the N-dimensional torus, and N=2,3. The function a is assumed to be smooth, and a(u(x))>0 for , where GR is a bounded interval. We prove that if the functions f and a satisfy certain conditions, then a unique classical solution u exists. The range of the solution u is a subset of a specified interval . Applications of this work include stationary heat/diffusion problems with a source/sink, where the value of the solution is known at a spatial location x0.  相似文献

It is well known that a mapping is convergence preserving, that is, whenever an infinite series ∑an converges, the series ∑φ(an) converges, if and only if there exists mR such that φ(x)=mx in some neighborhood of 0. We explore convergence preserving mappings on Hausdorff topological groups, showing in particular, that if G×G is a Fréchet group, and H has no small subgroups, then a mapping is convergence preserving if and only if there is a neighborhood of the identity in G on which φ is a sequentially continuous homomorphism.  相似文献

Assume that and are uniformly continuous functions, where D1,D2X are nonempty open and arc-connected subsets of a real normed space X. We prove that then either f and g are affine functions, that is f(x)=x(x)+a and g(x)=x(x)+b with some xX and a,bR or the algebraic sum of graphs of functions f and g has a nonempty interior in a product space X×R treated as a normed space with a norm .  相似文献

Let X be a reduced connected k-scheme pointed at a rational point xX(k). By using tannakian techniques we construct the Galois closure of an essentially finite k-morphism f:YX satisfying the condition H0(Y,OY)=k; this Galois closure is a torsor dominating f by an X-morphism and universal for this property. Moreover, we show that is a torsor under some finite group scheme we describe. Furthermore we prove that the direct image of an essentially finite vector bundle over Y is still an essentially finite vector bundle over X. We develop for torsors and essentially finite morphisms a Galois correspondence similar to the usual one. As an application we show that for any pointed torsor f:YX under a finite group scheme satisfying the condition H0(Y,OY)=k, Y has a fundamental group scheme π1(Y,y) fitting in a short exact sequence with π1(X,x).  相似文献

This paper considers the generalized growth curve model subject to R(Xm)⊆R(Xm-1)⊆?⊆R(X1), where Bi are the matrices of unknown regression coefficients, Xi,Zi and U are known covariate matrices, i=1,2,…,m, and E splits into a number of independently and identically distributed subvectors with mean zero and unknown covariance matrix Σ. An unbiased invariant minimum norm quadratic estimator (MINQE(U,I)) of tr(CΣ) is derived and the conditions for its optimality under the minimum variance criterion are investigated. The necessary and sufficient conditions for MINQE(U,I) of tr(CΣ) to be a uniformly minimum variance invariant quadratic unbiased estimator (UMVIQUE) are obtained. An unbiased invariant minimum norm quadratic plus linear estimator (MINQLE(U,I)) of is also given. To compare with the existing maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) of tr(CΣ), we conduct some simulation studies which show that our proposed estimator performs very well.  相似文献

For a commutative ring R with zero-divisors Z(R), the zero-divisor graph of R is Γ(R)=Z(R)−{0}, with distinct vertices x and y adjacent if and only if xy=0. In this paper, we characterize when either or . We then use these results to investigate the diameter and girth for the zero-divisor graphs of polynomial rings, power series rings, and idealizations.  相似文献

Consider the generalized growth curve model subject to R(Xm)⊆?⊆R(X1), where Bi are the matrices of unknown regression coefficients, and E=(ε1,…,εs) and are independent and identically distributed with the same first four moments as a random vector normally distributed with mean zero and covariance matrix Σ. We derive the necessary and sufficient conditions under which the uniformly minimum variance nonnegative quadratic unbiased estimator (UMVNNQUE) of the parametric function with C≥0 exists. The necessary and sufficient conditions for a nonnegative quadratic unbiased estimator with of to be the UMVNNQUE are obtained as well.  相似文献

The notion of a modular is introduced as follows. A (metric) modular on a set X is a function w:(0,X×X→[0,] satisfying, for all x,y,zX, the following three properties: x=y if and only if w(λ,x,y)=0 for all λ>0; w(λ,x,y)=w(λ,y,x) for all λ>0; w(λ+μ,x,y)≤w(λ,x,z)+w(μ,y,z) for all λ,μ>0. We show that, given x0X, the set Xw={xX:limλw(λ,x,x0)=0} is a metric space with metric , called a modular space. The modular w is said to be convex if (λ,x,y)?λw(λ,x,y) is also a modular on X. In this case Xw coincides with the set of all xX such that w(λ,x,x0)< for some λ=λ(x)>0 and is metrizable by . Moreover, if or , then ; otherwise, the reverse inequalities hold. We develop the theory of metric spaces, generated by modulars, and extend the results by H. Nakano, J. Musielak, W. Orlicz, Ph. Turpin and others for modulars on linear spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we characterize the global minimum of an arbitrary function defined on a Banach space, in terms of a new concept of derivatives adapted for our case from a recent work due to D.J. Keckic (J. Operator Theory, submitted for publication). Using these results we establish several new characterizations of the global minimum of the map defined by Fψ(X)=‖ψ(X)‖1, where is a map defined by ψ(X)=S+φ(X) and φ:B(H)→B(H) is a linear map, SC1, and . Further, we apply these results to characterize the operators which are orthogonal to the range of elementary operators.  相似文献

Let u(t,x) be the solution of the heat equation (∂tx)u(t,x)=0 on subject to u(0,x)=f(x) on Rn. The main goal of this paper is to characterize such a nonnegative measure μ on that f(x)?u(t2,x) induces a bounded embedding from the Sobolev space , p∈[1,n) into the Lebesgue space , q∈(0,∞).  相似文献

In this paper we introduce a new geometry constant D(X) to give a quantitative characterization of the difference between Birkhoff orthogonality and isosceles orthogonality. We show that 1 and is the upper and lower bound for D(X), respectively, and characterize the spaces of which D(X) attains the upper and lower bounds. We calculate D(X) when X=(R2,‖⋅p) and when X is a symmetric Minkowski plane respectively, we show that when X is a symmetric Minkowski plane D(X)=D(X).  相似文献

We show the existence of entire explosive positive radial solutions for quasilinear elliptic systems div(|∇u|m−2u)=p(|x|)g(v), div(|∇v|n−2v)=q(|x|)f(u) on , where f and g are positive and non-decreasing functions on (0,∞) satisfying the Keller-Osserman condition.  相似文献
