We study the boundary value problem −div(log(1+q|∇u|)|∇u|p−2u)=f(u) in Ω, u=0 on ∂Ω, where Ω is a bounded domain in RN with smooth boundary. We distinguish the cases where either f(u)=−λ|u|p−2u+|u|r−2u or f(u)=λ|u|p−2u−|u|r−2u, with p, q>1, p+q<min{N,r}, and r<(NpN+p)/(Np). In the first case we show the existence of infinitely many weak solutions for any λ>0. In the second case we prove the existence of a nontrivial weak solution if λ is sufficiently large. Our approach relies on adequate variational methods in Orlicz-Sobolev spaces.  相似文献

We generalize a previous result of Ikehata (Math. Methods Appl. Sci., in press), which studies the critical exponent problem of a semilinear damped wave equation in the one-dimensional half space, to the general N-dimensional half space case. That is to say, one can show the small data global existence of solutions of a mixed problem for the equation uttΔu+ut=|u|p with the power p satisfying p∗(N)=1+2/(N+1)<p?N/[N−2]+ if we deal with the problem in the N-dimensional half space.  相似文献

We investigate the existence of nonnegative weak solutions to the problem ut=Δ(um)−p|∇u| in Rn×(0,∞) with +(1−2/n)<m<1. It will be proved that: (i) When 1<p<2, if the initial datum u0D(Rn) then there exists a solution; (ii) When 1<p<(2+mn)/(n+1), if the initial datum u0(x) is a bounded and nonnegative measure then the solution exists; (iii) When (2+mn)/(n+1)?p<2, if the initial datum is a Dirac mass then the solution does not exist. We also study the large time behavior of the L1-norm of solutions for 1<p?(2+mn)/(n+1), and the large time behavior of t1/βu(⋅,t)−Ec(⋅,t)L for (2+mn)/(n+1)<p<2.  相似文献

We study the problem of removability of isolated singularities for a general second-order quasi-linear equation in divergence form −divA(x,u,∇u)+a0(x,u)+g(x,u)=0 in a punctured domain Ω?{0}, where Ω is a domain in Rn, n?3. The model example is the equation −Δpu+gu|u|p−2+u|u|q−1=0, q>p−1>0, p<n. Assuming that the lower-order terms satisfy certain non-linear Kato-type conditions, we prove that for all point singularities of the above equation are removable, thus extending the seminal result of Brezis and Véron.  相似文献

We consider two dimensional exterior mixed problems for a semilinear damped wave equation with a power type nonlinearity p|u|. For compactly supported initial data, which have a small energy we shall derive global in time existence results in the case when the power of the nonlinearity satisfies 2<p<+∞. This generalizes a previous result of [J. Differential Equations 200 (2004) 53-68], which dealt with a radially symmetric solution.  相似文献

Consider the initial boundary value problem for the linear dissipative wave equation (□+t)u=0 in an exterior domain . Using the so-called cut-off method together with local energy decay and L2 decays in the whole space, we study decay estimates of the solutions. In particular, when N?3, we derive Lp decays with p?1 of the solutions. Next, as an application of the decay estimates for the linear equation, we consider the global solvability problem for the semilinear dissipative wave equations (□+t)u=f(u) with f(u)=|u|α+1,|u|αu in an exterior domain.  相似文献

Let be a continuous function such that H(p)→H0R as |p|→+∞. Fixing a domain Ω in R2 we study the behaviour of a sequence (un) of approximate solutions to the H-system Δu=2H(u)uxuy in Ω. Assuming that suppR3|(H(p)−H0)p|<1, we show that the weak limit of the sequence (un) solves the H-system and unu strongly in H1 apart from a countable set S made by isolated points. Moreover, if in addition H(p)=H0+o(1/|p|) as |p|→+∞, then in correspondence of each point of S we prove that the sequence (un) blows either an H-bubble or an H0-sphere.  相似文献

The existence of local (in time) solutions of the initial-boundary value problem for the following degenerate parabolic equation: ut(x,t)−Δpu(x,t)−|u|q−2u(x,t)=f(x,t), (x,t)∈Ω×(0,T), where 2?p<q<+∞, Ω is a bounded domain in RN, is given and Δp denotes the so-called p-Laplacian defined by Δpu:=∇⋅(|∇u|p−2u), with initial data u0Lr(Ω) is proved under r>N(qp)/p without imposing any smallness on u0 and f. To this end, the above problem is reduced into the Cauchy problem for an evolution equation governed by the difference of two subdifferential operators in a reflexive Banach space, and the theory of subdifferential operators and potential well method are employed to establish energy estimates. Particularly, Lr-estimates of solutions play a crucial role to construct a time-local solution and reveal the dependence of the time interval [0,T0] in which the problem admits a solution. In this paper we study the critical exponents of the Cauchy problem in Rn of the quasilinear singular parabolic equations: ut = div(|∇u|m − 1u) + ts|x|σup, with non-negative initial data. Here s ≥ 0, (n − 1)/(n + 1) < m < 1, p > 1 and σ > n(1 − m) − (1 + m + 2s). We prove that pc ≡ m + (1 + m + 2s + σ)/n > 1 is the critical exponent. That is, if 1 < p ≤ pc then every non-trivial solution blows up in finite time, but for p > pc, a small positive global solution exists.  相似文献

Based on a new a priori estimate method, so-called asymptotic a priori estimate, the existence of a global attractor is proved for the wave equation utt+kg(ut)−Δu+f(u)=0 on a bounded domain ΩR3 with Dirichlet boundary conditions. The nonlinear damping term g is supposed to satisfy the growth condition C1(|s|−C2)?|g(s)|?C3(1+p|s|), where 1?p<5; the damping parameter is arbitrary; the nonlinear term f is supposed to satisfy the growth condition |f(s)|?C4(1+q|s|), where q?2. It is remarkable that when 2<p<5, we positively answer an open problem in Chueshov and Lasiecka [I. Chueshov, I. Lasiecka, Long-time behavior of second evolution equations with nonlinear damping, Math. Scuola Norm. Sup. (2004)] and improve the corresponding results in Feireisl [E. Feireisl, Global attractors for damped wave equations with supercritical exponent, J. Differential Equations 116 (1995) 431-447].  相似文献

For a strong solution u(x,t) of the Navier-Stokes equations in exterior domain Ω in Rn where n=2,3, we study the time decay of ‖α|x|u(t)Lp for α<n. When a domain has a boundary, pressure term makes an obstacle since we do not have enough information on the pressure term near the boundary. To overcome the difficulty, we adopt the ideas in [H.-O. Bae, B.J. Jin, Temporal and spatial decay rates of Navier-Stokes solutions in exterior domains, Bull. Korean Math. Soc. 44 (3) (2007) 547-567; H.-O. Bae, B.J. Jin, Asymptotic behavior for the Navier-Stokes solutions in 2D exterior domains, J. Funct. Anal. 240 (2006) 508-529] and we will extend Bae and Jin's results by modifying their methods.  相似文献

We study entire solutions of non-homogeneous quasilinear elliptic equations, with Eqs. (1) and (2) below being typical. A particular special case of interest is the following: Let u be an entire distribution solution of the equation Δpu=|u|q−1u, where p>1. If q>p−1 then u≡0. On the other hand, if 0<q<p−1 and u(x)=o(|x|p/(pq−1)) as |x|→∞, then again u≡0. If q=p−1 then u≡0 for all solutions with at most algebraic growth at infinity.  相似文献

This paper concerns the blow-up of solutions to utt−Δu=|u|p in high dimensions for n?4 and 1<p<p0(n), where p0(n) is a critical exponent. We proved that the solutions blow up in finite time by estimating the solutions near the wave front using elementary inequalities.  相似文献

In this paper we study the uniqueness and nondegeneracy of positive solutions of nonlinear problems of the type Δpu+f(r,u)=0 in the unit ball B, u=0 on ∂B. Here Δp denotes the p Laplace operator Δp=div(|∇u|p−2u), p>1. The main ideas rely on the Maximum Principle and an implicit function theorem that we derive in a suitable weighted space. In this paper, we study the existence and the uniqueness of positive solution for the sublinear elliptic equation, −Δu+u=p|u|sgn(u)+f in RN, N?3, 0<p<1, fL2(RN), f>0 a.e. in RN. We show by applying a minimizing method on the Nehari manifold that this problem has a unique positive solution in H1(RN)∩Lp+1(RN). The existence of a -global attractor is proved for the p-Laplacian equation ut−div(|∇u|p−2u)+f(u)=g on a bounded domain ΩRn(n?3) with Dirichlet boundary condition, where p?2. The nonlinear term f is supposed to satisfy the polynomial growth condition of arbitrary order c1q|u|−k?f(u)u?c2q|u|+k and f(u)?−l, where q?2 is arbitrary. There is no other restriction on p and q.
