The facile deposition of para-substituted aryl films onto indium-tin oxide (ITO) electrodes by the electrochemical reduction of aryl diazonium salts in acetonitrile is reported. For the deposition conditions used in this report, the aryl film thicknesses are on the order of 1-6 nm, suggesting a multilayer structure. Regardless of the functional group on the aryl diazonium cation, (NO(2), CO(2)H, or fluorene) the electrodeposition behavior onto ITO electrodes is similar to that seen on other electrode materials. XPS and UV-vis data support the introduction of organic functional surface groups to ITO. The blocking behavior of the aryl films on ITO toward the Ru(NH(3))(6)(3+/2+) redox couple is in agreement with electron transfer through conjugated organic layers. The facile preparation of patterned aryl films with regular-spaced 700 nm voids on ITO is also described. Atomic force microscopy and scanning surface potential microscopy on patterned NO(2) aryl films are used to assess the molecular structure and orientation. A 100 mV decrease in the contact potential over NO(2) aryl films relative to bare ITO suggests that the aryl films are loosely structured as deposited with the NO(2) groups oriented at a small angle away from the ITO surface.  相似文献

Several borondipyrromethene (Bodipy) dyes bearing an aryl nucleus linked directly to the boron center have been prepared under mild conditions. The choice of Grignard or lithio organo-metallic reagents allows the isolation of B(F)(aryl) or B(aryl)2 derivatives; where aryl refers to phenyl, anisyl, naphthyl, or pyrenyl fragments. A single crystal, X-ray structure determination for the bis-anisyl compound shows that the sp3 hybridized boron center remains pseudo-tetrahedral and that the B-C bond distances are 1.615 and 1.636 A. All compounds are electrode active but replacement of the fluorine atoms by aryl fragments renders the Bodipy unit more easily oxidized by 100 mV in the B(F)(aryl) and 180 mV in the B(aryl)2 compounds whereas reduction is made more difficult by a comparable amount. Strong fluorescence is observed from the Bodipy fluorophore present in each of the new dyes, with the radiative rate constant being independent of the nature of the aryl substituent. The fluorescence quantum yields are solvent dependent and, at least in some cases (aryl = anisyl or pyrenyl), nonradiative decay from the first-excited singlet state is strongly activated. There is no indication, however, for population of a charge-transfer state, in which the aryl substituent acts as donor and the Bodipy fragment functions as acceptor, that is strongly coupled to the ground state. Instead, it is conjectured that nonradiative decay involves a conformational change driven by the solvophobic effect. Thus, the rate of nonradiative decay in any given solvent increases with increasing surface accessibility (or molar volume) of the aryl substituent. Intramolecular energy transfer from pyrene or naphthalene residues to Bodipy is quantitative.  相似文献

We report here a fast, easy, and efficient method for the preparation of aryl nitriles from aryl bromides and chlorides. The methodology for aryl bromides involves the use of either Ni(CN)(2) or NaCN and NiBr(2). With aryl chlorides, a mix of NaCN and NiBr(2) is used and the reaction proceeds via the in situ formation of the corresponding aryl bromide. The reaction can be performed in air and is complete within 10 min.  相似文献

A versatile method for the synthesis of aryl perfluoroalkanes from arenes and aryl bromides is described. Substituted arenes or aryl bromides are converted in situ to an aryl boronate ester that readily undergoes perfluoroalkylation in air with [(phen)CuR(F)]. A broad range of aryl bromide substrates were perfluoroalkylated in good yield for the first time. [(phen)CuCF(3)] is now commercially available and has been prepared on 20?g scale.  相似文献

Mild palladium-catalyzed aminations of aryl tosylates and the first aminations of heteroaryl tosylates are described. In the presence of the combination of L2Pd(0) (L = P(o-tol)3) and the hindered Josiphos ligand CyPF-t-Bu, a variety of primary alkylamines and arylamines react with both aryl and heteroaryl tosylates at room temperature to form the corresponding secondary arylamines in high yields with complete selectivity for the monoarylamine. These reactions at room temperature occur in many cases with catalyst loadings of 0.1 mol % and 0.01 mol % in one case, constituting the most efficient aminations of aryl tosylates by nearly 2 orders of magnitude. This catalyst is made practical by the development of a convenient method to synthesize the L2Pd(0) precursor. This complex is stable to air as a solid. In contrast to conventional relative rates for reactions of aryl sulfonates, the reactions of aryl tosylates are faster than parallel reactions of aryl triflates, and the reactions of aryl tosylates are faster than parallel or competitive reactions of aryl chlorides.  相似文献

A method to rapidly diversify the molecules formed in organic crystals is introduced, with aryl nitriles playing a novel dual role as both hydrogen-bond acceptors and modifiable organic groups. The discovery of coexisting supramolecular synthons in the same crystal is also described. The general concept is demonstrated by using a bis(aryl nitrile) alkene that undergoes a hydrogen-bond-directed intermolecular [2+2] photodimerization to form a tetra(aryl nitrile)cyclobutane. The product is readily converted by click reactivity to a tetra(aryl tetrazole) and by hydrolysis to a tetra(aryl carboxylic acid). The integration of aryl nitriles into solid-state reactions opens broad avenues to post-modify products formed in crystalline solids for rapid diversification.  相似文献

Coupling reactions of α-chloroesters with aryl halides (α-arylation) or carbonyl compounds (Reformatsky) using nickel catalyst allow, under mild conditions, the preparation of various functionalized aryl propionic acid derivatives or β-hydroxyesters. The Pd(0)-catalyzed reaction of aryl halides with tri(2-furyl)germane provides aryltri(2-furyl)germanes in good yield. The cross-coupling reaction of aryltri(2-furyl)germanes with aryl halides is achieved. This allows facile synthesis of unsymmetrical biaryls from two different aryl halides.  相似文献

Monomeric, three-coordinate arylpalladium(II) halide complexes undergo reductive elimination of aryl halide to form free haloarene and Pd(0). Reductive elimination of aryl chlorides, bromides, and iodides were observed upon the addition of P(t-Bu)3 to Pd[P(t-Bu)3](Ar)(X) (X = Cl, Br, I). Conditions to observe the equilibrium between reductive elimination and oxidative addition were established with five haloarenes. Reductive elimination of aryl chloride was most favored thermodynamically, and elimination of aryl iodide was the least favored. However, reductive elimination from the aryl chloride complex was the slowest, and reductive elimination from the aryl bromide complex was the fastest. These data show that the electronic properties of the halide, not the thermodynamic driving force for the addition of elimination reaction, control the rates for addition and elimination of haloarenes. Mechanistic data suggest that reversible reductive elimination of aryl bromide to form Pd[P(t-Bu)3] and free aryl bromide is followed by rate-limiting coordination of P(t-Bu)3 to form Pd[P(t-Bu)3]2.  相似文献

The scope of the palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction of aryl bis(catechol) silicates has been extended to include the coupling of aryl bromides by employing microwave irradiation. This new set of coupling conditions is tolerant of electron-rich and -deficient aryl bromides. Aryl methyl ethers, methyl esters, aryl esters, and aryl sulfonates are chemoselectively deprotected under nonhydrolytic conditions by treatment with Ph(2)S(2) (0.6 equiv) and Na (1.6 equiv) in NMP under reflux or at 90 degrees C. Quantitative utilization of the 'PhS' moiety as the effective nucleophilic species represents conservation of atom economy. Other solvents such as HMPA, DMPU, DMEU, and DMF afforded comparable results. Chloro, nitro, aldehyde, alpha,alpha-diketone, and alpha,beta-unsaturated ketone functionalities remain unaffected. The deprotection was found to take place in the order aryl ester > alkyl ester > aryl alkyl ether. Substrates bearing strong electron-withdrawing groups react at a faster rate than those not having such substitution. The differences in rate of reaction has been exploited for selective deprotection for intramolecular competition. An aryl acetate/benzoate is deprotected selectively in preference to a methyl ester or aryl methyl ether. Selective deprotection of a methyl ester is observed in the presence of an aryl alkyl ether.  相似文献

The thermal decomposition of arylmethylbis(triethylphosphine)nickel(II), ArNiMeL2, is studied in hydrocarbon solutions, both in the presence and absence of aryl halide. The direct thermolysis affords methylarenes without aryl scrambling, by first-order kinetics. The inverse phosphine dependence of the rate is related to a dissociative mechanism proceeding via reductive elimination directly from the coordinatively unsaturated ArNiMeL intermediate. In contrast, the reductive elimination of methylarene induced by aryl halide is a radical chain process in which there is extensive scrambling of aryl groups, consistent with paramagnetic nickel(I) and nickel(III) species, and not aryl radicals, as reactive intermediates. The induced reductive elimination is a significantly more facile process than direct thermolysis. However, the relative contributions from these pathways in the reductive elimination of ArNiMeL2 can be deliberately manipulated by additives (inhibitors and promoters) which control the induction period relating the generation of nickel(I, III) intermediates required for chain initiation. The radical chain mechanism for the formation of carboncarbon bonds by reductive elimination in this system is essentially the same as that previously deduced for aryl coupling to biaryls from arylhalonickel(II) and aryl halides.  相似文献

Pd/P(t-Bu)(3) serves as an unusually reactive catalyst for Stille reactions of aryl chlorides and bromides, providing solutions to a number of long-standing challenges. An unprecedented array of aryl chlorides can be cross-coupled with a range of organotin reagents, including SnBu(4). Very hindered biaryls (e.g., tetra-ortho-substituted) can be synthesized, and aryl chlorides can be coupled in the presence of aryl triflates. The method is user-friendly, since a commercially available complex, Pd(P(t-Bu)(3))(2), is effective. Pd/P(t-Bu)(3) also functions as an active catalyst for Stille reactions of aryl bromides, furnishing the first general method for room-temperature cross-couplings.  相似文献

The palladium-catalyzed arylation of alpha,alpha-disubstituted arylmethanols with aryl halides proceeds not only via C-H bond cleavage at the ortho-position, but also via cleavage of the sp(2)-sp(3) C-C bond with the liberation of ketones (beta-carbon elimination) to give the corresponding biaryls. Both reactions appear to occur through common arylpalladium(II) alcoholate intermediates. The results of systematic studies with respect to which C-C or C-H bond is preferentially cleaved in the arylation are reported. Among the important findings is the selective elimination of ortho-substituted aryl groups even from aryl(diphenyl)methanols due to steric reasons. Thus, various biaryls having ortho-substituents can be produced efficiently by treatment of the corresponding aryl(diphenyl or dimethyl)methanols with aryl bromides and chlorides.  相似文献

The first use of iron pentacarbonyl is described for the novel and efficient conversion of aryl iodides, bromides and chlorides into their corresponding aryl aldehydes and/or aryl deuterated aldehydes. The reaction is catalysed with Pd(0) in aqueous N,N‐dimethylformamide at atmospheric pressure. In this protocol, neither gaseous hydrogen nor any reducing agent is required for the formation of the carbonylated product. The reaction can be performed without a P(III) ligand for aryl iodides; however, employing a P(III) ligand is necessary to perform the reaction with aryl bromides and chlorides. The first general method for the palladium-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura and carbonyl enolate coupling of unactivated aryl arenesulfonates was developed utilizing XPhos, 1, and Pd(OAc)2. This is of significant interest because aryl tosylates and aryl benzenesulfonates are more easily handled and considerably less expensive than aryl triflates. This catalyst system effects the coupling of a variety of aryl, heteroaryl, and extremely hindered arylboronic acids with different aryl tosylates, under mild conditions. The same catalyst was employed in the first carbonyl enolate coupling of aryl arensulfonates.  相似文献

A mechanistic investigation of the Pd-catalyzed conversion of aryl triflates to fluorides is presented. Studies reveal that C-F reductive elimination from a LPd(II)(aryl)F complex (L = t-BuBrettPhos or RockPhos) does not occur when the aryl group is electron rich. Evidence is presented that a modified phosphine, generated in situ, serves as the actual supporting ligand during catalysis with such substrates. A preliminary study of the reactivity of a LPd(II)(aryl)F complex based on this modified ligand is reported.  相似文献
