Synthesis and Characterization of Ferrocenyl Substituted Styryl Octasilsesquioxane

4-(2-Ferrocenylethenyl)-phenyl-POSS Fc-CH=CH-C6H6-(C5H9)7Si8O12 (FEPS, Fc: ferrocene), containing metal and C=C double bond, was firstly synthesized as a mixture of E/Z isomers by the Wittig reaction. The chemical structure of FEPS was characterized by FTIR, 1H-, 13Cand 29Si-NMR.     

Synthesis of Novel (p‐Substituted Styryl) Spirobenzopyrans

A series of (p‐substituted styryl) spirobenzopyrans were synthesized by the Wittig reaction of Fisher's bases with 5‐(p‐substituted styryl) salicylaldehyde derivatives. The final spirobenzopyrans were characterized by the ¹H NMR, IR, UV, and GC‐MS analyses.

Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Multifunctional Acylthiourea Polymers

Several thiourea polymers have been synthesized through the reaction of diamine with 1, 4-or 1, 3-benzenedicarbonyl chloride and ammonium thiocyanate by solid-liquid phase transfer catalysis of polyethylene glycol-400 (PEG-400). The polymers were characterized and identified by elemental analysis, IR, HNMR and GPC. The multifunctional polymers have potential value as an ideal support for immobilized enzymes.

Synthesis and Characterization of N-(2,3,4,6-Tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl)-thiocarbamic-4-hydroxy-benzoyl Hydrazine Dihydrate

A new complex of N-(2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl)-thiocarbamic 4-hydroxy-benzoyl hydrazine dihydrate, C22H27N3O10S·2H2O, was synthesized and its structure was determined by X-ray crystallography and TG/DTG methods. The compound belongs to the orthorhombic system, which crystallizes in space group P212121, with a=1.0275(3), b=1.3419(4), c=2.0234(6), V=2.7899(16) nm3, and Z=4. The hexopyranosyl ring adopts a 4C1 conformation. All the substituents are at equatorial positions. The molecules are linked into a three-dimensional framework via intermolecular interactions. Atoms O5 and O9 show positional disorders.     

LiBr‐Catalyzed Simple and Efficient Synthesis of Some Novel Substituted Quinolines via Friedlander Heteroannulation Reaction

A simple and efficient method has been developed for the condensation of o‐aminoaryl ketones with α‐methylene ketones in the presence of catalytic amounts of LiBr to afford the corresponding fused cyclic quinolines in high yield using the Friedlander heteroannulation reaction. The reaction works at ambient temperature to give the products within 1.5–2 h.     

H2SO4-Promoted Synthesis of (E)-Stilbenes from Substituted Phenylacetones and Substituted Benzaldehydes Through Tandem Aldol–Grob Reaction

Stilbene derivates (stilbenoids) are present in plants and show a wide range of biological activities and potential therapeutic value. In continuation of our natural product synthesis program, an efficient, simple, and practical method has been developed to regioselectively synthesize (E)-stilbenes using H₂SO₄ as a catalyst in a short time (30–60 s) at room temperature in good to excellent yields.

Synthesis and Characterization of a Novel Zeolite CJS-4

A novel zeolite, denoted as CJS-4, has been synthesized from nonalkaline medium by using 4,4'-trimethylenebis(1-methylpiperidine) or 1,4-diazoniabicyclo(2,2,2) octane as template agent, respectively. The precursors were characterized by means of powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, thermal analysis, gas adsorption and high resolution solid state NMR of 13C and 29Si.

Synthesis,Spectral Studies and C-S,C-N Bond Fissions of Some Novel N-[Alkyl (4′- Substituted Phenylthio)] Phthalimides

N-[(4'-Substituted phenylthio)ethyl] phthalimide la-g and their corresponding n-propyl 2a-g, n-butyl 3a-g derivatives have been synthesised. The structure of these compounds were proved by UV,IR, ¹H NMR, ¹³CMR and mass spectra. The ¹H and ¹³C chemical shifts of the adjacent methylene protons and carbons of both the sulfur atom and phthalimido nitrogen group were reasonably correlated using σ° values. The carbon-nitrogen and the carbon-sulfur bond fissions in alkaline and acidic media were discussed.

N-acryloylcitisine and N-(-morpholinopropionyl)cytisine were synthesized and spatial structures of compounds obtained were established by X-ray difraction analysis.     

Synthesis,Characterization, and Biological Screening of Some Novel Thiazolidin-4-One and α-Aminophosphonate Derivatives

Abstract

Synthesis of some new functionalized thiazolidin-4-ones and α-amino phosphonate derivatives has been reported. The imines were synthesized from the reaction of various substituted anilines with 1-phenyl-3-(pyridine-4-yl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde in ethanol at reflux condition. The corresponding thiazolidin-4-ones and α-aminophosphonates were prepared by reaction of imines with mercaptoacetic acid and triethyl phosphite, respectively. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR, ¹H NMR, and mass spectral data and were evaluated for their antimicrobial activities.

Synthesis and Cyclization of N-(4-Phenoxyphenyl)-β-alanines

We have used the reaction of 4-aminodiphenyl ester with acrylic, methacrylic, crotonic, and itaconic acids to synthesize N-substituted -alanines, which undergo ring closure to form derivatives of dihydropyrimidinedione and 4-carboxy-2-pyrrolidinone. We have studied the reactions of acylation and recyclization of the dihydropyrimidinedione ring, and we have synthesized derivatives of 4-carboxy-1-(4-phenoxyphenyl)-2-pyrrolidinone: arylidene hydrazides, 2[(2-oxo-4-pyrrolidinyl-1-(4-phenoxyphenyl)]benzimidazole.
