A Boltzmann H-functional is derived in the so called physical representation introduced by Prigogine et al. It is proved that at equilibrium it contains the potential contributions to the specific entropy of the moderately dense gas. We propose a simple method to determine the local coupling strength Gamma experimentally, by linking the individual particle dynamics with the local density and crystal structure of a 2D plasma crystal. By measuring particle trajectories with high spatial and temporal resolution we obtain the first maps of Gamma and temperature at individual particle resolution. We employ numerical simulations to test this new method, and discuss the implications to characterize strongly coupled systems. 相似文献

We present a brief review of non-linear optical investigations on dye-doped solids using low-power CW lasers. After a brief introduction to the photophysics of the dye molecules, we discuss specific nonlinear processes such as self-diffraction, optical phase conjugation, two-beam coupling and polarization gratings in these systems. 以单向驱动耦合Lorenz振子一维链为研究对象,研究振子间的混沌同步行为. 数值计算结果表明,对于变量y驱动x的耦合方式,在合适的耦合强度下,会出现第一个振子和第二个振子不同步,而与次近邻非直接连接的振子(如第三个振子)近似同步. 进一步研究表明,出现这一现象的原因是在大耦合强度下,对于这种驱动方式,第一个振子和第二个振子间出现驱动单变量近似同步;虽然它们之间未出现所有变量的完全同步,但是驱动信号事实上已经传递下去了.

The rôle of interacting bound pairs in strongly coupled fermion systems is considered in connection with the transition to superfluidity. Model calculations are performed for finite-range separable interaction potentials. The results of a cluster-Hartree-Fock approximation are compared with recent approaches improving the Nozières and Schmitt-Rink theory. We discuss the problem of a possible “violation” of the optical sum rule in the normal (nonsuperconducting) state of strongly
correlated electronic systems, using our recently proposed DMFT + Σ approach applied to two typical models: the “hot spot”
model of the pseudogap state and the disordered Anderson-Hubbard model. We explicitly demonstrate that the general Kubo single-band
sum rule is satisfied for both models, but the optical integral itself is in general dependent on temperature and characteristic
parameters, such as the pseudogap width, correlation strength, and disorder scattering, leading to an effective “violation”
of the optical sum rule, which may be observed in experiments.

We report our investigation of Kerr nonlinear beam interactions in discrete systems. The influence of power and the relative phase between two Gaussian shaped beams was investigated in detail by performing numerical simulations of the discrete nonlinear Schr?dinger equation and comparing the results with experiments done in AlGaAs waveguide arrays. A simple bridge function for strongly coupled Yukawa systems is developed based upon a form previously extracted for a one-component plasma [H. Iyetomi, S. Ogata, and S. Ichimaru, Phys. Rev. A 46, 1051 (1992)]. Using the proposed bridge function in the modified hypernetted chain theory, excellent agreement is obtained with molecular dynamics simulations and the compressibility sum rule is satisfied to within a few percent. This result offers a simple and very accurate method to quickly compute correlation functions for Yukawa systems. 相似文献

The optical rectification (OR) in the asymmetric coupled quantum wells (ACQWs) is calculated theoretically. The dependence of the OR on the width of the right-well and the barrier is studied. The analytical expression of the optical rectification coefficient is obtained by using the compact density-matrix approach and the iterative method, and the numerical calculations are presented for a typical GaAs/AlxGa1 − xAs ACQW. The results obtained show that the OR efficient can reach the magnitude of 10−4 m/V in this ACQW system, which is 1-2 orders higher than that in single quantum systems. Moreover, the OR coefficient is strongly dependent on the widths of the barrier and the right-well of the ACQWs. An appropriate choice for the width of the barrier and the right-well of the ACQWs can induce a larger OR coefficient. 相似文献

Nonlinear intrachannel interactions in a transmission system with strong periodic dispersion management are studied. The ghost pulse at the zero bit is shown to grow resonantly as a result of periodic forcing and temporal phase matching with the signal pulses. The growth rate depends on the degree of overlap between the signals. The analysis agrees with direct numerical simulation of the full system. Growth rates for various bit patterns as a function of map strength are obtained. 相似文献
