Let M be the phase space of a physical system. Consider the dynamics, determined by the invertible map T: M → M, preserving the measure µ on M. Let ν be another measure on M, dν = ρdµ. Gibbs introduced the quantity s(ρ) = ?∝ρ log ρdµ as an analog of the thermodynamical entropy. We consider a modification of the Gibbs (fine-grained) entropy the so called coarse-grained entropy. First we obtain a formula for the difference between the coarse-grained and Gibbs entropy. The main term of the difference is expressed by a functional usually referenced to as the Fisher information. Then we consider the behavior of the coarse-grained entropy as a function of time. The dynamics transforms ν in the following way: νν n , n = ρT ?n dµ. Hence, we obtain the sequence of densities ρ n = ρT ?n and the corresponding values of the Gibbs and the coarse-grained entropy. We show that while the Gibbs entropy remains constant, the coarse-grained entropy has a tendency to a growth and this growth is determined by dynamical properties of the map T. Finally, we give numerical calculation of the coarse-grained entropy as a function of time for systems with various dynamical properties: integrable, chaotic and with mixed dynamics and compare these calculation with theoretical statements.  相似文献

It is shown that if an abelian countable group is such that is a finite group and every aperiodic positive entropy action of on a Lebesgue probability space has a countable Haar spectrum in the subspace , where denotes the Pinsker -

In the analysis of complex, large-scale dynamical systems it is often essential to decompose the overall dynamical system into a collection of interacting subsystems. Because of implementation constraints, cost, and reliability considerations, a decentralized controller architecture is often required for controlling large-scale interconnected dynamical systems. In this paper, a novel class of fixed-order, energy-based hybrid decentralized controllers is proposed as a means for achieving enhanced energy dissipation in large-scale lossless and dissipative dynamical systems. These dynamic decentralized controllers combine a logical switching architecture with continuous dynamics to guarantee that the system plant energy is strictly decreasing across switchings. The general framework leads to hybrid closed-loop systems described by impulsive differential equations. In addition, we construct hybrid dynamic controllers that guarantee that each subsystem–subcontroller pair of the hybrid closed-loop system is consistent with basic thermodynamic principles. Special cases of energy-based hybrid controllers involving state-dependent switching are described, and an illustrative combustion control example is given to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed approach.  相似文献

We prove some results concerning the entropy of continuous and almost continuous functions. We first introduce the notions of bundle entropy and (strong) entropy points and then we study properties of these notions in connection with the theory of multifunctions. The asymptotic behavior of dynamical systems with limited competition is investigated. We study index theory for fixed points, permanence, global stability, convergence everywhere and coexistence. It is shown that the system has a globally asymptotically stable fixed point if every fixed point is hyperbolic and locally asymptotically stable relative to the face it belongs to. A nice result is the necessary and sufficient conditions for the system to have a globally asymptotically stable positive fixed point. It can be used to establish the sufficient conditions for the system to persist uniformly and the convergence result for all orbits. Applications are made to time-periodic ordinary differential equations and reaction-diffusion equations.

We introduce a concept of entropy for difference and differential equations which is a local-in-space and transient-in-time version of the classical concept of metric entropy.
