In fed-batch culture of glycerol bio-dissimilation to 1,3-propanediol (1,3-PD), the aim of adding glycerol is to obtain as much 1,3-PD as possible. Hence, a proper feed strategy is required during the process. In this paper, we present an optimal switching control model based on our proposed controlled switching system. Some properties of the controlled switching system are obtained. Subsequently, we prove the existence of optimal control. In order to deduce the optimality conditions, we transcribe the optimal switching control model into an equivalent one with fixed switching instants and parameters. Finally, the optimality conditions of the equivalent problem are investigated by calculus of variations.  相似文献

In this paper, a class of optimal switching control problems with prespecified order of the sequence of subsystems is considered, where the switching instants are included in the cost functional. Both the switching instants and the control function are to be chosen such that the cost functional is minimized. Through the discretization of the control space, each control component is approximated by a piecewise constant function. The partition points and the heights of each of these piecewise constant functions are taken as decision varibles. Using the control parameterization enhancing transform, we map both types of switching instants into preassigned knot points via the introduction of an additional control, known as the enhancing control. In this way, we construct a sequence of approximate optimal parameter selection problems with fixed switching time points. We then show that these approximate optimal parameter selection problems are solvable as mathematical programming problems. The convergence analysis of this approximation is investigated. Two examples are solved using the proposed method so as to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method proposed.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a nonlinear switched time-delayed (NSTD) system with an unknown time-varying function describing the batch culture. The output measurements are noisy. According to the actual fermentation process, this time-varying function appears in the form of a piecewise-linear function with unknown kinetic parameters and switching times. The quantitative definition of biological robustness is given to overcome the difficulty of accurately measuring intracellular material concentrations. Our main goal is to estimate these unknown quantities by using noisy output measurements and biological robustness. This estimation problem is formulated as a robust optimal control problem (ROCP) governed by the NSTD system subject to continuous state inequality constraints. The ROCP is approximated as a sequence of nonlinear programming subproblems by using some techniques. Due to the highly complex nature of these subproblems, we propose a hybrid parallel algorithm, based on Nelder–Mead method, simulated annealing and the gradients of the constraint functions, for solving these subproblems. The paper concludes with simulation results.  相似文献

Developing suitable dynamic models of bioprocess is a difficult issue in bioscience. In this paper, considering the microbial metabolism mechanism, i.e., the production of new biomass is delayed by the amount of time it takes to metabolize the nutrients, in glycerol bioconversion to 1,3-propanediol, we propose a nonlinear time-delay system to formulate the fed-batch fermentation process. Some important properties are also discussed. Then, in view of the effect of time-delay and the high number of kinetic parameters in the system, the parametric sensitivity analysis is used to determine the key parameters. Finally, a parameter identification model is presented and a global optimization method is developed to seek the optimal key parameters. Numerical results show that the nonlinear time-delay system can describe the fed-batch fermentation process reasonably.  相似文献

An optimal boundary control problem in a domain with oscillating boundary has been investigated in this paper. The controls are acting periodically on the oscillating boundary. The controls are applied with suitable scaling parameters. One of the major contribution is the representation of the optimal control using the unfolding operator. We then study the limiting analysis (homogenization) and obtain two limit problems according to the scaling parameters. Another notable observation is that the limit optimal control problem has three controls, namely, a distributed control, a boundary control, and an interface control. In this paper, we study the fed-batch fermentation of glycerol by Klebsiella pneumoniae with open loop glycerol input and pH logic control using a flow of alkali as manipulated variable. A nonlinear hybrid system is developed to describe this process. We prove the finiteness of switching numbers of the system in terms of bounded variation and explore the existence and uniqueness of the solutions. Additionally, a parameter identification problem is proposed and an asynchronous parallel particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is constructed to solve it. Numerical results show the effectiveness of the algorithm and reveal that the proposed model could describe the fed-batch process properly.  相似文献

The variational process is established and applied to the development of the second variation for the free-final-time optimal control problem. First, it is shown that, given a change in the control (the independent variable), the change in the state (the dependent variable) consists of all orders of the change in the control. Hence, the change in the state is a total change. This implies that variations of dependent variations exist. Next, the variational relationship between time-constant and time-free variations is developed, and the formula for taking the variation of an integral is presented. The results are used to derive the second variation following three different approaches: taking the variation of the first variation after performing the integration by parts; taking the variation of the first variation before performing the integration by parts; and using the Taylor series approach. The ability to get the same result requires the existence of the total change in the state or of the variation of the state variation. Finally, if the nominal path is not an extremal, this process gives extra terms in the second variation.  相似文献

An optimal control problem of the Gourse type with delay is investigated. With a given aim functional, a necessary condition of optimality is formulated and proved in the form of a maximum principle. The proof is based on the reduction of a problem with delay to a problem without delay. The authors thank Prof. G. We establish first, in the setting of infinite dimensional Hilbert space, a result concerning the existence of solutions for perturbed sweeping processes whose perturbations are Lipschitz single-valued maps. Then we use this result to extend to the infinite dimensional setting a relaxation result concerning optimal control problems involving such processes. Dedicated to R. Production plants containing compartments whose material in-process inventory cannot be measured directly, require an input/ouput analysis to detect possible malfunctions. Flow simulation models quantifying the space-time behaviour of the material spectrum are shown to be an adequate tool for identifying the type and site of the control instruments necessary to guarantee timely detection of any significant material diversion.  相似文献

This paper studies a class of queueing control problems involving commonly used control mechanisms such as admission control and pricing. It is well established that in a number of these problems, there is an optimal policy that can be described by a few parameters. From a design point of view, it is useful to understand how such an optimal policy varies with changes in system parameters. We present a general framework to investigate the policy implications of the changes in system parameters by using event-based dynamic programming. In this framework, the control model is represented by a number of common operators, and the effect of system parameters on the structured optimal policy is analyzed for each individual operator. Whenever a queueing control problem can be modeled by these operators, the effects of system parameters on the optimal policy follow from this analysis.   相似文献

The global optimal control problem is proposed for a special class of hybrid dynamical systems, i.e. impulsive switching systems. Then the necessary condition of the above problem, the minimum principle, is given. Ekeland’s variational principle and the matrix cost functional structure expression are utilized in the process of the proof. Based on the main result, a special linear hybrid impulsive and switching system (HISS) is illustrated and the optimal control algorithm is presented. Moreover, the cases of pure impulsive systems and pure switched systems are included in this paper.  相似文献

We present a mathematical model of a crane-trolley-load model, where the crane beam is subject to the partial differential equation (PDE) of static linear elasticity and the motion of the load is described by the dynamics of a pendulum that is fixed to a trolley moving along the crane beam. The resulting problem serves as a case study for optimal control of fully coupled partial and ordinary differential equations (ODEs). This particular type of coupled systems arises from many applications involving mechanical multi-body systems. We motivate the coupled ODE-PDE model, show its analytical well-posedness locally in time and examine the corresponding optimal control problem numerically by means of a projected gradient method with Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno (BFGS) update.  相似文献

Practical industrial process is usually a dynamic process including uncertainty. Stochastic constraints can be used for industrial process modeling, when system sate and/or control input constraints cannot be strictly satisfied. Thus, optimal control of switched systems with stochastic constraints can be available to address practical industrial process problems with different modes. In general, obtaining an analytical solution of the optimal control problem is usually very difficult due to the discrete nature of the switching law and the complexity of stochastic constraints. To obtain a numerical solution, this problem is formulated as a constrained nonlinear parameter selection problem (CNPSP) based on a relaxation transformation (RT) technique, an adaptive sample approximation (ASA) method, a smooth approximation (SA) technique, and a control parameterization (CP) method. Following that, a penalty function-based random search (PFRS) algorithm is designed for solving the CNPSP based on a novel search rule-based penalty function (NSRPF) method and a novel random search (NRS) algorithm. The convergence results show that the proposed method is globally convergent. Finally, an optimal control problem in automobile test-driving with gear shifts (ATGS) is further extended to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method by taking into account some stochastic constraints. Numerical results show that compared with other typical methods, the proposed method is less conservative and can obtain a stable and robust performance when considering the small perturbations in initial system state. In addition, to balance the computation amount and the numerical solution accuracy, a tolerance setting method is also provided by the numerical analysis technique.  相似文献
