We prove the convex hull property for properly immersed minimal hypersurfaces in a cone of n . We deal with the existence of new barriers for the maximum principle application in noncompact truncated tetrahedral domains of 3, describing the space of such domainsadmitting barriers of this kind. Nonexistence results for nonflatminimal surfaces whose boundary lies in opposite faces of a tetrahedraldomain are obtained. Finally, new simple closed subsets of 3 whichhave the property of intersecting any properly immersed minimal surfaceare shown.  相似文献

Elementary self-adjoint perturbations of the Laplacian supported by curves with singular angle points in 3 and 4 are studied. The perturbations are shown to be semibounded in 3 and not semibounded in 4. An explicit Euler scheme is used for the time discretisation of the equation, and a triangular mesh for the spatial discretisation. Many global optimization problems can be formulated in the form min{c(x, y): x X, y Y, (x, y) Z, y G} where X, Y are polytopes in p , n , respectively, Z is a closed convex set in p+n, while G is the complement of an open convex set in n . The function c: p+n is assumed to be linear. Using the fact that the nonconvex constraints depend only upon they-variables, we modify and combine basic global optimization techniques such that some new decomposition methods result which involve global optimization procedures only in n . A linear autonomous control system in n is said to be completely controllable iff there existsT>0 such that eachx n can be steered to anyy n in timeT. This paper presents a geometric characterization of this property in the case in which there are constraints on the values which the control maps can assume. A necessary and sufficient condition to get instant controllability (i.e., complete controllability for anyT>0) is also derived. Given a convex subset C of n, the set-valued mapping C (where 0C is, by convention, the recession cone of C) is increasing on + if and only if C contains the origin, and decreasing on + if and only if C is contained in its recession cone. This simple fact enables us to define a binary operation which combines a concave or convex function on m with a convex subset of n to produce a convex subset of n+m. This binary operation is the set theoretic counterpart of a functional operation introduced by the author. The non-commutative torus C *(n,) is realized as the C*-algebra of sections of a locally trivial C*-algebra bundle over S with fibres isomorphic to C *n/S, 1) for a totally skew multiplier 1 on n/S. D. Poguntke [9] proved that A is stably isomorphic to C(S) C(*( Zn/S, 1) C(S) A Mkl( C) for a simple non-commutative torus A and an integer kl. Summary The Skorohod oblique reflection problem for (D, , w) (D a general domain in d , (x),xD, a convex cone of directions of reflection,w a function inD(+, d )) is considered. It is first proved, under a condition on (D, ), corresponding to (x) not being simultaneously too large and too much skewed with respect to D, that given a sequence {w n} of functions converging in the Skorohod topology tow, any sequence {(x n, n)} of solutions to the Skorohod problem for (D, , w n) is relatively compact and any of its limit points is a solution to the Skorohod problem for (D, , w). Next it is shown that if (D, ) satisfies the uniform exterior sphere condition and another requirement, then solutions to the Skorohod problem for (D, , w) exist for everywD(+, d ) with small enough jump size. The requirement is met in the case when D is piecewiseC b 1 , is generated by continuous vector fields on the faces ofD and (x) makes and angle (in a suitable sense) of less than /2 with the cone of inward normals atD, for everyxD. Existence of obliquely reflecting Brownian motion and of weak solutions to stochastic differential equations with oblique reflection boundary conditions is derived.  相似文献

In [4] the author published the theory of curves in isotropic S2 × . New results of Pottmann [1] show, that isotropic geometry has a meaning in CAGD, especially in questions on scattered data and visualisation. These are not only considered in euclidean space, but also on manifolds. So it may be interesting to look at the theory of surfaces in isotropic manifolds. This will be done in this paper for the manifold S2 × by embedding it in I4. Special surfaces on isotropic S2 × will be geometrically interpreted.

In this paper we study Milnor fibrations associated to real isolated singularities defined by map-germs f: (m,0)(2,0). The main result relates the existence of the Milnor fibration with the (C)-regularity of the family of hypersurfaces with isolated singularity obtained by projecting f into the family L of all lines through the origin in the plane 2.  相似文献
