The synthesis of racemic and optically pure ligand L, in which two 6,6'-disubstituted bipyridines are connected by methyleneoxy linkers to the molecular cleft dibenzobicyclo[b,f][3.3.1]nona-5a,6a-diene-6,12-dione, is reported. In the presence of 2 equivalents of zinc(ii) trifluoromethansulfonate (+/-)- undergoes slow reversible coordination over 24 h to form a pair of enantiomeric [2 + 2] metallomacrocycles, [Zn2(+)L2](OTf)(4) and [Zn2(-)L2](OTf)(4) respectively, that contain either two (+)-L ligands or two (-)-L ligands. This assignment was confirmed by independent studies with either (+)-L or (-)-L which formed the same complexes but at a significantly faster rate (3 h), and circular dichroism spectra of [Zn2(+)L2](OTf)(4) and [Zn2(-)L2](OTf)(4) which gave signals of the same intensity with the opposite sign. Treatment of (+/-)-L or optically pure L with copper(I) showed rapid formation of a mixture of oligomers as well as the [2 + 2] metallomacrocycle. The complex Zn2L2(OTf)(4) exhibits slow exchange between two species on the NMR time scale at room temperature. The results are consistent with the formation of a library of metal complexes in which the zinc(ii) binds initially to the most accessible bipyridyl binding sites in (+/-)-. Equilibration over several hours results in self-recognition of enantiomeric ligands to form a pair of enantiomeric metallomacrocycles, which have been tentatively assigned as having the helical configuration. Slow exchange is attributed to the preference for both metal centres to adopt 6-coordinate geometries involving the linker oxygens, but are limited to exchanging 5-coordinate complexes due to the shape of the cleft and the short linker.  相似文献

The first coordination compounds of partially or wholly deprotonated benzenepentacarboxylic acid (H5L) were synthesized in the presence or absence of auxiliary 2,2'-bipyridyl (2,2'-bpy) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands, and their crystal structures and photoluminescent properties were characterized. Their formulas are [Zn6(mu3-OH)2(L)2(H2O)6]n (1), [Zn5(mu3-OH)2(HL)2(2,2'-bpy)2]n (2), [Zn2(HL)(phen)2(H2O)2]n (3), and [Zn5(L)2(phen)4(H2O)3]n.2nH2O (4). Both 1 and 2 are three-dimensional (3D) zinc(II)-hydroxide cluster based coordination frameworks. 1 contains distorted chairlike hexanuclear Zn6(mu3-OH)2 cluster units as secondary building blocks. Each Zn6(mu3-OH)2 unit connects six others through the three-connected nodes of L5- ligands into a 3D rigid and condensed coordination network, whereas in 2, each pentanuclear Zn5(mu3-OH)2 unit connects the other six ones through the three-connected [HL]4- nodes into a 3D network in the simple cubic packing mode. 3 has two-dimensional (2D) Zn(II)-carboxylate supramolecular layers constructed from a one-dimensional (1D) coordination chain structure by hydrogen bonds of the water and mu5-[HL]4- bridges, whereas 4 has 2D coordination layers composed of Zn(II) and mu8-L5- bridges. The adjacent coordination assemblies in 3 and 4 are further extended by hydrogen bonds and pi...pi interactions into 3D supramolecular architectures. 1-4 are photoluminescent active materials, and their photofluorescent properties are closely related to their intrinsic structure arrangements.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of new polydentate ligand 2-(N),2'-(N')-bis[2-(3-hydroxy-2-oxo-2H-pyridin-1-yl)acetamido]-1(N'),2(N),2'(N')-trimethyl-2,2'-diaminodiethylamine (L3) is reported. The coordination properties of L3 and of two analogous macrocyclic ligands (L1 and L2) toward Cu(II) and Zn(II) metal ions are reported. All three ligands show the 3-hydroxy-2(1H)-pyridinone (HPO) groups attached as sidearms to a polyaza fragment, which is a macrocyclic framework in the case of L1 and L2 while it is an open chain in the case of L3. The role of the polyaza fragments in preorganizing the two sidearms was investigated. The basicity of L3 and the binding properties of L1-L3 were determined by means of potentiometric measurements in aqueous solution (298.1 +/- 0.1 K, I = 0.15 mol dm(-3)). UV-vis spectra as well 1H and 13C NMR experiments were used to understand the role of the HPO and of the polyaza fragments in the stabilization of the cations. While L1 forms stable mono- and dinuclear complexes, L2 and L3 can form only mononuclear species with each of the metal ions investigated. In the main mononuclear species of L2 and L3, the two HPO moieties stabilize the M(II) in a square planar geometry due to the two oxygen atoms of each HPO. The coordination sphere of the metal is completed by adding a secondary ligand such as water molecules in the case of Cu(II) systems or OH- in the Zn(II) systems. These results are confirmed by the crystal structures of the [CuH(-1)L2]+ and [CuH(-1)L3]+ species reported herein. Two conformations of L1 can be hypothesized in the formation of the dinuclear species, as suggested by NMR experiments on the [ZnH(-2)L1] species, which shows two conformers slowly interchanging on the NMR time scale, one of which was found to be more insoluble.  相似文献

Zn(II) binding by the dipyridine-containing macrocycles L1-L3 has been analyzed by means of potentiometric measurements in aqueous solutions. These ligands contain one (L1, L2) or two (L3) 2,2'-dipyridine units as an integral part of a polyamine macrocyclic framework having different dimensions and numbers of nitrogen donors. Depending on the number of donors, L1-L3 can form stable mono- and/or dinuclear Zn(II) complexes in a wide pH range. Facile deprotonation of Zn(II)-coordinated water molecules gives mono- and dihydroxo-complexes from neutral to alkaline pH values. The ability of these complexes as nucleophilic agents in hydrolytic processes has been tested by using bis(p-nitrophenyl) phosphate (BNPP) as a substrate. In the dinuclear complexes the two metals play a cooperative role in BNPP cleavage. In the case of the L2 dinuclear complex [Zn(2)L2(OH)(2)](2+), the two metals act cooperatively through a hydrolytic process involving a bridging interaction of the substrate with the two Zn(II) ions and a simultaneous nucleophilic attack of a Zn-OH function at phosphorus; in the case of the dizinc complex with the largest macrocycle L3, only the monohydroxo complex [Zn(2)L3(OH)](3+) promotes BNPP hydrolysis. BNPP interacts with a single metal, while the hydroxide anion may operate a nucleophilic attack. Both complexes display high rate enhancements in BNPP cleavage with respect to previously reported dizinc complexes, due to hydrophobic and pi-stacking interactions between the nitrophenyl groups of BNPP and the dipyridine units of the complexes.  相似文献

Two new mixed aza-thia crowns 5-aza-2,8-dithia[9]-(2,9)-1,10-phenanthrolinophane (L(4)) and 2,8-diaza-5-thia[9]-(2,9)-1,10-phenanthrolinophane (L(7)) have been synthesized and characterized. The coordination behavior of L(4) and L(7) toward the metal ions Cu(II), Zn(II), Pb(II), Cd(II), Hg(II), and Ag(I) was studied in aqueous solution by potentiometric methods, in CD3CN/D2O 4:1 (v/v) by (1)H NMR titrations and in the solid state. The data obtained were compared with those available for the coordination behavior toward the same metal ions of structurally analogous mixed donor macrocyclic ligands L(1)-L(3), L(5), L(6): all these contain a phenanthroline subunit but have only S/O/N(aromatic) donor groups in the remaining portion of the ring and are, therefore, less water-soluble than L(4) and L(7). The complexes [Cd(NO3)2(L(5))], [Pb(L(7))](ClO4)2 x 1/2MeCN, [Pb(L(4))](ClO4)2 x MeCN, and [Cu(L(7))](ClO4)2 x 3/2MeNO2 were characterized by X-ray crystallography. The efficacy of L(1)-L(7) in competitive liquid-liquid metal ion extraction of Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Pb(II), Ag(I), and Hg(II) was assessed. In the absence of Hg(II), a clear extraction selectivity for Ag(I) was observed in all systems investigated.  相似文献

The coordination properties of the ditopic oxa-aza macrocycles L1-L3 toward Ni(II) and Co(II) have been investigated by means of potentiometric and UV-vis spectrophotometric measurements. L1-L3 contain two triamine and/or tetraamine chains separated by two dioxa chains and form both mono- and dinuclear complexes in aqueous solution. In the [ML]2+ complexes, the metal ion is coordinated by one of the two polyamine moieties, while the other does not participate in the coordination. In the dinuclear complexes each metal ion is coordinated, almost independently, to a single polyamine moiety. Under aerobic conditions the binuclear Co(II) complexes of the ligands L1-L3 are able to bind molecular oxygen, with a bridging coordination of O2 between the two metals.  相似文献

The previously synthesised Schiff-base ligands 2-(2-Ph(2)PC(6)H(4)N[double bond, length as m-dash]CH)-R'-C(6)H(3)OH (R'= 3-OCH(3), HL(1); 5-OCH(3), HL(2); 5-Br, HL(3); 5-Cl, HL(4)) were prepared by a faster, more efficient route involving a microwave assisted co-condensation of 2-(diphenylphosphino)aniline with the appropriate substituted salicylaldehyde. HL(1-4) react directly with M(II)Cl(2)(M = Pd, Pt) or Pt(II)I(2)(cod) affording neutral square-planar complexes of general formula [M(II)Cl(eta(3)-L(1-4))](M = Pd, Pt, 1-8) and [Pt(II)I(eta(3)-L(1-4))](M = Pd, Pt, 9-12). Reaction of complexes 1-4 with the triarylphosphines PR(3)(R = Ph, p-tolyl) gave the novel ionic complexes [Pd(II)(PR(3))(eta(3)-L(1-4))]ClO(4)(13-20). Substituted platinum complexes of the type [Pt(II)(PR(3))(eta(3)-L(1-4))]ClO(4)(R = P(CH(2)CH(2)CN)(3)21-24) and [Pt(II)(P(p-tolyl)(3))(eta(3)-L(3,4))]ClO(4)( 25 and 26 ) were synthesised from the appropriate [Pt(II)Cl(eta(3)-L(1-4))] complex (5-8) and PR(3). The complexes are characterised by microanalytical and spectroscopic techniques. The crystal structures of 3, 6, 10, 15, 20 and 26 were determined and revealed the metal to be in a square-planar four-coordinate environment containing a planar tridentate ligand with an O,N,P donor set together with one further atom which is trans to the central nitrogen atom.  相似文献

The synthesis, structural characterization, and photoluminescence (PL) properties of the square-planar terpyridylplatinum(II) complex [ ( t )Bu 3tpyPtCCtpy] (+) ( 1) and the octahedral trinuclear Fe (II) and Zn (II) analogues [Fe( ( t )Bu 3tpyPtCCtpy) 2] (4+) ( 2) and [Zn( ( t )Bu 3tpyPtCCtpy) 2] (4+) ( 3) are described. The photophysical properties of the mononuclear Pt (II) complex 1 are consistent with a charge-transfer excited-state parentage producing a large Stokes shift with a concomitant broad, structureless emission profile. The Fe-based ligand-field states in 2 provide an efficient nonradiative deactivation pathway for excited-state decay, resulting in a nonemissive compound at room temperature. Interestingly, upon chelation of 1 with Zn (II), a higher energy charge-transfer emission with a low-energy shoulder and a 215 ns excited-state lifetime is produced in 3. A spectroscopically identical species relative to 3 was produced in control experiments when 1 was reacted with excess protons (HClO 4) as ascertained by UV-vis and static PL spectra measured at room temperature and 77 K. Therefore, the chelation of Zn (II) to 1 is acid-base in nature, and its Lewis acidity renders the highest occupied molecular orbital level in 1 much less electron-rich, which induces a blue shift in both the absorption and emission spectra. At 77 K, complexes 1, 3, and protonated 1 display at least one prevalent vibronic component in the emission profile (1360 cm (-1)) resembling PL emanating from a ligand-localized excited-state, indicating that these emitting states are inverted relative to room temperature. These results are qualitatively confirmed by the application of time-dependent theory using only the 1360 cm (-1) mode to reproduce the low-temperature emission spectra.  相似文献

Six new coordination polymers, namely [Zn1.5(BTC)(L1)(H2O)2].1.5H2O (1), [Zn3(BTC)2(L2)3] (2), [Zn3(BTC)2(L3)1.5(H2O)].H2O (3), [Co6(BTC)4(L1)6(H2O)3].9H2O (4), [Co1.5(BTC)(L2)1.5].0.25H2O (5), and [Co4(BTC)2(L3)2(OH)2(H2O)].4.5H2O (6), where L1 = 1,2-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene, L2 = 1,3-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene, L3 = 1,1'-(1,4-butanediyl)bis(imidazole), and BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate anion, were synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. In 1-6, each of L1-L3 serves as a bidentate bridging ligand. In 1, BTC anions act as tridentate ligands, and compound 1 shows a 2D polymeric structure which consists of 2-fold interpenetrating (6, 3) networks. In compound 2, BTC anions coordinate to zinc cations as tridentate ligands to form a net with (64.82)2(86)(62.8)2 topology. In compound 3, BTC anions act as tetradentate ligands and coordinate to zinc cations to form a net with (4.62.83)2(8.102)(4.6.83.10)2 topology. In compound 5, each BTC anion coordinates to three Co cations, and the framework of 5 can be simplified as (64.82)2(62.82.102)(63)2 topology. For 4 and 6, the 2D cobalt-BTC layers are linked by bis(imidazole) ligands to form 3D frameworks. In 6, the Co centers are connected by micro3-OH and carboxylate O atoms to form two kinds of cobalt-oxygen clusters. Thermogravimetric analyses (TGA) for these compounds are discussed. The luminescent properties for 1-3 and magnetic properties for 4-6 are also discussed in detail.  相似文献

With different pyridine-analogs as auxiliary ligands, three novel Zn(Ⅱ) complexes(1-3) based on 5-(1Htetrazol-1-yl) isophthalic acid(H_2L) have been synthesized and structurally characterized.Single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses of complexes 1-3 show the presence of tetrazolyl group,as well as the coordination behavior of the auxiliary ligands as critical factors determining the structures of such Zn(Ⅱ)-carboxyIate coordination architectures. In addition, the resulting complexes all exhibit luminescence properties in the solid state at room temperature.  相似文献

Treatment of two kinds of ferrocenyl-substituted carboxylate ligands (3-ferrocenyl-2-crotonic acid, HOOC-CH=(CH(3))CFc (Fc=(eta(5)-C(5)H(5))Fe(eta(5)-C(5)H(4))) or O-ferrocecarbonyl benzoic acid, o-HOOCC(6)H(4)COFc with Pb(OAc)(2).3H(2)O, Zn(OAc)(2).2H(2)O, or Cd(OAc)(2).2H(2)O) resulted in four novel ferrocene-containing coordination polymers [[Pb(mu(2)-eta(2)-OOCCH=(CH(3))CFc)(2)].MeOH](n) (1), [[Zn(o-OOCC(6)H(4)COFc)(2)(4,4'-bipy)(H(2)O)(2)].2MeOH.2H(2)O](n) (4,4'-bipy = 4,4'-bipyridine) (2), [[Cd(o-OOCC(6)H(4)COFc)(2)(bpe)(MeOH)(2)].2H(2)O](n) (bpe = 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethene) (3), and [Pb(o-OOCC(6)H(4)COFc)(eta(2)-o-OOCC(6)H(4)COFc)(bpe)](n)() (4). Their crystal structures have been characterized by single X-ray determinations. In polymer 1, Pb(II) ions are bridged by tridentate FcC(CH(3))=CHCOO(-) anions, forming an infinite chain [Pb(mu(2)-eta(2)-OOC=CH(CH(3))CFc)(2)](n). In polymers 2-4, there are three kinds of components, metal ions, o-FcCOC(6)H(4)COO(-) units, and organic bridging ligands. The bipyridine-based ligands connect metal ions leading to a one-dimensional chain with o-FcCOC(6)H(4)COO(-) units acting as monodentate or chelate ligands in the side chain. Such coordination polymers containing ferrocenyl-substituted carboxylate and bipyridine-based ligands are very rare. The solution-state differential pulse voltammetries of polymers 1-4 were determined. The results indicate that the half-wave potential of the ferrocenyl moieties is influenced by the Pb(II) ions in polymer 1 and strongly influenced by Zn(II), Cd(II), or Pb(II) ions in polymers 2-4. The thermal properties of the four polymers were also investigated.  相似文献

The metal-directed assembly of new molecular frameworks incorporating 4-(4-pyridyl)pyrazole (L), containing non-linear coordination vectors, is presented. Three metallo-arrays of types [Co(LH)2(NO3)4], [Co(LH)2(H2O)4][NO3]4.H2O and [Zn2(L-H)2Cl2].2EtOH are reported. The cobalt(II) in [Co(LH)2(NO3)4] displays distorted octahedral geometry, with the two protonated pyridyl-pyrazole ligands coordinated through their pyrazole nitrogen atoms in a trans-orientation; the remaining four coordination sites are occupied by nitrate anions. Two internal hydrogen bonds occur between each pyrazole NH and the oxygens of adjacent coordinated nitrato ligands. Short intermolecular hydrogen bonds also occur between the two pyridinium hydrogens and bound nitrate ligands on different molecules to yield a two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded array. Two of these arrays interpenetrate to form an extended two dimensional layer; such layers stack throughout the crystal structure. A second product of type [Co(LH)2(H2O)4][NO3]4.H2O exists as two crystallographically independent, but chemically similar, forms. In each form, the two protonated pyridyl-pyrazole ligands occupy trans positions about the cobalt, with the remaining four coordination sites being filled by water molecules to yield a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. Intramolecular hydrogen-bonding is observed between the two non-coordinated pyrazoyl nitrogen atoms and bound water oxygen atoms. The third complex, [Zn2(L-H)2Cl2].2EtOH, contains dimer units consisting of two zinc(II) ions bridged by two pyrazoylate groups in which the coordination geometry of each zinc approximates a tetrahedron. Each zinc is bound to two deprotonated pyridine-pyrazole ligands (L-H), one pyridyl group (from a different dimeric unit) and one chloro ligand. Each pyridyl nitrogen thus connects each of these zinc dimers to an adjacent dimer unit, forming a three-dimensional network containing small voids. The latter are occupied by ethanol molecules which form hydrogen bonds to the chloro ligands.  相似文献

The 2-methylimidazole complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) orotates, mer-[Co(HOr)(H2O)2(2-meim)2] (1), mer-[Ni(HOr)(H2O)2(2-meim)2] (2), [Cu(HOr)(H2O)2(2-meim)] (3) and [Zn(HOr)(H2O)2(2-meim)] (4), were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, spectral (UV–Vis and FT-IR) methods, thermal analysis (TG, DTG and DTA), magnetic susceptibility, antimicrobial activity studies and single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The complexes 1 and 2 have distorted octahedral geometries with two monodentate 2-methylimidazole and one bidentate orotate and two aqua ligands. The complexes 3 and 4 have distorted square pyramidal and trigonal bipyramidal geometry, respectively, with one 2-methylimidazole, bidentate orotate and aqua ligands. The orotate coordinated to the metal(II) ions through deprotonated nitrogen atom of pyrimidine ring and oxygen atom of carboxylate group as a bidentate ligand. The antimicrobial activities of 1 and 4 were found to be more active gram (+) than gram (−) and 4 could be use for treatment Staphylococcus aureus.  相似文献

The kinetics of cyclization of 2-hydroxypropyl p-nitrophenyl phosphate (1) promoted by two mononuclear Zn(II) catalytic complexes of bis(2-pyridylmethyl)benzylamine (4) and bis(2-methyl 6-pyridylmethyl)benzylamine (5) in methanol were studied under (s)(s)pH-controlled conditions (where (s)(s)pH refers to [H(+)] activity in methanol). Potentiometric titrations of the ligands in the absence and presence of Zn(2+) and a non-reactive model for 1 (2-hydroxylpropyl isopropyl phosphate (HPIPP, 6)) indicate that the phosphate is bound tightly to the 4:Zn(II) and 5:Zn(II) complexes as L:Zn(II):6(-), and that each of these undergoes an additional ionization to produce L:Zn(II):6(-):((-)OCH(3)) or a bound deprotonated form of the phosphate, L:Zn(II):6(2-). Kinetic studies as a function of [L:Zn(II)] indicate that the rate is linear in [L:Zn(II)] at concentrations well above those required for complete binding of the substrate. Plots of the second order rate constants (defined as the gradient of the rate constant vs. [complex] plot) vs. (s)(s)pH in methanol are bell-shaped with rate maxima of 23 dm mol(-1) s(-1) and 146 dm mol(-1) s(-1) for 4:Zn(II) and 5:Zn(II), respectively, at their (s)(s)pH maxima of 10.5 and 10. A mechanism is proposed that involves binding of one molecule of complex to the phosphate to yield a poorly reactive 1 : 1 complex, which associates with a second molecule of complex to produce a transient cooperative 2 : 1 complex within which the cyclization of 1 is rapid. The observations support an effect of the reduced polarity solvent that encourages the cooperative association of phosphate and two independent mononuclear complexes to give a reactive entity.  相似文献

Four chelating nitrogen ligands 2-5 derived from N,N-bis(2-picolyl)amine (bpa, 1) were synthesized, namely, (PyCH(2))(2)N-CH(2)-p-C(6)H(4)-CO(2)R (R = Me, 2, and R = H, 3) and (PyCH(2))(2)N-(CH(2))(n)-CO(2)H (n = 2, 4, and n = 5, 5). Amino acid conjugates 6 and 7 were formed by condensation of 3 with H-Phe-OMe and H-betaAla-OMe, respectively. Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of 1-7 were prepared and fully characterized. The X-ray structures of 1(Zn), 2(Zn), 4(Cu), and 7(Cu) were determined. The Zn complexes 1(Zn) and 2(Zn) as well as 7(Cu) show a distorted trigonal bipyramidal coordination environment in the solid state. An octahedral complex is observed for 4(Cu) which forms chains along the crystallographic b axis by intermolecular coordination of the carboxylic acid to the metal ion of a neighboring complex. Ligand 3 was used to prepare the peptide bioconjugate 8 (3-Ahx-Pro-Lys-Lys-Lys-Arg-Lys-Phe-NH(2)) with a nuclear localization signal (nls) heptapeptide by solid phase synthesis. Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of 8 were synthesized in situ and studied by FAB-MS, ESI-MS, UV/vis, and EPR (for 8(Cu)), and FAB-MS, ESI-MS, and NMR (for 8(Zn)). All spectroscopic results clearly support metal coordination to the bpa ligand in the bioconjugates 8(M), even in the presence of other potential ligands from amino acid side chains of the peptide. We suggest metal-peptide conjugates like 8(M) as artificial metallochaperones because they have the potential to deliver metal ions to specific compartments in the cell as determined by the peptide moieties.  相似文献

Deprotonation of the tridentate isoindoline ligand 1,3-bis[2-(4-methylpyridyl)imino]-isoindoline, 4'-MeLH, and reaction with hydrated zinc(II) perchlorate produces an unexpected trinuclear Zn(II) complex, [Zn(3)(4'-MeL)(4)](ClO(4))(2).5H(2)O (1), whereas reaction with hydrated copper(II) perchlorate in methanol produces the expected mononuclear product, [Cu(4'-MeL)(H(2)O)(2)]ClO(4) (2). X-ray diffraction shows that the trinuclear Zn(II) complex (1) contains a linear zinc backbone, and the arrangement of ligands about the outer chiral zinc(II) atoms is helical. The two terminal zinc ions exhibit approximate C(2) site symmetry, with tetrahedral coordination by two pyrrole and two pyridyl nitrogen atoms of the potentially tridentate isoindoline ligands. The central zinc ion exhibits approximate tetrahedral symmetry, with coordination by four pyridyl nitrogen atoms of four different isoindoline ligands. Pyridyl-pyrrole intramolecular pi-stacking interactions contribute to the stability of the trinuclear cation. The structure of the mononuclear copper(II) complex cation in 2 is best described as a distorted trigonal bipyramid. The isoindoline anion binds Cu(II) in both axial positions and one of the equatorial positions; water molecules occupy the other two equatorial positions.  相似文献

The syntheses of Kuratowski-type pentanuclear clusters featuring {MZn(4)Cl(4)} cores (M(II) = Ru or Zn) that incorporate triazolate ligands are described. The coordination compounds are characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), FTIR- and UV-vis spectroscopy. [Ru(II)Zn(4)Cl(4)(Me(2)bta)(6)]·2DMF (Me(2)bta(-) = 5,6-dimethyl-1,2,3-benzotriazolate) (1) crystallizes in the cubic system, while [Zn(5)Cl(4)(ta)(6)] (ta(-) = 1,2,3-triazolate) (3) crystallizes in the tetragonal system. Both compounds feature structurally similar cluster topologies in which the central octahedrally coordinated metal ion is coordinated to six triazolate ligands. Each triazolate ligand is coordinated with two zinc ions (μ(3)-bridging mode), leading altogether to a pentanuclear cluster of T(d) point group symmetry. Photophysical investigations reveal that compound [Zn(5)Cl(4)(Me(2)bta)(6)]·2DMF (2) shows a short-lived excited electronic state, which can be populated with high quantum yield. The isostructural compound [Ru(II)Zn(4)Cl(4)(Me(2)bta)(6)]·2DMF (1), on the other hand, shows a long-lived photoexcited state, owing to an internal singlet to triplet conversion of the electronic states, as revealed by time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy. Insights gained from these studies open up novel design strategies towards photocatalytically active metal-organic frameworks incorporating photoactive Kuratowski-type secondary building units such as MFU-4 (Metal-Organic Framework Ulm University-4).  相似文献

A new dipodal ligand, N,N'-bis{2-[(2-hydroxybenzylidine)amino]ethyl}malonamide (BHAEM) was synthesized by Schiff base condensation of N,N'-bis(2-aminoethyl)malonamide with two equivalent of salicylaldehyde and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses and various spectral (UV-vis, IR, (1)H NMR and (13)C NMR) data. The complexation reaction of the ligand with H(+), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) in solution was investigated by spectrophotometric and potentiometric method. Two protonation constants of BHAEM assigned for two hydroxyl groups of aromatic ring were determined and its hydrolysis mechanism was proposed through potentiometric result. In presence of metal ions, BHAEM shows different coordination properties. All metal ions form ML type complex where the ligand coordinates to the metal ion through two N-amine and two O-phenolate groups. In addition, Ni(II) and Cu(II) form additional complex species of the type MLH(-1) and MLH(-2), respectively due to ionization of amide protons. The molecular geometry of BHAEM was examined theoretically using the molecular mechanics MM3 force field followed by semi-empirical PM3 method and various spectral data UV-vis, IR and (1)H NMR were calculated from the energy-minimized structure applying semi-empirical ZINDO, PM3 and TNDO/2 method, respectively and compared with the experimental data. The probable structure of metal complexes in solution were proposed through calculated minimum strain energy by applying molecular mechanics MM(+) force field coupled with molecular dynamics simulation. Further the proposed structure of Cu(BHAEM) was refined through semi-empirical AM1/d method.  相似文献

Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) complexes have been prepared with Schiff bases derived from 3-formyl-2-mercaptoquinoline and substituted anilines. The prepared Schiff bases and chelates have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibilities, electronic, IR, 1H-NMR, ESR, cyclic voltammetry, FAB-mass, and thermal studies. The complexes have stoichiometry of the type ML2 · 2H2O coordinating through azomethine nitrogen and thiolate sulfur of 2-mercapto quinoline. An enhancement in fluorescence has been noticed in the Zn(II) complexes whereas quenching occurred in the other complexes. The ligands and their metal complexes have been screened in vitro for antibacterial and antifungal activities by MIC methods with biological activity increasing on complexation. Cu(II) complexes show greater bacterial than fungicidal activities. The brine shrimp bioassay was also carried out to study the in vitro cytotoxicity properties of the ligands and their corresponding complexes. Only four compounds have exhibited potent cytotoxic activity against Artemia salina; the other compounds were almost inactive for this assay.  相似文献

The macrocycles L(1)-L(3) incorporating N(2)S(3)-, N(2)S(2)O-, and N(2)S(2)-donor sets, respectively, and containing the 1,10-phenanthroline unit interact in acetonitrile solution with heavy metal ions such as Pb(II), Cd(II), and Hg(II) to give 1:1 ML, 1:2 ML(2), and 2:1 M(2)L complex species, which specifically modulate the photochemical properties of the ligands. The stoichiometry of the complex species formed during spectrofluorometric titrations and their formation constants in MeCN at 25 degrees C were determined from fluorescence vs M(II)/L molar ratio data. The complexes [Pb(L(1))][ClO(4)](2).(1)/(2)H(2)O (1), [Pb(L(2))][ClO(4)](2).MeNO(2) (1a), [Pb(L(3))(2)][ClO(4)](2).2MeCN (1b), and [Cd(L(3))][NO(3)](2) (2b) were also characterized by X-ray diffraction studies. The conformation adopted by L(1)-L(3) in these species reveals the aliphatic portion of the rings folded over the plane containing the heteroaromatic moiety with the ligands trying to encapsulate the metal center within their cavity. In 1, 1a, and 2b the metal ion completes the coordination sphere by interacting with counteranion units and solvent molecules. On the contrary, the 1:2 complex 1b shows Pb(II) sandwiched between two symmetry-related molecules of L(3) reaching an overall [4N + 4S] eight-coordination.  相似文献
