This paper reports on the characterization of a diode-side-pumped CW Nd:YAG laser. A side-pumped configuration with 9 laser diodes is used for the laser. Pump light is directly coupled into the Nd:YAG rod without focusing lenses and the pump light distribution in the Nd:YAG rod was calculated. A maximum output power of 150 W in multimode operation is obtained for a pumping power of 400 W. The optical–optical efficiency is 37%. Output power of the laser under different output couplers, resonator lengths and temperatures of the cooling water have been studied. 相似文献

A high-power continuous-wave (cw) Nd:YAG laser operating at 946 nm by utilizing a quasi-three-level transition is reported. The laser consists of a composite Nd:YAG rod end pumped by a fiber-coupled diode laser and a simple plane-concave cavity. At an incident pump power of 40.2 W, a maximum cw output of 15.2 W at 946 nm is obtained, achieving a slope efficiency of 45%. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest output at 946 nm ever generated by diode-pumped Nd:YAG lasers. In addition, at an incident pump power of 15.2 W, a 1.25 W blue output at 473 nm is achieved with a simple compact three-element cavity and a type-I lithium triborate (LiB(3)O(5)) crystal as a frequency doubler. 相似文献

We developed a highly efficient diode side-pumped Nd:YAG ceramic laser with a diffusive reflector as an optical pump cavity. A maximum output power of 211.6 W was obtained with an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 48.7%. This corresponds to the highest conversion efficiency in the side-pumped ceramic rod. Thermal effects of the Nd:YAG ceramic rod were analyzed in detail through the measurements of laser output powers and beam profiles near the critically unstable region. A M2 beam quality factor of 18.7 was obtained at the maximum laser output power. 相似文献

High-power and high-efficiency operation of an all-solid-state, quasi-continuous-wave, titanium sapphire laser is obtained with a diode-laser-pumped frequency-doubled Nd:YAG laser as the pump source. A maximum output power of 2.5 W is obtained for 16-W power of 532-nm pump light. A much higher conversion efficiency of 15.7% is obtained when at the maximum output power. 相似文献

We present for the first time a Nd:YAG laser emitting at 1064 nm intracavity pumped by a 946 nm diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser.
A 885 nm laser diode is used to pump the first Nd:YAG crystal emitting at 946 nm, and the second Nd:YAG laser emitting at
1064 nm intracavity pumped at 946 nm. We achieved an output power of 7.97 W at 1064 nm for an absorbed pump power at 946 nm
of 9.55 W, corresponding to an optical efficiency of 83.4%. The beam quality M2 quality factor is about 1.1 at the maximum output power. 相似文献

We demonstrate a diode-laser-pumped solid-state 1.06 μm laser using a novel YAG/Nd:YAG/YAG composite ceramics with a sandwich structure. We optimize the laser performance using different output couplers, pumping beam waists, and cavity lengths. A maximum CW output power of 11 W for the YAG/Nd:YAG/YAG-ceramic laser is obtained at an absorbed pump power of 25 W resulting in a slope efficiency of 49.4%. The excellent output performance shows that the novel YAG/Nd:YAG/YAGceramic material has a great potential in applications with diode-laser pumping. 相似文献

To clarify the advantages of Cr:Nd:YAG ceramics rods in solar-pumped lasers, a fused silica light guide with rectangular cross-section is coupled to a compound V-shaped cavity within which a 7 mm diameter 0.1 at.% Cr:1.0 at.% Nd:YAG ceramic rod is uniformly pumped. The highly concentrated solar radiation at the focal spot of a 2 m diameter stationary parabolic mirror is transformed into a uniform pump radiation by the light guide. Efficient pump light absorption is achieved by pumping uniformly the ceramic rod within the V-shaped cavity. Optimum pumping parameters and solar laser output powers are found through ZEMAX© non-sequential ray-tracing and LASCAD© laser cavity analysis codes. 33.6 W continuous-wave laser power is measured, corresponding to 1.32 times enhancement over our previous results with a 4 mm diameter Nd:YAG single-crystal rod. High slope efficiency of 2.6 % is also registered. The solar laser output performances of both the ceramic and the single-crystal rods are finally compared, revealing the relative advantage of the Cr:Nd:YAG rod in conversion efficiency. Low scattering coefficient of 0.0018 cm?1 is deduced for the ceramic rod. Heat load is considered as a key factor affecting the ceramic laser output performance.

We report on a diode-laser-pumped cw Nd: YAG laser operating at a power level of 150 W. By using a transverse pump geometry, the radiation of 54 diode lasers with an output power of 10 W each is coupled into a Nd:YAG rod. In multimode operation, an optical slope efficiency of 32% and an optical to optical efficiency of 29% are obtained. In TEM00 operation, an output power of more than 30 W is realized with an optical to optical efficiency of 10%. 相似文献

The concept of an Active mirror with transparent Nd/Cr:YAG ceramics is proposed. A new ceramic material pumped by an arc-metal-halide lamp has been experimentally implemented. CW-laser light generated in a 1064 nm Nd:YAG micro-tip oscillator was amplified by an Active mirror made of Nd/Cr:YAG ceramic and pumped by CW arc-lamp light. The saturation power density of the Nd/Cr:YAG ceramic was lower than that of Nd:YAG because the stimulated-cross-section and lifetime were effectively enhanced by the sensitization of Cr ions. The maximum output laser power while keeping spatial beam quality was up to 3 W with an input lamp power of 9 W; the resulting optical-optical conversion efficiency of 33% was close to the theoretical prediction of nearly 50%. 相似文献

Efficient and compact red laser output at 669 nm is generated by intracavity frequency doubling of a continuous-wave (CW)
diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser at 1338 nm. With 16.9 W of diode pump power and the frequency-doubling crystal KTiOPO4 (KTP), a maximum output power of 582 mW in the red spectral range at 669 nm has been achieved, corresponding to an optical-to-optical
conversion efficiency of 3.4%; the output power stability over 4 h is better than 3.6%. To the best of our knowledge, this
is first work on intracavity frequency doubling of a diode pumped Nd:YAG laser at 669 nm. 相似文献

We report a high power continuous wave laser operation with a Nd:YAG single crystal fiber. A piece of high quality Nd:YAG
single crystal fiber was prepared by means of laser heated pedestal growth method and was then applied as the laser gain medium.
The crystal fiber laser was end-pumped by a fiber pig-tailed laser diode working around 808 nm. A maximum output power of
13 W was obtained at a pump power of 60 W. To our knowledge, it was the highest laser power ever achieved with a piece of
single crystal fiber. 相似文献

A folded four-mirror cavity with a composite Nd:YAG rod is optimized to obtain high efficient cw 473nm blue output. The laser could operate stably in the region of the thermal-lens focal length from 20mm to 70mm. LBO is used for intracavity frequency doubling of the 946nm transition of Nd:YAG and the optimum LBO length is investigated. A maximum output power of 2.1 Win the blue spectral range at 473nm is achieved with 30-mm-long LBO, corresponding to an optical conversion efficiency of 9.1%. 相似文献

Efficient generation of blue light by intracavity frequency doubling of a cw Nd:YAG laser with LBO 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
We report on the efficient room-temperature operation of 4F3/2–4I9/2 transition in a diode pumped Nd:YAG laser operating at 946 nm. An output power of 5.1 W and a slope efficiency of 23.6% at 946 nm have been obtained. Different LBO crystals of length 3×3×10 mm3, 3×3×15 mm3, 3×3×18 mm3 were selected as frequency doubling material for comparison. A maximum single-ended output power of 1.3 W at 473 nm was achieved by frequency doubling with an optical conversion efficiency of 5%. When the Nd:YAG rod was replaced by the one with high reflectivity coating at 473 nm on the pump side, the output power of blue light was almost twice that without high reflectivity coating for 473 nm at the same pump power level. Moreover, the theoretical optimum length of LBO crystal for intracavity frequency doubling was discussed, and the experimental results made a good agreement with it. 相似文献

The operation of an all solid-state pulsed Nd:KGW Raman laser pumped by compact passively Q-switched Nd:YAG/Cr:YAG laser is
demonstrated. The first-Stokes radiation of stimulated Nd:KGW Raman scattering at the 1178 nm is generated. The average output
power of 336 mW at Stokes wavelength was obtained under the laser diode pump power of 5.74 W. The corresponding optical efficiency
from the diode light to the Raman output is 9.85%. The pulse width of 1.65 ns and a pulse repetition rate of 10 kHz were also
obtained. 相似文献

Q-switched red laser output is obtained by intracavity frequency-doubling a Nd:YAG laser operating at 1319 nm with a type

Passively Q-switched green output with Cr4+:YAG as saturable absorber and PPMgLN as the frequency doubling crystal was realized in a compact diode end-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser. The green light output power, pulse width, pulse repetition rate, pulse energy and peak power with three Cr4+:YAG of different initial transmissions were investigated. The maximum average output power was 1.2 W at the pump power of
4.0 W and the maximum conversion efficiency was 30% with the Cr4+:YAG of 90% initial transmission. The maximum pulse energy and minimum pulse width were 10.9 μJ and 12 ns with the Cr4+:YAG of 75% initial transmission. 相似文献

We demonstrated a radially polarized, LG01-mode Nd:YAG laser by applying annular-shaped pump light. The annular profile of the pump light was originated from the mode conversion inside a conventional multimode fiber under off-focus coupling condition. This laser gave a maximum output power of 1.2 W at 1,064 nm with a slope efficiency of 28.3 %. 相似文献

An efficient continuous-wave (CW) simultaneous dual-wavelength lasing (SDWL) of an LD end-pumped Nd:YAG laser utilizing a quasi-three-level transition at 946 nm and a four-level transition at 1064 nm is reported. A theoretical model has been introduced to determine the threshold conditions for SDWL. The temperature distributions of a Nd:YAG crystal under different pump powers have been analyzed. In the experiments, a CW SDWL output power of 5.12 W at a temperature of 273 K has been achieved with a pump power of 17 W, giving a slope efficiency of 16.36%. 相似文献
