New polymeric membrane (PME) and coated graphite (CGE) samarium(III)-selective electrodes were prepared based on isopropyl 2-[(isopropoxycarbothioyl) disulfanyl]ethanethioate as a suitable neutral ionophore. The electrodes exhibit Nernstian slopes for Sm3+ ions over wide concentration ranges (1.0×10−5 to 1.0×10−1 M for PME and 1.0×10−6 to 1.0×10−1 M for CGE). The PME and CGE have limits of detection of 3.1×10−6 and 5.0×10−7 M, respectively, and response times of about 20 s. The potentiometric responses are independent of the pH of the test solution in the pH range 4.0-7.0. The proposed electrodes revealed good selectivities over a wide variety of other cations including alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. The electrodes were successfully applied to the recovery of Sm3+ ion from tap water samples and also, as an indicator electrode, in potentiometric titration of samarium(III) ions.  相似文献

Comparative studies of the potentiometric behavior of three mercapto compounds [2-((5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-ylimino)methyl)phenol] (MTMP), [5-(2-methoxy benzylidene amino)-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thiol] (MBYT) and [5-(pyridin-2-ylmethyleneamino)-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thiol] (PYTT) self-assembled on gold nanoparticles (GNPs) as ionophores in carbon paste electrodes (CPEs) have been made. These mercapto thiadiazole compounds were self-assembled onto gold nanoparticles and then incorporated within carbon paste electrode. The self-assembled ionophores exhibit a high selectivity for copper ion (Cu2+), in which the sulfur and nitrogen atoms in their structure play a role as the effective coordination donor site for the copper ion. These carbon paste electrodes were applied as indicator electrodes for potentiometric determination of copper ions. The sensor based on PYTT exhibits the working concentration range of 4.0 × 10−9 to 7.0 × 10−2 M and a Nernstian slope of 28.7 ± 0.3 mV decade−1 of copper activity. The detection limit of electrode was 1.0 × 10−9 M and potential response was pH independent across the range of 3.0-6.5. It exhibited a quick response time of <5 s and could be used for a period of 45 days. The ion selectivity of this electrode for Cu2+ was over 104 times that for other metal cations. The application of prepared sensors has been demonstrated for the determination of copper ions in spiked water and natural water samples.  相似文献

The construction and general performance characteristics of two novel potentiometric carbon paste electrodes (CPE) responsive to antimony are described. These sensors are based on the use of the ion associate complexes of tetraiodoantimonate (TIA) anion with cetylpyridinium (CP) and triphenyl tetrazolium (TPT) counter cations as ion exchange site in a carbon paste matrix. The two sensors exhibits fast, stable and near-Nernstian for the mono charged TIA anion over the concentration range 1 × 10−3 to 10−6 M at 25 °C in the pH range 4-10 with anionic slope of 58.0 ± 0.5 and 55.0 ± 0.7 per concentration decade for TIA-CP and TIA-TPT, respectively. The lower detection limits are 4 and 5 × 10−6 M and response time are 20 and 30 s in the same order of both electrodes. Selectivity coefficients for antimony relative to a number of different cations and anions were investigated. There is negligible interference from many inorganic cation and anion except for Hg2+, Cd2+, and Bi3+; however, their effect were eliminated by EDTA. The determination of 1.0-120.0 μg/ml of antimony in aqueous solutions shows an average recovery of 99.0 and 97.5% with relative standard deviation of 2.0% for both electrodes at 40 μg/ml. The determination of antimony in wastewater and some antibilharzial compounds using the proposed electrodes gave results that compare favorably with those obtained by the atomic absorption spectrometric method. Precipitation titrations involving cetylpyridinium chloride as titrant are monitored with both electrodes with inflection point of 180 and 100 mV for TIA-CP and TIA-TPT, respectively.  相似文献

The potentiometric behavior of coated wire electrodes based on dodecylbenzenesulfonate-doped polypyrrole (PPy-DBS) and hyamine as ion exchanger was investigated. The PPy-DBS was prepared electrochemically by anodic polymerization of pyrrole in the presence of DBS ions in aqueous solution and used as ionophore for construction of the sensor. Two types of coated wire electrodes made of PVC-PPy-DBS and PVC-Hyamine-DBS, plasticized with ortho-nitrophenyloctylether (o-NPOE) showed the Nernstian behavior (with respective calibration slopes of about 58 and 60 mV per decade) over the DBS concentration range of 3.0×10−6 to 1.1×10−3 M and 5.0×10−6 to 1.3×10−3 M, respectively. The influence of membrane composition, type of plasticizer, and pH of test solution on the potentiometric responses of the two electrodes was investigated. The potentiometric response was independent of the pH of test solution in the range 3-10. The response time of electrodes was fast (10 s for both types of electrode), and they can be used for at least 3 months without any significant change in potential. The proposed electrodes revealed very good selectivity for DBS ion over diverse inorganic and organic anions. The potentiometric selectivity coefficients for the PPy-DBS based electrode revealed a significant improvement as compared to the electrode made by conventional Hyamine-DBS (Hya-DBS) anion exchanger. The proposed electrode was used for determination of DBS ion in some commercial detergents. The results of the potentiometric determinations were in satisfactory agreement with those obtained by a standard method (two-phase titration).  相似文献

Bis(2-hydroxyacetophenone)butane-2,3-dihydrazone (BHAB) was used as new N-N Schiffs base which plays the role of an excellent ion carrier in the construction of a Cu(II) membrane sensor. The best performance was obtained with a membrane composition of 30% poly(vinyl chloride), 55% o-nitrophenyloctyl ether (NPOE), 7% BHAB and 8% oleic acid (OA). This sensor shows very good selectivity and sensitivity towards copper ion over a wide variety of cations, including alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. The effect of membrane composition and pH and influence of additive anionic on the response properties of electrode were investigated. The electrode exhibits a Nernstian behavior (with slope of 29.6 mV per decade) over a very wide concentration range (5.0 × 10−8 to 1.0 × 10−2 mol L−1) with a detection limit of 3.0 × 10−8 mol L−1 (2.56 ng mL−1). It shows relatively fast response time, in whole concentration range (<15 s), and can be used for at least 12 weeks in the pH range of 2.8-5.8. The proposed sensor was successfully used to determination of copper in different water samples and as indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of copper ion with EDTA.  相似文献

Novel polymeric membrane (PME) and coated graphite (CGE) silver-selective electrodes based on two recently synthesized mixed azathioether crowns containing a 1,10-phenanthroline sub-unit were prepared. The electrodes reveal a Nernstian behavior over quite wide Ag+ ion concentration ranges with a very low limits of detection (LOD) (i.e. down to 1.0×10−8 M for CGEs and 8.0×10−7 M for PMEs). The potentiometric responses are independent of the pH of the test solution in the pH range 3.0-7.0. The electrodes possess advantages of low resistance, very fast response time, relatively long lifetimes and, especially, good selectivities relative to a wide variety of other cations. The electrodes were used, as indicator electrodes, in the potentiometric titration of silver ion and in the determination of Ag+ in waste water, photographic emulsion and radiographic and photographic films.  相似文献

A new dodecyl benzene sulfonate (DBS) ion-selective electrode based on polyaniline is reported. The films of polyaniline doped with DBS were prepared electrochemically on platinum electrodes in the solution containing 1.0×10−3 M aniline and 7.0×10−3 M DBS. The optimum potentiometric response was obtained for prepared polymeric film by passing electricity of 7.5 C cm−2. The electrode exhibits an excellent Nernstian slope of −59.1±0.3 mV per decade for DBS ion over a wide concentration range (5.0×10−6 to 4.1×10−3 M) with a low detection limit (1.0×10−6 M). The proposed electrode revealed good sensitivities for DBS ion over a wide variety of other anions and can be used in the wide pH range of 5-10. It shows good stability, good reproducibility, wide range of pH independency and fast response (<20 s) without using internal solution. This electrode could be used for the determination of DBS in the real samples.  相似文献

It has a relatively fast response time and can be used for at least three months without any considerable divergence in potentials. The proposed membrane electrode revealed very good selectivity for Al3+ ions over a wide variety of other cations and could be used at a working pH range of 3.0-8.5. It was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of aluminum ions with EDTA and in the determination of Al3+ in different real samples.  相似文献

These electrodes depend mainly on the incorporation of the ion pair of meclofenoxate hydrochloride with phosphomolybdic acid (PMA) or phosphotungestic acid (PTA). They showed near Nernestian responses over usable concentration range 1.0 × 10−5 to 1.0 × 10−2 M with slopes in the range 55.15–59.74 mV (concentration decade)−1. These developed electrodes were fully characterized in terms of their composition, response time, working concentration range, life span, usable pH and temperature range. The electrodes showed a very good selectivity for Meclo with respect to a large number of inorganic cations, sugars and in the presence of the degradation product of the drug (p-chloro phenoxy acetic acid). The standard additions method was applied to the determination of MecloCl in pure solution, pharmaceutical preparations and biological samples. A novel coated wire electrode (CWE) for Al(III) ions is described based on 2-(1H-benzo[d]imidazole-1-yl)-1-phenylethanoneoxime as a new ionophore in carbon-PVC composite. The sensor exhibits significantly enhanced selectivity toward Al3+ ions over the concentration range 4.3 × 10−7 to 5.0 × 10−2 M with a lower detection limit of 2.5 × 10−7 M and a Nernstian slope of 19.41 ± 0.52 mV decade−1 of aluminium activity. This sensor has a short response time of about 10 s and is reproducible and stable for at least forty-five days. This proposed CWE which is designed for the first time revealed good selectivity for Al(III) over a wide variety of other cations. The performance of the sensor is best in the pH range of 3.1-5.5 and it also works well in partially non-aqueous medium. Moreover, the assembly has been successfully used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of aluminium (III) against EDTA and also in determining Al(III) quantitatively in pharmaceutical and mineral water samples.  相似文献

A new ion-selective electrode (ISE) based on dicyclohexano-18-crown-6 (DC18C6) as a neutral carrier is developed for lanthanum(III) ions. The electrode comprises of dicyclohexano-18-crown-6 (6%), PVC (33%), and ortho-nitrophenyl octyl ether (o-NPOE) (61%). The electrode shows a linear dynamic response in the concentration range of 10−6 to 10−1 M with a Nernstian slope of 19 mV per decade and a detection limit as 5×10−7 M. It has a response time of <30 s and can be used for at least 5 months without any significant divergence in potentials. The selectivity coefficients for mono-, di-, and trivalent cations indicate good selectivity for La(III) ions over a large number of interfering cations. The sensor has been used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titrations of La(III) with EDTA. The membrane is successfully applied in partially non-aqueous medium. It can be used in the pH range 4-9.  相似文献

The electrodes were fully characterized in terms of the membrane composition, temperature, and pH. The electrodes were applied to the potentiometric determination of PPA.Cl in pure solutions and in pharmaceutical preparations under batch and flow injection conditions. The sensors showed fast, stable, and Nernstian slope over the concentration ranges 1.0×10−5 to 8.91×10−3 M and 10−5 to 10−2 M in the case of PPA-TPB applying batch and flow injection analysis (FIA), respectively, and 5.01×10−6 to 1.25×10−3 M and 10−5 to 10−2 M in the case of PPA-PT for batch and FIA systems, respectively. The electrodes exhibited good selectivity for PPA.Cl with respect to a large number of inorganic cations, sugars, amino acids, and components other than phenylpropanolamine of the mixed drugs. A new functionalized nanoporous silica gel with dipyridyl group (DPNSG) was synthesized. Then, the potentiometric response of the copper(II) ion was investigated at a carbon paste electrode chemically modified with this newly designed functionalized nanoporous silica gel. The electrodes with DPNSG proportions of 15.0% (w/w) demonstrated very stable potentials. Calibration plots with Nernstian slopes for Cu2+ were observed, 28.4 (±1.0) mV decade−1, over a wide linear concentration range (1.0 × 10−7 to 1.0 × 10−2 M). The electrode exhibited a detection limit of 8.0 × 10−8 M. Moreover, the selectivity coefficients measured by the match potential method in acetate buffer, pH 5.5, were investigated. The electrode presented a response time of ∼50 s, high performance, high sensitivity in a wide range of cation activities and good long-term stability (more than 9 months). The method was satisfactory and was used to determine the copper ion concentration in waste waters, contaminated by this metal.  相似文献

Three enantioselective, potentiometric membrane electrodes (EPMEs) based on macrocyclic glycopeptide antibiotics—vancomycin and teicoplanin (modified or not with acetonitrile)—were proposed for the determination of l- and d-enantiomers of methotrexate (Mtx). The linear concentration ranges for the proposed enantioselective membrane electrodes were between 10−6 and 10−3 mol l−1 for l- and d- methotrexate. The slopes of the electrodes were 58.00 mV/pl-Mtx for vancomycin-based electrode; 57.60 mV/pd-Mtx for teicoplanin-based electrode and 55.40 mV/pd-Mtx for teicoplanin modified with acetonitrile-based electrode. The detection limits of the proposed electrodes were of 10−8 mol l−1 magnitude order. The surfaces of the electrodes are stable and easily renewable by polishing on alumina paper. All proposed electrodes proved to be successful for the determination of the enantiopurity of Mtx as raw material and of its pharmaceutical formulations (tablets and injections).  相似文献

A novel potentiometric zirconium - PVC matrix membrane sensor incorporating bis(diphenylphosphino) ferrocene as an electroactive material and tris(2-ethylhexyl)phosphate as solvent mediator is described. In mixed acetate buffer solution of pH 4.8, the sensor displays a rapid and linear response for zirconium ion over the concentration range 1.0 × 10−1 to 1.0 × 10−7 mol L−1 with a good slope of 59.7 ± 0.3 mV per decade and detection limit 1.8 × 10−8 mol L−1. The best performance was obtained with membrane composition 33% PVC, 65% TEHP, 1% NaTPB and 1% ionophore. The proposed electrode revealed excellent selectivity for zirconium ion over a wide variety of alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions and could be used in a pH range of 4.15-7.8. The electrode was applied for at least 1 month without any considerable divergence in the potential responses. The practical utility of the electrode has been demonstrated by its use as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of zirconium ions with sodium fluoride and in determination of zirconium ion in some alloy, tape and waste water samples.  相似文献

The feasibility of a newly synthesized Rh(III) complex, Rh[(trpy)(bpy)Cl](PF6)2, as a novel ionophore for the preparation of anion-selective polymeric membrane electrodes was tested. The ionophore exhibited anti-Hofmeister behavior with enhanced potentiometric selectivity toward thiocyanate ion compared to other anions. The influence of some experimental parameters such as membrane composition, nature and amount of plasticizer and additive and concentration of internal solution on the potential response of the SCN sensor were investigated. The electrode exhibits a Nernstian response for SCN over a wide concentration range (1.0 × 10−5 to 1.0 × 10−1 M) with a slope −58.7 ± 0.5 mV per decade and a detection limit of 4.0 × 10−6 M (0.23 ppm). It could be used in a pH range of 3.0-8.0 and has a fast response time of about 15 s. The proposed sensor was used for the determination of thiocyanate ions in real samples such as urine and saliva of smokers and nonsmokers and, as an indicator electrode, in potentiometric titrations of SCN ion.  相似文献

A novel selective membrane electrode for determination of ultra-trace amount of lead was prepared. The PVC membrane containing N,N′-dimethylcyanodiaza-18-cown-6 (DMCDA18C6) directly coated on a graphite electrode, exhibits a Nernstian response for Pb2+ ions over a very wide concentration range (from 1.0×10−2 to 1.0×10−7 M) with a limit of detection of 7.0×10−8 M (∼14.5 ppb). It has a fast response time of ∼10 s and can be used for at least 2 months without any major deviation in potential. The electrode revealed very good selectivity with respect to all common alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. The proposed sensor was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of lead ions and in determination of lead in edible oil, human hair and water samples. The proposed sensor was found to be superior to the best Pb2+-selective electrodes reported in terms of detection limit and selectivity coefficient.  相似文献
