Gauge-invariant BFV approach to geometric quantization is applied to the case of hermitian symmetric spaces G/H. In particular, gauge invariant quantization on the Lobachevski plane and sphere is carried out. Due to the presence of symmetry, master equations for the first-class constraints, quantum observables and physical quantum states are exactly solvable. BFV-BRST operator defines a flat G-connection in the Fock bundle over G/H. Physical quantum states are covariantly constant sections with respect to this connection and are shown to coincide with the generalized coherent states for the group G. Vacuum expectation values of the quantum observables commuting with the quantum first-class constraints reduce to the covariant symbols of Berezin. The gauge-invariant approach to quantization on symplectic manifolds synthesizes geometric, deformation and Berezin quantization approaches.  相似文献

In this paper, the invariant Dirac structures on Poisson actions and pullback Dirac structures are characterized in terms of their characteristic pairs. The characteristic connection of an almost hermitian structure is a hermitian connection with totally skew-symmetric torsion. The case of parallel torsion in dimension 6 is of particular interest. In this work, we give a full classification of the algebraic types of the torsion form, and, on the basis of this, undertake a systematic investigation into the possible geometries. Numerous naturally reductive spaces are constructed and classified, and examples on nilmanifolds given.  相似文献

In this paper, we give an explicit basis of the invariant bidifferential operators on the Hermitian symmetric spaces of rank 1. We present a definition of generating functions of canonical relations, which are real functions on symmetric symplectic spaces, discussing some conditions for the presence of caustics. We show how the actions compose by a neat geometrical formula and are connected to the hamiltonians via a geometrically simple variational principle which determines the classical trajectories, discussing the temporal evolution of such “extended hamiltonians” in terms of Hamilton–Jacobi-type equations. We examine a family of finite energySO(3) Yang-Mills connections overS 4, indexed by two real parameters. This family includes both smooth connections (when both parameters are odd integers), and connections with a holonomy singularity around 1 or 2 copies ofRP 2. These singular YM connections interpolate between the smooth solutions. Depending on the parameters, the curvature may be self-dual, anti-self-dual, or neither. For the (anti)self-dual connections, we compute the formal dimension of the moduli space. For the non-self-dual connections we examine the second variation of the Yang-Mills functional, and count the negative and zero eigenvalues. Each component of the non-self-dual moduli space appears to consist only of conformal copies of a single solution.This work was partially supported by an NSF Mathematical Sciences Postdoctoral Fellowship  相似文献

An indecomposable Riemannian symmetric space which admits non-trivial twistor spinors has constant sectional curvature. Furthermore, each homogeneous Riemannian manifold with parallel spinors is flat. In the present paper we solve the twistor equation on all indecomposable Lorentzian symmetric spaces explicitly. In particular, we show that there are — in contrast to the Riemannian case — indecomposable Lorentzian symmetric spaces with twistor spinors, which have non-constant sectional curvature and non-flat and non-Ricci flat homogeneous Lorentzian manifolds with parallel spinors.  相似文献

We construct large families of examples and show how they fit in the perspective of a complete classification of these manifolds. The explicit formulas for fundamental solutions of the modified wave equations on certain symmetric spaces are found. These symmetric spaces have the following characteristic property: all multiplicities of their restricted roots are even. As a corollary in the odd-dimensional case one has that the Huygens' principle in Hadamard's sense for these equations is fulfilled. We consider also the heat and Laplace equations on such a symmetric space and give explicitly the corresponding fundamental solutions-heat kernel and Green's function. This continues our previous investigations [16] of the spherical functions on the same symmetric spaces based on the fact that the radial part of the Laplace-Beltrami operator on such a space is related to the algebraically integrable case of the generalised Calogero-Sutherland-Moser quantum system. In the last section of this paper we apply the methods of Heckman and Opdam to extend our results to some other symmetric spaces, in particular to complex and quaternian grassmannians.  相似文献

We study (4 + d)-dimensional Einstein-Yang-Mills theories with arbitrary gauge groups, GYM. The theory is compactified on a d-dimensional symmetric coset space GH with a symmetric, topologically non-trivial classical gauge field, embedded in an H-subgroup of the Yang-Mills group. These theories are known to be classically stabilized by gravity if GYM = H, GH is a sphere and d ≠ 3. We study classical instabilities caused by embedding H in a larger gauge group. The small fluctuation spectrum is completely calculable, and leads to a stability condition. For two-dimensional spheres this condition is precisely the Brandt-Neri stability condition for non-abelian monopole fields. For four-spheres we find stability for SU(2) instantons embedded in arbitrary gauge groups and we reproduce the fluctuation spectrum around instantons. For higher-dimensional spheres the stable solutions of this type are completely classified, and occur only for d = 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12 and 16. The results show a remarkable agreement with expected topological stability. We also give a few examples with other symmetric spaces, such as CPn, where the stability criterion appears less restrictive.  相似文献

In this paper, we study weakly symmetric Finsler spaces. We first study an existence theorem of weakly symmetric Finsler spaces. Then we study some geometric properties of these spaces and prove that any such space can be written as a coset space of a Lie group with an invariant Finsler metric. Finally we show that each weakly symmetric Finsler space is of Berwald type.  相似文献

Invariant path integrals on symmetric and group spaces are defined in terms of a sum over the paths formed by broken geodesic segments. Their evaluation proceeds by using the mean value properties of functions over the geodesic and complex radius spheres. It is shown that on symmetric spaces the invariant path integral gives a kernel of the Schrödinger equation in terms of the spectral resolution of the zonal functions of the space. On compact group spaces the invariant path integral reduces to a sum over powers of Gaussian-type integrals which, for a free particle, yields the standard Van Vleck-Pauli propagator. Explicit calculations are performed for the case ofSU(2) andU(N) group spaces.  相似文献

As a detailed application of the BV-BFV formalism for the quantization of field theories on manifolds with boundary, this note describes a quantization of the relational symplectic groupoid for a constant Poisson structure. The presence of mixed boundary conditions and the globalization of results are also addressed. In particular, the paper includes an extension to space–times with boundary of some formal geometry considerations in the BV-BFV formalism, and specifically introduces into the BV-BFV framework a “differential” version of the classical and quantum master equations. The quantization constructed in this paper induces Kontsevich’s deformation quantization on the underlying Poisson manifold, i.e., the Moyal product, which is known in full details. This allows focussing on the BV-BFV technology and testing it. For the inexperienced reader, this is also a practical and reasonably simple way to learn it.  相似文献
