The inclusion complexation between the electron-poor cyclophane, i.e. cyclobis(paraquat-p-phenylene), and the electron-rich thiophene oligomers, i.e. thiophene, bithiophene and terthiophene, were characterized in solution and solid state. In solution, we confirmed a 1:1 complexation and that the binding strength depends on the number of the thiophene units. From the X-ray crystallographic analysis we confirmed the solid-state structure of the inclusion complex. These results indicate that charge-transfer, π–π and van der Waals interactions may contribute to the driving force of inclusion complexation.  相似文献

Adamantyl-functionalized phthalimides were synthesized and the probability of intramolecular photochemical hydrogen atom abstraction in the solid state analyzed by X-ray crystallographic analyses. These analyses and solid-state photolyses showed that the parameters determining photochemical reactivity for typical carbonyl compounds in the solid state can also be extended to phthalimides. Only N-(2-adamantyl)phthalimide underwent a solid-state photochemical reaction, which is the first example in the phthalimide series. This reaction is regio- and stereoselective, resulting in an endo-alcohol. On the other hand, the photoreaction of N-(2-adamantyl)phthalimide in solution gives an exo-alcohol as the main product together with an endo-alcohol and a benzazepindione.  相似文献

The relationship between the photophysical properties and molecular orientation of 1,3,6,8-tetraalkylpyrenes in the solid state is described herein. The introduction of alkyl groups with different chain structures (in terms of length and branching) did not affect the photophysical properties in solution, but significantly shifted the emission wavelengths and fluorescence quantum yields in the solid state for some samples. Pyrenes bearing ethyl, isobutyl, or neopentyl groups at the 1-, 3-, 6-, and 8-positions showed similar emission profiles in both the solution and solid states. In contrast, pyrenes bearing other alkyl groups exhibited an excimer emission in the solid state, similar to that of the parent pyrene. On studying the photophysical properties in the solid state with respect to the obtained crystal structures, the observed solid-state photophysical properties were found to depend on the relative position of the pyrene chromophores. The solid-state photophysical properties can be controlled by the alkyl groups, which provide changing crystal packing. Among the pyrenes tested, 1,3,6,8-tetraethylpyrene showed the highest fluorescence quantum yield of 0.88 in the solid state.  相似文献

2,3-dimethylquinoxaline (DMQ) and dimethylglyoxime (DMGH2) form a 1:1 hydrogen-bonded complex in the solid state, which is completely dissociated in methanol solution. There are small differences in solid-state 13C shifts between the separated components DMQ and DMGH2 and the complex. The changes in 15N solid-state chemical shifts are more significant: the hydrogen bond imparting a low frequency shift of ca 19 ppm. The effect of direct protonation on the DMQ solid-state 15N shifts was measured, and the experimental 15N data correlated with those from GIAO molecular orbital (MO) calculations.  相似文献

Two sets of diastereomers of pentacoordinate spirophosphoranes separately derived from l-valine (or d-valine) and l-leucine (or d-leucine) were synthesized, isolated, and structurally characterized both in the solid state (X-ray crystallography and solid-state CD spectroscopy) and in the solution (1H NMR). The Λ and Δ absolute configurations of a pair of enantiomers 3a and 4a with distorted trigonal bipyramids (TBPs) geometry are directly determined by X-ray diffraction analysis, respectively. The chiral-at-phosphorus features of the related diastereomers were correlated with their solid-state CD and 1H NMR spectra.  相似文献

Novel heterocyclic quinol-type fluorophores (4 a-c) and (5 a-c) that contain substituents (R = Me, Bu, Ph) with nonconjugated linkages to the chromophore skeleton have been synthesized and their photophysical properties have been investigated in solution and in the solid state. Considerable differences in the absorption and fluorescence spectra were observed between the two states. Quinols 4 a-c and 5 a-c exhibited almost the same absorption and fluorescence spectra in solution; however, their solid-state fluorescence excitation and emission spectra in the crystalline state were quite different. We performed X-ray crystallographic analyses to elucidate the dramatic effect of the substituents of the nonconjugated linkage on the solid-state fluorescence excitation and emission spectra. The relationships between the solid-state photophysical properties and the chemical and crystal structures of 4 a-c and 5 a-c are discussed on the basis of the X-ray crystal structures.  相似文献

We report a technique for carrying out in situ solid-state NMR studies of crystallization from solution, allowing the evolution of different solid state structures (polymorphs) produced during the crystallization process to be identified. The technique exploits selectivity in NMR properties (specifically, the efficiency of cross-polarization from (1)H to (13)C) between molecules in the solid and solution states, such that the first solid particles produced during the crystallization process are observed selectively, without detecting any signal from dissolved solute (or solvent) molecules. The application of the technique is demonstrated to reveal new insights concerning an isotope effect on the polymorphic outcome of crystallization of glycine from water. As revealed by this example, the in situ solid-state NMR approach reported here creates significant new opportunities for probing and understanding details of the evolution of solid state structures produced during crystallization from solution.  相似文献

Radiation-induced solid-state copolymerization of the maleic anhydride–acenaphthylene system was carried out for the purpose of studying the solid-state polymerization of vinyl compounds in a binary system. Melting point measurement confirmed that this binary monomer system forms a eutectic mixture in the solid state. The solid-state polymerization of these monomers proceeds at maximum rate at the eutectic composition, and the polymerization products consist of a mixture of polyacenaphthylene and 1:1 maleic anhydride–acenaphthylene alternating copolymer. Since the 1:1 copolymer was obtained in solution polymerization also and maleic anhydride did not homopolymerize in solid state, it is considered that the solid-state copolymerization of maleic anhydride and acenaphthylene occurs in a liquidlike state at the boundary of the two monomer crystals.  相似文献

A series of cycloadducts possessing unusual flipping modes have been isolated from the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of 3,4,5,6-tetrahydropyridine N-oxide to piperidides of cinnamic acid and para-substituted cinnamic acids and these were analyzed by X-ray crystallography to reveal novel solid-state structures. The presence of two different flippomers arising due to flipping of the six/five bicyclic ring was confirmed both in solid state and in solution. This is the first observation of 1,3-dipolar cycloadducts having two different flippomers arising due to flipping of the isoxazolidine ring.  相似文献

Thermotropic aromatic polyesters based on 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and 4,4′-dihydroxy-1,6-diphenoxyhexane 1a and -decane 1b have been synthesized by solution polymerization. The solid-state structures of these polyesters have been examined by high-resolution solid-state CP/MAS (cross polarization/magic angle spinning) and solution 13C-NMR. For precipitated original samples, alkylene spacers were generally in the all-trans form in the solid state. For once-melted samples, torsional gauche conformations were introduced to the spacers. The mesophase of the polyesters was identified as nematic. The temperature ranges of the nematic state of 1a and 1b were much wider than those of analogous polymers 2a and 2b based on terephthalic acid. For these polyesters, the substitution of the 2,6-naphthalene ring for the benzene ring induced no appreciable change in the conformation of the diphenoxy alkylene units in the solid state and on the melting points. Thermotropic ester model compounds, i.e., bis(4-butoxyphenyl) 2,6-naphthalate 3a and bis(4-butylphenyl) 2,6-naphthalate 3b have been prepared and characterized by both solid-state and solution NMR, which helped the interpretation of the solid-state structures of the polyesters. These spectra were compared with those of terephthalate-based related compounds 4a and 4b . The solid-state spectra suggest that the butoxyphenyl group of 3a and the butylphenyl group of 3b formed almost the same conformations as those of 4a and 4b , respectively.  相似文献

The 1H NMR spectra of the antibiotic cycloheximide in CDCl3 and CD3OD have been assigned. Analyses of coupling constants and difference NOE spectra showed different conformations in these two solvents, due to changeover between intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonding. The twist boat cyclohexanone found in the solid state was not detected in solution. The results are compared with the solution and solid-state conformations of the antitumour agent sesbanimide A.  相似文献

The role of voids and cracks in solid-state reaction between 8-hydroxyquinoline and phthalic anhydride has been investigated. 8-hydroxyquinoline reacts with phthalic anhydride both in solution and in solid state, forming a 1:1 yellow-colored complex. X-ray diffraction studies prove that the complex obtained from the solid-state reaction is the same as that obtained from solution. Several techniques have been used to study the kinetics of the reaction in the solid state. Kinetic studies by capillary technique showed that surface migration is the mode of diffusion of reactant concerned. Dilatometric technique confirms the formation of cracks and voids in the systems and shows that the reaction is propagated through the channels.  相似文献

Solution and solid-state proton decoupled 13C-NMR spectra were determined on two diimides derived from 4, 4′-oxydiphthalic anhydride. Comparison of the individual diimide spectra to that of a mixture of the two diimides indicates that ordering of these materials occurs in the solid state via charge transfer complex formation. A similar study was conducted using two isomeric dianhydrides, 4, 4′-isophthaloyldiphthalic anhydride (IDPA) and 4, 4′-terephthaloyldiphthalic anhydride (TDPA). The solution spectra of these compounds are similar and are those which would be expected for these compounds. However, their solid state spectra differ from each other. The solid-state spectrum of TDPA resembles its solution spectrum, whereas, that of IDPA differs greatly from its solution spectrum and indicates charge transfer complex formation occurs with this molecule. This difference is explained in terms of the stereochemistry of the two isomeric dianhydrides.  相似文献

Infrared spectra of N-methyl- and N,N-dimethylaminobenzoic acids have been investigated. All the acids except N,N-dimethylanthranilic acid showed neutral structures in the solid state. The N,N-dimethylanthranilic acid, however, exhibited a dipolar structure with strong intramolecular hydrogen bonding in the solid state while in solution it is neutral.  相似文献

No solid-state fluorescence is observed for 9-(diethylamino)benzo[a]phenoxazin-5-one (Nile Red). However, 9-dibutylamino-6-{perfluoro[4-methyl-3-(1-methylethyl)-2-penten]-2-oxy}benzo[a]phenoxazin-5-one showed fluorescence maximum at 717 nm in solid state with fluorescence quantum yield 0.024. X-ray crystallographic analysis suggests that prevention of network π−π interactions by the bulky fluorine-containing and dibutylamino groups is essential to show solid-state fluorescence.  相似文献

The molecular recognition by para-sulphonato-calix[4]arene of cytosine, occurs in solution, in the solid-state and by assembly on the surface of para-sulphonato-calix[4]arene capped silver nanoparticles. Each of these states shows different modes of assembly; in solution a 1:1 complex is formed; in the solid state a 4:1 assembly exists, however some of the cytosine molecules are present as space fillers and do not participate in the host (guest complexes, finally on the surface of the hybrid silver/para-sulphonato-calix[4]arene nanoparticles a 2:1 cytosine/para-sulphonato-calix[4]arene assembly is observed. The assembly processes have been studied by DOSY NMR, fluorescence spectroscopy, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Single Crystal Solid State Diffraction, Visible Spectroscopy and Electron Microscopy. The results demonstrate how cytosine initiates the aggregation of the hybrid silver/para-sulphonato-calix[4]arene hybrid nanoparticles.  相似文献

Solid-state photochromism of benzopyrans and naphthopyrans (chromenes) was investigated in the temperature range between 300 and 80 K. Variable-temperature diffuse reflectance spectroscopy of microcrystalline powders showed that the extent of photocoloration was greatly enhanced at low temperatures. All the chromenes examined exhibited solid-state photochromism at low temperatures, even when they showed little or no photocoloration at room temperature. The solid-state photochromic properties of the chromenes were quite similar to those reported for analogous photochromic compounds of spiropyrans and spirooxazines, which indicates that these classes of compounds are generally photochromic even in the solid state. Photobleaching reactions of the colored merocyanine forms proceeded at low temperatures through the formation of a colorless intermediate, instead of directly resuming the original closed form. In addition to two stable planar merocyanine forms, which are usually observed in the photochromic reactions in solution, photoreactions at low temperatures allowed us to observe unstable colored species, which were tentatively assigned as nonplanar cisoid forms, and were stabilized in the solid state at low temperatures.  相似文献

Diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) derivatives with four different substituents were synthesized by cross-coupling reactions. The DPP derivatives were investigated in terms of their solid-state structure, absorption, emission, and electrochemistry. The electron-donating property of each substituent causes a redshift of UV/vis absorption and emission in the solution state. Although all of the DPP derivatives have high quantum yields in solution, only butoxyphenyl-substituted DPP exhibits strong emission in the solid state.  相似文献
