Nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes are synthesized with a novel tetradentate macrocyclic ligand, i.e. 2,6,12,16,21,22-hexaaza;3,5,13,15-tetraphenyltricyclo[15,3,1,1(7-11)] docosa;1(21),2,5,7,9,11(22),12,15,17,19-decaene (L) and characterized by the elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, (1)H NMR, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. All the complexes are non-electrolytic in nature. Thus, these may be formulated as [M(L)X(2)] [M=Ni(II), Cu(II) and X=Cl(-), NO(3)(-) and (1/2)SO(4)(2-)]. Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes show magnetic moments corresponding to two and one unpaired electron, respectively. On the basis of IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Ni(II) and tetragonal geometry for Cu(II) complexes.  相似文献

Cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes having the general composition M(L)X2 (where M = CO(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II), L = ligand, i.e. 3,4,12,13-tetraketo-2,5,11,14,19,20-hexaazatricyclo[13.3.1.1(6-10)]cosane; 1(19),6,8,10(20),15,17-hexaene and X stands for Cl-; NO3- and SO42-), have been prepared. The structure of the complexes has been elucidated by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The magnetic moment measurements of the complexes indicate that the metal ion is in high-spin state. On the basis of IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies an octahedral geometry was assigned for Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes whereas tetragonal geometry for Cu(II) complexes. This ligand and its complexes were also screened against bacteria and pathogenic fungi in vitro.  相似文献

Manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), and copper(II) complexes are synthesized with a novel tetradentate ligand, viz. 1,5,9,13-tetraaza-6,14-dioxo-8,16-diphenylcyclohexadecane (L) and characterized by the elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, 1H NMR, IR, electronic, and EPR spectral studies. The molar conductance measurements of the complexes in DMSO correspond to be nonelectrolyte nature for Mn(II), Co(II), and Cu(II) whereas 1:2 electrolytes for Ni(II) complexes. Thus, these complexes may be formulated as [M(L)X(2)] and [Ni(L)]X(2), respectively (where M = Mn(II), Co(II), and Cu(II) and X = Cl- and NO(3-)). On the basis of IR, electronic, and EPR spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Mn(II) and Co(II) complexes, square-planar for Ni(II) whereas tetragonal for Cu(II) complexes. The ligand and its complexes were also evaluated against the growth of bacteria and pathogenic fungi in vitro.  相似文献

Hydrated nitrate and perchlorate salts of the transitional metal ions Co2+, Ni2+ and Cu2+ have been used to investigate the coordination capability of the octaaza macrocycle L derived from 2,6-diformylpyridine and diethylenetriamine. The synthesis of the metal complexes was carried out in 1:1 and 2:1 metal:ligand molar ratios, but dinuclear complexes were obtained in all cases due to the size of the 24-membered ligand. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity, mass spectrometry, IR spectroscopy, diffuse reflectance and magnetic measurements. The dinuclear nature of the compounds was confirmed by X-ray diffraction. The crystal structures of [Ni2L(NO3)2](NO3)2, [Cu2L(NO3)4] and [Cu2L(ClO4)4], were determined.  相似文献

Complexes of Cr(III), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) containing a novel macrocyclic tetradentate nitrogen donor (N4) ligand prepared via reaction of 2,3-hexanedione and ethylenediamine has been prepared and characterized. The newly synthesized ligand (L) and its complexes have been characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic moment susceptibility, EI-Mass, IR, Electronic and EPR spectral studies. The complexes are of high-spin type and four coordinated tetrahedral, five coordinated square pyramidal and six coordinated octahedral/tetragonal geometries. The ligand (L) and its soluble transition metal complexes have also been screened against different bacteria and plant pathogenic fungi in vitro.  相似文献

The coordination capability of the new tetrapyridyl pendant-armed azamacrocyclic ligand L, towards Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II) ions was studied. The ligand and the complexes were characterized by microanalysis, LSI mass spectrometry, IR, UV-Vis and NMR spectroscopy, magnetic studies and conductivity measurements. Crystal structures of [Co2L(CH3CN)2](ClO4)4·2CH3CN and [Cd2L(NO3)2](NO3)2·2H2O complexes have been determined. The X-ray studies show the presence of dinuclear endomacrocyclic complexes with the metal ion in a similar distorted octahedral environment, coordinated by one pyridyl bridgehead group, two amine nitrogen atoms and two pyridyl pendant-arms. The sixth coordination position around the metal ion is completed by one acetonitrile molecule in [Co2L(CH3CN)2](ClO4)4·2CH3CN and by one monodentate nitrate anion in [Cd2L(NO3)2](NO3)2·2H2O. Different sort of intramolecular non-classical hydrogen bonds were found in the crystal lattice of both structures.  相似文献

1,2-bis(p-aminophenoxy)ethane was obtained with reduction of 1,2-bis(p-nitrophenoxy)ethane and Pd/C as catalyst in hydrazine hydrate. Co(II), Cu(II), and Ni(II) complexes of aromatic bidentate diamine were prepared. The structure of the ligand and its complexes were characterized by IR, elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, conductivimetry, UV-Vis and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The metal/ligand mole ratios were found to be 1:1. The general compositions of these complexes are found to be [CoLCl2], [CuLCl2], and [CoLCl2]. Reaction of malate ion with Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) gave malatotriaquo complexes of these ions, while Cu(II) gave the malatoaquo complex. The structures of these complexes were predicted from elemental analysis and IR spectra. Thermal decomposition of the complexes using TG, DTG and DTA gave supporting evidence for the predicted structures. A correlation between the thermal stability of these complexes and the covalency of the MO bond was made.  相似文献

Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes are synthesized with thiosemicarbazone (L) derived from pyrrole-2-carboxyaldehyde. These complexes are characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurement, mass, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The molar conductance measurement of the complexes in DMSO indicates that the complexes are non-electrolyte except Co(L)2(NO3)2 and Ni(L)2(NO3)2 complexes which are 1:2 electrolyte. All the complexes are of high-spin type. On the basis of spectral studies an octahedral geometry may be assigned for Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes except Co(L)2(NO3)2 and Ni(L)2(NO3)2 which are of tetrahedral geometry. A tetragonal geometry may be suggested for Cu(II) complexes.  相似文献

The thiocarbohydrazone Schiff-base ligand with a nitrogen and sulphur donor was synthesized through condensation of pyridine-2-carbaldehyde and thiocarbohydrazide. Schiff-base ligands have the ability to conjugate with metal salts. A series of metal complexes with a general formula [MCl2(H2L)]·nH2O (MNi, Co, Cu and Zn) were synthesized by forming complexes of the N1,N5-bis[pyridine-2-methylene]-thiocarbohydrazone (H2L) Schiff-base ligand. These metal complexes and ligand were characterized by using ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis), Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR), 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy, physicochemical characterization, CHNS and conductivity. The biological activity of the synthesized ligand was investigated by using Escherichia coli DNA as target. The DNA interaction of the synthesized ligand and complexes on E. coli plasmid DNA was investigated in the aqueous medium by UV-Vis spectroscopy and the binding constant (Kb) was calculated. The DNA binding studies showed that the metal complexes had an improved interaction due to trans-geometrical isomers of the complexes than ligand isomers in cis-positions.  相似文献

Cobalt (II), nickel (II), copper (II) and manganese (II) complexes of dihydrazone derived from the condensation of oxaloyldihydrazide with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde have been synthesized. The dihydrazone ligand/chelates were characterized on the basis of their elemental analyses, spectral (UV–Vis., FT-IR, mass, 1H NMR), magnetism, thermal (TGA) measurements and structures of the compounds have been established. The surface morphology of the desired complexes was studied by SEM. The ligand is coordinated to the Ni(II), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cu(II) centers in bi, tetra, penta and hexadentate way giving mono-nuclear complexes except in case of manganese and copper the bi-nuclear complexes were formed. The nickel complex has tetrahedral geometry while the other complexes are suggested to have octahedral configurations. The prepared samples have been assayed for their electrical activities. The electrical activity (DC and AC conductivity) for ligand and its metal complexes has been examined at different frequencies (1, 10, 100 kHz) in the temperature ranges 303–573 and 300–625 K, respectively. The DC and AC conductivity are viewed as thermally activated process at higher temperatures and a marked increment was seen in case of Mn(II) complex. The dielectric permittivity was determined in the temperature area of 300–625 K and diminished with augmentation of frequency proposing a typical behavior of dielectrics.  相似文献

Complexes of cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) with a new tetraaza macrocyclic ligand have been synthesized and characterized by microanalyses, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, mass, thermogravimetric (TGA), IR, 1H and 13C NMR, electronic and ESR spectral studies. All the complexes are found to have the formula [MLX2]x nH2O and are six-coordinated with distorted octahedral geometry.  相似文献

Four new mixed ligand complexes were prepared by the reaction of title metal dichloroacetates and 2,4'-bipyridine. The general formulae of synthesized compounds are M(2,4'-bpy)2(CCl2HCOO)2·nH2O (where M(II)=Mn, Co, Ni, Cu; 2,4'-bpy=2,4'-bipyridine, n=2 or 4). The complexes have been isolated from aqueous media and characterized by chemical analysis, molar conductance (in MeOH, DMSO and DMF), magnetic, IR and VIS spectral studies. The nature of metal(II)-ligand coordination is discussed. The thermal behaviour of obtained complexes was studied by thermal analysis and TG-MS techniques in air. IR, X-ray powder diffraction and thermoanalytical data were used for the determination of solid intermediate products of the thermal decomposition. The principal volatile products of thermal decomposition of complexes were proved by mass spectroscopy: H2O+, CO+ 2, HCl+ 2, Cl+ 2, NO+ and other. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Previously unknown [ML2(H2O) n ] bischelates, where M is Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), or Cu(II) and L is deprotonated triformylmethane, are studied by X-ray diffraction analysis. It is revealed that in the crystals of all compounds there are multiple hydrogen bonds linking bischelate molecules into polymer layers or a single framework. The character of the temperature dependence of the effective magnetic moment [ML2(H2O) n ] indicates the existences of weak intracrystalline exchange interactions between the unpaired electrons of the paramagnetic centers.  相似文献

Manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes with 1,5,11,15-tetraaza-21,22-dioxo-tricyclo [19,3,1,I6,10]-5,10,15-20-dicosatetraene (L), as a new macrocyclicligand, have been synthesized with and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The molar conductance measurements of the complexes in DMF correspond to non-electrolytic nature of Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes, while showing a 1:2 electrolyte for thew Ni(II) complexe. Thus, these complexes may be formulated as [M(L)X2] and [Ni(L)]X2 (where M = Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) and X = Cl- and NO3 -). On the basis of IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies, an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Mn(II) and Co(II), a square planar for Ni(II) and tetragonal for Cu(II) complexes. In vitro ligand and its metal complexes were also screened against the growth of some fungal and bacterial species in order to assess their antimicrobial properties.  相似文献

Under the thermolysis condition, 5-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-2,3-furandione (IV) in inert aprotic solvents as p-xylene at 130–140°C yields 3-benzoyl-4-hydroxy-6-phenyl-2H-pyran-2-one (VI) via phenyl ketene (V). The compound (VI) was converted into the corresponding 3-benzoyl-4-hydroxy-6-phenylpyridin-2(1H)-one (VII), and 3-benzoyl-2-oxo-6-phenyl-2H-pyran-4-yl acetate (VIII), by its reactions with ammonium hydroxyde, and acetic anhydride, respectively. On the other hand, a series of new various metal complexes (IX-XIa, XIb) of VI was synthesized. The results suggest that the compound VI as bidentate ligand indicate a binuclear structure for the Cu(II) complex with square-planar geometry. The Ni(II) and Zn(II) complexes are of tetrahedral and the Co(II) complex is also octahedral geometry with water molecules at the axial positions. The structures of compounds and complexes were characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, Mass, IR, 1H, and 13C NMR spectra. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

A series of metal complexes of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) have been synthesized with the Schiff base derived from thiocarbohydrazide and 8-formyl-7-hydroxy-4-methylcoumarin. The structures of the complexes have been proposed by elemental analyses, molar conductance, spectral (IR, UV-Vis, ESR and FAB-mass), magnetic, thermal and electrochemical studies. These complexes are soluble in DMF and DMSO and molar conductance values indicate that they are non-electrolytes. Elemental analyses of the complexes confirm stoichiometry ML ·; 2H2O [M=Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II)]. Spectroscopic studies indicate coordination occurs through phenolic oxygen after deprotonation and nitrogen of azomethine. The Schiff base and its complexes have also been screened for antibacterial (Escherichia coli, Streptococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and antifungal activities (Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus and cladosporium) by the MIC method. The brine shrimp bioassay was also carried out to study their in vitro cytotoxic properties.  相似文献

The Schiff bases of N(2)O(2) dibasic ligands, H(2)La and H(2)Lb are prepared by the condensation of ethylenediamine (a) and trimethylenediamine (b) with 6-formyl-7-hydroxy-5-methoxy-2-methylbenzopyran-4-one. Also tetra basic ligands, H(4)La and H(4)Lb are prepared by the condensation of aliphatic amines (a) and (b) with 6-formyl-5,7-dihydroxy-2-methylbenzopyran-4-one. New complexes of H(4)La and H(4)Lb with metal ions Mn(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) are synthesized, in addition Mn(II) complexes with ligands H(2)La and H(2)Lb are also synthesized. Elemental and thermal analyses, infrared, ultraviolet-visible as well as conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements are used to elucidate the structure of the newly prepared metal complexes. The structures of copper(II) complexes are also assigned based upon ESR spectra study. All the complexes separated with the stoichiometric ratio (1:1) (M:L) except Mn-H(4)La and Mn-H(4)Lb with (2:1) (M:L) molar ratio. In metal chelates of the type 1:1 (M:L), the Schiff bases behave as a dinegative N(2)O(2) tetradentate ligands. Moreover in 2:1 (M:L) complexes, the Schiff base molecules act as mono negative bidentate ligand and binuclear complex is then formed. The Schiff bases were assayed by the disc diffusion method for antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The antifungal activity of the Schiff bases was also evaluated against the fungi Aspergillus flavus and Candida albicans.  相似文献
