In this paper, we carry out an a posteriori error analysis of Legendre spectral
approximations to the Stokes/Darcy coupled equations. The spectral approximations
are based on a weak formulation of the coupled equations by using the Beavers-Joseph-Saffman interface condition. The main contribution of the paper consists of deriving
a number of posteriori error indicators and their upper and lower bounds for the single domain case. An extension of the upper bounds to the multi-domain case in the

In this paper we develop an a posteriori error analysis of a fully-mixed finite element method for a fluid-solid interaction problem in 2D. The media are governed by the elastodynamic and acoustic equations in time-harmonic regime, respectively, the transmission conditions are given by the equilibrium of forces and the equality of the corresponding normal displacements, and the fluid is supposed to occupy an annular region surrounding the solid, so that a Robin boundary condition imitating the behavior of the Sommerfeld condition is imposed on its exterior boundary. Dual-mixed approaches are applied in both domains, and the governing equations are employed to eliminate the displacement u of the solid and the pressure $p$ of the fluid. In addition, since both transmission conditions become essential, they are enforced weakly by means of two suitable Lagrange multipliers. The unknowns of the solid and the fluid are then approximated by a conforming Galerkin scheme defined in terms of PEERS elements in the solid, Raviart-Thomas of lowest order in the fluid, and continuous piecewise linear functions on the boundary. As the main contribution of this work, we derive a reliable and efficient residual-based a posteriori error estimator for the aforedescribed coupled problem. Some numerical results confirming the properties of the estimator are also reported. 相似文献

We use Galerkin least-squares terms and biorthogonal wavelet bases to develop a new stabilized dual-mixed finite element method for second-order elliptic equations in divergence form with Neumann boundary conditions. The approach introduces the trace of the solution on the boundary as a new unknown that acts also as a Lagrange multiplier. We show that the resulting stabilized dual-mixed variational formulation and the associated discrete scheme defined with Raviart–Thomas spaces are well-posed and derive the usual a priori error estimates and the corresponding rate of convergence. Furthermore, a reliable and efficient residual-based a posteriori error estimator and a reliable and quasi-efficient one are provided. 相似文献

A low order nonconforming mixed finite element method (FEM) is established for the fully coupled non-stationary incompressible magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) problem in a bounded domain in 3D. The lowest order finite elements on tetrahedra or hexahedra are chosen to approximate the pressure, the velocity field and the magnetic field, in which the hydrodynamic unknowns are approximated by inf-sup stable finite element pairs and the magnetic field by $H^1(\Omega)$-conforming finite elements, respectively. The existence and uniqueness of the approximate solutions are shown. Optimal order error estimates of $L^2(H^1)$-norm for the velocity field, $L^2(L^2)$-norm for the pressure and the broken $L^2(H^1)$-norm for the magnetic field are derived. 相似文献

This paper aims at a general guideline to obtain a posteriori error estimates for the finite element error control in computational partial differential equations. In the abstract setting of mixed formulations, a generalised formulation of the corresponding residuals is proposed which then allows for the unified estimation of the respective dual norms. Notably, this can be done with an approach which is applicable in the same way to conforming, nonconforming and mixed discretisations. Subsequently, the unified approach is applied to various model problems. In particular, we consider the Laplace, Stokes, Navier-Lamé, and the semi-discrete eddy current equations. 相似文献

By means of eigenvalue error expansion and integral expansion techniques, we propose and analyze the stream function-vorticity-pressure
method for the eigenvalue problem associated with the Stokes equations on the unit square. We obtain an optimal order of convergence
for eigenvalues and eigenfuctions. Furthermore, for the bilinear finite element space, we derive asymptotic expansions of
the eigenvalue error, an efficient extrapolation and an a posteriori error estimate for the eigenvalue. Finally, numerical
experiments are reported.

In this article, we shall give a brief review on the fully discrete mixed finite element method for general optimal control problems governed by parabolic equations. The state and the co-state are approximated by the lowest order Raviart–Thomas mixed finite element spaces and the control is approximated by piecewise constant elements. Furthermore, we derive a posteriori error estimates for the finite element approximation solutions of optimal control problems.
