In this paper we present a pair of Wolfe and Mond-Weir type higher-order symmetric dual programs for multiobjective symmetric programming problems. Different types of higher-order duality results (weak, strong and converse duality) are established for the above higher-order symmetric dual programs under higher-order invexity and higher-order pseudo-invexity assumptions. High-order flexural theories for short laminated composite beams subjected to mechanical and thermal loading are presented. The formulation allows for warping of the cross-section of the beam and eliminates the need for using arbitrary shear correction coefficients as in other theories. Based on higher-order shear deformation theories, the governing equations are obtained using the principle of virtual work (PVW). The justification for use of higher-order shear deformation theories is established for short and composite beams where cross-sectional warping is predominant.  相似文献

Some philosophers have claimed that it is meaningless or paradoxical to consider the probability of a probability. Others have however argued that second-order probabilities do not pose any particular problem. We side with the latter group. On condition that the relevant distinctions are taken into account, second-order probabilities can be shown to be perfectly consistent.May the same be said of an infinite hierarchy of higher-order probabilities? Is it consistent to speak of a probability of a probability, and of a probability of a probability of a probability, and so on, ad infinitum? We argue that it is, for it can be shown that there exists an infinite system of probabilities that has a model. In particular, we define a regress of higher-order probabilities that leads to a convergent series which determines an infinite-order probability value. We demonstrate the consistency of the regress by constructing a model based on coin-making machines.  相似文献

In this paper, we proposed a higher-order moment method in the lattice Boltzmann model for the conservation law equation. In contrast to the lattice Bhatnagar–Gross–Krook (BGK) model, the higher-order moment method has a wide flexibility to select equilibrium distribution function. This method is based on so-called a series of partial differential equations obtained by using multi-scale technique and Chapman–Enskog expansion. According to Hirt’s heuristic stability theory, the stability of the scheme can be controlled by modulating some special moments to design the third-order dispersion term and the fourth-order dissipation term. As results, the conservation law equation is recovered with higher-order truncation error. The numerical examples show the higher-order moment method can be used to raise the accuracy of the truncation error of the lattice Boltzmann scheme for the conservation law equation.  相似文献

EQ-algebras     
We introduce a new class of algebras called EQ-algebras. An EQ-algebra has three basic binary operations (meet, multiplication and a fuzzy equality) and a top element. These algebras are intended to become algebras of truth values for a higher-order fuzzy logic (a fuzzy type theory, FTT). The motivation stems from the fact that until now, the truth values in FTT were assumed to form either an IMTL-, BL-, or MV-algebra, all of them being special kinds of residuated lattices in which the basic operations are the monoidal operation (multiplication) and its residuum. The latter is a natural interpretation of implication in fuzzy logic; the equivalence is then interpreted by the biresiduum, a derived operation. The basic connective in FTT, however, is a fuzzy equality and, therefore, it is not natural to interpret it by a derived operation. This defect is expected to be removed by the class of EQ-algebras introduced and studied in this paper. From the algebraic point of view, the class of EQ-algebras generalizes, in a certain sense, the class of residuated lattices and so, they may become an interesting class of algebraic structures as such.  相似文献

In this paper, we derive blow-up rates for higher-order semilinear parabolic equations and systems. Our proof is by contradiction and uses a scaling argument. This procedure reduces the problems of blow-up rate to Fujita-type theorems. In addition, we also give some new Fujita-type theorems for higher-order semilinear parabolic equations and systems with the time variable on R. This paper discusses the existence and stability of solitary-wave solutions of a general higher-order Benjamin-Bona-Mahony (BBM) equation, which involves pseudo-differential operators for the linear part. One of such equations can be derived from water-wave problems as second-order approximate equations from fully nonlinear governing equations. Under some conditions on the symbols of pseudo-differential operators and the nonlinear terms, it is shown that the general higher-order BBM equation has solitary-wave solutions. Moreover, under slightly more restrictive conditions, the set of solitary-wave solutions is orbitally stable. Here, the equation has a nonlinear part involving the polynomials of solution and its derivatives with different degrees (not homogeneous), which has not been studied before. Numerical stability and instability of solitary-wave solutions for some special fifth-order BBM equations are also given.  相似文献

In this paper we construct models obtained by suitably combining Brownian motions and telegraphs in such a way that their transition functions satisfy higher-order parabolic or hyperbolic equations of different types. Equations with time-varying coefficients are also derived by considering processes endowed either with drift or with suitable modifications of their structure. Finally the distribution of the maximum of the iterated Brownian motion (along with some other properties) is presented. In this work, we study the solutions of some fractional higher-order equations. Special cases in which time-fractional derivatives take integer values are also examined and the explicit solutions are presented. Such solutions can be expressed by means of the transition laws of stable subordinators and their inverse processes.
