Abstract

We continue the work begun in [12] on noncommutative C?-Segal algebras, with an emphasis on the order structure. We extend and improve the main results of [12], and characterize the C?-Segal algebras with an order unitization.  相似文献

The dual X of a Banach space X admits a dual σ-LUR norm if (and only if) X admits a σ-weak Kadets norm if and only if X admits a dual weak LUR norm and moreover X is σ-Asplund generated.  相似文献

In this paper we study equivalent formulations of the DP? Pp (1 < p < ∞). We show that X has the DP? Pp if and only if every weakly-p-Cauchy sequence in X is a limited subset of X. We give su?cient conditions on Banach spaces X and Y so that the projective tensor product X ?π Y, the dual (X ?? Y)? of their injective tensor product, and the bidual (X ?π Y)?? of their projective tensor product, do not have the DP Pp, 1 < p < ∞. We also show that in some cases, the projective and the injective tensor products of two spaces do not have the DP? Pp, 1 < p < ∞.  相似文献

We show that in the dual of Weak L1 the subspace of all rearrangement invariant continuous linear functionals is lattice isometric to a space L1(μ) and is the linear hull of the maximal elements of the dual unit ball. We also show that the dual of Weak L1 contains a norm closed weak* dense ideal which is lattice isometric to an 1-sum of spaces of type C(K). Helmut H. Schaefer in memoriam  相似文献

It is shown that a nuclear Fréchet spaceE has the property (DN) if and only if every holomorphic function onE *, the strongly dual space ofE, with values in the strongly dual space of a Fréchet spaceF having the property ( ) can be represented in the exponential form. Moreover, it is shown that the space of holomorphic functions onC , the space of all complex number sequences, has a linearly absolutely exponential representation system. But the space of holomorphic functions onE * does not have such a system whenE is a nuclear Fréchet space that does not have the property (DN).Supported by the State Program for Fundamental Researches in Natural Sciences  相似文献

We introduce a new asymptotic one-sided and symmetric tensor norm, the latter of which can be considered as the minimal tensor norm on the category of separable C*-algebras with homotopy classes of asymptotic homomorphisms as morphisms. We show that the one-sided asymptotic tensor norm differs in general from both the minimal and the maximal tensor norms and discuss its relation to semi-invertibility of C*-extensions. Function spaces whose definition involves the quantity f**-f*, which measures the oscillation of f*, have recently attracted plenty of interest and proved to have many applications in various, quite diverse fields. Primary role is played by the spaces Sp(w), with 0<p<∞ and w a weight function on (0,∞), defined as the set of Lebesgue-measurable functions on R such that f*(∞)=0 and

Given two Banach function spaces X and Y related to a measure μ, the Y-dual space XY of X is defined as the space of the multipliers from X to Y. The space XY is a generalization of the classical Köthe dual space of X, which is obtained by taking Y = Lt(μ). Under minimal conditions, we can consider the Y-bidual space XYY of X (i.e. the Y-dual of XY). As in the classical case, the containment X ⊂ XYY always holds. We give conditions guaranteeing that X coincides with XYY, in which case X is said to be Y-perfect. We also study when X is isometrically embedded in XYY. Properties involving p-convexity, p-concavity and the order of X and Y, will have a special relevance.  相似文献

We discuss the representation theory of both the locally convex and non-locally convex topological*-algebras. First we discuss the*-representation of topological*-algebras by operators on a Hilbert space. Then we study those topological*-algebras so that every*-representation of which on a Hilbert space is necessarily continuous. It is well-known that each*-representation of aB *-algebra on a Hilbert space is continuous. We show that this is true for a large class of*-algebras more general thanB *-algebras, including certain non-locally convex*-algebras. Finally, we investigate the conditions under which a positive functional on a topological*-algebra is representable. The research of the first-named author was partially supported by an NSERC grant. Let H be a separable complex Hilbert space, A a von Neumann algebra in ?(H),a faithful, normal state on A. We prove that if a sequence (Xn: n ≥ 1) of uncorrelated operators in A is bundle convergent to some operator X in A and Σn=1n−2 Var(Xn) log2(n + 1) < ∞, then X is proportional to the identity operator on H. We also prove an analogous theorem for certain uncorrelated vectors in the completion L2=L2(A,φ) of A given by the Gelfand-Naimark-Segal representation theorem. Both theorems were motivated by a recent one proved by Etemadi and Lenzhen in the classical commutative setting.  相似文献

V. Pták's inequality is valid for every hermitian completeQ locallym-convex (:l.m.c.) algebra. Every algebra of the last kind is, in particular, symmetric. Besides, a (Hausdorff) locallyC *-algebra (being always symmetric) with the propertyQ is, within a topological algebraic isomorphism, aC *-algebra. Furthermore, a type of Raikov's criterion for symmetry is also valid for non-normed topological*-algebras. Concerning topological tensor products, one gets that symmetry of the-completed tensor product of two unital Fréchet l.m.c.*-algebrasE, F ( denotes the projective tensorial topology) is always passed toE, F, while the converse occurs when moreover either ofE, F is commutative.  相似文献

We study several properties of the Banach lattices Lp (m) and Lpw (m) of p-integrable scalar functions and weakly p-integrable scalar functions with respect to a countably additive vector measure m. The relation between these two spaces plays a fundamental role in our analysis. This research has been partially supported by La Consejería de Educatión y Ciencia de la Junta de Andalucía.  相似文献

Let X be a (real or complex) Banach space and 1<p,p′<∞ such that 1/p+1/p′=1. Then , the injective tensor product of Lp[0,1] and X, has the Radon-Nikodym property (resp. the analytic Radon-Nikodym property, the near Radon-Nikodym property, contains no copy of c0, is weakly sequentially complete) if and only if X has the same property and each continuous linear operator from Lp[0,1] to X is compact.  相似文献

We derive Banach-Stone theorems for spaces of homogeneous polynomials. We show that every isometric isomorphism between the spaces of homogeneous approximable polynomials on real Banach spaces E and F is induced by an isometric isomorphism of E onto F. With an additional geometric condition we obtain the analogous result in the complex case. Isometries between spaces of homogeneous integral polynomials and between the spaces of all n-homogeneous polynomials are also investigated.  相似文献

Reduced HNN extensions of von Neumann algebras (as well as C*-algebras) will be introduced, and their modular theory, factoriality and ultraproducts will be discussed. In several concrete settings, detailed analysis on them will be also carried out.  相似文献

We study the character amenability of semigroup algebras. We work on general semigroups and certain semigroups such as inverse semigroups with a finite number of idempotents, inverse semigroups with uniformly locally finite idempotent set, Brandt and Rees semigroup and study the character amenability of the semigroup algebra l1(S) in relation to the structures of the semigroup S. In particular, we show that for any semigroup S, if ?1(S) is character amenable, then S is amenable and regular. We also show that the left character amenability of the semigroup algebra ?1(S) on a Brandt semigroup S over a group G with index set J is equivalent to the amenability of G and J being finite. Finally, we show that for a Rees semigroup S with a zero over the group G, the left character amenability of ?1(S) is equivalent to its amenability, this is in turn equivalent to G being amenable.  相似文献

We give necessary conditions and sufficient conditions for sequences of reproducing kernels (kΘ(·, λn))n ≥ 1 to be overcomplete in a given model space KΘp where Θ is an inner function in H, p ∈ (1, ∞), and where (λn)n ≥ 1 is an infinite sequence of pairwise distinct points of Under certain conditions on Θ we obtain an exact characterization of overcompleteness. As a consequence we are able to describe the overcomplete exponential systems in L2 (0, a).  相似文献
