Existence and convergence of solutions to periodic boundary value problems for Kirchhoff equations via coincidence degree method

This paper aims to investigate the existence and convergence of solutions to periodic boundary value problems for one-dimensional Kirchhoff equation. By employing analytical skills and the coincidence degree method, some new results are obtained, which enrich and generalize the previous results.     

The Existence and Uniqueness of the Weak Solution for the Evolutionary Electrochemical Machining Problem

A time dependent electrochemical machining problem, in which the cathode is fed towards the anode with a constant velocity, is studied. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the weak solution for the problem under the assumption that the cathode is C^{1+β} for some β ∈ (0,1).     

Local existence of solution to free boundary value problem for compressible Navier-Stokes equations

This paper is concerned with the free boundary value problem for multi-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations with density-dependent viscosity where the flow density vanishes continuously across the free boundary. Local (in time) existence of a weak solution is established; in particular, the density is positive and the solution is regular away from the free boundary.

运用Leray—Schauder拓扑理论,证明了广义静态梁方程和静态梁方程非负解的存在性,仅要求非线性项f在原点的某个邻域满足一定的符号条件,突破了以往对非线性项f的增长性限制．所获结果对工程设计具有重要的理论意义和实用价值．     

Weak solutions for a class of metaparabolic equations

In this article, the author investigates the initial boundary value problem for a class of metaparabolic equations, which arise in the dynamics of viscous first-order phase transitions in cooling binary solutions. By using the method of continuity, we establish the existence of weak solutions.     

Weak convergence theorems for a countable family of Lipschitzian mappings

This paper is concerned with convergence of an approximating common fixed point sequence of countable Lipschitzian mappings in a uniformly convex Banach space. We also establish weak convergence theorems for finding a common element of the set of fixed points, the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem, and the set of solutions of a variational inequality. With an appropriate setting, we obtain and improve the corresponding results recently proved by Moudafi [A. Moudafi, Weak convergence theorems for nonexpansive mappings and equilibrium problems. J. Nonlinear Convex Anal. 9 (2008) 37–43], Tada–Takahashi [A. Tada and W. Takahashi, Weak and strong convergence theorems for a nonexpansive mapping and an equilibrium problem. J. Optim. Theory Appl. 133 (2007) 359–370], and Plubtieng–Kumam [S. Plubtieng and P. Kumam, Weak convergence theorem for monotone mappings and a countable family of nonexpansive mappings. J. Comput. Appl. Math. (2008) doi:10.1016/j.cam.2008.05.045]. Some of our results are established with weaker assumptions.     

Three solutions of p-Laplacian equations via a critical point theorem of Ricceri

In this paper,we consider the following quasilinear diferential equation(p(u′))′+λf(t,u)=0subject to one of the two boundary conditions:u(0)=u′(1)=0,u′(0)=u(1)=0.After transforming them into a problem of symmetrical solutions,the existence of three solutions of the problem is obtained by using a recent critical point theorem of Recceri.An example is given to demonstrate our main result.

On the regularity of solutions to the drift-diffusion approximation equations in gas discharge theory

An initial-boundary value problem is stated for the nonlinear drift-diffusion equations, which are widely used in gas discharge simulation. The class of nonlinear boundary conditions that ensure the existence and uniqueness of strong solutions is determined.     

Well‐posedness of two‐shape memory model

The aim of this paper is to study shape memory alloys which admit two shape memory effect. This effect results from progressive modification of the admissible mixture of martensites and austenite. The predictive theory of this education phenomenon has been developed by Frémond. We discuss the education model of Frémond and establish the solvability and uniqueness results. Periodic solutions of discontinuous second order differential equations. The porpoising effect

We construct a mathematical model in order to study the so called porpoising effect in racing cars, and prove that, when adding a small periodic perturbation, large-amplitude subharmonic solutions may arise.     

Existence of solutions for fractional differential equations with multi-point boundary conditions

We discuss the existence of solutions for a nonlinear multi-point boundary value problem of integro-differential equations of fractional order q ∈ (1, 2]. Our analysis relies on the contraction mapping principle and the Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem. Example is provided to illustrate the theory.     

Infinitely many solutions for perturbed difference equations

Using variational methods and critical point theory, the existence of infinitely many solutions for perturbed nonlinear difference equations with discrete Dirichlet boundary conditions is ensured.

A class of evolution equations: Existence of solutions with functional boundary conditions

We consider the evolution equation whose right-hand side is the sum of a linear unbounded operator generating a compact strongly continuous semigroup and a continuous operator acting in function spaces. We prove the existence of a solution that stays within a given closed convex set and moreover, satisfies a functional boundary condition, particular cases of which are the Cauchy initial condition, periodicity condition, mixed condition including continuous transformations of spatial variables, etc. The main result is illustrated by using an example of the boundary-value problem for a partial operator-differential equation.
