Convex solutions of polynomial-like iterative equations

In this paper convex solutions and concave solutions of polynomial-like iterative equations are investigated. A result for non-monotonic solutions is given first and applied then to prove the existence of convex continuous solutions and concave ones. Furthermore, another condition for convex solutions, which is weaker in some aspects, is also given. The uniqueness and stability of those solutions are also discussed.     

On rogue wave in the Kundu-DNLS equation

In this paper, the determinant representation of the n-fold Darboux transformation (DT) of the Kundu-DNLS equation is given. Based on our analysis, the soliton solutions, positon solutions and breather solutions of the Kundu-DNLS equation are given explicitly. Further, we also construct the rogue wave solutions which are given by using the Taylor expansion of the breather solution. Particularly, these rogue wave solutions possess several free parameters. With the help of these parameters, these rogue waves constitute several patterns, such as fundamental pattern, triangular pattern, circular pattern.     

Die Polynomlösungen spezieller partieller Differentialgleichungen

One of the main problems in the theory of orthogonal polynomials in several variables is the determination of partial differential equations which have the given polynomials as their solutions. In this note, we consider partial differential equations which are two-dimensional generalizations of the classical differential equation for the Chebyshev polynomials in one variable and we will give conditions for its polynomial solutions. In addition, we will be able to determine all polynomials of a given class which are solutions of the partial differential equation under consideration. In the last section, we establish a connection between the different polynomial solutions.

New exact travelling wave solutions of Kawahara type equations

The Auxiliary equation method is used to find analytic solutions for the Kawahara and modified Kawahara equations. It is well known that different types of exact solutions of the given auxiliary equation produce new types of exact travelling wave solutions to nonlinear equations. In this paper, new exact solutions of the auxiliary equation are presented. Using these solutions, many new exact travelling wave solutions for the Kawahara type equations are obtained.     

More on oscillation ofnth-order equations

In this paper we prove that a higher-order differential equation with one middle term has every bounded solution oscillatory. Moreover, the behavior of unbounded solutions is given. Two other results dealing with positive solutions are also given.     

Mappings by the solutions of second-order elliptic equations

The properties of mappings by the solutions of second-order elliptic partial differential equations in the plane are studied. We obtain conditions on a function, continuous on the unit circle, that are sufficient for the solution of the Dirichlet problem in the open unit disk for the given equation with the given boundary function to be a homeomorphism between the open unit disk and a Jordan simply connected domain. The properties of the zeros of the solutions of the given equations are also studied. In particular, an analog of the main theorem of algebra is proved for polynomial solutions.

EXISTENCE OF NONNEGATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR DEGENERATE ECOLOGICAL MODELS

In this paper,nonnegative solutions for the degenerate elliptic systems are considered.First,nonnegative solutions for scalar equation with spatial discontinuities are studied. Then themethod developed for scalar equation is applied to study elliptic systems. At last,the existence criteria of nonnegative solutions of elliptic systems are given.

Equilibrium points, stability and numerical solutions of fractional-order predator-prey and rabies models

In this paper we are concerned with the fractional-order predator-prey model and the fractional-order rabies model. Existence and uniqueness of solutions are proved. The stability of equilibrium points are studied. Numerical solutions of these models are given. An example is given where the equilibrium point is a centre for the integer order system but locally asymptotically stable for its fractional-order counterpart.

Bifurcation from single periodic orbit in discontinuous autonomous systems

This article is devoted to the study of bifurcations of periodic solutions for discontinuous autonomous systems from single periodic solutions of unperturbed discontinuous equations. In addition, local asymptotic properties of derived perturbed periodic solutions are also investigated. An example of planar discontinuous ordinary differential equations is given to illustrate the theory.     

Partial dynamic equations on time scales

In this work, we generalize existing ideas of the univariate case of the time scales calculus to the bivariate case. Formal definitions of partial derivatives and iterated integrals are offered, and bivariate partial differential operators are examined. In particular, solutions of the homogeneous and nonhomogeneous heat and wave operators are found when initial distributions given are in terms of elementary functions by means of the generalized Laplace Transform for the time scale setting. Finally, the so-termed mixed time scale setting is discussed. Examples are given and solutions are provided in tabular form.

Multi-compacton and double symmetric peakon for generalized Ostrovsky equation

In this paper, the generalized Ostrovsky equation is introduced. Using a direct and effective method, some new solitary solutions to the generalized Ostrovsky equation, such as compacton solutions, multi-compacton solutions and compact-like kink solutions can be obtained. The homogenous balance (HB) method is used to obtain the Backlund transformation. And some new solitary solutions, particularly new double symmetric peakon solutions, are given by the transformation.

Bifurcations of travelling wave solutions for the Gilson–Pickering equation

In this paper, the qualitative behavior and exact travelling wave solutions of the Gilson–Pickering equation are studied by using the qualitative theory of polynomial differential system. The phase portraits of the system are given under different parametric conditions. Some exact travelling wave solutions of the Gilson–Pickering equation are obtained. Under different parametric conditions, various sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence of smooth and non-smooth travelling wave solutions are given.
