In this paper, we investigate whether the 124 nonsingular toric Fano 4-folds admit totally nondegenerate embeddings from abelian surfaces or not. In consequence, we determine the possibilities of these embeddings, except for the remaining 18 nonsingular toric Fano 4-folds. Received: 12 July 2002  相似文献

The versal deformation of Stanley–Reisner schemes associated to equivelar triangulations of the torus is studied. The deformation space is defined by binomials and there is a toric smoothing component which I describe in terms of cones and lattices. Connections to moduli of abelian surfaces are considered. The case of the Möbius torus is especially nice and leads to a projective Calabi–Yau 3-fold with Euler number 6.  相似文献

We use Matsui and Takeuchi's formula for toric A-discriminants to give algorithms for computing local Euler obstructions and dual degrees of toric surfaces and 3-folds. In particular, we consider weighted projective spaces. As an application we give counterexamples to a conjecture by Matsui and Takeuchi. As another application we recover the well-known fact that the only defective normal toric surfaces are cones.  相似文献

We reduce the problem of the projective normality of polarized abelian varieties to check the rank of very explicit matrices. This allows us to prove some results on normal generation of primitive line bundles on abelian threefolds and fourfolds. We also give two situations where the projective normality always fails. Finally we make some conjecture. Received: 1 September 2004; revised: 10 March 2005  相似文献

In this note we apply the techniques of the toric systems introduced by Hille–Perling to several problems on smooth projective surfaces: We showed that the existence of full exceptional collection of line bundles implies the rationality for small Picard rank surfaces; we proved equivalences of several notions of cyclic strong exceptional collection of line bundles; we also proposed a partial solution to a conjecture on exceptional sheaves on weak del Pezzo surfaces.  相似文献

In this paper we give a geometric characterization of the cones of toric varieties that are complete intersections. In particular, we prove that the class of complete intersection cones is the smallest class of cones which is closed under direct sum and contains all simplex cones. Further, we show that the number of the extreme rays of such a cone, which is less than or equal to 2n − 2, is exactly 2n − 2 if and only if the cone is a bipyramidal cone, where n > 1 is the dimension of the cone. Finally, we characterize all toric varieties whose associated cones are complete intersection cones. Received: 4 July 2005  相似文献

In this paper, we study projective normality of abelian surfaces, with embeddings given by ample line bundles of type (1,d). We show that if d≥ 7, the generic abelian surface is projectively normal. Received: 12 June 1998  相似文献

Blowups of algebraic surfaces polarized by tensor powers of ample line bundles were studied by Coppens [8]. In this note we complete the picture in the case of abelian surfaces studying blowups of surfaces polarized by primitive line bundles. A formula for the irregularity of abelian coverings of smooth projective surfaces is established. Explicit computations are performed and some applications are presented.  相似文献

In this note, we study the action of finite groups of symplectic automorphisms on K3 surfaces which yield quotients birational to generalized Kummer surfaces. For each possible group, we determine the Picard number of the K3 surface admitting such an action and for singular K3 surfaces we show the uniqueness of the associated abelian surface. We apply the methods of C a?ld?raru to construct a twisted Fourier-Mukai transform between a pair of holomorphic symplectic four-folds which are fibred by Lagrangian abelian surfaces. More precisely, we obtain an equivalence between the derived category of coherent sheaves on a certain Lagrangian fibration and the derived category of twisted sheaves on its ‘mirror’ partner. As a corollary, we extend the original Fourier-Mukai transform to degenerations of abelian surfaces. Another consequence of the general theory is that the holomorphic symplectic four-fold and its mirror are connected by a one-parameter family of deformations through Lagrangian fibrations.  相似文献

This note shows that a certain toric quotient of the quintic Calabi-Yau threefold in provides a counterexample to a recent conjecture of Cox and Katz concerning nef cones of toric hypersurfaces. The nef cone volume appeared first in work of Peyre in a number-theoretic context on Fano varieties, and was then studied by Derenthal and co-authors in a series of papers on del Pezzo surfaces. The idea was subsequently extended to also measure the Zariski chambers of del Pezzo surfaces. We start in this paper to explore the possibility to use this attractive concept to effectively measure the size of the nef cone on algebraic surfaces in general. This provides an interesting way of measuring in how big a space an ample line bundle can be moved without destroying its positivity. We give here complete results for simple abelian surfaces that admit a principal polarization and for products of elliptic curves.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider basic problems on moduli spaces of stable sheaves on abelian surfaces. Our main assumption is the primitivity of the associated Mukai vector. We determine the deformation types, albanese maps, Bogomolov factors and their weight 2 Hodge structures. We also discuss the deformation types of moduli spaces of stable sheaves on K3 surfaces. We study toric varieties over a field k that split in a Galois extension using Galois cohomology with coefficients in the toric automorphism group. Part of this Galois cohomology fits into an exact sequence induced by the presentation of the class group of the toric variety. This perspective helps to compute the Galois cohomology, particularly for cyclic Galois groups. We use Galois cohomology to classify k‐forms of projective spaces when is cyclic, and we also study k‐forms of surfaces.  相似文献

Let D be an integer matrix. A toric set, namely the points in Kn parametrized by the columns of D, and a toric variety are associated to D. The toric set is a subset of the toric variety. We describe the relation between the toric set and the toric variety, in terms of the orbits of the torus action on the toric variety. The toric set depends on the sign (+,−,0) pattern of the matrix D. Finally, we prove that any toric variety over an algebraically closed field can be expressed as a toric set, for an appropriate matrix.  相似文献

We introduce and study a new way to categorize supersingular abelian varieties defined over a finite field by classifying them as fully maximal, mixed or fully minimal. The type of A depends on the normalized Weil numbers of A and its twists. We analyze these types for supersingular abelian varieties and curves under conditions on the automorphism group. In particular, we present a complete analysis of these properties for supersingular elliptic curves and supersingular abelian surfaces in arbitrary characteristic, and for a one-dimensional family of supersingular curves of genus 3 in characteristic 2.  相似文献
