Using the Heisenberg uncertainty relationship and the stationary perturbation theory we consider two-electron states in a spherically symmetric parabolic quantum dot (parabolic helium atom). The dependence of ground-state energy on the QD size is studied. The energy of two-electron system monotonically decreases with QD radius increase. The problem of the state exchange time control in QD is discussed, taking into account the spins of the electrons in the Russell–Saunders approximation. With the increase of the QD radius the state exchange time increases.  相似文献

Ground-state properties of a two-dimensional quantum dot composed of N electrons and an impurity are investigated by the Thomas–Fermi (TF) method at T=0. The changes induced by the impurity in electron density, chemical potential and total energy are calculated. Calculations are also performed for different number of particles and strength of confinement. The results indicate that Thomas–Fermi approximation is applicable even when the system contains only a few particles.  相似文献

基于Lee-Low-Pines幺正变换,采用Pekar类型变分法研究了抛物量子点中强耦合磁双极化子的内部激发态性质,当考虑自旋和外磁场影响时,推导出二维量子点中强耦合磁双极化子基态的能量E0,声子平均数ˉN0以及第一激发态的能量E1,声子平均数ˉN1随量子点受限强度ω0,介电常数比η,电子-声子耦合强度α和磁场的回旋共振频率ωC的变化规律.结果表明,磁双极化子的基态能量E0和第一激发态能量E1由两电子的单粒子能量E E,两电子间库仑相互作用能E C,电子自旋与磁场相互作用能E s和电子-声子相互作用能E e-ph四部分组成;单粒子"轨道"运动与磁场相互作用导致了第一激发态能级E1分裂为E(1+1)1,E(1-1)1两条,而电子自旋-磁场相互作用的效应又使基态和第一激发态的各能级均产生了三条"精细结构";ˉN0和ˉN1随ω0,α和ωc的增加而增大,E e-ph的取值总是小于零,其绝对值随α,ω0和ωc的增加而增大;电子-声子相互作用的效应是束缚态磁双极化子形成的有力因素,而限定势和电子之间的库仑排斥能的存在不利于束缚态磁双极化子的形成;能量为E(1-1)1的磁双极化子要比能量为E(1+1)1的磁双极化子更容易且更稳定地处于束缚态.  相似文献

We have carried out the theoretical calculation of the differential cross section for the electron Raman scattering process associated with a hydrogenic impurity in a disc-shaped quantum dot (QD). We consider the impurity states confined in a disc-shaped QD with parabolic potential in the presence of an external electric field. Effects of the electric field and the confinement strength on the differential cross section are investigated. We make a comparison about the Raman intensity between with and without the Coulomb interaction. We found that the differential cross section of the hydrogenic impurity in a disc-shaped QD dependent strongly on the confinement strength, the external electric field intensity and the Coulomb interaction.  相似文献

We explore the effect of on and off-center repulsive impurities on regular parabolic dots and their impact on the level structures coupled with a variation in the dot size. Information entropy and probability density are invoked to monitor the pattern of evolution of the electronic states. We have considered Gaussian impurity centers of repulsive type. We have found that the dot size and impurity position interplay in a subtle way to modulate the spatial arrangement of impurity doped dot energy levels. The information entropy profile evinces emergence of resonance-like situations and the probability contour delineates the alteration in the spatial extension of the system for different dot sizes and impurity locations.  相似文献

This paper studies the two-electron total energy and the energy of the electron--electron interaction by using a variational method of Pekar type on the condition of electric--LO-phonon strong coupling in a parabolic quantum dot. It considers the following three cases: 1) two electrons are in the ground state; 2) one electron is in the ground state, the other is in the first-excited state; 3) two electrons are in the first-excited state. The relations of the two-electron total energy and the energy of the electron--electron interaction on the Coulomb binding parameter, the electron-LO-phonon coupling constant and the confinement length of the quantum dot are derived in the three cases.  相似文献

Using the perturbation method and the effective mass approximation, we studied the combined effects of impurity and external electric field on Raman scattering in a spherical quantum dot with a parabolic potential. Based on the computed energies and wave functions, the differential cross-section involved in this process is investigated, and the selection rules are also calculated. Our results suggest that the scattering intensity is strongly affected by the impurity and external electric field considered in this work.  相似文献

We report a detailed theoretical study of the effect of combined electric and magnetic field on the nonlinear optical rectification of a hydrogenic impurity, confined in a two dimensional disk-like quantum dot, with parabolic confinement potential. We use the compact density matrix formalism and iterative method to obtain nonlinear optical rectification and absorption coefficients. To find energy levels and wave functions, we employ exact diagonalization method in the effective mass approximation. As main result, we found that the transition energy from ground to first excited state redshifts with increasing the magnetic field while blueshifts for transition from ground to second excited state, moreover, for former transition, nonlinear optical rectification coefficient decreases with increasing magnetic field in contrast to that occurs for latter one.  相似文献

This paper reports that the ground-state energy of polaron was obtained with strong electron-LO-phonon coupling by using a variational method of the Pekar type in a parabolic quantum dot. Quantum transition is occurred in the quantum system due to the electron-phonon interaction and the influence of temperature. That is the polaron transit from the ground-state to the first-excited state after absorbing a LO-phonon and it causes the change of the polaron lifetime. Numerical calculations are performed and the results illustrate that the ground-state lifetime of the polaron will increase with increasing the ground-state energy of polaron and decrease with increasing the electron-LO-phonon coupling strength, the confinement length of the quantum dot and the temperature.  相似文献

We study the property of magnetopolaron in a parabolic quantum dot under the Rashba spin-orbit interaction (RSOI) by adopting an unitary transformation of Lee-Low-Pines type and the variational method of Pekar type with and without considering the temperature. The temporal spatial distribution of the probability density and the relationships of the oscillating period with the RSOI constant, confinement constant, electron-phonon coupling strength, phonon wave vector and temperature are discussed. The results show that the probability density of the magnetopolaron in the superposition of the ground and first excited state takes periodic oscillation (T0/period) in the presence or absence of temperature. Because of the RSOI, the oscillating period is divided into different branches. Also, the results indicate that the oscillating period increases (decreases) when the RSOI constant, electron-phonon coupling strength and phonon wave vector (the confinement constant) increase in a proper temperature, and the temperature plays a significant role in determining the properties of the polaron.  相似文献

A comparison is given between the variational and strong perturbation techniques. It has been shown that the variational method gives, in general, better results. Also, a new formulation is presented for the strong perturbation technique that depends on a simpler equivalent form of the perturbed part of the Hamiltonian. Moreover, common expressions which are valid for both treatments have been obtained. The results are applied to calculate the binding energy for a hydrogenic impurity placed in a finite confining potential spherical quantum dot in the states (1s), (2p) and (2s). The results obtained hitherto for a central impurity by using the strong perturbation technique are deduced in a much simpler way. As regards the off-central impurity some new expressions have been derived in both treatments. The numerical results for the two states (1s) and (2p) have also been investigated.  相似文献

We consider the electron and hole states in a semiconductor ZnSe spherical quantum dot, in the center of which a magnetic impurity atom of manganese is located. In calculations the quantum dot is approximated by a spherical rectangular well with a finite depth. Within the framework of perturbation theory, the effect of exchange spin interaction of an electron and a hole with a magnetic impurity on the band structure of the system is considered. We calculate the Stark effect and the polarisability of shallow-donor impurity located in the centre of lens shaped quantum dot by a variational method and in the effective-mass approximation. Our theoretical model assumes an infinite confinement to describe the barriers at the dot boundaries and the electric field is considered to be applied in the z-direction. The systematic theoretical investigation contains results with the quantum dot size and the strength of the external field. Our calculations reveal that the interval wherein the polarisability varies depends strongly on the dot size.  相似文献

 We have investigated the effects of the magnetic field which is directed perpendicular to the well on the binding energy of the hydrogenic impurities in an inverse parabolic quantum well (IPQW) with different widths as well as different Al concentrations at the well center. The Al concentration at the barriers was always xmax=0.3. The calculations were performed within the effective mass approximation, using a variational method. We observe that IPQW structure turns into parabolic quantum well with the inversion effect of the magnetic field and donor impurity binding energy in IPQW strongly depends on the magnetic field, Al concentration at the well center and well dimensions.  相似文献

在有效质量近似下,采用微扰法研究了InAs/GaAs量子点内类氢杂质基态及低激发态的束缚能.受限势采用抛物形势,在二维平面极坐标下,精确地求解了电子的薛定谔方程.数值计算结果表明,类氢杂质基态及低激发态的束缚能敏感地依赖于抛物形势的角频率,受类氢杂质的影响,谱线发生蓝移.这一结果对设计和制备量子点器件是有价值的.  相似文献

In this paper, we studied the effects of an electric field on a hydrogenic impurity confined in a spherical parabolic quantum dot using nondegenerate and degenerate perturbation methods. The binding energies of the ground and three low-excited states are calculated as a function of the confinement strength and as a function of the intensity of an applied electric field. Moreover, we computed the oscillator strength and the second-order nonlinear optical rectification coefficient based on the computed energies and wave functions. The results show that the electric and optical properties of hydrogenic impurity states are strongly affected by the confinement strength and the applied electric field.  相似文献
