Monotone Schwarz iterative methods for parabolic partial differential equations are well known for their advantage of eliminating the search for an initial solution. In this article, we propose a monotone Schwarz iterative method for singularly perturbed parabolic retarded differential-difference equations based on a three-step Taylor Galerkin finite element scheme. The stability and ε-uniform convergence of the three-step Taylor Galerkin finite element method have been discussed. Further, by using maximum principle and induction hypothesis, the convergence of the proposed monotone Schwarz iterative method has been established.  相似文献

Summary This paper presents an existence-comparison theorem and an iterative method for a nonlinear finite difference system which corresponds to a class of semilinear parabolic and elliptic boundary-value problems. The basic idea of the iterative method for the computation of numerical solutions is the monotone approach which involves the notion of upper and lower solutions and the construction of monotone sequences from a suitable linear discrete system. Using upper and lower solutions as two distinct initial iterations, two monotone sequences from a suitable linear system are constructed. It is shown that these two sequences converge monotonically from above and below, respectively, to a unique solution of the nonlinear discrete equations. This formulation leads to a well-posed problem for the nonlinear discrete system. Applications are given to several models arising from physical, chemical and biological systems. Numerical results are given to some of these models including a discussion on the rate of convergence of the monotone sequences.  相似文献

This paper deals with discrete monotone iterative methods for solving semilinear singularly perturbed parabolic problems. Monotone sequences, based on the accelerated monotone iterative method, are constructed for a nonlinear difference scheme which approximates the semilinear parabolic problem. We obtain nonsymmetric upper and lower bounds on the rate of convergence of general monotone approximation/numerical schemes for parabolic Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equations by introducing a new notion of consistency. Our results are robust and general - they improve and extend earlier results by Krylov, Barles, and Jakobsen. We apply our general results to various schemes including Crank-Nicholson type finite difference schemes, splitting methods, and the classical approximation by piecewise constant controls. In the first two cases our results are new, and in the last two cases the results are obtained by a new method which we develop here.

This paper deals with discrete monotone iterative methods for solving semilinear singularly perturbed parabolic problems. In this paper, we consider finite element schemes applied to the Dirichlet problem for the system of nonlinear elliptic equations, based on piecewise linear polynomials, and present iterative methods for solving algebraic nonlinear equations, which construct monotone sequences. Furthermore, we derive error estimates which imply uniform convergence. Our results are based on the discrete maximum principle. The paper investigates some nonconforming finite elements and nonconforming finite element schemes for solving an advection—diffusion equation. This investigation is aimed at finding new schemes for solving parabolic equations. The study uses a finite element method, variational-difference schemes, and test calculations. Two types of schemes are examined: one is obtained with the help of the Bubnov—Galerkin method from a weak problem determination (nonmonotone scheme), and the other one is a monotone up-stream scheme obtained from an approximate weak problem determination with a special approximation of the skew-symmetric terms.  相似文献

The paper deals with the asymptotic behaviour and global existence of solutions for some classes of nonlinear parabolic equations in regard to the monotone properties of the nonlinear term. The asymptotic behaviour of the solutions of initial-boundary value problem for nonlinear parabolic equations is studied via the method of differential inequalities in order to obtain oscillation criterion for the solutions. Existence of extremal solutions of semilinear elliptic and parabolic equations is investigated via monotone iterative methods. The extremal solutions are obtained via monotone iterates.  相似文献
