A study of the inclusive and semi-inclusive Λ and Λ production in K+p interactions at 32 GeV/c is presented. The inclusive cross sections for Λ and Λ amount to 0.78 ± 0.05 and 0.42 ± 0.04 mb thus showing a remarkable growth between 16 and 32 GeV/c with a factor of 1.7 for Λ and 2.8 for Λ. Target and beam fragmentation processes are found to be dominant for Λ and Λ production respectively with the following lower limits for the corresponding cross sections: σ(pK+?) > 0.5 mb and σ(K+p?) > 0.3 mb. Although the early scaling conditions are fulfilled for the Λ production in the target fragmentation region, and Λ production in the beam fragmentation region, scaling is not observed between 16 and 32 GeV/c in the x and pT2 Feynman variables. The Λ production is found to be very similar in the K+p inclusive reaction at 32 GeV/c and in the semi-inclusive reaction K?p→ ΛKKX at the same energy. The ΛΛ pair production cross section increases significantly in K+p interactions from 16 to 32 GeV/c where it reaches the value σΛΛ = 47 ± 11 μb. The cross sections for Λ or Λ produced in association with an identified proton are also given and discussed.  相似文献

From the study of the reaction π?p→pFppπ? using a fast proton (pF) trigger device in the CERN Omega spectrometer, we find evidence for two narrow pp states produced mainly in association with a Δ° (1232) and a N° (1520). The statistical significance of each peak is greater than 6 standard deviations. Masses and natural widths of these resonances are respectively M = 2020 ± 3 MeV, Λ1 = 24 ± 12 MeV and M2 = 2204 ± 5 MeV, Λ2 = 16?16+20 MeV. Our data are consistent with a small production of the narrow ~ 1935 MeV resonance already reported. Production cross sections for these new pp resonances are given.  相似文献

The production of KS0, Λ andΛ is measured in π+p reactions at 16 GeV/c. The total strange particle cross section is found to be 4.0 ± 0.3 mb, about 20% of the inelastic cross section. Cross sections for single strange particles and for strange particle pairs are determined, both inclusively and as functions of the charged multiplicity. Relative production rates for different strange particle combinations are compared with the prediction of the isospin statistical model. Inclusive spectra for single particles are studied and it is found the KS0 are produced mostly in the forward hemisphere, most probably by fragmentation of the incident pion into KKπ. The Λ are mostly backwards, probably deriving from fragmentation of the proton into ΛK pairs. The Λ tend to be produced forwards, but evidence is found for central ΛΛ production. Distributions in rapidity of the Λ particles from π+p interactions are compared in terms of the factorisation hypothesis. Results are given on the Λ transversal polarisation.  相似文献

The inclusive production of Ξ+ and Ξ? hyperons is investigated in K+ p interactions at 32 GeV/c. The production cross sections, 36.4±9 μb for the Ξ+ and 6.5±3 μb for the Ξ?, are rising strongly with energy similarly to Λ and Λ production in K+ p interactions. The Ξ+ are produced preferentially in the forward direction in the c.m.s., while the Ξ? are produced dominantly backwards. The average transverse momenta 〈pTΞ+=0.73±0.09 GeV/c and 〈pTΞ?=0.58±0.09 GeV/c.  相似文献

The branching ratios are calculated for 11ΛB decay to the 11C ground and excited states below 8 MeV for two possible spin values of 11ΛB. It is found that the decay rate to the 11C state at E = 6.48 MeV is comparable in magnitude to that leading to the 11C ground state if J(11ΛB) = 52 is assumed. This result, unlike the branching ratios calculated for the J(11ΛB) = 72 case, is in accord with experiment and lends support to the assumption that J = 52 holds for 11ΛB. The necessity of the reinterpretation of some of the so-called 13ΛC events in terms of 11ΛB → π? + 11C1 is indicated.  相似文献

The inclusive production of Λ, KS0, Σ±(1385) and K(892) in π?p interactions at 6 GeV/c has been studied. The observed cross sections are: σ(Λ)=0.94±0.06 mb, σ(KS0)=0.98±0.06 mb, σ(Σ+(1385))=60±7 μb, σ(Σ?(1385))=90±9 μb, σ(K1+(892))=216±28 μb and σ(K1?(892))=41±8 μb, respectively. The inclusive spectra of these particles are presented as functions of squared transverse momentum and Feynman scaling variable x. The polarization of Λ has also been investigated. It is found from a comparison with higher-energy data that the inclusive cross sections for Σ±(1385) and the production ratios Σ±(1385)/Λ in π?p at 6 GeV/c have not reached the high-energy limiting values.  相似文献

The Raman active fundamentals ν1(A1g), ν2(Eg), ν5(F2g), and the overtone 2ν6 of SF6 have been investigated with a higher resolution and the band origins were estimated to be: ν1 = 774.53 cm?1, ν2 = 643.35 cm?1, ν5 = 523.5 cm?1, and 2ν6 = 693.8 cm?1. Raman and infrared data have been combined for estimation of several anharmonicity constants. The ν6 fundamental frequency is calculated as 347.0 cm?1. From the analysis of the ν2 Raman band, the following rotational constants of both the ground and upper states have been calculated:
B0 = 0.09111 ± 0.00005cm?1; D0 = (0.16±0.08)10?7cm?1

Results on K0 and Λ production in p↑p interactions at 6 GeV are presented. The data are from an exposure of the Argonne 12 ft bubble chamber to a 60% transversely polarized proton beam. Results include data on Λ and K0 inclusive production, and on the reactions p↑p → pΛK+(pΣ0K+). The beam asymmetry parameter for ppK0(K0) + X is determined to be (?0.52 ± 0.12).  相似文献

Inclusive cross sections are presented for strange-particle production in proton-proton interactions at 19 GeV/c for the pairs (K0K0C=+1, K0Λ, K+Λ, K0Σ+, K0Σ? and for Λ, Ks0, Σ+, Σ? and Ξ?. The KK, the KY and the total strange particle cross sections have been found to be 1.40 ± 0.10 mb, 2.69 ± 0.09 mb and 4.23 ± 0.20 mb, respectively. The charged multiplicity distributions for events with Ks0, Λ, (K0K0)C=+1 or K0 Λ are shown to follow a modified KNO curve, whereas K+ Λ does not. For the inclusive reactions pp→(K0K0)C=+1 + X++, ppK0Λ + X++and pp → Λ + X++, we find that the average charged multiplicity of the remainder system X++ is the same as when X++ is produced in other reactions with the same system energy and quantum numbers.  相似文献

A microcanonical system LoΛ is considered together with a manometer MΛ. The thermodynamic limit Λ → ∞ is taken for the system LΛ composed of LoΛ and MΛ. This yields a definition of the pressure P(v, ε) of {LoΛ; Λ → ∞} for given values ε and v of the energy and particle densities. P(v, ε) is shown to be equal to the thermodynamic function p(z, β) derived from the grand canonical ensemble for almost all values of ε and v provided the appropriate equilibrium values of the temperature β?1 and the chemical potential μ = β?1 log z are inserted.  相似文献

From positivity properties of the absorptive part of non-forward two-channel Compton amplitudes, two types of bounds are derived for the transverse polarizations of the outgoing baryon in the quasi-elastic processes νn → μ?p → μ+n, ν+;p → μ+;Λandνp → μ+0. Results indicate that measurements of this transverse polarization can be a recommended direct test of time reversal invariance.  相似文献

Medium resolution infrared grating spectra of gaseous ketene, H2CCO were recorded between 1000 and 400 cm?1, both at instrument temperature (40°C) and with cooling (?40°C). Interferometric Fourier spectra were also measured at ?70°C with resolution 0.22 cm?1 between 450 and 330 cm?1. The K structure of the fundamentals ν5, ν6, ν8, and ν9 was assigned. These fundamentals are coupled by a-axis Coriolis interactions. These couplings were analysed on the symmetric top basis for setting up the perturbation matrix and by utilizing the K-dependent Coriolis shifts of levels. A preliminary analysis of the Coriolis intensity anomalies was also undertaken.Band center values from combination differences are ν50 = 587.30 (27) and ν60 = 528.36 (39) cm?1. Synthetic spectra indicate the band origins of ν8 and ν9 to be close to 977.8 and 439.0 cm?1, respectively. Estimates of Coriolis coupling constants obtained from synthetic spectra are ζ58a = + 0.33 (5), ζ68a = + 0.714 (20), ζ59a = ? 0.774 (20), and ζ69a = ? 0.30 (2). Approximate ratios of unperturbed vibrational transition moments obtained from spectral simulations are M80:±iM50:±iM60:M90 ≈ +2:?9:+10:+0.5.  相似文献

Based on a sample of 10 000 events of the decay Λ0 → p + e? + ν, the ratio Γ(Λ0 → peν)/Γ(Λ0 → pπ?) is found to be (1.313 ± 0.024) × 10?3. From this, the absolute rate for the process is calculated to be (3.204 ± 0.068) × 106 s?1 .  相似文献

The recent increase of experimental data concerning the giant monopole resonance energy EM gives information on the incompressibility modulus of nuclear matter, provided one can extrapolate the incompressibility of a nucleus KA, defined by EM =[h?2KA/m〈r2〉]12, to the infinite medium. We discuss the theoretical interpretation of the coefficients of an A?13 expansion of KA by studying the asymptotic behaviour of two RPA sum rules (corresponding to the scaling and the constrained model), evaluated using self-consistent Thomas-Fermi calculations. We show that the scaling model is the most suitable one as it leads to a rapidly converging A?13 expansion of the corresponding incompressibility KAs, whereas this is not the case with the constrained model. Some semi-empirical relations between the coefficients of the expansion of KAs are established, which reduce to one the number of free parameters in a best-fit analysis of the experimental data. This reduction is essential due to the still limited number and accuracy of experimental data. We then show the compatibility of the data given by the various experimental groups with this parametrization and obtain a value of Kn.m. = 220 ± 20 MeV, in good agreement with more microscopic analyses.  相似文献

The 9ΛBe1 strangeness analogue states (SAS) for 9Be (g.s.) are calculated for the configuration 2P32[4,1], using a LS basis, a procedure known to be accurate for the nucleus 8Be, leading to the prediction of three distinct SAS, a T =0 state at Λ energy 7.7 MeV, and two other states, with T = 0 and T = 1, rather closely degenerate and lying 11.5 MeV higher than the first. The origin of this degeneracy is investigated in detail and these calculations are related with earlier work done within an SU(6) χ (Sakata SU(3)) ? (spin SU(2)) framework. The corresponding supersymmetric state of 9ΛBe1 is also calculated and discussed.  相似文献

We predict for M?+?M?0 the values -3.4 ± 0.8 MeV using the ?-ω mixing and the quark model, respectively. The extracted parameters indicate the necessity of a relativistic treatment of the old mesons. The problem of extrapolating these parameters to the charmed mesons is discussed. Under conservative assumptions, we predict 1.7 ? MD0 ? 2.2 MeV and ?1.4 ± 1.1 ? MD1+? MD10 ? 0.0 ± 0.6 MeV.  相似文献

We point out that existing data on the resonance shape of ?? provide useful bounds on the B meson mass: M(??)? 2 M(B) = 9?6+12 MeV if one uses the quark pair creation model. From the upper limits on B1B + BB1 production one gets M(??) ? 2M(B) < 37 MeV. We show how measurements of inclusive semileptonic B decays allow us to determine the electromagnetic mass splitting M(B0) ? M(B?) without having to identify exclusive B decays. As byproducts one obtains information on the B0-B? lifetime ratio and on B0-B0 mixing.  相似文献

The total νμ and νμ nucleon charged-current cross sections have been measured in BEBC filled with deuterium and exposed to the wide-band neutrino and antineutrino beams at the CERN-SPS. Assuming a linear energy dependence for the cross sections, σ = aE(?ν, we obtained the coefficients aνN = 0.62 ± 0.05 and aνN = 0.33 ± 0.03 (in units of 10?38 cm2/GeV), where the quoted error is mainly systematic. The ratio of the cross sections is σνNνN = 0.53 ± 0.03.We also determined the ratio of the charged-current cross section for neutrino interactions on neutrons and protons R = σνn/σνp = 2.10 ± 0.08 (statistical) ±0.22 (sysetmatic). The dependence of R on the variables x, y and Eν is discussed.  相似文献

An elastic Kπ partial-wave analysis is presented. It is based on high statistics data for the reactions K±pK±π+nand K±pK±π?Δ ++at 13 GeV obtained in a spectrometer experiment performed at SLAC. For each reaction, a t-dependent parametrization of the production amplitudes provides information on both the Kπ mass dependence of the production mechanisms and on Kπ scattering. Knowledge of the t-dependence then allows a calculation of the Kπ partial-wave amplitudes for Kπ masses from 0.7 to 1.9 GeV. The results of such analyses using data for (i) the neutral recoil reactions, (ii) the Δ++ recoil reactions, and (iii) both neutron and Δ++ recoil reactions simultaneously, are presented. Besides the leading JP = 1?, 2+, and 3? resonances at MKπ = 0.896, 1.434, and 1.78 GeV, there is evidence in two of the four possible partial-wave solutions for a broad P-wave resonant-like structure in the region of 1700 MeV. The I = 12 S-wave magnitude rises slowly and smoothly to a maximum near 1400 MeV, but then decreases rapidly between 1400 and 1600 MeV. This structure is strongly indicative of an S-wave resonance near 1450 MeV. The charge-two Kπ reaction is dominated by S-wave scattering with a total cross section decreasing from 4 mb at 0.9 GeV to 2 mb at 1.5 GeV. Both the I = 12 S-wave below 1400 MeV and the I = 32 S-wave are well described by an effective range parametrization.  相似文献

Partial branching ratios (K+ → π0μ+ν)(K+ → π0e+ν) have been measured in six lepton momentum bins between 120 and 180 MeV/c. From these, six relations between the form factor slopes λ+ and λ0 have been derived. Using the world average value λ+ = 0.029 ± 0.003 and combining the six partial results on λ0, we obtain λ0 = 0.019 ± 0.010. This value is in agreement with the Callan-Treiman relation and other predictions. Together with recent Kl30 results, it supports the ΔI = 12 rule. The agreement of our result with the value of λ0 obtained from Kμ3 Dalitz-plot studies supports muon-electron universality.  相似文献
