We use the graphics processing unit (GPU) for fast calculations of helicity amplitudes of physics processes. As our first attempt, we compute $u\overline{u}\rightarrow n\gamma$ (n=2 to 8) processes in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=14$  TeV by transferring the MadGraph generated HELAS amplitudes (FORTRAN) into newly developed HEGET (HELAS Evaluation with GPU Enhanced Technology) codes written in CUDA, a C-platform developed by NVIDIA for general purpose computing on the GPU. Compared with the usual CPU programs, we obtain a 40–150 times better performance on the GPU.  相似文献

We propose to make use of the off-shell recursive relations with the color-flow decomposition in the calculation of QCD amplitudes on MadGraph. We introduce colored quarks and their interactions with nine gluons in the color-flow basis plus an Abelian gluon on MadGraph, such that it generates helicity amplitudes in the color-flow basis with off-shell recursive formulae for multi-gluon sub-amplitudes. We demonstrate calculations of up to 5-jet processes such as gg→5g, \(u\overline{u}\rightarrow5g\) and uuuuggg. Although our demonstration is limited, it paves the way to evaluate amplitudes with more quark lines and gluons with MadGraph.  相似文献

We calculate, to first order in QCD, the probability for a fast hadron observed at laboratory angle θ h from the virtual photon directionq, to originate from the quark of a quark-gluon final state. Given this probability, the average gluon energy and angle with respect toq are then calculated. This approach provides a method for gluon jet direction in forthcoming experiments.  相似文献

We study the strong decay processes of the Roper resonance, N*(1440) in the picture of hybrid baryon in which the Roper resonance N*(1440) is interpreted as a state of three quarks and one transverse-electric gluon, q 3 G. A nonrelativistic quark–gluon model is employed, where the dynamics of antiquark–quark–gluon is described in the effective \({^{3}S_{1}}\) vertex in which a quark–antiquark pair is created (destroyed) from (into) a gluon. The wave function of the Roper resonance is properly constructed to take into account the gluon freedom in the nonrelativistic regime. The evaluated strong decay width ratios of N*(1440) are in good agreement with the experimental data.  相似文献

The coherent recombination of several (N) Bose-condensed excitons with simultaneous creation of N photons is considered. Due to the momentum conservation law, the total momentum of created photons is zero because of the zero momentum of excitons in Bose condensate. This requirement, in conjunction with the fact that the photon wavenumbers are fixed and equal to approximately E g /c (E g is the semiconductor gap and c is the speed of light), determines the mutual orientation of the wavevectors of emitted photons. This can be seen from the photon angular correlation in the experiments with several appropriately oriented detectors operating in the time-coincidence mode. It is shown that, if these processes are induced by N? 1 external laser beams (each with wavevector k i ), then a unidirectional radiation with recoil wavevector k=?∑i k i should emerge from the exciton system. The intensities of coherent three-and four-exciton recombination are estimated for the exciton system in Cu2O.  相似文献

The theory of spatial dispersion of dielectric and magnetic constants of magnetic uniaxial crystals based on generalized Maxwell’s equations D = ε?E = (ε + inγ E = ?ns × H and B = μ?H = (μ + inδ)H = ns × E with spatial dispersion parameters γ and δ is considered. Generalized Fresnel’s and polarization equations for the obtained vectors E, D, H, and B are analyzed for the wave normal direction sC (where C is the optic axis of a crystal). The possibility of the existence of a third natural wave in a crystal is proved.  相似文献

The total production rates for heavy quark pairs due to gauge boson fusion processes at high energyep colliders are evaluated. At HERA,b \(\bar t\) production dominates overt \(\bar t\) production form t ≧60 GeV and is observable up tom t ?80(90)GeV where the number of expectedb \(\bar t\) events is about 15(10) for ∝L=200pb?1. Including the contributions fromepWXbtX the total number of expectedbt events amounts to about 50 events form t ?80GeV. The influence of thresholds for heavy quark pair production is also studied for the relevant structure functionsF i (x,Q 2) and shown to contribute to the measured scaling violations. All these effects are sensitive to the heavy quark massesand to the shape of the gluon distribution which can thus be tested experimentally by analyzing heavy quark pair signals.  相似文献

We show that inclusive ψ hadroproduction cross sections andx F -distributions are quantitatively consistent with calculations based on the lowest order \(q\bar q \to c\bar c\) andgg \(c\bar c\) QCD subprocesses using a duality ansatz. Data in the πN, KN, NN and \(\bar NN\) channels are considered. They provide determinations of the gluon distributions within the nucleon, the pion, and the kaon at the ψ mass scale. AvailableNN→ΥX data aty=0 are consistent with the same model, using gluon distributions appropriate to the Υ mass: predictions ofx F -distributions are made.  相似文献

Three new ferrocene based Schiff bases 4-{[(E)-ferrocenylmethylidene] amino}benzenethiol (1b), 3-{[(E)-ferrocenylmethylidene]amino} benzenethiol (1c), 2-{[(E)-ferrocenylmethylidene]amino} benzenethiol (1d) have been synthesized to study their sensor property to various metal ions. It has been observed that 1b is highly fluorescent and its fluorescence changes in presence of metal ions. The thermal electromotive force (emf) in Bi quantum wires has been calculated in the model of potential in the form of a paraboloid of revolution in a uniform magnetic field H, which is normal to the axis of the studied nanostructure, and in a direct-current (dc) electric field EH. It has been shown that, with an increase in E, the thermal emf α xx is described by a nonmonotonic function at different values of H. A physical interpretation of this behavior of α xx as a function of E is proposed with account for the interaction between carriers and the rough surface of the nanowire.  相似文献

The AE?IS experiment (Antimatter Experiment: Gravity, Interferometry, Spectroscopy (Drobychev et al., 2007)), aims at directly measuring the gravitational acceleration g on a beam of cold antihydrogen ( $\overline{\rm H}$ ). After production, the $\overline{\rm H}$ atoms will be driven to fly horizontally with a velocity of a few 100 m/s for a path length of about 1 meter. The small deflection, few tens of μm, will be measured using two material gratings coupled to a position-sensitive detector working as a Moiré deflectometer similarly to what has been done with atoms (Oberthaler et al., Phys Rev A 54:3165, 1996). Details about the detection of the $\overline{\rm H}$ annihilation point at the end of the flight path with a position-sensitive microstrip detector and a silicon tracker system will be discussed.  相似文献

E(k) dispersion curves for the charge carriers in the LaMnO3-like perovskites were calculated for the basic types of canted antiferromagnetic ordering of the Mn sublattice in the framework of the tight-binding approximation. The E(k) spectrum of the antiferromagnetic structures was calculated for the first time taking into account the degeneracy of the Mn e g level and the Jahn-Teller distortion of the cubic perovskite structure. This calculation involved diagonalization of the 8×8 Hamiltonian matrix. Analytical expressions for the E(k) function at separate points and symmetry lines of the Brillouin zone were derived. The calculations showed that the properties of the La1?x CaxMnO3 system do not have electron-hole symmetry.  相似文献

The relation between the light-cone expansion and the QCD improved parton model formalism for polarized deep inelastic muon-production is discussed in detail. The regulator dependence of the relevant quantities is explicity studied at the two-loop level for the first moment ofg 1 P . It is shown that the anomalous gluon component is well defined if the quark term is specified as a conserved quantity that does not evolve inQ 2. The behaviour of the first moment ofg 1 P at the threshold for heavy quark production is also discussed.  相似文献

We study the decay branching ratios of 1P and 2P quarkonia using quark pair creation model. We conclude that θ(1640) cannot be understood as a pure quarkonium. Considering then quarkonium-glueball mixing we conclude that a 2P \(q\bar q\) -glueball interpretation is unlikely. A 1P \(q\bar q\) -glueball interpretation is better. We also study the quarkonium interpretation of the particle found in π? Pg T (2160)n→φφn.  相似文献

We study the radiative correction to p-broadening of a fast quark in a quark–gluon plasma beyond the soft gluon approximation. We find that the radiative processes can suppress considerably p-broadening. This differs dramatically from previous calculations to logarithmic accuracy in the soft gluon approximation, predicting a considerable enhancement of p-broadening.  相似文献

Spectra for the sets of optical functions for lead chloride are obtained for polarizations Ea and Eb at 10 K in the range of 4 to 30 eV. The calculations are carried out using synchrotron reflectivity spectra and a software package. The main features of the spectra of optical functions were established; they include the energies for volume and surface plasmons of two types. The bands and the spectra of permittivity and other optical functions for lead chloride crystals are calculated using the FP LAPW method. There was good agreement between the theoretical calculations and the data of the experimental spectra of R and other optical functions calculated using these R spectra.  相似文献

Based on the structures of the 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase inhibitor mesotrione and natural product fischerellin A, a series of imine derivatives of ( $E$ )-3-acyl-quinoline-2,4(1H,3H)-dione (6, 12 and 16) were designed, synthesized and systematically evaluated for their herbicidal activity. The bioassay results indicated that most of the synthesized compounds displayed good to excellent herbicidal activity, of which 6e, 6g, 6h, 6q and 6t exhibited more than 50 % inhibition against Brassica napus L., Amaranthus retroflexu or Digitaria adscendens at a dosage of $94\,\hbox {g}\,\hbox {ha}^{-1}$ or lower. The symptom of injured leaves in vivo, the high Hill reaction inhibitory activity of 6h in vitro ( $\hbox {IC}_{50}\,0.1\, \upmu \hbox {g}\,\hbox {mL}^{-1})$ and the computer-based binding model of compound 6h with D1 protein in photosystem II (PSII) reaction centre suggest this novel structure to likely be a new type of PSII electron transport inhibitor. Thus, we have found a novel type of diketone enamine structure targeted at the PSII reaction centre.  相似文献
