Identification of communities is significant in understanding the structures and functions of networks. Since some nodes naturally belong to several communities, the study of overlapping communities has attracted increasing attention recently, and many algorithms have been designed to detect overlapping communities. In this paper, an overlapping communities detecting algorithm is proposed whose main strategies are finding an initial partial community from a node with maximal node strength and adding tight nodes to expand the partial community. Seven real-world complex networks and one synthetic network are used to evaluate the algorithm. Experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm proposed is efficient for detecting overlapping communities in weighted networks.  相似文献

Detection of community structures in the weighted complex networks is significant to understand the network structures and analysis of the network properties. We present a unique algorithm to detect overlapping communities in the weighted complex networks with considerable accuracy. For a given weighted network, all the seed communities are first extracted. Then to each seed community, more community members are absorbed using the absorbing degree function. In addition, our algorithm successfully finds common nodes between communities. The experiments using some real-world networks show that the performance of our algorithm is satisfactory.  相似文献

Topology and weights are closely related in weighted complex networks and this is reflected in their modular structure. We present a simple network model where the weights are generated dynamically and they shape the developing topology. By tuning a model parameter governing the importance of weights, the resulting networks undergo a gradual structural transition from a module-free topology to one with communities. The model also reproduces many features of large social networks, including the "weak links" property.  相似文献

It was demonstrated recently that the line graphs are clustered and assortative. These topological features are known to characterize some social networks [M.E.J. Newman, Y. Park, Why social networks are different from other types of networks, Phys. Rev. E 68 (2003) 036122]; it was argued that this similarity reveals their cliquey character. In the model proposed here, a social network is the line graph of an initial network of families, communities, interest groups, school classes and small companies. These groups play the role of nodes, and individuals are represented by links between these nodes. The picture is supported by the data on the LiveJournal network of about 8×106 people.  相似文献

We show that a complex network of phase oscillators may display interfaces between domains (clusters) of synchronized oscillations. The emergence and dynamics of these interfaces are studied for graphs composed of either dynamical domains (influenced by different forcing processes), or structural domains (modular networks). The obtained results allow us to give a functional definition of overlapping structures in modular networks, and suggest a practical method able to give information on overlapping clusters in both artificially constructed and real world modular networks.  相似文献

Community detection in weighted networks is an important challenge. In this paper, we introduce a local weight ratio scheme for identifying the community structures of weighted networks within the context of the Kuramoto model by taking into account weights of links. The proposed scheme takes full advantage of the information of the link density among vertices and the closeness of relations between each vertex and its neighbors. By means of this scheme, we explore the connection between community structures and dynamic time scales of synchronization. Moreover, we can also unravel the hierarchical structures of weighted networks with a well-defined connectivity pattern by the synchronization process. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated on both computer-generated benchmark graphs and real-world networks.  相似文献

Community detection is an important methodology for understanding the intrinsic structure and function of a realworld network.In this paper,we propose an effective and efficient algorithm,called Dominant Label Propagation Algorithm(Abbreviated as DLPA),to detect communities in complex networks.The algorithm simulates a special voting process to detect overlapping and non-overlapping community structure in complex networks simultaneously.Our algorithm is very efficient,since its computational complexity is almost linear to the number of edges in the network.Experimental results on both real-world and synthetic networks show that our algorithm also possesses high accuracies on detecting community structure in networks.  相似文献

Detection of community structures in the complex networks is significant to understand the network structures and analyze the network properties. However, it is still a problem on how to select initial seeds as well as to determine the number of communities. In this paper, we proposed the detecting overlapping communities based on vital nodes algorithm(DOCBVA), an algorithm based on vital nodes and initial seeds to detect overlapping communities. First, through some screening method, we find the vital nodes and then the seed communities through the pretreatment of vital nodes. This process differs from most existing methods, and the speed is faster. Then the seeds will be extended. We also adopt a new parameter of attribution degree to extend the seeds and find the overlapping communities. Finally, the remaining nodes that have not been processed in the first two steps will be reprocessed. The number of communities is likely to change until the end of algorithm. The experimental results using some real-world network data and artificial network data are satisfactory and can prove the superiority of the DOCBVA algorithm.  相似文献

This paper proposes the new definition of the community structure of the weighted networks that groups of nodes in which the edge's weights distribute uniformly but at random between them. It can describe the steady connections between nodes or some similarity between nodes' functions effectively. In order to detect the community structure efficiently, a threshold coefficient κ to evaluate the equivalence of edges' weights and a new weighted modularity based on the weight's similarity are proposed. Then, constructing the weighted matrix and using the agglomerative mechanism, it presents a weight's agglomerative method based on optimizing the modularity to detect communities. For a network with n nodes, the algorithm can detect the community structure in time O(n2log2n). Simulations on networks show that the algorithm has higher accuracy and precision than the existing techniques. Furthermore, with the change of κ the algorithm discovers a special hierarchical organization which can describe the various steady connections between nodes in groups.  相似文献

We consider generalized one-matrix models in which external fields allow control over the coordination numbers on both the original and dual lattices. We rederive in a simple fashion a character expansion formula for these models originally due to Itzykson and Di Francesco, and then demonstrate how to take the largeN limit of this expansion. The relationship to the usual matrix model resolvent is elucidated. Our methods give as a by-product an extremely simple derivation of the Migdal integral equation describing the largeN limit of the Itzykson-Zuber formula. We illustrate and check our methods by analysing a number of models solvable by traditional means. We then proceed to solve a new model: a sum over planar graphys possessing even coordination numbers on both the original and the dual lattice. We conclude by formulating the equations for the case of arbitrary sets of even, self-dual coupling constants. Real networks often consist of local units, which interact with each other via asymmetric and heterogeneous connections. In this work, we explore the constructive role played by such a directed and weighted wiring for the synchronization of networks of coupled dynamical systems. The stability condition for the synchronous state is obtained from the spectrum of the respective coupling matrices. In particular, we consider a coupling scheme in which the relative importance of a link depends on the number of shortest paths through it. We illustrate our findings for networks with different topologies: scale free, small world, and random wirings.  相似文献

We propose a geometric growth model for weighted scale-free networks, which is controlled by two tunable parameters. We derive exactly the main characteristics of the networks, which are partially determined by the parameters. Analytical results indicate that the resulting networks have power-law distributions of degree, strength, weight and betweenness, a scale-free behavior for degree correlations, logarithmic small average path length and diameter with network size. The obtained properties are in agreement with empirical data observed in many real-life networks, which shows that the presented model may provide valuable insight into the real systems.  相似文献

Many real-world systems can be modeled by weighted small-world networks with high clustering coefficients. Recent studies for rigorously analyzing the weighted spectral distribution(W SD) have focused on unweighted networks with low clustering coefficients. In this paper, we rigorously analyze the W SD in a deterministic weighted scale-free small-world network model and find that the W SD grows sublinearly with increasing network order(i.e., the number of nodes) and provides a sensitive discrimination for each input of this model. This study demonstrates that the scaling feature of the W SD exists in the weighted network model which has high and order-independent clustering coefficients and reasonable power-law exponents.  相似文献

针对含权无标度网络提出了一种全局路由算法.该算法利用网络路径上的节点强度信息构建了一种全局路由代价函数,选择使该代价函数最小的路径来传输信息包,有效避开了网络中易发生拥塞的核心节点.实验结果表明,与最短路径算法相比,该算法以较小的平均路径长度的增加为代价,将网络容量提高了十多倍.  相似文献

GDP/capita correlations are investigated in various time windows (TW), for the time interval 1990–2005. The target group of countries is the set of 25 EU members, 15 till 2004 plus the 10 countries which joined EU later on. The TW-means of the statistical correlation coefficients are taken as the weights (links) of a fully connected network having the countries as nodes. Thereafter we define and introduce the overlapping index of weighted network nodes. A cluster structure of EU countries is derived from the statistically relevant eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the adjacency matrix. This may be considered to yield some information about the structure, stability and evolution of the EU country clusters in a macroeconomic sense.  相似文献

We propose a deterministic weighted scale-free small-world model for considering pseudofractal web with the co-evolution of topology and weight. Considering the fluctuations in traffic flow constitute a main reason for congestion of packet delivery and poor performance of communication networks, we suggest a recursive algorithm to generate the network, which restricts the traffic fluctuations on it effectively during the evolutionary process. We provide a relatively complete view of topological structure and weight dynamics characteristics of the networks such as weight and strength distribution, degree correlations, average clustering coefficient and degree-cluster correlations as well as the diameter.  相似文献

Motivated by the empirical observation in airport networks and metabolic networks, we introduce the model of the recursive weighted Koch networks created by the recursive division method. As a fundamental dynamical process, random walks have received considerable interest in the scientific community. Then, we study the recursive weighted Koch networks on random walk i.e., the walker, at each step, starting from its current node, moves uniformly to any of its neighbours. In order to study the model more conveniently, we use recursive division method again to calculate the sum of the mean weighted first-passing times for all nodes to absorption at the trap located in the merging node. It is showed that in a large network, the average weighted receiving time grows sublinearly with the network order.  相似文献

Inspired by scientific collaboration networks (SCN), especially our empirical analysis of econophysicists network, an evolutionary model for weighted networks is proposed. Besides a new vertex added in at every time step, old vertices can also attempt to build up new links, or to reconnect the existing links. The number of connections repeated between two nodes is converted into the weight of the link. This provides a natural way for the evolution of link weight. The path-dependent preferential attachment mechanism with local information is also introduced. It increases the clustering coefficient of the network significantly. The model shows the scale-free phenomena in degree and vertex weight distribution. It also gives well qualitatively consistent behavior with the empirical results.  相似文献

复杂网络的传输能力是其功能正常运转的重要保障,提高网络的吞吐量有着重要意义.提出一种新的高效路由策略,以提高复杂网络的传输能力,称之为加权路由策略.即对网络的每一条边加权,权值与该边的两端节点的度相关,然后数据包按照这个加权网络的最短路径路由.这样的路径可以更均匀地经过各个节点,发挥它们的传输能力,极大地提高网络的吞吐量.可以避免数据包集中地通过个别度大的节点,在这些节点发生拥塞.仿真显示,该策略比传统的最短路径策略优越,对很多结构的网络,可以提高几十倍的吞吐量. 关键词: 复杂网络 路由策略 吞吐量 拥塞  相似文献
