The velocity field corresponding to the Rayleigh–Stokes problem for an edge, in an incompressible generalized Oldroyd-B fluid has been established by means of the double Fourier sine and Laplace transforms. The fractional calculus approach is used in the constitutive relationship of the fluid model. The obtained solution, written in terms of the generalized G-functions, is presented as a sum of the Newtonian solution and the corresponding non-Newtonian contribution. The solution for generalized Maxwell fluids, as well as those for ordinary Maxwell and Oldroyd-B fluids, performing the same motion, is obtained as a limiting case of the present solution. This solution can be also specialized to give the similar solution for generalized second grade fluids. However, for simplicity, a new and simpler exact solution is established for these fluids. For β → 1, this last solution reduces to a previous solution obtained by a different technique.  相似文献

The method of decaying residual solution is applied to obtain an approximate interior solution for the torsion of slender prismatic elastic bodies under different end conditions. The approximate solution is generally accurate up to terms that are exponentially small in the length-to-cross-sectional-width ratio. For stress end conditions, the result is identical to the classical Saint-Venant torsion solution. Similar types of simple solutions, not known previously, are obtained for different types of mixed end conditions. For displacement conditions at both ends, the corresponding Saint-Venant type result requires an accurate solution of a canonical problem for a semi-infinite prismatic body that is to be obtained once and for all. The solution of the canonical problem is elementary for a circular cross section. The approximate interior solution in that case is identical to the known exact interior solution.  相似文献

The well-known theorem of T. Yamada and S. Watanabe asserts that (weak) existence and pathwise uniqueness of the solution of a stochastic equation implies the existence of a strong solution. This is the most powerful tool for proving that a stochastic equation possesses a strong solution. However, pathwise uniqueness is far from being a necessary condition for this. Even if the solution is not unique in law it is also of interest to ask for strong solutions. In the present note, we will discuss in more detail the connection between pathwise uniqueness and the existence of a strong solution. We will state a condition which is not only sufficient but also necessary for the existence of a strong solution.  相似文献

In this paper, we focus on a treatment of a linear programming problem with an interval objective function. From the viewpoint of the achievement rate, a new solution concept, the maximin achievement rate solution, is proposed. Nice properties of this solution are shown: a maximin achievement rate solution is necessarily optimal when a necessarily optimal solution exists, and if not, then it is still a possibly optimal solution. An algorithm for a maximin achievement rate solution is proposed based on a relaxation procedure together with a simplex method. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the proposed solution algorithm.  相似文献

In this study, a new approach is developed to solve the initial value problem for interval linear differential equations. In the considered problem, the coefficients and the initial values are constant intervals. In the developed approach, there is no need to define a derivative for interval-valued functions. All derivatives used in the approach are classical derivatives of real functions. The reason for this is that the solution of the problem is defined as a bunch of real functions. Such a solution concept is compatible also with the robust stability concept. Sufficient conditions are provided for the solution to be expressed analytically. In addition, on a numerical example, the solution obtained by the proposed approach is compared with the solution obtained by the generalized Hukuhara differentiability. It is shown that the proposed approach gives a new type of solution. The main advantage of the proposed approach is that the solution to the considered interval initial value problem exists and is unique, as in the real case.  相似文献

The initial–boundary value problem for the three-dimensional incompressible flow of liquid crystals is considered in a bounded smooth domain. The existence and uniqueness is established for both the local strong solution with large initial data and the global strong solution with small data. A heuristic method TABU-CSP using Tabu Search (TS) is described for solving Constraint Satisfaction Problems (CSPs). The method is started with a complete but inconsistent solution of a binary CSP and obtained in prespecified number of iterations either a consistent solution or a near optimal solution with an acceptable number of conflicts. The repair in the solution at each iterative step is done by using two heuristics alternatively. The first heuristic is a min-conflict heuristic that chooses a variable with the maximum number of conflicts and reassigns it the value which leads to the minimum number of conflicts. If the acceptable solution is not reached after the search continued for a certain number of iterations, the min-conflict heuristic is changed and the variable selected least number of times is chosen for repair. If an acceptable solution is not reached, the method switches back to the min-conflict heuristic and proceeds further. This allowed the method to explore a different region of search space for the solution as well as to prevent cycling. The demonstration of the method is shown on a toy problem [9] which has no solution. The method is then tested on various randomly generated CSPs with different starting solutions. The performance of the proposed method in terms of the average number of consistency is checked and the average number of conflicts is compared with that of the Branch and Bound (BB) method used to obtain the same solution. In almost all cases, the proposed method moves faster to the acceptable solution than BB.  相似文献

In this work, an analytic development for a transmission line with a corona effect for simulating an electromagnetic transient is presented. The asymptotic solution for the Radulet equations in which a nonlinear term is presented is obtained. The study is carried out for a single-phase transmission line. The electrical parameters for an overhead line are defined and several formulations for their calculation are presented. The frequency dependence of the electrical parameters is considered. In the first part, the linear problem solution is found; the Fourier and Laplace transforms are applied with respect to distance and time respectively. After finding the solution in the Fourier–Laplace domain, which is expressed in terms of a Green’s function integral, an approximate analytical solution is obtained in the distance–time domain by means of asymptotic methods. Finally, the nonlinear solution is found using as a first approach the linear solution. The results obtained show an attenuation in the voltage wave due to the corona effect.  相似文献

This article attempts to give a short survey of recent progress on a class of elementary stochastic partial differential equations(for example, stochastic heat equations)driven by Gaussian noise of various covariance structures. The focus is on the existence and uniqueness of the classical(square integrable) solution(mild solution, weak solution). It is also concerned with the Feynman-Kac formula for the solution; Feynman-Kac formula for the moments of the solution; and their applications to the asymptotic moment bounds of the solution. In this paper, the solution of back-Euler implicit difference scheme for a semi-linea rparabolic equation is proved to converge to the solution of difference scheme for the corresponding semi-linear elliptic equation as t tends to infinity. The long asymptotic behavior of its discrete solution is obtained which is analogous to that of its continuous solution. At last, a few results are also presented for Crank-Nicolson scheme.  相似文献

The several published methods for mapping a dual solution estimate to a primal solution estimate in posynomial geometric programming provide no criteria for deciding how much deviation from primal feasibility, or discrepancy between the primal and dual objective function values, should be permitted before the primal solution estimate is accepted by the designer. This paper presents a new and simple dual-to-primal conversion method that uses the cost coefficients to provide a sound economic criterion for determining when to accept a primal solution estimate. The primal solution estimate generated is the exact solution to a modified primal obtained from the given primal by modifying the cost coefficients, with the exponent matrix left unchanged. The method is shown to have desirable properties when coupled with a convergent dual algorithm.  相似文献
