The interaction of O2 and CO2 with the Si(111)-7 × 7 surface has been studied with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). It was found that both O2 and CO2 molecules can readily oxidize the Si(111)-7 × 7 surface to form thin oxide films. Two oxygen species were identified in the oxide film: oxygen atoms binding to on-top sites of adatom/rest atoms with an O 1s binding energy of ~ 533 eV as well as to bridge sites of adatom/rest atom backbonds at ~ 532 eV. These two oxygen species can be interconverted thermally during the annealing process. Due to the low oxidation capability, the silicon oxide film formed by CO2 has a lower O/Si ratio than that of O2.  相似文献

Glasses in the 90Bi2O3–(10?x)Er2O3?xPbO (x = 3, 5, 7, 9 and 10 mol%) system have been prepared by the melt-quenching technique. Elastic properties and FT-IR spectroscopic studies have been employed to study the role of PbO in the structure of the investigated system. Elastic properties and Debye temperature were recorded using sound wave velocity measurements at 4 MHz at room temperature. The results showed that density increased and molar volume decreased, while both sound velocities increased with an increase in x. Infrared spectra of the glasses revealed that the bismuthate network is affected by an increase in PbO content. The results are interpreted in terms of the conversion of [BiO6] into [BiO3] structural units, indicating that Pb ions have been substituted for erbium ions as tetrahedral network formers. The elastic moduli increased with increasing PbO content due to the increased average bond strength and degree of connectivity, as a direct effect of the increase in [BiO3] structural units.  相似文献

Artificially stacked structures of [(infinite layer CaCuO2)k/(superconducting (Cu, C)Ba2CuOx:(Cu, C)-1201)l]m were fabricated on SrCuO2 buffer layer by means of sequential deposition of each block using pulsed laser deposition. Smooth and epitaxial growth all over the deposition cycles of (Cu, C)-1201 and CaCuO2 were confirmed by streak patterns of in situ RHEED. In comparison with (Cu, C)-1201 single layer films, the artificial stacking resulted in a rise of superconducting properties, Tc-onset and Tc(ρ=0) up to 95 K and 65 K, respectively.  相似文献

We have performed a first principle study of structural and phase stabilization of β-La2 ? xLxMo2O9 (L = Gd, Sm, Nd and Bi) and β-La2Mo2 ? yMyO9 (M = Cr, W). The substitutional-site properties were discussed in terms of the empirical parameter, bond valence sums (BVS), which characterizes the interactions between atoms and its nearest-neighbor atoms and correlates well with the stability of the structure. We found that Gd, Sm and Nd atoms prefer the crystallographic sites with largest BVS values. The nonlinear dependence of cell parameter on W content in W-doped systems results from the nonlinear change in Mo/W–O bond length with W content. The decrease of cohesive energy and the deviation of BVS values from the expected values upon the Gd, Sm, Nd and W-doped concentration help us understand the experimentally observed stabilization of the β phase to lower temperatures in these doped system. The O ion diffusion properties in W-doped systems have been studied using the nudged elastic band method and the dimer method. We found that, W-doping leads to the obvious increase in the energy barriers of O ion concerted diffusion. In addition, there is a remarkable decrease in the difference of energy barriers between two diffusion channels involving O(1) ion, which sheds light on only one relaxation peak in the mechanical relaxation measurement in W-doped system, compared to undoped system.  相似文献

The absence of a linear behaviour of the dependence of the resistance() over a temperature interval 77–300 K was observed for ceramic superconductors YBa2Cu3O7  δand thick polycrystallin films of the same composition with the addition of silver. A comparative analysis of the excess conductivity for HTSC and metal samples, characterizing the deviationR(T) from a linear dependence, allows one to determine the onset temperature of fluctuation superconductivity: within 105–110 K. The analysis of fluctuation superconductivity is performed using the Aslamazov–Larkin model. A smooth transition from the one-dimensional to the two- and three-dimensional nature of superconducting fluctuations in the order parameter was observed for ceramic samples as the temperature decreased.  相似文献

A series of superconducting cuprates with the nominal composition YBa2Cu3  xCdxO7  yand the effect of Cd substitution on Cu sites in this compound is presented. X-ray powder diffraction patterns for these cadmium cuprates with reduced diamagnetism indicate an orthorhombic unit cell like-perovskite structure for (0  x  0.15), while for higher Cd concentration, i.e.x = 1.0 the material is polyphasic. The observed superconducting transition temperature of the samples is nearly the same ([formula] K), except for (x = 1.0) whereTcdrops to 72 K and a transition from metallic to semiconducting behavior of the normal state of the resistivity is observed. Such a decrease inTcfor higher Cd concentration could be attributed to the presence of the green phase in this composition.  相似文献

Equal amount Pr and Ca double-doping Y1?2xPrxCaxBa2Cu3O7?δ with 0 ? x ? 0.14 have been investigated by X-ray diffraction, resistivity, and X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS). The deviation of the linearly decreasing of Tc vs. x curve was observed when x < 0.10. The resistivity and the temperature coefficient of resistivity also exhibit abnormal behaviors around x = 0.10. It is revealed that the conductivity behavior of Y1?2xPrxCaxBa2Cu3O7?δ with low Pr content (x < 0.10) is different from that of the relative high Pr content (x > 0.10), which suggests a change of Pr valence with the Pr content. XPS measurement shows that the relative amount of Pr3+ and Pr4+ is closely related to the total Pr content x. The valence of Pr is close to +3 when x < 0.10 and increases towards +4 when x > 0.10, which implies a different mechanism for depression of superconductivity of Pr content x < 0.10 from that of Pr content x > 0.10 in Pr doping Y-123.  相似文献

We have studied the formation of a Bi-induced (2 × 2) reconstruction on the InAs(111)B surface. In connection to the development of the (2 × 2) reconstruction, a two dimensional charge accumulation layer located at the bottom of the InAs conduction band appears as seen through a photoemission structure at the Fermi level. Not well ordered Bi layers do not induce a charge accumulation. The Bi-induced reconstruction reduces the polarization of the pristine surface and changes the initial charge distribution. InAsBi alloying occurs below the surface where Bi acts as charge donor leading to the charge accumulation layer.  相似文献

We present an STM study on the domain pattern formation of the Cu(110)–O surface. We found that the separation of the oxygen adsorbate phase into the domain pattern is consistent with a phenomenological model of size-dependent elastic relaxation of the strained surface. We developed a thermally assisted oxygen adsorption procedure aiming to control the size of the two-dimensional (2 × 1)–O islands nucleated at the surface under oxygen adsorption serving as precursors for domain pattern formation. We engineered wide range tuneable (2 × 1)–O domain patterns by controlling the nuclei size and the oxygen coverage at the pattern formation stage.  相似文献

An organic/inorganic hybrid 2 × 2 directional coupler (DC) Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI) thermo-optic (TO) switch was successfully designed and fabricated using simple direct ultraviolet photolithography process. The hybrid organic/inorganic waveguide structure includes poly-methyl-methacrylate-glycidyl-methacrylate (P(MMA-GMA)), SU-8 2005 and silica as core, upper cladding and under cladding, respectively. Device optimization and simulation were performed to decrease radiation loss and leakage loss, quicken response time and cut down power consumption. Measurements of the fabricated devices at 1550 nm wavelength result in a switching power of 7.2 mW, a response time of ∼100 μs, and crosstalk of −22.8 and −26.5 dB under cross state and bar state, respectively. Besides, the driving-noise-tolerance characteristics of this device were experimentally investigated by directly imposing a generated tunable noise on the pure driving signal (4 Vpp) and the minimum extinction ratio is larger than 18 dB under a noise level of 2.5 Vpp. The effect of noise on extinction ratio was found decreased with the increase of noise frequency.  相似文献

The surface reconstruction, 3 × 2, induced by Yb adsorption on a Ge (Si)(111) surface has been studied using first principles density-functional calculation within the generalized gradient approximation. The two different possible adsorption sites have been considered: (i) H3 (this site is directly above a fourth-layer Ge (Si) atom) and (ii) T4 (directly above a second-layer Ge (Si) atom). We have found that the total energies corresponding to these binding sites are nearly the same, indeed for the Yb/Ge (Si)(111)–(3 × 2) structure the T4 model is slightly energetic by about 0.01 (0.08) eV/unitcell compared with the H3 model. In particular for the Ge sublayer, the energy difference is small, and therefore it is possible that the T4, H3, or T4H3 (half of the adatoms occupy the T4 adsorption site and the rest of the adatoms are located at the H3 site) binding sites can coexist with REM/Ge(111)–(3 × 2). In contrast to the proposed model, we have not determined any buckling in the Ge = Ge double bond. The electronic band structures of the surfaces and the corresponding natures of their orbitals have also been calculated. Our results for both substrates are seen to be in agreement with the recent experimental data, especially that of the Yb/Si(111)–(3 × 2) surface.  相似文献

The solid solutions of bismuth–vanadate were prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction. The sample characterization and the study of phase transition were done by using FT-IR, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and DSC measurements. AC impedance measurements proved that the oxide ion conductivity predominantly arises from the grain and grain boundary contributions as two well-defined semicircles are clearly seen along with an inclined spike. The electrical conductivity of Bi2O3–V2O5 has been studied at different temperatures for various molar ratios. The isothermal conductivity increases with an increase in the concentration of V2O5 due to the vacancy migration phenomenon. It has been found that the conductivity of different compositions of Bi2O3–V2O5 increases and shows a jump in the temperature range 230–260°C due to the phase transition of BiVO4 from monoclinic scheelite type to that of tetragonal scheelite type. The endothermic peak in DSC at around 260°C reveals the phase transition, which is also confirmed by the XRD and FT-IR analysis. The XRD patterns confirmed the monoclinic structure of BiVO4.  相似文献

Optically clear glasses in the ZnO–Bi2O3–B2O3 (ZBBO) system were fabricated via the conventional melt-quenching technique. Dielectric constant and loss measurements carried out on ZBBO glasses unraveled nearly frequency (1 kHz–10 MHz)-independent dielectric characteristics associated with significantly low loss (D?=?0.004). However, weak temperature response was found with temperature coefficient of dielectric constant 18?±?4 ppm °C?1 in the 35–250 °C temperature range. The conduction and relaxation phenomena were rationalized using universal AC conductivity power law and modulus formalism respectively. The activation energy for relaxation determined using imaginary parts of modulus peaks was 2.54 eV which was close to that of the DC conduction implying the involvement of similar energy barriers in both the processes. Stretched and power exponents were temperature dependent. The relaxation and conduction in these glasses were attributed to the hoping and migration of Bi3+ cations in their own and different local environment.  相似文献

Nonstoichiometric variation of oxygen content in La2 ? xSrxNiO4 + δ (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4) and decomposition P(O2) were determined by means of high temperature gravimetry and coulometric titration. The measurements were carried out in the temperature range between 873 and 1173 K and the P(O2) range between 10? 20 and 1 bar. La2 ? xSrxNiO4 + δ showed the oxygen excess and the oxygen deficient compositions depending on P(O2), temperature, and the Sr content. The value of partial molar enthalpy of oxygen approaches zero as δ increases in the oxygen excess region, which indicate that the interstitial oxygen formation reaction is suppressed as δ increase. The relationship between δ and logP(O2) were analyzed by two types of defect equilibrium models. One is a localized electron model, and the other is a delocalized electron model. Both models can well explain the oxygen nonstoichiometry of La2 ? xSrxNiO4 + δ with a regular solution approximation.  相似文献

Structures of monolayer nickel nitride (NiN) on Cu(0 0 1) surface are studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), low energy electron diffraction (LEED) and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). Formations of Ni–N chemical bonds and NiN monolayer at the surface are confirmed by XPS on the N-adsorbed Cu(0 0 1) surfaces after Ni deposition and subsequent annealing to 670 K. A c(2 × 2) structure is always observed in the LEED patterns, which is a quite contrast to the (2 × 2)p4g structure observed usually at the N-adsorbed Ni(0 0 1) surface. Atomic images by STM indicate the mixture of Ni–N and Cu–N structures at the surface. Density of the trenches on the N-saturated surface decreases and the grid pattern on partially N-covered surfaces becomes disordered with increasing the Ni coverage. These results are attributed to the decrease of the surface compressive stress at the N-adsorbed Cu surface by mixing Ni atoms.  相似文献

(Mg1 ? xFex)1 ? δO (x = 0.01–0.43) single crystals (~ 8 mm in diameter) were made by a melt-growth method. Electrical conductivity measurements were carried out as functions of temperature and frequency by a complex impedance method under pressure (~ 43 GPa and ~ 673 K and at 0.1 MPa and ~ 1400 K). Our experimental results show a change in charge transport mechanism in the (Mg1 ? xFex)1 ? δO solid solution at high temperature. The temperature of inflection point of the slope in Arrhenius plots depend greatly on both composition and extrinsic factors of crystals. The low-temperature conduction mechanism in (Mg1 ? xFex)1 ? δO solid solution is small polaron. Pressure effect of the electric conductivity was observed and the conductivity increased to 0.5 at log scale of S/m with increasing pressure up to 43.4 GPa. The activation energy was decreased linearly with increasing pressure. Chemical composition and homogeneity of specimen rather than pressure greatly influence the electric conductivity. The activation energy of 2.37(4) eV for the (Mg0.99Fe0.01)1 ? δO solid solution might correspond to a migration enthalpy of O ions through thermally formed defects. It is proposed that a possible dominant electrical conduction mechanism in ferropericlase under the lower mantle conditions, at least in the higher temperature region, is super ionic conduction.  相似文献

The third-order optical properties of GeO2–Bi2O3–PbO–TiO2 glasses at 532 nm and 1,064 nm were studied to evaluate their potential for optical limiting and all-optical switching. The Z-scan technique was used to determine the nonlinear (NL) refractive index, n 2, and the NL absorption coefficient, α 2, of samples with different amounts of the constituent oxides. Values of n 2 ≈ + 0.7 × 10?14 cm2/W at 1,064 nm and ≈+1.5 × 10?14 cm2/W at 532 nm were measured. The NL absorption coefficient, α 2, was smaller than the minimum that our apparatus can measure (α 2 < 0.01 cm/GW) in the near-infrared (1,064 nm); in the visible region (532 nm), we obtained α 2 ≈ 4.4 cm/GW. The set of NL parameters measured indicates the potential usefulness of the GeO2–Bi2O3–PbO–TiO2 glasses for all-optical switching at 1,064 nm and for optical limiting at 532 nm.  相似文献

The adsorption of coronene (C24H12) on the Si(1 1 1)-(7 × 7) surface is studied using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). Upon room temperature submonolayer deposition, we find that the coronene molecules preferentially adsorb on the unfaulted half of the 7 × 7 unit cell. Molecules adsorbed on different sites can be induced to move to the preferential sites by the action of the tip in repeated image scans. Imaging of the molecules is strongly bias dependent, and also critically depends on the adsorption site. We analyze the results in terms of differential bonding strength for the different adsorption sites and we identify those substrate atoms which participate in the bonding with the molecule.  相似文献
