Preliminary investigations of ultrasound induced acoustic streaming using particle image velocimetry
Particle image velocimetry was used to investigate ultrasound-induced acoustic streaming in a system for the enhanced uptake of substances from the aquatic medium into fish. Four distinct regions of the induced streaming in the system were observed and measured. One of the regions was identified as an preferential site for substance uptake, where the highest velocities in proximity to the fish surface were measured. A positive linear relationship was found between the ultrasound intensity and the maximum streaming velocity, where a unitless geometric factor, specific to the system, was calculated for correcting the numerical relationship between the two parameters. The results are part of a comprehensive study aimed at improving mass transdermal administrations of substances (e.g. vaccines, hormones) into fish from the aquatic medium. 相似文献

The model that takes chemical reactions, heat and mass transfers in the boundary layer of the particle into account simultaneously, is developed for simulating the combustion of a pulverized coal particle. The FTIR in situ temperature-measurements and the comparison between numerical simulations for the pulverized coal and the devolatilized char show that the volatile flame induces the combustion of the primary product of surface oxidation CO. Due to the influence of volatile flame, the char particle can be ignited at temperature lower than its heterogeneous ignition temperature, which elucidates the physical essence of joint hetero-homogeneous ignition mode discovered by Jüntgen. 相似文献

High-β Deuterium plasmas in a temperature range of 0.1–1 keV were produced in the fast toroidal screw pinch experiment ISAR IV (B max≈33 kG,I z max≈100–150 kA, coil diameter 12 cm, aspect ratio 5). The experimentally determined growth rates of the appearing instabilities—especially them=1 mode—are compared with two simple models and a more exact numerical calculation. This comparison and direct measurements of the magnetic field distribution show that the constant pitch model of Bobeldijk1 is a suitable first approximation for the normal screw pinch. Using a delay of thez and θ-bank as a first simple method of field programming this constant pitch profil could be varied in different directions. The results are discussed in more detail and confirm the theoretical picture of stability behaviour of the high-β screw pinch. 相似文献

Deuterated polycrystalline solids (LiD, TiDx and PdDx, etc.) were impacted by nylon projectiles of < 1 km/s velocity to look for and characterize possible neutron emissions from fracto-fusion type reactions. 以斯托克斯矢量理论为基础,通过搭建偏振传输半实物模拟装置进行模拟实验,观测激光在模拟环境(不同浓度的椭球粒子在非均匀分布状态)下偏振度(degree of polarization, DOP)的变化。实验选取灵芝孢子碳化粉末作为椭球粒子的实验对象,通过烟雾机将椭球粒子形成不同浓度的烟雾,研究入射波长为532 nm、671 nm的激光在0°、+45°、90°的线偏振光以及左旋圆偏振光经过模拟环境后偏振度(DOP)的变化情况。实验结果表明:入射偏振光随着烟雾浓度的增大,偏振度呈下降趋势;3种入射线偏振光随浓度增大降幅不尽相同,没有明显的规律可循;不同波长低浓度烟雾时,线偏振光与圆偏振光的偏振度下降幅度大抵相同,大约为3%左右;随着烟雾浓度的增大,线偏振光的偏振度表现出不同程度的下降,可达20%,圆偏振光的偏振度仅下降5%,表现出了较好的保偏能力。 相似文献

Blend based polymer electrolytes composed of poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), poly(vinylalcohol) (PVA) and LiClO4 are prepared using solvent casting technique. The polymer films are characterized by XRD and FTIR studies to determine the
molecular environment for the conducting ions. These polymer films have been investigated in terms of ionic conductivity using
the results of impedance studies. The influence of the blend composition on the electrochemical behaviour is also discussed.
The highest room temperature conductivity obtained for the film consisting of PMMA, PVA, LiClO4 and DMP is 0.06×10−3 S/cm at 303 K. The PMMA-PVA blend based polymer electrolytes look very desirable and promising for lithium battery applications. 相似文献

The multibubble sonoluminescence (MBSL) intensities from water exposed to the simultaneous ultrasonic irradiation from 20 kHz (fixed at 6.3 W) and 355 kHz (variable power) ultrasound sources have been compared to the MBSL from the individual ultrasound sources under the same power conditions. A synergistic enhancement of the sonoluminescence (SL) signal, >30-fold, at low powers (4.6 W) of the higher frequency was observed. At a higher acoustic power level (15.8 W) the dual frequency operation produced a decrease in the SL signal. These results are in agreement with previously reported data [P. Ciuti, N.V. Dezhkunov, A. Francescutto, F. Calligaris, F. Sturman, Ultrasonics Sonochem. 10 (2003) 337; N.V. Dezhkunov, J. Eng. Phys. Therm. 76 (2003) 142] under similar experimental conditions. Numerical single bubble (SB) dynamics calculations have been used to help interpret the experimental results. It is suggested that the observed effects are caused by a combination of changes to the peak collapse temperature of individual bubbles as well as to changes in the active bubble population. 相似文献

Herein, we investigated experimentally the dynamics of three laser-induced, same-sized, symmetrically aligned, and synchronized bubbles. Three synchronized laser beams split from the same beam using a Diffractive Optical Element splitter were focused on water, and then we obtained three bubbles. Another nanosecond laser pulse was used to probe the bubbles to obtain shadowgraphs. The exact delay of the excited and detected light was controlled using a delay generator. The results revealed that the maximum volumes of bubbles in arrays decrease as the normalized distance falls, while the lifetimes and translation increase. It was explained by the interaction between the acoustic radiation of bubbles and the surrounding bubbles. The shrinkage of linear bubble arrays exists an anomaly. The center bubbles were stretched, to ellipsoid, stick, even fractured, by the peripheral bubbles. The closer they are, the more distinct is the above phenomenon. However, when the normalized distance was sufficiently small, instead of being stretched, the center bubbles were compressed to disk shape and thus shrank with the whole array. Finally, the dependence of the distance on the energy transfer of the bubble system is also discussed. 相似文献

We report on optical and structural X-ray studies on a smectic C twist grain boundary phase (TGB) of a pure liquid crystalline material. It is shown that this TGB phase, which exists over a large range of temperature, is definitely different from previously reported and predicted TGB phases. The two main experimental features are: (i) the observation in planar geometry of an optical texture exhibiting a
square grid pattern, and (ii) the detection of a broad Bragg ring in reciprocal space instead of one (TGB) or two (TGB) sharp rings. We suggest a few possible tracks that can be explored to understand the complex structure of this new phase.

A review of recent elastic differential cross section (DCS) measurements for positronatom scattering is presented. Most of
the earlier measurements are relative DCS determinations which only enable the shapes of DCS curves (versus angle at a given
energy) to be compared with theory, while the most recent efforts in Bielefeld and Detroit are directed toward determining
absolute DCS values such that magnitudes as well as shapes can be compared with theory. For positron-argon scattering, reasonable
agreement has been found between experiment and theory at 300 eV and below 9 eV, while between these energies, significant
differences exist, which raises interesting questions concerning possible cross-channel-coupling effects where other scattering
channels (e.g. positronium formation and/or ionization) may be having appreciable effects on the elastic scattering channel. 相似文献

Magnetic drug targeting (MDT) has been established as a promising technique for tumour treatment. Due to its high targeting efficiency unwanted side effects are considerably reduced, since drug-loaded nanoparticles are concentrated within a target region due to the influence of a magnetic field. This work presents experimental results that are based on systematic quantitative measurements on a branched tube model as a model system for a blood vessel supplying a tumour. The systematic measurements are summarized in novel drug targeting maps, combining e.g. the net amount of targeted nanoparticles, the magnetic volume force and also the position of the magnet. The model, the injection procedure and the ferrofluid are chosen close to the parameters of a medical application. This will allow transfer of the results to future medical investigations. This work will present a targeting map, where the concentration of the injected ferrofluid is in the range of experiments with an ex vivo bovine artery model. 相似文献

The influence of homogeneous and inhomogeneous line broadening on gain saturation, optimum decoupling and output power of the He-Ne laser is investigated experimentally. It is shown that both types of broadening are present, and that the output power is essentially determined by the homogeneous part if the gas pressure is chosen for maximum output. 完成了调制气流声源阵列的相干合成实验. 提出了利用主动相位控制方法实现调制气流声源阵列相干合成的思路, 介绍了基于随机并行梯度下降算法的声源阵列相干合成的原理. 对利用该算法实现声源阵列的相干合成进行了数值模拟, 完成了双调制气流声源阵列在远场的相干合成实验, 并给出算法参数的合理设置方案. 实验结果显示, 基频成分的相干合成效果明显, 算法收敛时测点处的声压级相比单源发射增加了4 dB, 接近于各单源功率谱中基频成分相干合成、其他频率成分非相干合成的结果; 结果表明实验中算法能够有效控制各调制气流声源辐射声波的相位, 取得了明显的相干合成效果.
