We define p-adic multiple zeta and log gamma functions using multiple Volkenborn integrals, and develop some of their properties. Although our functions are close analogues of classical Barnes multiple zeta and log gamma functions and have many properties similar to them, we find that our p-adic analogues also satisfy reflection functional equations which have no analogues to the complex case. We conclude with a Laurent series expansion of the p-adic multiple log gamma function for (p-adically) large x which agrees exactly with Barnes?s asymptotic expansion for the (complex) multiple log gamma function, with the fortunate exception that the error term vanishes. Indeed, it was the possibility of such an expansion which served as the motivation for our functions, since we can use these expansions computationally to p-adically investigate conjectures of Gross, Kashio, and Yoshida over totally real number fields.

Liouville's fractional integration is used to define polygamma functions ψ(n)(Z) for negative integer n. It is shown that such ψ(n)(Z) can be represented in a closed form by means of the first derivatives of the Hurwitz Zeta function. Relations to the Barnes G-function and generalized Glaisher's constants are also discussed.  相似文献

We provide new representations for the finite parts at the poles and the derivative at zero of the Barnes zeta function in any dimension in the general case. These representations are in the forms of series and limits. We also give an integral representation for the finite parts at the poles. Similar results are derived for an associated function, which we term homogeneous Barnes zeta function. Our expressions immediately yield analogous representations for the logarithm of the Barnes gamma function, including the particular case also known as multiple gamma function.  相似文献

We prove several relations on multiple Hurwitz–Riemann zeta functions. Using analytic continuation of these multiple Hurwitz–Riemann zeta functions, we quote at negative integers Euler's nonlinear relation for generalized Bernoulli polynomials and numbers. As an application, we give a general convolution identity for Bernoulli numbers.  相似文献

It is demonstrated that the alternating Lipschitz-Lerch zeta function and the alternating Hurwitz zeta function constitute a discrete Fourier transform pair. This discrete transform pair makes it possible to deduce, as special cases and consequences, many (mainly new) transformation relations involving the values at rational arguments of alternating variants of various zeta functions, such as the Lerch and Hurwitz zeta functions and Legendre chi function.  相似文献

Using an integral transform with a mild singularity, we obtain series representations valid for specific regions in the complex plane involving trigonometric functions and the central binomial coefficient which are analogues of the types of series representations first studied by Ramanujan over certain intervals on the real line. We then study an exponential type series rapidly converging to the special values of L-functions and the Riemann zeta function. In this way, a new series converging to Catalan?s constant with geometric rate of convergence less than a quarter is deduced. Further evaluations of some series involving hyperbolic functions are also given.  相似文献

For Hurwitz zeta function ζ(s, (a/k)) witha = 1,2,3,…,k, we obtain a new simple approximate functional equation (uniform ink andt) in critical strip. Our method should prove to be an alternative approach to Atkinson’s method in dealing with , whereL(s, x) is Dirichlet L-series moduloq and s = σ +it.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the joint value-distribution for the Riemann zeta function and Hurwitz zeta function attached with a transcendental real parameter. Especially, we establish the joint universality theorem for these two zeta functions. Published in Lietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys, Vol. 47, No. 1, pp. 39–57, January–March, 2007.  相似文献

As a generalization of recent work by Kurokawa, Matsuda, and Wakayama (2004) we introduce a higher Riemann zeta function for an abstract sequence. Then we explicitly determine its regularized product expression.

We prove an omega estimate related to the general Euler totient function associated to a polynomial Euler product satisfying some natural analytic properties. For convenience, we work with a set of L-functions similar to the Selberg class, but in principle our results can be proved in a still more general setup. In a recent paper the authors treated a special case of Dirichlet L-functions with real characters. Greater generality of the present paper invites new technical difficulties. Effectiveness of the main theorem is illustrated by corollaries concerning Euler totient functions associated to the shifted Riemann zeta function, shifted Dirichlet L-functions and shifted L-functions of modular forms. Results are either of the same quality as the best known estimates or are entirely new.  相似文献

This paper sketches a technique for improving the rate of convergence of a general oscillatory sequence, and then applies this series acceleration algorithm to the polylogarithm and the Hurwitz zeta function. As such, it may be taken as an extension of the techniques given by Borwein’s “An efficient algorithm for computing the Riemann zeta function” by Borwein for computing the Riemann zeta function, to more general series. The algorithm provides a rapid means of evaluating Li s (z) for general values of complex s and a kidney-shaped region of complex z values given by ∣z 2/(z–1)∣<4. By using the duplication formula and the inversion formula, the range of convergence for the polylogarithm may be extended to the entire complex z-plane, and so the algorithms described here allow for the evaluation of the polylogarithm for all complex s and z values. Alternatively, the Hurwitz zeta can be very rapidly evaluated by means of an Euler–Maclaurin series. The polylogarithm and the Hurwitz zeta are related, in that two evaluations of the one can be used to obtain a value of the other; thus, either algorithm can be used to evaluate either function. The Euler–Maclaurin series is a clear performance winner for the Hurwitz zeta, while the Borwein algorithm is superior for evaluating the polylogarithm in the kidney-shaped region. Both algorithms are superior to the simple Taylor’s series or direct summation. The primary, concrete result of this paper is an algorithm allows the exploration of the Hurwitz zeta in the critical strip, where fast algorithms are otherwise unavailable. A discussion of the monodromy group of the polylogarithm is included.   相似文献

A generating function for specified sums of multiple zeta values is defined and a differential equation that characterizes this function is given. As applications, some relations for multiple zeta values over the field of rational numbers are discussed.

We define and study the multidimensional Appell polynomials associated with theta functions. For the trivial theta functions, we obtain the various well-known Appell polynomials. Many other interesting examples are given. To push our study, by Mellin transform, we introduce and investigate the multidimensional zeta functions associated with thetas functions and prove that the multidimensional Appell polynomials are special values at the nonpositive integers of these zeta functions. Using zeta functions techniques, among others, we prove an induction formula for multidimensional Appell polynomials. The last part of this paper is devoted to spectral zeta functions and its generalization associated with Laplacians on compact Riemannian manifolds. From this generalization, we construct new Appell polynomials associated with Riemannan manifolds of finite dimensions.  相似文献

A multiplication theorem for the Lerch zeta function ?(s,a,ξ) is obtained, from which, when evaluating at s=−n for integers n?0, explicit representations for the Bernoulli and Euler polynomials are derived in terms of two arrays of polynomials related to the classical Stirling and Eulerian numbers. As consequences, explicit formulas for some special values of the Bernoulli and Euler polynomials are given.  相似文献

We study the remainder RN(x) in an asymptotic expansion due to S.N.M. Ruijsenaars, for the logarithm of the double gamma function. We show that for any even number N the function is completely monotonic on (0,∞). This proves a recent conjecture of H.L. Pedersen. In addition, we give an estimate for the remainder RN(x) for N even.  相似文献

We describe an algorithm for obtaining explicit expressions for lower terms for the conjectured full asymptotics of the moments of the Riemann zeta function, and give two distinct methods for obtaining numerical values of these coefficients. We also provide some numerical evidence in favor of the conjecture.  相似文献

In a recent paper, A. Libgober showed that the multiplicative sequence of Chern classes corresponding to the power series appears in a relation between the Chern classes of certain Calabi-Yau manifolds and the periods of their mirrors. We show that the polynomials can be expressed in terms of multiple zeta values.

In this work we present a derivation for the complete asymptotic expansions of Euler?s q-exponential function and Jackson?s q-gamma function via Mellin transform. These formulas are valid everywhere, uniformly on any compact subset of the complex plane.  相似文献

Generalizing the results of Bringmann, Diamantis and Raum [3] we investigate a generating series of non-critical values which can be interpreted as a mock period function and prove that non-critical values can be encoded into a sesquiharmonic Maass form in higher level cases. Moreover we prove Eichler–Shimura-type isomorphism for the space of period polynomials and for that of mock period functions in level p   with p∈{2,3}p{2,3}.  相似文献
