We consider the following anisotropic Emden–Fowler equation where is a bounded smooth domain and a(x) is a positive smooth function. We investigate the effect of anisotropic coefficient a(x) on the existence of bubbling solutions. We show that at given local maximum points of a(x), there exists arbitrarily many bubbles. As a consequence, the quantity can approach to as . These results show a striking difference with the isotropic case [ Constant].  相似文献

In this paper, approximate and/or exact analytical solutions of singular initial value problems (IVPs) of the Emden–Fowler type in the second-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are obtained by the homotopy analysis method (HAM). The HAM solutions contain an auxiliary parameter which provides a convenient way of controlling the convergence region of the series solutions. It is shown that the solutions obtained by the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) and the homotopy-perturbation method (HPM) are only special cases of the HAM solutions.  相似文献

We study the Emden–Fowler equation ?Δu = |u| p?1 u on the hyperbolic space ${{\mathbb H}^n}$ . We are interested in radial solutions, namely solutions depending only on the geodesic distance from a given point. The critical exponent for such equation is p = (n + 2)/(n ? 2) as in the Euclidean setting, but the properties of the solutions show striking differences with the Euclidean case. While the papers (Bhakta and Sandeep, Poincaré Sobolev equations in the hyperbolic space, 2011; Mancini and Sandeep, Ann Sci Norm Sup Pisa Cl Sci 7(5):635–671, 2008) consider finite energy solutions, we shall deal here with infinite energy solutions and we determine the exact asymptotic behavior of wide classes of finite and infinite energy solutions.  相似文献

We study the second order Emden–Fowler type differential equation

in the super-linear case α<βα<β. Using a Hölder-type inequality, we resolve the open problem on the possible coexistence on three possible types of nononscillatory solutions (subdominant, intermediate, and dominant solutions). Jointly with this, sufficient conditions for the existence of globally positive intermediate solutions are established. Some of our results are new also for the Emden–Fowler equation.  相似文献

We are concerned with the Lane–Emden–Fowler equation ?Δu=λf(u)+a(x)g(u) in Ω, subject to the Dirichlet boundary condition u=0 on ?Ω, where Ω?RN is a smooth bounded domain, λ is a positive parameter, a:Ω→[0,∞) is a Hölder function, and f is a positive nondecreasing continuous function such that f(s)/s is nonincreasing in (0,∞). The singular character of the problem is given by the nonlinearity g which is assumed to be unbounded around the origin. In this Note we discuss the existence and the uniqueness of a positive solution of this problem and we also describe the precise decay rate of this solution near the boundary. We consider a three-dimensional discrete dynamical system that describes an application to economics of a generalization of the Lotka–Volterra prey–predator model. The dynamic model proposed is used to describe the interactions among industrial clusters (or districts), following a suggestion given by [23]. After studying some local and global properties and bifurcations in bidimensional Lotka–Volterra maps, by numerical explorations we show how some of them can be extended to their three-dimensional counterparts, even if their analytic and geometric characterization becomes much more difficult and challenging. We also show a global bifurcation of the three-dimensional system that has no two-dimensional analogue. Besides the particular economic application considered, the study of the discrete version of Lotka–Volterra dynamical systems turns out to be a quite rich and interesting topic by itself, i.e. from a purely mathematical point of view.  相似文献

The particular motivation of this work is to develop a computational method to calculate exact and analytic approximate solutions to singular strongly nonlinear initial or boundary value problems of Lane–Emden–Fowler type which model many phenomena in mathematical physics and astrophysics. A powerful algorithm is proposed based on the series representation of the solution via suitable base functions. The utilization of such functions converts the solution of a given nonlinear differential equation to the solution of algebraic equations. Error analysis and convergence of the method is presented. Comparisons with the other methods reveal validity, applicability and great potential of the method. Several physical problems are treated to illustrative the good performance and high accuracy of the technique.  相似文献

In this paper we are concerned about a singular boundary value problem for a quasilinear second-order ordinary differential equation, involving the one-dimensional pp-laplacian. Asymptotic expansions of the one-parameter families of solutions, satisfying the prescribed boundary conditions, are obtained in the neighborhood of the singular points and this enables us to compute numerical solutions using stable shooting methods.  相似文献

The existence of one non-trivial solution for a nonlinear problem on compact d-dimensional ( ${d \geq 3}$ ) Riemannian manifolds without boundary, is established. More precisely, a recent critical point result for differentiable functionals is exploited, in order to prove the existence of a determined open interval of positive eigenvalues for which the considered problem admits at least one non-trivial weak solution. Moreover, as a consequence of our approach, a multiplicity result is presented, requiring the validity of the Ambrosetti–Rabinowitz hypothesis. Successively, the Cerami compactness condition is studied in order to obtain a similar multiplicity theorem in superlinear cases. Finally, applications to Emden-Fowler type equations are presented.  相似文献
