We present an action which generates the supersymmetric self-dual equations corresponding to euclidean super Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions. By adding additional constraint fields with new local symmetries, the classical equations of this system are the usual super self-dual equations when a gauge is chosen for the constraint fields. This construction is a supersymmetric generalization of the Labastida-Pernici action which corresponds to a gauge unfixed version of Witten's topological quantum field theory. We discuss some topological prospects for this model, and the role of supersymmetric instantons in Donaldson theory.  相似文献

A theory based solely on a 2×(N=2)-component Weyl spinor field χ(x) of subcanonical dimension 12 allows the local construction (without derivatives) of effective fermi and bose fields with spins up to N=2. It is demonstrated that the lagrangian ~: det xx1: (x) studied earlier is invariant under a global N=2 supersymmetry transformation and can be cast into a form ~(det DD1):ππ1: involving the scalar chiral superfield π=expx(x + iθσθ1)] the components of which are finite part products of the basic field. The theory can be generalized to an N-supersymmetric theory in a 2N-dimensional space-time yielding the Thirring model as special case for N=1.  相似文献

FeAl alloys in their disordered structural phase have been investigated through an Ising model where besides exchange interactions between nearest-neighbors Fe atoms, a superexchange interaction mediated by Al atoms is also taken into account. The model has been approximately treated according to the effective field theory. Although the phase diagram, as a function of Al concentration, is similar to the one previously obtained from Bogoliubov variational approach for the free energy, a different behavior for the superexchange interaction is achieved, which can also be physically accepted for this system.  相似文献

We show by explicit calculations to second and third order in perturbation theory, that finite temperature effects do not break the supersymmetry Ward-Takahashi identities for graded thermal Green functions of the Wess-Zumino model. Moreover, it is argued that this result is true to all orders in perturbation theory, and further, true for a wide class of supersymmetric theories. We point out, however, that these identities can be broken in the course of a phase transition that restores an originally broken internal symmetry.  相似文献

We use the generic replica symmetric cubic field theory to study the transition of short-range Ising spin glasses in a magnetic field around the upper critical dimension. A novel fixed point is found from the application of the renormalization group. In the spin-glass limit, this fixed point governs the critical behavior of a class of systems characterized by a single cubic parameter. For this universality class, the spin-glass susceptibility diverges at criticality, whereas the longitudinal mode remains massive. The third mode, however, behaves unusually. The physical consequences of this unusual behavior are discussed, and a comparison with the conventional de Almeida-Thouless scenario is presented.  相似文献

Recently,Shi et al.[2008 Phys.Lett.A 372 5922] have studied the dynamical response of the kinetic Ising model in the presence of a sinusoidal oscillating field and presented the dynamic phase diagrams by using an effective-field theory(EFT) and a mean-field theory(MFT).The MFT results are in conflict with those of the earlier work of Tom’e and de Oliveira,[1990 Phys.Rev.A 41 4251].We calculate the dynamic phase diagrams and find that our results are similar to those of the earlier work of Tom’e and de Oliveira;hence the dynamic phase diagrams calculated by Shi et al.are incomplete within both theories,except the low values of frequencies for the MFT calculation.We also investigate the influence of external field frequency(ω) and static external field amplitude(h0) for both MFT and EFT calculations.We find that the behaviour of the system strongly depends on the values of ω and h0.  相似文献

We approximate a (spatially cutoff) (4)2 Euclidean field theory by an ensemble of spin 1/2 Ising spins with ferromagnetic pair interactions. This approximation is used to prove a Lee-Yang theorem and GHS type correlation inequalities for the (4)2 theory. Application of these results are presented.  相似文献

For a d-dimensional φ4 lattice field theory consisting of N spins with nearest-neighbor interactions, the partition function is transformed for large bare coupling constant λ into an Ising-like system with additional neighbor interactions. For d = 2 a mean field approximation is then used to estimate the difference in critical temperature between the lattice φ4 field theory and its Ising limit (λ = ∞). Expansions are obtained for the susceptibility and specific heat. The critical exponents are shown to be identical to the Ising exponents.  相似文献

We compute the exact partition function, the universal ground-state degeneracy and boundary state of the 2D Ising model with boundary magnetic field at off-critical temperatures. The model has a domain that exhibits states localized near the boundaries. We study this domain of boundary bound state and derive exact expressions for the “g function” and boundary state for all temperatures and boundary magnetic fields. In the massless limit we recover the boundary renormalization group flow between the conformally invariant free and fixed boundary conditions.  相似文献

We discuss the current status of random field systems, particularly those with Ising symmetry. Both theory and experiment agree that, in the equilibrium state, there is a transition to an ordered state in three dimensions and no such transition in two dimensions. The critical behavior in three dimensions is, however, not very well understood. More work remains to be done to understand the dynamics, both in the critical region and the low temperature phase.  相似文献

We report a Monte Carlo simulation of the layered Ising antiferromagnet under an external magnetic field. We show that under a staggered field, there occurs a phase transition from a metastable state which follows a Vogel-Fulcher law. For a staggered intrasublattice interaction a similar situation occurs.  相似文献

Replica field theory for the Ising spin glass in zero magnetic field is studied around the upper critical dimension d=6. A scaling theory of the spin glass phase, based on Parisi's ultrametrically organised order parameter, is proposed. We argue that this infinite step replica symmetry broken (RSB) phase is nonperturbative in the sense that amplitudes of scaling forms cannot be expanded in term of the coupling constant w2. Infrared divergent integrals inevitably appear when we try to compute amplitudes perturbatively, nevertheless the -expansion of critical exponents seems to be well-behaved. The origin of these problems can be traced back to the unusual behaviour of the free propagator having two mass scales, the smaller one being proportional to the perturbation parameter w2 and providing a natural infrared cutoff. Keeping the free propagator unexpanded makes it possible to avoid producing infrared divergent integrals.
