报道了两个增益开关调制的法布里-珀罗半导体激光器互注入锁定实验方案,可产生双波长可调谐光脉冲。该装置对两个结构基本相同的法布里珀罗半导体激光器做增益开关调制,产生多模光脉冲输出;然后利用两个光纤光栅作为滤波元件,通过调节可调谐光延迟线(VODL2),可使得双波长光脉冲在两个法布里-珀罗激光器之间相互注入锁定.从而在输出端得到高边模抑制比的双波长光脉冲输出。然后再通过应力作用在两个光纤光栅上以改变它们的反射波长和适当调整另一个可调谐光延迟线(VODLI)长度.可得到不同的双波长的光脉冲输出,而重复频率保持524.6MHz不变。在13.2nm调谐范围内边模抑制比高于25dB.系统稳定且波长调节方便。  相似文献

光谱稳定性对直接探测多普勒测风激光雷达的影响研究   总被引:5,自引:5,他引:0  
从种子注入固体激光器的不稳定和多普勒频移检测干涉仪的光谱漂移出发,模拟和分析其对基于双边缘探测技术的直接探测多普勒激光雷达风速测量准确度的影响. 模拟结果显示,在5 min积分时间的30 000个脉冲内,如果达到风速准确度1 m/s,要求激光器出现多纵模的脉冲不能超过总脉冲个数的0.06%.在干涉仪光谱稳定方面,使用两级温控可以将干涉仪温度控制在±0.002℃,对应风速误差为±0.226 m/s.同时提出通过监视种子注入过程中的脉冲建立时间和干涉仪温度,可以在数据反演时,消除激光频率跳动和干涉仪光谱漂移对风速测量准确度的影响.  相似文献

In this paper we present the dependency of a quantitative measurement of the first-order longitudinal mode beating of an injection-seeded optical parametric oscillator (OPO) on its injection-seeding state. We show the correlation of the intensity of the first-order longitudinal mode beating and the side-mode suppression of an injection-seeded OPO. We further demonstrate that the mode-beating intensity can be used as an indicator for the spectral purity of an injection-seeded OPO.  相似文献

A simple system for producing continuous and widely wavelength-tunable optical short pulses in a mutual injection-seeding scheme is presented. The system exhibits a good side-mode suppression ratio of greater than 32.7 dB over a large wavelength tuning range of 33.8 nm. The system is easy to operate and convenient for continuous wavelength tuning.  相似文献

We report a simple and robust technique to generate a dispersive signal which serves as an error signal to electronically stabilize a monomode continuous-wave laser emitting around an atomic resonance. We explore nonlinear effects in the laser beam propagation through a resonant vapor by way of spatial filtering. The performance of this technique is validated by locking semiconductor lasers to the cesium and rubidium D2 lines and observing long-term reduction of the emission frequency drifts, making the lasers well adapted for many atomic physics applications.  相似文献

We present an architecture permitting broad tuning of monolithic microchip lasers by using a wedged etalon. Full tuning from 282 to 314 nm is demonstrated by using a miniature Ce:LiCAF laser design, where tuning is achieved by translating the entire Ce laser cavity relative to the pump beam. The application of this technique to a range of microchip lasers will lead to extremely robust tunable monolithic lasers.  相似文献

A new technique is described for producing trains of nanosecond duration pulses from flashlamp pumped dye lasers, by pulsed modulation of the cavity flux with an electro-optic Q-switch. Spectrally narrow (0.005 nm), 2 ns duration pulses are obtained in 300 ns long trains over a wide spectral range at 5 Hz repetiion rate. Applications to other lasers systems is discussed.  相似文献

在对超短超强激光与等离子体相互作用进行粒子模拟诊断的研究中,输出量普遍为时间或空间上的非平稳信号。将时频分布技术引入粒子模拟结果的诊断,指出用时频分布技术等现代信号处理技术诊断模拟结果中的非平稳信号具有重要意义。作为实例,考察了用线性啁啾激光打靶条件下,包含nc/4(nc为等离子体临界密度)的非均匀等离子体区域中的受激拉曼散射的演化,并用时频分布技术得到了清晰的物理图像。  相似文献

搭建了两台高功率、低量子损耗的1018 nm短波长掺镱光纤激光器,进行了全光纤结构下两路光纤激光器的相干合成实验。获得了功率为55 W、合成效率为90.2%的相干输出,这是当前严格单模1018 nm光纤激光器的最高功率水平。同时,验证了Michelson腔自组织相干合成技术能够实现光纤激光器的高功率单模输出。  相似文献

NASA is engaged in monitoring the health of planet Earth and exploring the other planets. For the former, global measurements of critical Earth parameters including ice sheet thickness, greenhouse gases, oxygen, wind velocity, and aerosols, are required. Highly specialized lasers, sometimes at new laser wavelengths, are needed to measure these variables. There are three approaches for this laser development being pursued by NASA. First, rather than seeking new lasers employing an empirical approach, a quantum mechanical model is used to predict better new lasers. Second, where lasers exist but the wavelength is not quite right, a technique referred to as compositional tuning was developed. Third, innovative laser designs are devised to produce laser sources at the requisite wavelengths.  相似文献

We describe a low-power continuous-wave laser system for water-vapour sensing applications in the 935-nm region. The system is based on extended-cavity diode lasers and distributed-feedback lasers and delivers four single-mode frequency-stabilised optical signals. Three lasers are locked to three water-vapour absorption lines of different strengths, whereas the fourth lies outside any absorption line. On-line stabilisation is performed by wavelength-modulation spectroscopy using compact water-vapour reference cells. An offset-locking technique implemented around an electrical filter is applied for the stabilisation of the off-line slave laser to an on-line master laser at a frequency detuning of 18.8 GHz. Stabilities in the order of 15 MHz over one day were observed for the strongest lines, at the detection limit of the measurement instrumentation. The developed techniques and schemes can be applied to other wavelength ranges and molecular species. Differential absorption lidar instrumentation can in particular benefit from such a system when the stabilised lasers serve as injection seeders to pulsed power oscillators. The coherent beam addition of pulsed fiber lasers is an effective way to improve the average power and the peak pulse power. We demonstrate a new architecture based on mutual injection and phase modulation to generate synchronous pulsed fiber lasers. Firstly, we realize the synchronization of the pulses of three fiber lasers using this technique. Secondly, coherent addition of three synchronous pulsed fiber lasers is obtained. Experimental results show that the three fiber lasers are phase locked and have good temporal and spatial coherence under mutual injection locking. This method can be extended to combine more beams.  相似文献

A commonly used technique for frequency locking a laser is dithering the laser frequency and monitoring the first derivative of the laser transmission through an absolute reference. In semiconductor lasers, this frequency dithering can be obtained easily by dithering the injection current. However, this dithering also modulates the laser output power. Here we show that this modulation of the laser output power results in an offset of the locked laser frequency from the reference frequency. We derive analytical expressions for these frequency offsets for semiconductor lasers frequency-locked to a Fabry-Perot transmission peak, a Gaussian absorption line, and a Lorentzian absorption line.  相似文献

Self-pulsing of continuous-wave Tm:YAlO3 lasers limits their use for a variety of important applications. We demonstrate for the first time that the pulsing can be suppressed via feedback to the pump diode laser, a technique that is suitable for both external resonator and monolithic lasers. We also show that the optical transfer function of the laser is that of an unstable relaxation oscillator.  相似文献

Proposals have been made to utilise arrays of GaAs lasers in optical computer memories. For fast, random access to data the use of acousto-optical deflectors seems feasible. The number of lasers for use with each deflector is normally severely limited, because of the bandwidth limitation which is inherent in acousto-optic devices. This note describes a technique whereby the bandwidth limitation can be largely overcome, so that light from many lasers can be deflected by a single deflector.  相似文献

We demonstrate coherent detection of continuous-wave mid-infrared radiation. This radiation is produced by use of conventional difference-frequency mixing and detected via the linear electro-optic effect. The detection process allows for the simultaneous measurement of the amplitude and phase properties of the infrared field. Both processes require an amplitude-modulated optical beam that is derived from the superimposed output of two single-frequency lasers. With appropriate choice of lasers and nonlinear optical crystals, the technique may be applied to any wavelength throughout the far and mid infrared.  相似文献

A very simple and efficient technique for the remote sensing of a noncooperative target is presented. This technique is based on the frequency-shifted reinjection of light in a class B laser. Ytterbium- and erbium-doped fiber lasers have both been used to measure displacements with a submicrometric resolution and the vibration power spectrum of an object.  相似文献

Progress in material research and processing industry is fueled by the technique of pulsed laser deposition (PLD). High energy excimer lasers enable this technique since every material is amenable to their high photon energies. Spectral properties, temporal pulse and laser beam parameters of state of the art excimer lasers will be compared with frequency converted Nd:YAG lasers. Both quality and longevity of the deposited layers strongly depend on the degree of accuracy achieved in the thin film ablation and subsequent deposition process.  相似文献
