Two novel azo-containing iniferters, (4,4′-(diazene-1,2-diyl) bis(4,1-phenylene) bis(2-(diethylca-rbamothioylthio)-2-methylpropanoate (BDCMP) and 4-((4-bromophenyl)diazenyl)phenyl-2-(diethylcarbamothioylthio)-2-methylpropanoate (PDCMP) were synthesized and used successfully as the initiators for atom transfer radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA). The kinetic plots were first order and the molecular weights of the polymers with narrow molecular weight distributions increased with the monomer conversions. Furthermore, the results showed that the apparent initiation efficiencies (f was close to 0.90 defined as M n(th)/M n(GPC)) of BDCMP and PDCMP were both higher than that (f was lower than 0.5) of 2-N,N-(diethylamino)dithiocarboyl-isobutyrate (EDCIB), which was reported previously by us (14 Zhang, W., Zhu, X. L., Cheng, Z. P. and Zhu, J. 2007. J. Appl. Polym. Sci., 106: 2307. [Crossref] [Google Scholar]). The obtained mono- and bi-functional PMMAs containing azo and N,N-diethyldithiocarbamate (DC) groups were confirmed by 1H-NMR and ultraviolet absorption spectra, respectively. The block copolymer, poly (methyl methacrylate)-b-polystyrene (PMMA-b-PS), was also successfully prepared via the ATRP chain-extension experiment using the obtained PMMA as a macroinitiator.  相似文献

Organomanganate reagents [R3Mn]Li+ (R = Bu, Me) were found to polymerize methyl methacrylate in the presence of potassium tert‐butylate. A conversion of the tacticity of the resulting poly(methyl methacrylate)s from heterotactic (mr = 54%) to isotactic (mm = 58%) was observed upon changing the R group of the initiator from Bu to Me. The addition of triisobutylaluminium was found to efficiently control w and w/n of the resulting polymers.  相似文献

Polymerization rate and molecular weight development experimental results for the emulsion polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA), in the presence of potassium persulphate (PPS) as initiator, and activated with a 50 W microwave source, are reported. The polymerization kinetics of the microwave activation experiment (MA) was compared against a traditional conductive heating (CH) polymerization reaction. The number average molecular weights, Mn, of the polymer samples obtained with microwave activation were significantly higher than those obtained from conductive heating. These high values of Mn were obtained from the beginning of the polymerization reaction. Polydispersity index (PDI) values in the range of 1.18 to 1.83 were obtained in the microwave irradiated samples. These values are lower than those produced by conventional emulsion polymerization of styrene and other vinyl monomers, and resemble the PDI values obtained in controlled‐radical polymerization processes. Polymer particles of submicron size (60 to 100 nm) were obtained.  相似文献

考虑甲基丙烯酸甲酯聚合过程中体积收缩,反应物和生成物的浓度变化,以及由于凝胶、玻璃化和笼闭等效应对各速率常数和物性参数的影响,从基元反应和物料平衡出发,推导了半间歇,有链转移剂参与情况下的聚合动力学和分子量模型。用模型仿真计算了聚合温度、引发剂、溶剂和链转移剂的种类和浓度等对甲基丙烯酸甲酯聚合动力学和聚合过程中分子量变化的影响规律,并与实验和文献数据进行比较。  相似文献

在自由基聚合反应中,每个聚合物分子都是经历成百上千次加成聚合形成。由于聚合次数不完全相同造成实际链长的不等性,故由稳态近似法所获得的结果只是一个平均的概念,对反应未达平衡态时不适用。本文运用统计的方法,克服了非稳态方法的限制。通过从任意时间微元扩展至反应结束,获得了甲基丙烯酸甲酯聚合反应相应的统计关系式,如聚合物的数量、重量分布及聚合物的平均分子量等,对深入了解高分子化学反应的本质具有重要的价值和意义。  相似文献

Summary: Plasma‐initiated controlled/living radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) was carried out in the presence of 2‐cyanoprop‐2‐yl 1‐dithionaphthalate. Well‐defined poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), with a narrow polydispersity, could be synthesized. The polymerization is proposed to occur via a RAFT mechanism. Chain‐extension reactions were also successfully carried out to obtain higher molecular weight PMMA and PMMA‐block‐PSt copolymer.

The reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as surfactant and a difunctional RAFT agent S,S′-bis (α, α′-dimethylacetic acid) trithiocarbonate (BDAT) as chain transfer were conducted in microemulsion. The influence of polymerization temperature and concentration of RAFT agent on the polymerization were investigated, respectively. The results showed that the molecular weight of products increased linearly with conversion, the polydispersity indexes remained low value, and the polymerization processes were totally under control with increasing concentration of RAFT agent, the polymerization behavior exhibited living polymerization characters. In addition, the influence of RAFT concentration on the particle size was investigated by TEM. The results indicated that the particles were highly monodispersed and the particle size increased with increasing concentration of RAFT agent.  相似文献

采用乳液聚合法将甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA)接枝到氯丁胶乳上,红外光谱和核磁共振氢谱证实了接枝产物的生成。 研究了反应温度、乳化剂浓度、引发剂浓度和单体浓度对表观聚合速率的影响。 结果表明,当反应温度为50 ℃,引发剂叔丁基过氧化氢 四乙烯五胺(t-BHP/TEPA)用量为氯丁胶乳干重的0.5%,单体/聚合物质量比m(M)∶m(P)=3∶5,乳化剂十二烷基连苯醚二磺酸钠(DSB)用量为单体总质量1%时,单体转化率和接枝效率分别为99.1%和54.9%。 聚合反应动力学关系式为:Rp=Kc(E)0.15c(I)0.30c(MMA)1.41,式中,K为常数,在40~55 ℃范围内,聚合反应的表观活化能Ea=60.2 kJ/mol。 接枝聚合基本符合自由基反应机理。  相似文献

以甲基丙烯酸(MAA)、甲基丙烯酸苄基酯(BZMA)、甲基丙烯酸羟乙酯(HEMA)和丙烯酸正丁酯(BA)为共聚单体,偶氮二异丁腈(AIBN)为引发剂,2-(十二烷基三硫代碳酸酯基)-2-甲基丙酸(DMP)为链转移试剂,采用可逆加成-断裂链转移聚合(RAFT)制备了甲基丙烯酸酯共聚物(PMBBH)。利用傅立叶红外光谱(FT-IR)、核磁共振氢谱(1HNMR)和凝胶渗透色谱(GPC)对共聚物的结构进行了表征。以共聚物PMBBH为基体树脂制备了负性光致抗蚀剂,考察了PMBBH的分子量对光致抗蚀剂分辨率的影响。结果表明,以数均分子量为5.45×103 g/mol,重均分子量为7.79×103 g/mol的PMBBH-2作为基体树脂时,该光致抗蚀剂得到的图像轮廓清晰,图形分辨率可达50 μm。  相似文献

Recent studies have revealed that at temperatures around 200°K in tetrahydrofuran solvent, poly(methy1 methacrylate) ion pairs are long-lived and very reactive. At higher temperatures however termination of the ion pairs occurs, as evidenced by the broadening of the molecular weight distribution of the resultant polymer and by the incomplete polymerization of the monomer. Three mechanisms have been proposed to describe these termination reactions; an inter molecular reaction with the monomer ester function, an intramolecular cyclization of the anion, or reaction with the polymer ester function. In the absence of monomer only the last two mechanisms can be operative. A series of experiments was undertaken in which the molecular weight distribution broadening with temperature increase was measured under typical polymerization conditions or in the absence of monomer. The effect of each of the three counterions Li, Na, and K was also monitored. The results obtained are discussed in terms of these three possible termination mechanisms. Termination rate constants calculated from the molecular weight distribution are also presented.  相似文献

The molecular weight distribution formed in an ideal reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT)‐mediated radical polymerization is considered theoretically. In this polymerization, the addition to the RAFT agent is reversible, and the active period on the same chain could be repeated, via the two‐armed intermediate, with probability 1/2. This possible repetition is accounted for by introducing a new concept, the overall active/dormant periods. With this method, the apparent functional form of the molecular weight distribution (MWD) reduces to that proposed for the ideal living radical polymers (Tobita, Macromol. Theory Simul. 2006 , 15, 12). The repetition results in a broader MWD than without the repetition. The formulae for the average molecular weights formed in batch and a continuous stirred tank reactor are also presented.
