In the strip П = (?1, 0) × ?, we establish the existence of solutions of the Cauchy problem for the Korteweg-de Vries equation u t + u xxx + uu x = 0 with initial condition either 1) u(?1, x) = ?(x), or 2) u(?1, x) = ?(?x), where θ is the Heaviside function. The solutions constructed in this paper are infinitely smooth for t ∈ (?1, 0) and rapidly decreasing as x → +∞. For the case of the first initial condition, we also establish uniqueness in a certain class. Similar special solutions of the KdV equation arise in the study of the asymptotic behavior with respect to small dispersion of the solutions of certain model problems in a neighborhood of lines of weak discontinuity.  相似文献

A complete asymptotic expansion as x → ±∞ of the Gurevich-Pitaevskii universal special solution of the Korteweg-de Vries equation u t + u xxx + u ux = 0 is constructed and justified. The expansion is infinitely differentiable with respect to the variables t and x and, together with the asymptotic expansions of all its derivatives with respect to independent variables, is uniform on any compact interval of variation of the time t.  相似文献

The singularly perturbed parabolic equation ?u t + ε2Δu ? f(u, x, ε) = 0, xD ? ?2, t > 0 with Robin conditions on the boundary of D is considered. The asymptotic stability as t → ∞ and the global domain of attraction are analyzed for the stationary solution whose limit as ε → 0 is a nonsmooth solution to the reduced equation f(u, x, 0) = 0 that consists of two intersecting roots of this equation.  相似文献

Lie point symmetries associated with the new (2+1)-dimensional KdV equation ut + 3uxuy + uxxy = 0 are investigated. Some similarity reductions are derived by solving the corresponding characteristic equations. Painlevé analysis for this equation is also presented and the soliton solution is obtained directly from the Bǎcklund transformation.  相似文献

We prove that the mixed problem for the Klein–Gordon–Fock equation u tt (x, t) ? u xx (x, t) + au(x, t) = 0, where a ≥ 0, in the rectangle Q T = [0 ≤ x ≤ l] × [0 ≤ tT] with zero initial conditions and with the boundary conditions u(0, t) = μ(t) ∈ L p [0, T ], u(l, t) = 0, has a unique generalized solution u(x, t) in the class L p (Q T ) for p ≥ 1. We construct the solution in explicit analytic form.  相似文献

We study the inverse problem of the reconstruction of the coefficient ?(x, t) = ?0(x, t) + r(x) multiplying ut in a nonstationary parabolic equation. Here ?0(x, t) ≥ ?0 > 0 is a given function, and r(x) ≥ 0 is an unknown function of the class L(Ω). In addition to the initial and boundary conditions (the data of the direct problem), we pose the problem of nonlocal observation in the form ∫0Tu(x, t) (t) = χ(x) with a known measure (t) and a function χ(x). We separately consider the case (t) = ω(t)dt of integral observation with a smooth function ω(t). We obtain sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the inverse problem, which have the form of ready-to-verify inequalities. We suggest an iterative procedure for finding the solution and prove its convergence. Examples of particular inverse problems for which the assumptions of our theorems hold are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, the Fokas unified method is used to analyze the initial-boundary value for the Chen- Lee-Liu equation
$i{\partial _t}u + {\partial_{xx}u - i |u{|^2}{\partial _x}u = 0}$
on the half line (?∞, 0] with decaying initial value. Assuming that the solution u(x, t) exists, we show that it can be represented in terms of the solution of a matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem formulated in the plane of the complex spectral parameter λ. The jump matrix has explicit (x, t) dependence and is given in terms of the spectral functions {a(λ), b(λ)} and {A(λ), B(λ)}, which are obtained from the initial data u0(x) = u(x, 0) and the boundary data g0(t) = u(0, t), g1(t) = ux(0, t), respectively. The spectral functions are not independent, but satisfy a so-called global relation.

The equation ?2u/?t?x + up?u/?x = uq describing a nonstationary process in semiconductors, with parameters p and q that are a nonnegative integer and a positive integer, respectively, and satisfy p + q ≥ 2, is considered in the half-plane (x, t) ∈ ? × (0,∞). All in all, fourteen families of its exact solutions are constructed for various parameter values, and qualitative properties of these solutions are noted. One of these families is defined for all parameter values indicated above.  相似文献

In a Banach space E, we consider the abstract Euler–Poisson–Darboux equation u″(t) + kt?1u′(t) = Au(t) on the half-line. (Here k ∈ ? is a parameter, and A is a closed linear operator with dense domain on E.) We obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for the solvability of the Cauchy problem u(0) = 0, lim t→0+t k u′(t) = u1, k < 0, for this equation. The condition is stated in terms of an estimate for the norms of the fractional power of the resolvent of A and its derivatives. We introduce the operator Bessel function with negative index and study its properties.  相似文献

We investigate equations of the form D t u = Δu + ξ? u for an unknown function u(t, x), t ∈ ?, xX, where D t u = a 0(u, t) + Σ k=1 r a k (t, u)? t k u, Δ is the Laplace-Beltrami operator on a Riemannian manifold X, and ξ is a smooth vector field on X. More exactly, we study morphisms from this equation within the category PDE of partial differential equations, which was introduced by the author earlier. We restrict ourselves to morphisms of a special form—the so-called geometric morphisms, which are given by maps of X to other smooth manifolds (of the same or smaller dimension). It is shown that a map f: XY defines a morphism from the equation D t u = Δu + ξ? u if and only if, for some vector field Ξ and a metric on Y, the equality (Δ + ξ?)f*v = f*(Δ + Ξ?)v holds for any smooth function v: Y → ?. In this case, the quotient equation is D t v = Δv + Ξ?v for an unknown function v(t, y), yY. It is also shown that, if a map f: XY is a locally trivial bundle, then f defines a morphism from the equation D t u = Δu if and only if fibers of f are parallel and, for any path γ on Y, the expansion factor of a fiber translated along the horizontal lift γ to X depends on γ only.  相似文献

In the present paper, in terms of a generalized solution of the wave equation, we perform an exhaustive study of the problem on the boundary control by an elastic force u x (0, t) = µ(t) at one endpoint x = 0 of a string in the presence of a model nonlocal boundary condition of one of four types relating (with the sign “+” or “?”) the values of the displacement u(x, t) or its derivative u x (x, t) at the boundary point x = l of the string to their values at some interior point \(\mathop x\limits^ \circ \) of the string (0 < \(\mathop x\limits^ \circ \) < l). We prove necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of such boundary controls. Under these conditions, we optimize the controls by minimizing the boundary energy integral and then write out the optimal boundary controls in closed analytic form.  相似文献

The aim of the paper is to investigate the boundary value problem of the evolution equation Lu = K (x,t) ut - Δu + a (x,t) u = f (x,t). The characteristic property of this type of equations is the failure of the Petrovski’s “A” condition when coefficients are constant [1]. In this case, Cauchy problem is incorrect in the sense of Hadamard. Hence in this paper, the space, guaranteeing the correctness of the boundary value problem in the sense of Hadamard, is selected by adding some additional conditions to the coefficients of the equation.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to a study of L~q-tracing of the fractional temperature field u(t, x)—the weak solution of the fractional heat equation(?_t +(-?_x)~α)u(t, x) = g(t, x) in L~p(R_+~(1+n)) subject to the initial temperature u(0, x) = f(x) in L~p(R~n).  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem for the nonlinear differential equation
$$\varepsilon \frac{{du}}{{dx}} = f(x,u),u(0,\varepsilon ) = R_0 ,$$
where ? > 0 is a small parameter, f(x, u) ∈ C ([0, d] × ?), R 0 > 0, and the following conditions are satisfied: f(x, u) = x ? u p + O(x 2 + |xu| + |u|p+1) as x, u → 0, where p ∈ ? \ {1} f(x, 0) > 0 for x > 0; f u 2(x, u) < 0 for (x, u) ∈ [0, d] × (0, + ∞); Σ 0 +∞ f u 2(x, u) du = ?∞. We construct three asymptotic expansions (external, internal, and intermediate) and prove that the matched asymptotic expansion approximates the solution uniformly on the entire interval [0, d].

In the present paper, we exhaustively solve the problem of boundary control by the displacement u(0, t) = µ(t) at the end x = 0 of the string in the presence of a model nonlocal boundary condition of one of four types relating the values of the displacement u(x, t) or its derivative u x (x, t) at the boundary point x = l of the string to their values at some interior point \(\mathop x\limits^ \circ\).  相似文献

In this paper we give the existence of mild solutions for semilinear Cauchy problems u′(t) = Au(t) +f(t, u(t)), t ∈ I, a.e. with nonlocal initial condition u(O) = g(u) +uo when the map g loses compactness in Banach spaces.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the initial-boundary value problem of porous medium equation ρ(x)u t  = Δu m  + V(x)h(t)u p in a cone D = (0, ∞) × Ω, where \({V(x)\,{\sim}\, |x|^\sigma, h(t)\,{\sim}\, t^s}\). Let ω 1 denote the smallest Dirichlet eigenvalue for the Laplace-Beltrami operator on Ω and let l denote the positive root of l 2 + (n ? 2)l = ω 1. We prove that if \({m < p \leq 1+(m-1)(1+s)+\frac{2(s+1)+\sigma}{n+l}}\), then the problem has no global nonnegative solutions for any nonnegative u 0 unless u 0 = 0; if \({p >1 +(m-1)(1+s)+\frac{2(s+1)+\sigma}{n+l}}\), then the problem has global solutions for some u 0 ≥ 0.  相似文献

The research considers the asymptotic behavior of solutions u ? of the Poisson equation in a domain ?-periodically perforated along manifold γ = ω ∩ {x 1 = 0} ≠ Ø with a nonlinear third type boundary condition ? v u ? + ?σ(x, u ?) = 0 on the boundary of the cavities. It is supposed that the perforations are balls of radius C 0?α, C 0 > 0, α = n ? 1 / n ? 2, n ≥ 3, periodically distributed along the manifold γ with period ? > 0. It has been shown that as ? → 0 the microscopic solutions can be approximated by the solution of an effective problem which contains in a transmission conditions a new nonlinear term representing the macroscopic contribution of the processes on the boundary of the microscopic cavities. This effect was first noticed in [1] where the similar problem was investigated for n = 3 and for the case where Ω is a domain periodically perforated over the whole volume. This paper provides a new method for the proof of the convergence of the solutions {u ?} to the solution of the effective problem is given. Furthermore, an improved approximation for the gradient of the microscopic solutions is constructed, and more accurate results are obtained with respect to the energy norm proved via a corrector term. Note that this approach can be generalized to achieve results for perforations of more complex geometry.  相似文献

We find the general form of solutions of the integral equation ∫k(t ? s)u1(s) ds = u2(t) of the convolution type for the pair of unknown functions u1 and u2 in the class of compactly supported continuously differentiable functions under the condition that the kernel k(t) has the Fourier transform \(\widetilde {{P_2}}\), where \(\widetilde {{P_1}}\) and \(\widetilde {{P_2}}\) are polynomials in the exponential eiτx, τ > 0, with coefficients polynomial in x. If the functions \({P_l}\left( x \right) = \widetilde {{P_l}}\left( {{e^{i\tau x}}} \right)\), l = 1, 2, have no common zeros, then the general solution in Fourier transforms has the form Ul(x) = Pl(x)R(x), l = 1, 2, where R(x) is the Fourier transform of an arbitrary compactly supported continuously differentiable function r(t).  相似文献

We investigate the nonlinear third-order differential equation (uxx ? u)t + u xxx + uux = 0 describing the processes in semiconductors with a strong spatial dispersion. We study the problem of the existence of global solutions and obtain sufficient conditions for the absence of global solutions for some initial boundary value problems corresponding to this equation. We consider examples of solution blowup for initial boundary value and Cauchy problems. We use the Mitidieri-Pokhozhaev nonlinear capacity method.  相似文献
