Observation of Upsilon(4S) decays to pi(+)pi(-)C and pi(+)pi(-)Upsilon(2S)We present the first measurement of Upsilon(4S) decays to pi(+)pi(-)Upsilon(1S) based on a sample of 230 x 106(4S) mesons collected with the BABAR detector. We measure the product branching fractions Beta(Upsilon(4S) --> pi(+)pi(-)Upsilon(1S)) x BetaUpsilon(1S) --> mu(+)mu(-) = (2.23 +/- 0.25(stat) +/- 0.27(syst))x 10(-6) and Beta(Upsilon(4S) --> pi(+)pi(-)Upsilon(2S) x Beta(Upsilon(2S) --> mu(+)mu(-))=(1.69 +/-0.26(stat) +/- 0.20(syst)) x 10(-)6, from which we derive the partial widths Gamma(Upsilon(4S) --> pi(+)pi(-)Upsilon(1S))=(1.8 +/-0.4) keV and Gamma(Upsilon(4S) --> pi(+)pi(-)Upsilon(2S))=(2.7 +/- 0.8) keV. 相似文献

We report the first observation of e;{+}e;{-}-->Upsilon(1S)pi;{+}pi;{-}, Upsilon(2S)pi;{+}pi;{-}, and first evidence for e;{+}e;{-}-->Upsilon(3S)pi;{+}pi;{-}, Upsilon(1S)K+K-, near the peak of the Upsilon(5S) resonance at sqrt[s] approximately 10.87 GeV. The results are based on a data sample of 21.7 fb;{-1} collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e;{+}e;{-} collider. Attributing the signals to the Upsilon(5S) resonance, the partial widths Gamma(Upsilon(5S)-->Upsilon(1S)pi;{+}pi;{-})=0.59+/-0.04(stat)+/-0.09(syst) MeV and Gamma(Upsilon(5S)-->Upsilon(2S)pi;{+}pi;{-})=0.85+/-0.07(stat)+/-0.16(syst) MeV are obtained from the observed cross sections. These values exceed by more than 2 orders of magnitude the previously measured partial widths for dipion transitions between lower Upsilon resonances. 相似文献

The depolarized component of Paman scattering by pure liquid HCl and DCl and of solutions of these acid halides in liquid CO2 are reported. At room temperature the band contours show no S branch intensity in pure acid halide liquid, but in solution in liquid CO2 and S branch is increasingly evident with increasing CO2 concentration. The frequency shifts are a function of the dielectric constant and refractive index of the solution. Reorientational correlation functions calculated from the anisotropic scattering decay more slowly in the first few tens of femtoseconds than predicted for monomeric acid halides, suggesting contribution to the composite correlation function by species of larger moments of inertia but vibrational frequencies identical with those of the monomers. 相似文献

We report observations of CP violation in the decays B(0) --> K(+)pi(-) and B(0) --> pi(+)pi(-) in a sample of 383 x 10(6) Upsilon(4S) --> BB[over] events. We find 4372+/-82 B(0) --> K(+)pi(-) decays and measure the direct CP-violating charge asymmetry A(Kpi) = -0.107+/-0.018(stat)(-0.004)(+0.007)(syst), which excludes the CP-conserving hypothesis with a significance of 5.5 standard deviations. In the same sample, we find 1139+/-49 B(0) --> pi(+)pi(-) decays and measure the CP-violating asymmetries S(pipi) = -0.60+/-0.11(stat)+/-0.03(syst) and C(pipi) = -0.21+/-0.09(stat)+/-0.02(syst). CP conservation in B(0) --> pi(+)pi(-) (S(pipi) = C(pipi) = 0) is excluded at a confidence level 1-C.L. = 8 x 10(-8), corresponding to 5.4 standard deviations. 相似文献

We report on a search for charmless hadronic B decays to the three-body final states K(0)(S)h(+)pi(-), K(+)h(-)pi(0), K(0)(S)h(+)pi(0) (h(+/-) denotes a charged pion or kaon), and their charge conjugates, using 13.5 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity produced near sqrt[s]=10.6 GeV, and collected with the CLEO detector. We observe the decay B-->K0pi(+)pi(-) with a branching fraction (50(+10)(-9)(stat.)+/-7(syst.))x10(-6) and the decay B-->K(*+)(892)pi(-) with a branching fraction (16(+6)(-5)(stat.)+/-2(syst.))x10(-6). 相似文献

We report the first observation of a manifestly CP violating effect in the K(L)-->pi(+)pi(-)e(+)e(-) decay mode. A large asymmetry was observed in the distribution of these decays in the CP-odd and T-odd angle straight phi between the decay planes of the e(+)e(-) and pi(+)pi(-) pairs in the K(L) center of mass system. After acceptance corrections, the overall asymmetry is found to be [13.6+/-2. 5(stat)+/-1.2(syst)]%. This is the largest CP-violating effect yet observed when integrating over the entire phase space of a mode and the first such effect observed in an angular variable. 相似文献

Using 13.7 fb(-1) of data recorded by the CLEO detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we investigate the spectrum of charmed baryons which decay into Lambda+(c)pi(-)pi(+) and are more massive than the Lambda+(c)(2625) baryon. We find evidence for two new states: one is broad and has an invariant mass roughly 480 MeV above that of the Lambda+(c) baryon; the other is narrow with an invariant mass of 596+/-1+/-2 MeV above the Lambda+(c) mass. 相似文献

All literature vibration-rotational and pure rotational transition energies for the ground X(1)Sigma(+) electronic state of H(35)Cl, H(37)Cl, D(35)Cl, and D(37)Cl, along with the entire collection of electronic B(1)Sigma(+) --> X(1)Sigma(+) emission data for the four isotopomers, have been used in a least-squares fit of compact analytic Born-Oppenheimer potential functions for the B(1)Sigma(+) and X(1)Sigma(+) electronic states. Additional functions related to the adiabatic and nonadiabatic corrections have also been determined. Separate least-squares fits were made according to the hamiltonian operators of J. K. G. Watson (J. Mol. Spectrosc. 80, 411 (1980)) and R. M. Herman and J. F. Ogilvie (Adv. Chem. Phys. 103, 187 (1998)). The results from the separate analyses demonstrate clearly that the two hamiltonian operators are essentially equivalent, both achieving equally satisfactory representations of the spectral data, and furnishing virtually identical Born-Oppenheimer potential functions. Fully quantum-mechanical vibrational eigenvalues and rotational perturbation series parameters B(v)-O(v) are presented for the lower levels of the X(1)Sigma(+) ground state for which infrared and/or microwave data are available (v" = 7 for H(35)Cl and H(37)Cl, v" = 10 for D(35)Cl and D(37)Cl). These parameters collectively reproduce the corresponding spectroscopic line positions included in our fit to within the uncertainties of the measurements. Copyright 2000 Academic Press. 相似文献

We have studied charmless hadronic decays of B mesons into two-body final states with kaons and pions and observe three new processes with the following branching fractions: beta(B-->pi(+)pi(-)) = (4.3(+1. 6)(-1.4)+/-0.5)x10(-6), beta(B-->K(0)pi(0)) = (14.6(+5.9+2.4)(-5.1-3. 3))x10(-6), and beta(B-->K(+)/-pi(0)) = (11.6(+3.0+1.4)(-2.7-1.3))x10(-6). We also update our previous measurements for the decays B-->K(+)/-pi(-/+) and B+/--->K(0)pi(+/-). 相似文献

High resolution (3 + 1) and (2 + 1)REMPI spectra of HCl and DCl for total current detection at room temperature or TOF mass detection after jet cooling were recorded for the spectral region 89 000-89 600 cm−1. Analysis of the (3 + 1)REMPI spectra by use of three-photon absorption modeling allowed, for the first time, identification and characterization of the l (3Φ3) states. Consistent anomalies in spectral structures due to transitions to the j (3Σ−) (0+) state are interpreted as being due to interactions with the V (1Σ+) ion-pair states. Interaction strengths are evaluated. Simulation analyses and determination of isotope shifts allowed evaluation of vibrational and rotational spectroscopic parameters for the l (3Φ3) and the j (3Σ−) (0+) states for both molecules. 相似文献

We report the first observation of the charmless hyperonic B decay, B0-->pLambda(pi)(-), using a 78 fb(-1) data sample recorded on the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at KEKB. The measured branching fraction is B(B0-->pLambda(pi)(-))=(3.97(+1.00)(-0.80)+/-0.56)x10(-6). Searches for B0-->pLambda(K)- and pSigma(0)pi(-) yield no significant signals and we set 90% confidence-level upper limits of B(B0-->pLambda(K)-)<8.2x10(-7) and B(B0-->pSigma(0)pi(-))<3.8x10(-6). 相似文献

The predissociation of the 1(3)Sigma(-)(g) v >/= 10 levels of (7)Li(2) has been observed by pulsed and continuous-wave perturbation-facilitated optical-optical double-resonance spectroscopy (PFOODR). Our ab initio calculation shows that the inner wall of the 1(3)Sigma(-)(g) potential intersects the 1(3)Pi(g) repulsive potential at internuclear distance R = 2.00 ?. The predissociation is due to a DeltaS = 0, DeltaLambda = +/-1 rotational-electronic interaction with the repulsive 1(3)Pi(g) state. Copyright 2001 Academic Press. 相似文献

High-resolution spectra of the (3)(1)Pi --> (2)(3)Sigma(+) system of the KRb molecule, obtained after excitation with fixed frequencies Ar(+) laser lines, were recorded on a Connes-type Fourier transform interferometer. Molecular constants of the first 14 vibrational levels of the (2)(3)Sigma(+) state are determined. The RKR potential energy curve is derived. The main spectroscopic constants for this triplet electronic state of the (39)K (85)Rb isotopic species are T(e) = 13 507.146(2) cm(-1), omega(e) = 48.6385(6) cm(-1), B(e) = 0.0254152(5) cm(-1), gamma = 0.00164(4) cm(-1), epsilon = -0.469(2) cm(-1), R(e) = 4.98345 ?, 𝒟(e) = 3447 cm(-1). High-resolution laser excitation spectra have been obtained for the 0-0, 1-1, and 0-1 bands of the B(2)Sigma(+)-X(2)Sigma(+) transition of YbCl and a rotational analysis has been performed on the (174)Yb(35)Cl and (172)Yb(35)Cl isotopomers. Comparison of the spin-rotation constant, gamma, for the B(2)Sigma(+) state with the lambda-doubling constant of the A(2)Pi(1/2) state (1) shows that the two excited states form a unique perturber pair arising from the 6psigma and 6ppi orbitals centered on the Yb(+) ion. The principal results for the B(2)Sigma(+) state are B(e)=0.097552(5) cm(-1), R(e)=2.43623(6) ?, gamma(e)=-2.1655(6)x10(-4) cm(-1), and DeltaG(1/2)=313.111(2) cm(-1). We report the first observation of two charmed strange baryons that decay into Lambda(c)(+)Kappa(-)pi(+). The broader of the two states is measured to have a mass of 2978.5+/-2.1+/-2.0 MeV/c2 and a width of 43.5+/-7.5+/-7.0 MeV/c2. The mass and width of the narrow state are measured to be 3076.7+/-0.9+/-0.5 MeV/c;{2} and 6.2+/-1.2+/-0.8 MeV/c2, respectively. We also perform a search for the isospin partner states that decay into Lambda(c)(+)Kappa(0)/(s)pi(-) and observe a significant signal at the mass of 3082.8+/-1.8+/-1.5 MeV/c2. The data used for this analysis were accumulated at or near the Upsilon(4S) resonance, using the Belle detector at the e+ e- asymmetric-energy collider KEKB. The integrated luminosity of the data sample used is 461.5 fb(-1). 相似文献

Using data collected with the HyperCP (E871) spectrometer during the 1997 fixed-target run at Fermilab, we report the first observation of the decay K--->pi(-)mu(+)mu(-) and new measurements of the branching ratios for K+/--->pi(+/-)mu(+)mu(-). By combining the branching ratios for the decays K+-->pi(+)mu(+)mu(-) and K--->pi(-)mu(+)mu(-), we measure Gamma(K+/--->pi(+/-)mu(+)mu(-))/Gamma(K+/--->all) = (9.8+/-1.0+/-0.5)x10(-8). The CP asymmetry between the rates of the two decay modes is [Gamma(K+-->pi(+)mu(+)mu(-))-Gamma(K--->pi(-)mu(+)mu(-))]/[Gamma(K+-->pi(+)mu(+)mu(-))+Gamma(K--->pi(-)mu(+)mu(-))] = -0.02+/-0.11+/-0.04. 相似文献

We observe signals for the decays psi(3770) --> XJ/psi from data acquired with the CLEO detector operating at the CESR e+ e- collider with square root of s = 3773 MeV. We measure the following branching fractions Beta(psi(3770) --> XJ/psi and significances: (189 +/- 20 +/- 20) x 10(-5) (11.6sigma) for X = pi+ pi-, (80 +/- 25 +/- 16) x 10(-5) (3.4sigma) for X = pi0 pi0, and (87 +/- 33 +/- 22) x 10(-5) (3.5sigma) for X = eta, where the errors are statistical and systematic, respectively. The radiative return process e+ e- --> gamma psi(2S) populates the same event sample and is used to measure Gamma ee[psi(2S)] = (2.54 +/- 0.03 +/- 0.11) keV. 相似文献
