采用两段级联单模光纤对高阶孤子脉冲进行压缩。两段光纤具有不同的反常色散值,当高阶孤子脉冲在第一段光纤中获得最大程度压缩时,通过转换色散值不同的光纤,使压缩脉冲继续以高阶孤子的形式在第二段光纤中再次被压缩。每段光纤的长度都进行了优化,使得脉冲在每段光纤中都获得最大程度的压缩。基于非线性薛定谔方程,数值研究了初始啁啾对高阶孤子脉冲压缩的影响。研究结果表明,初始啁啾对高阶孤子脉冲的压缩有重要影响。与无初始啁啾时的情形相比,正的初始啁啾能增强每段光纤中脉冲的压缩效果,降低压缩脉冲的基座能量,而负初始啁啾的影响则相反。随着初始啁啾参量Cp的增大,脉冲在每段光纤中的压缩因子均增加,而基座能量、最优光纤长度均减小。  相似文献

<正>In this paper,a set of detailed numerical simulations of pulsating solitons in certain regions,where the pulsating solitons exist,have been carried out.The results show that the transformation between pulsating soliton and fronts can be realized through a series of period-doubling bifurcations,while there exist many kinds of special solutions.The complete transformation diagram has been obtained when the value of nonlinear gain varies within a definite range.The detailed analysis of the diagram reveals that the pulsating soliton experiences period-doubling bifurcations for smaller values of the nonlinear gain.For larger values of it,the pulsating solitons show chaotic behaviour and complex pulse splitting except for some special bifurcations.With the value of nonlinear gain increasing further,the pulse profiles resume pulsating,but the pulse energy is much higher than before and the pulse centre may move along the propagation direction.  相似文献

We demonstrate a self-starting, passively mode-locked short-cavity Cr(4+):YAG laser that supports fundamental intracavity solitons over wide ranges of cavity group-velocity dispersion and pulse energies. The total dispersion and nonlinear effects are small enough that stable, N=1 soliton pulses are generated. Equally spaced multiple pulsing is also observed, with fundamental soliton behavior preserved. Regions of bistability exist where, at a constant cavity dispersion, the laser can produce transform-limited pulses of a different width and energy. The laser produces 200-fs pulses at approximately 0.9-, 1.8-, and 2.7-GHz repetition rates with a total of 82 mW of average output power.  相似文献

Optical solitons and quasisolitons are investigated in reference to Cherenkov radiation. It is shown that both solitons and quasisolitons can exist, if the linear operator specifying their asymptotic behavior at infinity is sign-definite. In particular, the application of this criterion to stationary optical solitons shifts the soliton carrier frequency at which the first derivative of the dielectric constant with respect to the frequency vanishes. At that point the phase and group velocities coincide. Solitons and quasisolitons are absent, if the third-order dispersion is taken into account. The stability of a soliton is proved for fourth order dispersion using the sign-definiteness of the operator and integral estimates of the Sobolev type. 基于包含自发拉曼散射和外电光调制效应的非自治非线性薛定谔方程,采用简单的变换方法,解析研究了三种非均匀系统中非自治孤子的管理和传输。结果发现,在非均匀的非线性渐增或色散渐减光纤系统中都存在精确的啁啾非自治孤子解,都可以实现孤子的放大和压缩,但具有不同的速度、频移和啁啾特性;而在非均匀的色散和非线性均渐减光纤系统中,可以支持无啁啾的非自治孤子,该孤子具有不变的脉宽和振幅以及振荡衰减的速度,孤子的频移仅由自发拉曼散射决定。同时,数值模拟结果进一步证实在三种非均匀管理系统中都可支持非自治孤子的传输。该研究结果为实际非均匀孤子管理系统中实现孤子的压缩和传输提供了理论依据。  相似文献

Optical gap solitons, which exist due to a balance of nonlinearity and dispersion due to a Bragg grating, can couple to acoustic waves through electrostriction. This gives rise to a new species of "gap-acoustic" solitons (GASs), for which we find exact analytic solutions. The GAS consists of an optical pulse similar to the optical gap soliton, dressed by an accompanying phonon pulse. Close to the speed of sound, the phonon component is large. In subsonic (supersonic) solitons, the phonon pulse is a positive (negative) density variation. Coupling to the acoustic field damps the solitons' oscillatory instability, and gives rise to a distinct instability for supersonic solitons, which may make the GAS decelerate and change direction, ultimately making the soliton subsonic.  相似文献

Modulational instability (MI) is employed in a self-induced ring cavity configuration based on highly nonlinear dispersion-shifted fiber (HNL DSF) and an erbium-doped fiber amplifier to generate a continuous-wave 262-GHz train of 365-fs optical solitons. The laser operates around 1540 nm, with an average output power of 15 mW. MI is achieved at a low threshold as a result of low average cavity dispersion and high fiber nonlinearity. It is shown that, because of the normal dispersion of the HNL DSF, the solitons exist in the average soliton regime.  相似文献

In this paper, we theoretically discuss the soliton properties of light pulse transportation on the surface of an ionic crystal having strong nonlinear interactions between ions of unit cells. We analyze in detail the dark solitons when the nonlinear coefficient g is positive and negative, respectively. It is found that whether the nonlinear coefficient g is positive or negative, the dark solitons can be formed over the whole dispersion relation area of surface polaritons considering nonlinear effects. Attention should be paid to the fact that around ωTO, the light pulse can form advanced dark solitons, and there is a switching area from advanced dark soliton to retarded dark soliton near ωTO. We also discuss the effects of higher nonlinear dispersion on the solitons.  相似文献

数值模拟了在喇曼散射效应影响下,波长位于反常色散区的高阶孤子泵浦脉冲与波长在正常色散区的信号脉冲通过交叉相位调制作用产生的压缩脉冲对.结果表明,由于受喇曼效应的影响,飞秒信号脉冲产生的脉冲对不再保持对称,滞后的蓝移脉冲峰值功率随传输距离的增加而减小,产生孤子红移.同时发现喇曼系数增大,超前红移脉冲峰值功率增加,滞后蓝移脉冲峰值功率降低.分析了孤子阶数和正、负走离效应对脉冲压缩对变化规律的影响.  相似文献

It has been shown that the principally new-type solitons and bisolitons are generated during the pulse impact of ultrasound and hypersound on crystal monatomic materials in addition to the known solitons. New-type bisolitons analogous to the bisolitons previously found by an analytical approach have been discovered with the use of the molecular dynamics method. It has been shown that the dispersion curve of these bisolitons is close to the dispersion curve of the conventional solitons. A subsonic compression soliton, the dispersion curve of which crosses the phonon dispersion curve, has been found along with the known supersonic compression soliton. The characteristics of the new-type solitons and bisolitons in uranium and plutonium crystal lattices are presented.  相似文献

We report on the experimental observation and numerical simulations of period-doubling of gain-guided solitons in an erbium-doped fiber laser operating in the large net normal cavity dispersion regime. Features of the solitons before and after the period-doubling bifurcation are studied. Our results suggest again that period-doubling is an intrinsic feature of the mode-locked soliton lasers, which is independent of the mode-locked pulse property.  相似文献

We examine the properties of dispersion-managed (DM) solitons in fiber lines with dispersion-compensation period L much shorter than amplification distance Z(a) . DM solitons in systems with short-scale dispersion compensation have reduced power compared with DM solitons in previously studied regimes with L>/=Z(a) power (for the same local and average dispersion and the same pulse width). As a result, chirped DM soliton transmission with reasonably low power can be realized with shorter pulses when DM solitons in systems with large L/Z(a) ratios have energies that are too high to be used in practice.  相似文献

We introduce the concept of “breathing” solitons to describe the dynamics of optical pulses in transmission lines with passive compensation of fiber chromatic dispersion. The “breathing” pulse can be used as the information carrier. The theory presented is complimentary to the concept of the guiding-center soliton. The modified quantum nonlinear Schrodinger equation of ultra-short pulse propagating in fiber is derived using dispersion relation and the Hamiltonian of the transmission system. The derived equation is solved with linearization approximation, and modulation instability is analyzed. The equation is also solved with Hartree approximation. The results indicate that pulse power, loss and self-steeping effect change the critical frequency, the maximum gain and the gain spectrum range, but the third order dispersion has no effect on modulation instability. The expectation value of optical field is average of a set of modified classical solitons, and higher order terms change the amplitude, pulse position and phase of soliton.  相似文献

The dynamics of short (of the order of a few wave periods) intense optical pulses and interaction of short optical solitons in fibers are considered within the framework of the third-order nonlinear Schrodinger equation. It is shown that an initial pulse tends to one or a few short solitons plus a linear quasiperiodic wave when the third-order linear dispersion and nonlinear dispersion have parameters of the same sign. The number and parameters of the solitons depend on the magnitudes of initial pulse parameters. Interaction of short optical solitons having different amplitudes is accompanied by radiation of part of the wave field from the area of interaction, by an increase of the soliton with larger amplitude, and a decrease of the soliton with a smaller one. 利用二次谐波频率分辨光学门脉冲分析仪从实验上分析研究了具有啁啾的10 GHz光脉冲在不同输入功率下演化形成孤子的规律和特点。实验发现:输入脉冲在光纤中传输3.5个色散长度时,其时间宽度、频率啁啾和时间带宽积都随着输入功率的增加而减小。当输入功率大于一阶孤子功率的理论值时,光脉冲能够演化形成孤子;脉冲在随后传输过程中其宽度基本保持不变,波形、频率啁啾和时间带宽积仍随着传输距离的变化而变化;输入功率越高,形成的一阶孤子脉冲的宽度越窄。当输入功率小于一阶孤子功率的理论值时,输出脉冲的时间宽度随着传输距离的增加而增加,频率啁啾随着传输距离的增加而减小,光脉冲不能演化形成孤子。  相似文献
