We consider modules that appear as syzygies of acyclic complexes of flat modules and examine a certain condition on pairs of such modules, that generalizes the vanishing of Tate homology. If this condition is satisfied for two modules over a commutative ring, then (a) the tensor product of the two modules is also a syzygy of an acyclic complex of flat modules and (b) the tensor product of the corresponding acyclic complexes of flat modules is an acyclic complex of flat modules as well, whose syzygies can be expressed in terms of the syzygies of the factor complexes. We also examine the analogous (dual) case of homomorphism groups of infinite syzygies.  相似文献

We study the asymptotic behavior of the syzygies of a smooth projective variety as the positivity of the embedding line bundle grows. The main result asserts that the syzygy modules are non-zero in almost all degrees allowed by Castelnuovo?CMumford regularity. We also give an effective statement for Veronese varieties that we conjecture to be optimal.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a new algorithm for computing a set of generators for the syzygies on a sequence of polynomials. For this, we extend a given sequence of polynomials to a Gr?bner basis using Faugère??s F5 algorithm (A new efficient algorithm for computing Gr?bner bases without reduction to zero (F 5). ISSAC, ACM Press, pp 75?C83, 2002). We show then that if we keep all the reductions to zero during this computation, then at termination (by adding principal syzygies) we obtain a basis for the module of syzygies on the input polynomials. We have implemented our algorithm in the computer algebra system Magma, and we evaluate its performance via some examples.  相似文献

We introduce a notion of disjointness for finitely many hypercyclic operators acting on a common space, notion that is weaker than Furstenberg's disjointness of fluid flows. We provide a criterion to construct disjoint hypercyclic operators, that generalizes some well-known connections between the Hypercyclicity Criterion, hereditary hypercyclicity and topological mixing to the setting of disjointness in hypercyclicity. We provide examples of disjoint hypercyclic operators for powers of weighted shifts on a Hilbert space and for differentiation operators on the space of entire functions on the complex plane.  相似文献

In 2002, Faugère presented the famous F5 algorithm for computing Gröbner basis where two criteria, syzygy criterion and rewritten criterion, were proposed to avoid redundant computations. He proved the correctness of the syzygy criterion, but the proof for the correctness of the rewritten criterion was left. Since then, F5 has been studied extensively. Some proofs for the correctness of F5 were proposed, but these proofs are valid only under some extra assumptions. In this paper, we give a proof for the correctness of F5B, an equivalent version of F5 in Buchberger’s style. The proof is valid for both homogeneous and non-homogeneous polynomial systems. Since this proof does not depend on the computing order of the S-pairs, any strategy of selecting S-pairs could be used in F5B or F5. Furthermore, we propose a natural and non-incremental variant of F5 where two revised criteria can be used to remove almost all redundant S-pairs.  相似文献

Let Γ=〈α,β〉 be a numerical semigroup. In this article we consider several relations between the so-called Γ-semimodules and lattice paths from (0,α) to (β,0): we investigate isomorphism classes of Γ-semimodules as well as certain subsets of the set of gaps of Γ, and finally syzygies of Γ-semimodules. In particular we compute the number of Γ-semimodules which are isomorphic with their k-th syzygy for some k.  相似文献

We study (slope-)stability properties of syzygy bundles on a projective space PN given by ideal generators of a homogeneous primary ideal. In particular we give a combinatorial criterion for a monomial ideal to have a semistable syzygy bundle. Restriction theorems for semistable bundles yield the same stability results on the generic complete intersection curve. From this we deduce a numerical formula for the tight closure of an ideal generated by monomials or by generic homogeneous elements in a generic two-dimensional complete intersection ring.  相似文献

We provide a criterion giving a formula for the directional (or contingent) subdifferential of the difference of two convex functions. We even extend it to the difference of two approximately starshaped functions. In this paper we give an algorithm to compute an upper bound for the arithmetical rank of squarefree monomial ideals, i.e. the minimal number of hypersurfaces which cut out set-theoretically the variety of such an ideal. An apriori bound N – a=b+2 is obtained, where N means the number of variables, a the lowest degree in the ideal and b the lowest degree of syzygies in the first syzygy module (Thm. 2). These results sharpen more general results of [2] for the considered class of ideals by methods different from [1], [7].  相似文献

We generalize the notions of hypercyclic operators, \(\mathfrak {U}\)-frequently hypercyclic operators and frequently hypercyclic operators by introducing a new concept in linear dynamics, namely \(\mathcal {A}\)-hypercyclicity. We then state an \(\mathcal {A}\)-hypercyclicity criterion, inspired by the hypercyclicity criterion and the frequent hypercyclicity criterion, and we show that this criterion characterizes the \(\mathcal {A}\)-hypercyclicity for weighted shifts. We also investigate which density properties can the sets \({N(x, U)=\{n\in \mathbb {N}\ ; \ T^nx\in U\}}\) have for a given hypercyclic operator, and we study the new notion of reiteratively hypercyclic operators.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the algebraic analysis of the system of differential equations described by the Hermitian Dirac operators, which are two linear first order operators invariant with respect to the action of the unitary group. In the one variable case, we show that it is possible to give explicit formulae for all the maps of the resolution associated to the system. Moreover, we compute the minimal generators for the first syzygies also in the case of the Hermitian system in several vector variables. Finally, we study the removability of compact singularities. We also show a major difference with the orthogonal case: in the odd dimensional case it is possible to perform a reduction of the system which does not affect the behavior of the free resolution, while this is not always true for the case of even dimension. Let I be a monomial ideal in the polynomial ring S generated by elements of degree at most d. In this paper, it is shown that, if the i-th syzygy of I has no elements of degrees j,…,j+(d?1) (where ji+d), then (i+1)-th syzygy of I does not have any element of degree j+d. Then we give several applications of this result, including an alternative proof for Green–Lazarsfeld index of the edge ideals of graphs as well as an alternative proof for Fröberg’s theorem on classification of square-free monomial ideals generated in degree 2 with linear resolution. Among all, we deduce a partial result on subadditivity of the syzygies for monomial ideals.  相似文献

In this paper, we weaken the conditions for the existence of adjoint closure operators, going beyond the standard requirement of additivity/co-additivity. We consider the notion of join-uniform (lower) closure operators, introduced in computer science, in order to model perfect lossless compression in transformations acting on complete lattices. Starting from Janowitz’s characterization of residuated closure operators, we show that join-uniformity perfectly weakens additivity in the construction of adjoint closures, and this is indeed the weakest property for this to hold. We conclude by characterizing the set of all join-uniform lower closure operators as fix-points of a function defined on the set of all lower closures of a complete lattice.  相似文献

We consider the problem on the convergence of biorthogonal expansions in a system of eigenfunctions and associated functions for a wide class of operators, whose special cases include nonself-adjoint differential operators. We introduce the notion of almost basis property of systems of root functions of a linear operator. We provide a criterion for the existence of a residual set of common hypercyclic vectors for an uncountable family of hypercyclic operators which is based on a previous one given by Costakis and Sambarino. As an application, we get common hypercyclic vectors for a particular family of hypercyclic scalar multiples of the adjoint of a multiplier in the Hardy space, generalizing recent results by Abakumov and Gordon and also Bayart. The criterion is applied to other specific families of operators.

A topology is defined on the set of closed operators between two Banach spaces. We show that the set of Lipschitzcontinuous operators is open in this topology; the relative topology on this subset is the natural one. The notion of spectrum is defined for nonlinear maps, and we prove among others the following facts: the resolvent set is open and depends upper semi-continuously on the operator; for Lipschitzcontinuous operators, the spectrum is compact; the resolvent map is continuous. Then we examine more closely the cases of Fréchet-differentiable maps and of isolated points in the spectrum.  相似文献
