Two types of new ternary carbides, Zr2Al4C5 and Zr3Al4C6, have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction. The crystal structures were refined from laboratory X-ray powder diffraction data (CuKα1) using the Rietveld method. These carbides form a homologous series with the general formula (ZrC)mAl4C3 (m=2 and 3). The crystal structures can be regarded as intergrowth structures where the Al4C3-type [Al4C4] layers are the same, while the NaCl-type [ZrmCm+1] layers increase in thickness with increasing m value. The new carbides are most probably the end members of continuous solid-solutions (ZrC)m[Al4−xSix]C3 with 0?x?0.44.  相似文献

Novel mixed potassium antimonates K0.59Mg0.53Sb0.47O2, K0.5Ni0.5Sb0.5O2, K0.5Co0.5Sb0.5O2 (rhombohedral P3-type structure), K0.56Ni0.52Sb0.48O2 and K0.86Co0.62Sb0.38O2 (hexagonal P2 type) have layered structures based on brucite-like (L,Sb)O6/3 sheets of edge-shared octahedra and interlayer K+ cations in trigonal prismatic coordination. The preference to form P2 and P3 structures rather than closely related O3 type is dictated by the large radius of K+ and the value of unit cell parameter a, restricted by average size of the cations randomly distributed in the octahedral sites within (L,Sb)O6/3 layer. The new phases reversibly absorb atmospheric moisture leading to the formation of hydrates with ca. 11% larger interlayer distances. The impedance spectroscopy of P2-type K0.56Ni0.52Sb0.48O2 and P3-type K0.59Mg0.53Sb0.47O2 ceramics shows relatively high ionic conductivity, presumably due to potassium cationic transport, with activation energies of 35±2 and 33±1 kJ/mol, respectively. At 573 K, the conductivity values are 0.016 S/cm for K0.56Ni0.52Sb0.48O2 and 0.021 S/cm for K0.59Mg0.53Sb0.47O2. Interaction with water vapor leads to increasing total conductivity.  相似文献

Oxy-silicate and oxy-germanate, Ln2(TO4)O (Ln=La and Nd, T=Ge and Si) compounds have been prepared. Oxy-germanates can be readily obtained as highly crystalline single phases, while, the oxy-silicates are difficult to prepare as pure phases. The crystal structure of Nd2(SiO4)O has been studied from a joint Rietveld refinement of neutron and laboratory X-ray powder diffraction data. The electrochemical characterisation indicates that these compounds display oxide anion conductivity with p-type electronic contribution under oxidising conditions. The apparent activation energies under dry flowing nitrogen, where p-type contribution is minimised, are 0.97(1), 1.05(3) and 1.17(4) eV, for Nd2(SiO4)O, La2(GeO4)O and Nd2(GeO4)O, respectively. The overall conductivities at 1173 K range from 1.2×10−4 S cm−1 for Nd2(SiO4)O to 1.3×10−6 S cm−1 for La2(GeO4)O. Finally, the stability of these compounds under very reducing conditions has been studied and partial degradation is reported.  相似文献

The three isostructural transition metal diphosphonates M2(O3PCH2C6H4CH2PO3)·2H2O (M=Mn, Ni, Cd) were hydrothermally synthesized using p-xylenediphosphonic acid and the corresponding metal salts. The structures were refined in the orthorhombic space group Pca21 from X-ray powder diffraction data: Mn2(O3PCH2C6H4CH2PO3)·2H2O (1): a=983.71(7), b=582.72(4), c=2173.5(2) pm, V=1245.8(1) 106 pm, Z=4, wRp=0.079, Rp=0.062, RF=0.081; Ni2(O3PCH2C6H4CH2PO3)·2H2O (2): a=951.18(3), b=562.31(2), c=2178.47(6) pm, V=1165.2(1) 106 pm, Z=4, wRp=0.072, Rp=0.054, RF= 0.095; Cd2(O3PCH2C6H4CH2PO3)·2H2O (3): a=1005.19(3), b=594.37(2), c=2186.08(8), V=1304.3(1) 106 pm, Z=4, wRp=0.067, Rp=0.052, RF=0.059. The structures are built up from corner-linked [MO6] polyhedra (M=Mn, Ni, Cd) forming inorganic metal oxide layers. These layers are linked by the organic diphosphonic acids acting as pillars. Magnetization measurements of 1 confirm the presence of divalent ions and indicate antiferromagnetic ordering at low temperatures. Thermogravimetric as well as IR spectroscopic studies are also presented.  相似文献

The reactions of HgE (E=S, Se) with HgX2 and MX4 (M=Zr, Hf; X=Cl, Br) in evacuated glass ampoules lead to a series of isotypic compounds of the general formula Hg3E2[MX6] in the form of colorless (X=Cl) and light-yellow (X=Br) air-sensitive crystals. The crystal structures of Hg3S2[ZrCl6] (I), Hg3S2[HfCl6] (II), Hg3Se2[ZrCl6] (III), Hg3Se2[HfCl6] (IV), Hg3S2[ZrBr6] (V), and Hg3Se2[ZrBr6] (VI) were refined based on single-crystal data. All compounds crystallize in the monoclinic space group P21/a with the lattice parameters a=662.18(2) pm, b=734.97(3) pm, c=1290.83(5) pm, β=91.755(2)° for (I) and and a=701.97(3) pm, b=756.79(3) pm, c=1350.99(6) pm, β=92.164(3)° for (VI). The structures are built of (Hg3E2)2+ layers stacked perpendicular to the c-axis. The polycationic layers consist of two-dimensionally linked 12-membered Hg6E6 rings in the chair conformation with linear coordinated Hg and trigonal pyramidal coordinated chalcogen atoms. Almost regular octahedral [MX6]2− ions are embedded between the layers. This arrangement is closely related to the structure of Hg3S2[SiF6], which represents a higher symmetric congener. The structure relation is discussed using the supergroup-subgroup relation between space groups.  相似文献

The crystal structure and photoluminescent properties of europium doped silicate Sr2Y8(SiO4)6O2:Eu3+ are reported. The Sr2Y8−xEux(SiO4)6O2 compounds have typical apatite crystal structures with the P63/m space group. The distributions of Eu3+ between the two crystallographic sites 4f and 6h in the apatite structure are investigated by the powder X-ray diffraction and Rietveld refinement. Results show that Eu3+ ions only occupy the 4f sites when the Eu doping concentration is low (x=0-0.5 in Sr2Y8−xEux(SiO4)6O2). However, in higher concentrations, Eu3+ ions begin to enter the 6h sites as well. The distributions of the Eu3+ are also reflected in photoluminescent spectra. The CIE coordinates for Sr2Y6Eu2(SiO4)6O2 are (0.63, 0.37), which is close to the pure red color.  相似文献

The perovskite-type oxides Ba1−xLax(1−y)/2Euxy/2Nax/2TiO3 (0?x?0.5 and xy=0.04) were synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction as well as dielectric measurements and Raman spectroscopy. The crystal structure of these ceramics has been determined by the Rietveld refinement powder X-ray diffraction data at room temperature. These compounds crystallize at room temperature in tetragonal space group P4mm for 0?x?0.1 and in the cubic group for 0.2?x?0.5. The phase transition temperature TC (or Tm) decreases as x content increases. The degree of diffuseness of the phase transition is more pronounced for higher x content, implying the existence of a composition-induced diffuse phase transition of the ceramics with x?0.1. The evolution of the Raman spectra was studied as a function of various compositions at room temperature. The polarization state was checked by pyroelectric measurements.  相似文献

We describe the preparation, structure determination and magnetic properties of two Ba perovskites containing rare-earth cations at the B-sublattice. Ba3Ln2MoO9 (Ln=Ho3+ and Er3+) were synthesized by ceramic procedures. Joint X-ray (XRPD) and neutron (NPD) powder diffraction refinements were carried out to analyse the crystal structure. At room temperature, both phases are tetragonal, space group I4/mcm, Z=4. Ln and Mo atoms are found to be distributed at random over the octahedral sites of the perovskites. Magnetic measurements at 0.1 T show that both samples are paramagnetic between 3 and 300 K, following a Curie-Weiss law. M vs. H curves show a region of paramagnetic behaviour and above 2.5 T a magnetic saturated system is observed. Finally, the temperature evolution of the NPD patterns of Ba3Ho2MoO9 reveals the absence of long-range magnetic ordering down to 2 K.  相似文献

The isostructural ternary silicides M2Cr4Si5 (M=Ti, Zr, Hf) were prepared by arc-melting of the elemental components. The single-crystal structure of Zr2Cr4Si5 was determined by X-ray diffraction (Pearson symbol oI44, orthorhombic, space group Ibam, Z=4, a=7.6354(12) Å, b=16.125(3) Å, c=5.0008(8) Å). Zr2Cr4Si5 adopts the Nb2Cr4Si5-type structure, an ordered variant of the V6Si5-type structure. It consists of square antiprisms that have Zr and Cr atoms at the corners and Si atoms at the centers; they share opposite faces to form one-dimensional chains 1[Zr4/2Cr4/2Si] surrounded by additional Si atoms and extending along the c direction. In a new interpretation of the structure, additional Cr atoms occupy interstitial octahedral sites between these chains, clarifying the relation between this structure and that of Ta4SiTe4. The formation of short Si-Si bonds in Zr2Cr4Si5 is contrasted with the absence of Te-Te bonds in Ta4SiTe4. The compounds M2Cr4Si5 (M=Ti, Zr, Hf) exhibit metallic behavior and essentially temperature-independent paramagnetism. Bonding interactions were analyzed by band structure calculations, which confirm the importance of Si-Si bonding in these metal-rich compounds.  相似文献

We describe the preparation and structural characterization of four In-containing perovskites from neutron powder diffraction (NPD) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) data. Sr3In2B″O9 and Ba(In2/3B1/3)O3 (B″=W, U) were synthesized by standard ceramic procedures. The crystal structure of the W-containing perovskites and Ba(In2/3U1/3)O3 have been revisited based on our high-resolution NPD and XRPD data, while for the new U-containing perovskite Sr3In2UO9 the structural refinement was carried out from high-resolution XRPD data. At room temperature, the crystal structure for the two Sr phases is monoclinic, space group P21/n, where the In atoms occupy two different sites Sr2[In]2d[In1/3B2/3]2cO6, with a=5.7548(2) Å, b=5.7706(2) Å, c=8.1432(3) Å, β=90.01(1)° for B″=W and a=5.861(1) Å, b=5.908(1) Å, c=8.315(2) Å, β=89.98(1)° for B″=U. The two phases with A=Ba should be described in a simple cubic perovskite unit cell (S.G. Pmm) with In and B″ distributed at random at the octahedral sites, with a=4.16111(1) Å and 4.24941(1) Å for W and U compounds, respectively.  相似文献

Doped uranium brannerite phases (U1−xMxTi2O6; M=Ca2+, La3+ and Gd3+; x<0.5) were synthesized at 1400°C; the range of solid solution was found to vary depending on whether sintering took place in argon or air. Powder X-ray diffraction revealed that these phases crystallized to form monoclinic (C2/m) structures. In particular, the crystal structures of U0.74Ca0.26 Ti2O6 (1) (a=9.8008(2); b=3.7276(1); c=6.8745(1); β=118.38(1); V=220.97(1); Z=2; RP=7.3%; RB=4.6%) and U0.55La0.45Ti2O6 (2) (a=9.8002(7); b=3.7510(3); c=6.9990(5); β=118.37(4); V=226.40(3); Z=2; RP=4.5%; RB=2.9%) were refined from powder neutron diffraction data, revealing planes of corner and edge-sharing TiO6 octahedra separated by 8-fold coordinate U/M atoms. The oxygen sites within these structures were found to be fully occupied, confirming that the doping of lower valence M atoms occurs in conjunction with the oxidation of U(IV) to U(V).  相似文献

The reaction of Al, Ga, or In metals and H5IO6 in aqueous media at 180 °C leads to the formation of Al(IO3)3, Ga(IO3)3, or In(IO3)3, respectively. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction experiments have shown In(IO3)3 contains the Te4O9-type structure, while both Al(IO3)3 and Ga(IO3)3 are known to exhibit the polar Fe(IO3)3-type structure. Crystallographic data for In(IO3)3, trigonal, space group , a=9.7482(4) Å, c=14.1374(6) Å, V=1163.45(8) Z=6, R(F)=1.38% for 41 parameters with 644 reflections with I>2σ(I). All three iodate structures contain group 13 metal cations in a distorted octahedral coordination environment. M(IO3)3 (M=Al, Ga) contain a three-dimensional network formed by the bridging of Al3+ or Ga3+ cations by iodate anions. With In(IO3)3, iodate anions bridge In3+ cations in two-dimensional layers. Both materials contain distorted octahedral holes in their structures formed by terminal oxygen atoms from the iodate anions. The Raman spectra have been collected for these metal iodates; In(IO3)3 was found to display a distinctively different vibrational profile than Al(IO3)3 or Ga(IO3)3. Hence, the Raman profile can be used as a rapid diagnostic tool to discern between the different structural motifs.  相似文献

The effect of replacing Co3+ by Ga3+ and Fe3+ in the perovskite-related tetragonal phase Sr0.75Y0.25CoO2.625 with unit cell parameters: a=2ap, and c=4ap (314 phase) has been investigated. The 314 phase is formed by Sr0.75Y0.25Co1−xMxO2.625+δ, with x?0.375 for M=Ga and x?0.625 for M=Fe. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy and electron diffraction revealed frequent microtwinning in the iron-containing compounds, in contrast to the Ga-substituted 314 phases. Diffraction experiments and electron microscope images indicated that at higher Fe contents, 0.75?x?0.875, a disordered cubic perovskite structure forms. The crystal structures of Sr0.75Y0.25Co0.75Ga0.25O2.625 and Sr0.75Y0.25Co0.5Fe0.5O2.625+δ were refined using neutron powder diffraction data. It was found that the oxygen content of Sr0.75Y0.25Co0.5Fe0.5O2.625+δ is higher than in Fe-free 314 phase, so that δ corresponds to 0.076, whereas δ=0 in Sr0.75Y0.25Co0.75Ga0.25O2.625+δ. Magnetization measurements on the unsubstituted Sr0.7Y0.3CoO2.62 and Ga-substituted Sr0.75Y0.25Co0.75Ga0.25O2.625 compounds indicate the presence of a ferromagnetic-like contribution to the measured magnetization at 320 and 225 K, respectively, while replacing Co by Fe leads to the suppression of this contribution. A neutron diffraction study shows that the Sr0.75Y0.25Co0.5Fe0.5O2.625+δ compound is G-type antiferromagnetic at room temperature, whereas Sr0.75Y0.25Co0.75Ga0.25O2.625 does not exhibit magnetic ordering at room temperature.  相似文献

The disordered structures and low temperature dielectric relaxation properties of Bi1.667Mg0.70Nb1.52O7 (BMN) and Bi1.67Ni0.75Nb1.50O7 (BNN) misplaced-displacive cubic pyrochlores found in the Bi2O3-MIIO-Nb2O5 (M=Mg, Ni) systems are reported. As for other recently reported Bi-pyrochlores, the metal ion vacancies are found to be confined to the pyrochlore A site. The B2O6 octahedral sub-structure is found to be fully occupied and well-ordered. Considerable displacive disorder, however, is found associated with the O′A2 tetrahedral sub-structure in both cases. The A-site ions were displaced from Wyckoff position 16d (, , ) to 96 h (, , ) while the O′ oxygen was shifted from position 8b (, , ) to Wyckoff position 32e (, , ). The refined displacement magnitudes off the 16d and 8b sites for the A and O′ sites were 0.408 Å/0.423 Å and 0.350 Å/0.369 Å for BMN/BNN, respectively.  相似文献

A small addition of Li changes the orthorhombic structure of CuMg2 to hexagonal CuLixMg2−x (x=0.08). Determining the Li content of the ternary phase and Li atomic positions was our main objective for this work. For this reason we performed neutron diffraction at several different temperatures below and above room temperature. The results obtained on two neutron powder diffractometers were compared with X-ray diffraction (XRD) data, and with first-principles calculations. The first-principles calculations are in good agreement with Rietveld-refined data from neutron diffraction, but do not show a marked preference for one of several possible Li sites. The pair distribution function (PDF) fitting is consistent with Li substituting only Mg1 (1/2, 0, z). Interstitial spaces in the structure of CuMg2 and of CuLixMg2−x were also considered, but are unlikely to be occupied by Li. Neutron diffraction data for binary CuMg2 and Cu2Mg were also obtained.  相似文献

Two novel noncentrosymmetric borates oxides, MBi2B2O7 or MBi2O(BO3)2 (MCa, Sr), have been synthesized by solid-state reactions in air at temperatures in the 600-700 °C range. Their crystal structures have been determined ab initio and refined using powder neutron diffraction data. CaBi2B2O7 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pna21 space group with a=8.9371(5) Å, b=5.4771(3) Å, c=12.5912(7) Å, Z=4, Rwp=0.118, χ2=2.30. SrBi2B2O7 crystallizes in the hexagonal P63 space group with a=9.1404(4) Å, c=13.0808(6) Å, Z=6, Rwp=0.115, χ2=4.15. Large displacement parameters suggest the presence of disorder in SrBi2B2O7 as also revealed by diffuse 2×a superstructure reflections in electron diffraction patterns. Both structures are built of identical (001) neutral layers of corner-sharing BO3 triangles and MO6 trigonal prisms forming six-membered rings in which Bi2O groups are located. Adjacent layers are stacked in a staggered configuration and connected through weak Bi-O bonds. A moderate efficiency for second harmonic generation (SHG) has been measured for a powder sample of CaBi2B2O7 (deff=2deff(KDP)).  相似文献

Single-phase 1:2 B-site ordered perovskites are formed in the (1−x)A2+(Li1/4Nb3/4)O3-(x)A2+(Li2/5W3/5)O3 systems, A2+=Sr and Ca, within the range 0.238?x?0.333. The X-ray and electron diffraction patterns are consistent with a P21/c monoclinic supercell, , , , β≈125°, where the 1:2 order is combined with bbc+ octahedral tilting. Rietveld refinements of the ordered A(BI1/3BII2/3)O3 structures give a good fit to a model with BI occupied by Li and Nb, BII by W and Nb, and a general stoichiometry (Sr,Ca)(Li3/4+y/2Nb1/4−y/2)1/3(Nb1−yWy)2/3O3, y=0.9x=0.21-0.30. The Sr system also includes regions of stability of a 1:3 ordered phase for 0.0?x?0.111, and a 1:1 ordered double perovskite for 0.833?x?1.0. The formation of the non-stoichiometric 1:2 ordered phases is associated with the large site charge/size differences that can be accessed in these systems, and restricted by local charge imbalances at the A-sites for W-rich compositions. These concepts are used to generate stability maps to rationalize the formation of the known 1:2 ordered oxide perovskites.  相似文献

Single crystals of the title compounds were prepared by solid state reactions from barium carbonate and ruthenium metal using a BaBr2 flux and investigated by X-ray diffraction method using Mo(Kα) radiation and a Charge Coupled Device (CCD) detector. A structural model for the term n=2, Ba5Ru2Br2O9 (1) was established in the hexagonal symmetry, space group P63/mmc, a=5.8344(2) Å, c=25.637(2) Å, Z=2. Combined refinement and maximum-entropy method (MEM) unambiguously show the presence of CO32− ions in the three other compounds (2, 3, 4). Their crystal structures were solved and refined in the trigonal symmetry, space group , a=5.8381(1) Å, c=15.3083(6) Å for the term n=3, Ba6Ru3Br1.54(CO3)0.23O12 (2), and space group , a=5.7992(1) Å, c=52.866(2) Å and a=5.7900(1) Å, c=59.819(2) Å for the terms n=4, Ba7Ru4Br1.46(CO3)0.27O15 (3), and n=5, Ba8Ru5Br1.64(CO3)0.18O18 (4), respectively. The structures are formed by the periodic stacking along [0 0 1] of (n+1) hexagonal close-packed [BaO3] layers separated by a double layer of composition [Ba2Br2−2x(CO3)x]. The ruthenium atoms occupy the n octahedral interstices created in the hexagonal perovskite slabs and constitute isolated dimers Ru2O9 of face-shared octahedra (FSO) in 1 and isolated trimers Ru3O12 of FSO in 2. In 3 and 4, the Ru2O9 units are connected by corners either directly (3) or through a slab of isolated RuO6 octahedra (4) to form a bidimensional arrangement of RuO6 octahedra. These four oxybromocarbonates belong to the family of compounds formulated [Ba2Br2−2x(CO3)x][Ban+1RunO3n+3] where n represents the thickness of the octahedral string in hexagonal perovskite slabs. These compounds are compared to the oxychloride series.  相似文献

Bi2O3-MoO3 system shows a large panoply of phases depending on Bi/Mo ratio, among them, the low temperature phases of the homologous series Bi2(n+2)MonO6(n+1) with n=3, 4, 5 and 6. They exhibit, alike most of the phases of this system, strong fluorite sub-network. Nevertheless, a multitechnique approach has been followed in order to solve the crystal structure of the n=3 member, i.e. Bi10Mo3O24. From ab initio indexing X-ray powder pattern cell parameters were derived. It belongs to the monoclinic system, space group C2, with cell parameters: a=23.7282(2) Å, b=5.64906(6) Å, c=8.68173(9) Å, β=95.8668(7)° with Z=2. The matrix relating this cell with the fluorite one is 4 0 1/0 1 0/ 0  and a cationic localization was derived. HRTEM allowed the cationic Bi and Mo order to be modified and specified, as well as to build up a full structural ab initio model on the basis of crystal chemistry considerations. Simultaneous Rietveld refinement of multipattern X-ray and neutron powder diffraction data taking advantage of the neutron scattering length for O location have been performed. The goodness of the model was ascertained by low reliability factors, weighted Rb=4.97% and Rf=3.21%. This complex Bi10Mo3O24 structure, with 5Bi, 2Mo and 13O in different crystallographic positions of the asymmetric unit, shows good agreement between observed and calculated patterns within the data resolution. Moreover, the determination of this structure sets the basis for the crystallographic characterization of the complete family Bi2(n+2)MonO6(n+1), whose guidelines are also evidenced in this paper.  相似文献

A new quaternary layered oxycarbide, [Al4.39(5)Si0.61(5)]Σ5[O1.00(2)C2.00(2)]Σ3C, has been synthesized and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The title compound was found to be hexagonal with space group P63/mmc, Z=2, and unit-cell dimensions a=0.32783(1) nm, c=2.16674(7) nm and V=0.20167(1) nm3. The atom ratios Al:Si were determined by EDX, and the initial structural model was derived by the direct methods. The final structural model showed the positional disordering of one of the three types of Al/Si sites. The maximum-entropy methods-based pattern fitting (MPF) method was used to confirm the validity of the split-atom model, in which conventional structure bias caused by assuming intensity partitioning was minimized. The reliability indices calculated from the MPF were Rwp=3.73% (S=1.20), Rp=2.94%, RB=1.04% and RF=0.81%. The crystal was an inversion twin. Each twin-related individual was isostructural with Al4SiC4 (space group P63mc, Z=2).  相似文献
