The absorption spectrum of ozone was recorded at low temperatures (down to -135 degrees C) by high resolution Fourier transform spectrometry and intra cavity laser absorption spectroscopy (ICLAS) near 10,400 cm-1. A preliminary analysis of the rotational structure of the absorption spectra of 16O3 and 18O3 shows that this spectral region corresponds to a superposition of two different electronic transitions, one with a very broad rotational structure, showing for the first time the asymmetric stretching frequency mode nu3 of the electronic state 3A2, the other formed by a completely diffuse band, probably the 2(1)(0) band of a new transition due to the triplet electronic state 3B2. Predissociation effects induce large broadening of the rotational lines for the transition centered at 10,473 cm-1 identified as the 3(2)(0) band of the 3A2 <-- X1A1 electronic transition. The rotational structure cannot be analyzed directly but instead the band contour method was used to confirm the symmetry of the transition and to estimate the spectroscopic constants for the 16O isotopomer. The origin of the band is at 10,473 +/- 3 cm-1 and the value of the 16O3(3A2) antisymmetric stretching frequency mode is equal to 460 +/- 2 cm-1. We believe that the diffuse band is due to the 3B2 state and is located at about 10,363 +/- 3 cm-1 for 16O3 and 10,354 +/- 3 cm-1 for 18O3. The isotopic rules confirm the different results obtained for 18O3 and 16O3.  相似文献

The jet-cooled A?-X? near IR origin band spectra of the G(1)G(2)G(3) conformer of four β-hydroxyethylperoxy isotopologues, β-HEP (HOCH(2)CH(2)OO), β-DHEP (DOCH(2)CH(2)OO), β-HEP-d(4) (HOCD(2)CD(2)OO), and β-DHEP-d(4) (DOCD(2)CD(2)OO), have been recorded by a cavity ringdown spectrometer with a laser source linewidth of ~70 MHz. The spectra of all four isotopologues have been analyzed and successfully simulated with an evolutionary algorithm, confirming the cyclic structure of the molecule responsible for the observed origin band. The analysis also provides experimental A? and X? state rotational constants and the orientation of the transition dipole moment in the inertial axis system; these quantities are compared to results from electronic structure calculations. The observed, broad linewidth (Δν > 2 GHz) is attributed to a shortened lifetime of the A? state associated with dynamics along the reaction path for hydrogen transfer from the OH to OO group.  相似文献

A high resolution Fourier transform spectrometry analysis of the rotational structure of the 2(0)1 absorption bands of the 3A2<--X1A1 Wulf transition for the isotopomers 16O3 and 18O3 of the ozone molecule is presented. These bands are very intense compared to the 0(0)0 bands but the predissociation is so strong that the main sub-bands appear as continuous contours. Isolated lines and band contour methods are used together to analyse these two rovibrational bands. The lines corresponding to the F2 component are generally the most intense and isolated. Our data sets for the (0 1 0) level of the 3A2 state are limited to about 102 weakly or unperturbed rotational lines for the 2(0)1 of 16O3 in the range 9620-10,140 cm(-1) and 123 weakly or unperturbed rotational lines for the same band of 18O3. Using for each of them the well-defined ground state parameters, we obtained a standard deviation of about 0.035 cm(-1) in the fit to the lines for 16O3 and 0.027 cm(-1) in the case of 18O3. The rotational constants A, B and C, the three rotational distortion terms deltaK, deltaJK and deltaJ, the spin-rotation constants a0, a and b have been successfully calculated for 16O3 and 18O3 while the spin-spin constants were fixed to their respective values obtained for the origin bands. As is the case for the 0(0)0 band, we have a partial agreement with the isotopic laws for the rotational constants. The geometrical parameters of the (0 1 0) level of 3A2 state for the two isotopomers are close, r = 1.357 A, theta = 100.7 degrees for 18O3 and r = 1.352 A and theta = 100.0 degrees for 16O3. The origin of the 2(0)1 band of 18O3 is red shifted by 7.06(4) cm(-1) with respect to 16O3 2(0)1 band and the two bending mode quanta are, respectively, 528.99(9) and 501.34(7) cm(-1). A preliminary qualitative analysis of the predissociation is given in the particular case of the F2 spin component of 16O3 for 0(0)0 and 2(0)1 bands by the measurement of shifts of positions of some rovibrational levels and the evolution of predissociation broadenings in (Q)Q2 branches. We justify the existence of perturbations in the rovibrational levels of 3A2 state through different interaction types: with the dissociation continuum of the same electronic state or with high vibrational repulsive or weakly bound levels of the ground state.  相似文献

The reaction of ground state boron atoms, 11B(2Pj), with allene, H2CCCH2(X1A1), was studied under single collision conditions at a collision energy of 21.5 kJ mol(-1) utilizing the crossed molecular beam technique; the experimental data were combined with electronic structure calculations on the 11BC3H4 potential energy surface. The chemical dynamics were found to be indirect and initiated by an addition of the boron atom to the pi-electron density of the allene molecule leading ultimately to a cyclic reaction intermediate. The latter underwent ring-opening to yield an acyclic intermediate H2CCBCH2. As derived from the center-of-mass functions, this structure was long-lived with respect to its rotational period and decomposed via an atomic hydrogen loss through a tight exit transition state to form the closed shell, C2v symmetric H-C is equivalent C-B=CH2 molecule. A brief comparison of the product isomers formed in the reaction of boron atoms with methylacetylene is also presented.  相似文献

The high-resolution infrared absorption spectrum of an equilibrium mixture of HCN and HCl in a static gas long-path absorption cell is recorded in the 2500–2900 cm−1 spectral region at 205 K. The spectrum shows rovibrational structure which has the typical appearance of a parallel band of a linear molecule and is assigned to the intramolecular H–Cl stretching vibration band ν2 of the linear HCN–H35Cl heterodimer. The rovibrational analysis of the band yield a band origin ν0 of 2779.0968(12) cm−1 together with a value for the upper-state rotational constant B′ of 0.067722(2) cm−1. The observed red shift of 107 cm−1 for the ν2 band of HCN–H35Cl relative to the H–Cl stretching vibration band of monomer H35Cl is in excellent agreement with results from the MP2/6−311++G** level of theory. The value of the upper-state rotational constant shows that the intermolecular hydrogen bond shortens by 0.022 Å upon intramolecular vibrational excitation of the ν2 mode.  相似文献

An electronic transition of the AlC2 radical (C2v structure) has been observed using laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy. The molecule was prepared in a supersonic expansion by ablation of an aluminum rod in the presence of acetylene gas. A spectrum was recorded in the 451-453 nm region and assigned to the C 2B2-X 2A1 system (T0 = 22,102.7 cm(-1)) based on a rotational analysis and agreement with calculated molecular parameters and excitation energies. Ab initio results obtained using couple cluster methods are in accord with previous theoretical work which concludes that ground-state AlC2 possesses a T-shaped C2v 2A1 geometry, with the linear 2Sigma+ AlCC isomer 0.70 eV higher in energy. A fit of the experimental spectrum yields rotational constants in the ground and electronically excited states that are in reasonable agreement with the calculated values: A' = 1.7093(107), B' = 0.4052(50), C' = 0.3228(49) cm(-1) for the X 2A1 state, and A' = 1.5621(137), B' = 0.4028(46), C' = 0.3201(54) cm(-1) for C 2B2. Variation in individual fluorescence lifetimes suggests that the emitting C 2B2 state undergoes rovibronic mixing with lower lying electronic states.  相似文献

We present a finite temperature quantum mechanical study of the dynamical and structural properties of small (4)He(N)-CO(2) clusters (N< or =17) using a path integral Monte Carlo (PIMC) method. The simulations were based on a He-CO(2) interaction potential with explicit dependence on the asymmetric stretch of the CO(2) molecule obtained at the CCSD(T) level. The shift of the CO(2) antisymmetric stretching (nu(3)) band origin and effective rotational constant were calculated as a function of the cluster size. In excellent agreement with experimental observations, the CO(2) vibrational band origin shifts and rotational constant show a turnaround near N=5, corresponding to a donut structure with the He atoms in equatorial positions of the linear dopant molecule.  相似文献

Adiabatic potential energy surfaces for the six lowest singlet electronic states of N(2)O (X (1)A('), 2 (1)A('), 3 (1)A('), 1 (1)A("), 2 (1)A(") and 3 (1)A(")) have been computed using an ab initio multireference configuration interaction (MRCI) method and a large orbital basis set (aug-cc-pVQZ). The potential energy surfaces display several symmetry related and some nonsymmetry related conical intersections. Total photodissociation cross sections and product rotational state distributions have been calculated for the first ultraviolet absorption band of the system using the adiabatic ab initio potential energy and transition dipole moment surfaces corresponding to the lowest three excited electronic states. In the Franck-Condon region the potential energy curves corresponding to these three states lie very close in energy and they all contribute to the absorption cross section in the first ultraviolet band. The total angular momentum is treated correctly in both the initial and final states. The total photodissociation spectra and product rotational distributions are determined for N(2)O initially in its ground vibrational state (0,0,0) and in the vibrationally excited (0,1,0) (bending) state. The resulting total absorption spectra are in good quantitative agreement with the experimental results over the region of the first ultraviolet absorption band, from 150 to 220 nm. All of the lowest three electronically excited states [(1)Sigma(-)(1 (1)A(")), (1)Delta(2 (1)A(')), and (1)Delta(2 (1)A("))] have zero transition dipole moments from the ground state [(1)Sigma(+)(1 (1)A('))] in its equilibrium linear configuration. The absorption becomes possible only through the bending motion of the molecule. The (1)Delta(2 (1)A('))<--X (1)Sigma(+)((1)A(')) absorption dominates the absorption cross section with absorption to the other two electronic states contributing to the shape and diffuse structure of the band. It is suggested that absorption to the bound (1)Delta(2 (1)A(")) state makes an important contribution to the experimentally observed diffuse structure in the first ultraviolet absorption band. The predicted product rotational quantum state distribution at 203 nm agrees well with experimental observations.  相似文献

A new approach has been developed for the purpose of measuring the electronic transitions to bound exited states for cations that have been collisionally relaxed to low vibrational and rotational temperatures. This has been used to obtain the first gas phase electronic spectra of the protonated polyacetylenes using a two-color ion-photodissociation approach. Specifically, the origin bands in the B (1)A(1)<-- X(1)A(1) transitions of HC(6)H(2) (+) and HC(8)H(2) (+) (C(2v) geometry) were observed at 26,403.3 and 21,399.8 cm(-1). Data on such cooled systems allow a direct comparison between laboratory and astrophysical measurements.  相似文献

In this work, the X2B1 and A2A1 electronic states of the phosphino (PH2) free radical have been studied by dispersed fluorescence and ab initio methods. PH2 molecules were produced in a molecular free-jet apparatus by laser vaporizing a silicon rod in the presence of phosphine (PH3) gas diluted in helium. The laser-induced fluorescence, from the excited A2A1 electronic state down to the ground electronic state, was dispersed and analyzed. Ten (upsilon1upsilon2upsilon3) vibrationally excited levels of the ground electronic state, with upsilon1 < or = 2, upsilon2 < or = 6, and upsilon3 = 0, have been observed. Ab initio potential-energy surfaces for the X2B1 and A2A1 electronic states have been calculated at 210 points. These two states correlate with a 2Pi(u) state at linearity and they interact by the Renner-Teller coupling and spin-orbit coupling. Using the ab initio potential-energy surfaces with our RENNER computer program system, the vibronic structure and relative intensities of the A2A1 --> X2B1 emission band system have been calculated in order to corroborate the experimental assignments.  相似文献

The study of the S1(1A1)<--S0(1A1) transition of benzo[g,h,i]perylene (BghiP, C22H12) in supersonic jets and solid rare gas matrices is reported. In the jet-cooled spectrum, the origin band position is located at 25,027.1+/-0.2 cm-1, the assignment being supported by the analysis of vibrational shifts and rotational band contours. Except for the origin band, which is weak, all bands are attributed to the fundamental excitation of nontotally symmetric b1 vibrational modes of S1. The intensity pattern is interpreted as a consequence of the weak oscillator strength of the electronic transition combined with intensity-borrowing through vibronic interaction between the S1(1A1) and S2(1B1) states. The spectra of the S1(1A1)<--S0(1A1) and S2(1B1)<--S0(1A1) transitions have also been measured for BghiP in solid neon and argon matrices. The comparison of the redshifts determined for either transition reveals that the polarizability of BghiP is larger in its S2 than in its S1 state. Bandwidths of 2.7 cm-1 measured in supersonic jets, which provide conditions relevant for astrophysics, are similar to those of most diffuse interstellar bands. The electronic transitions of BghiP are found to lie outside the ranges covered by present databases. From the comparison between experimental spectra and theoretical computations, it is concluded that the accuracy of empirical and ab initio approaches in predicting electronic energies is still not sufficient to identify astrophysically interesting candidates for spectroscopic laboratory studies.  相似文献

The sensitivity of vibronic calculations to electronic structure methods and basis sets is explored and compared to accurate relative intensities of the vibrational bands of phenylacetylene in the S(1)(A(1)B(2)) ← S(0)(X(1)A(1)) transition. To provide a better measure of vibrational band intensities, the spectrum was recorded by cavity ringdown absorption spectroscopy up to energies of 2000 cm(-1) above the band origin in a slit jet sample. The sample rotational temperature was estimated to be about 30 K, but the vibrational temperature was higher, permitting the assignment of many vibrational hot bands. The vibronic structure of the electronic transition was simulated using a combination of time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) electronic structure codes, Franck-Condon integral calculations, and a second-order vibronic model developed previously [Johnson, P. M.; Xu, H. F.; Sears, T. J. J. Chem. Phys. 2006, 125, 164331]. The density functional theory (DFT) functionals B3LYP, CAM-B3LYP, and LC-BLYP were explored. The long-range-corrected functionals, CAM-B3LYP and LC-BLYP, produced better values for the equilibrium geometry transition moment, but overemphasized the vibronic coupling for some normal modes, while B3LYP provided better-balanced vibronic coupling but a poor equilibrium transition moment. Enlarging the basis set made very little difference. The cavity ringdown measurements show that earlier intensities derived from resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization (REMPI) spectra have relative intensity errors.  相似文献

The high-resolution far-infrared absorption spectrum of the gaseous molecular complex H(3)N-HCN is recorded by means of static gas-phase Fourier transform far-infrared spectroscopy at 247 K, using a synchrotron radiation source. The spectrum contains distinct rotational structures which are assigned to the intermolecular NH(3) libration band nu9(1) (nu(B)) of the pyramidal H(3)N-HCN complex. A rovibrational analysis based on a standard semirigid symmetric top molecule model yields the band origin of 260.03(10) cm(-1), together with values for the upper state rotational constant B' and the upper state quartic centrifugal distortion constants D'(J) and D'(JK). The values for the upper state spectroscopic constants indicate that the hydrogen bond in the H(3)N-HCN complex is destabilized by 5% and elongates by 0.010 A upon excitation of a quantum of libration of the hydrogen bond acceptor molecule.  相似文献

The change of the 2-pyridone-water cluster (2PYH(2)O) structure upon electronic excitation is determined by a Franck-Condon analysis of the intensities in the fluorescence emission spectra obtained via excitation of three different vibronic bands as well as a structural fit based on the rotational constants of eight isotopomers that have been reported by Held and Pratt (J. Am. Chem. Soc., 1993, 115, 9708]. A total of 93 emission band intensities were fit, together with the changes of rotational constants of 8 isotopomers. The geometry change upon electronic excitation to the pipi* state can be described by a strong and unsymmetrical elongation of the hydrogen bonds, a contraction of the OH bond involved in the cyclic cluster arrangement, and an unsymmetrical ring deformation. The resulting geometry changes are interpreted on the basis of ab initio calculations.  相似文献

The anions of CsC2 and CsC4 produced by sputtering a graphite surface with Cs+ were mass-selected and trapped in neon matrixes at 6 K. The electronic absorption spectra of CsC2 and CsC4, obtained by photodetachment of electrons from the anions, were measured subsequently and reveal strong absorptions in the visible range, which resemble the known band systems of C2- and C4-, respectively. The origin band of CsC2 (500.4 nm) and CsC4 (442.6 nm) is shifted by approximately 1100 or by approximately 700 cm(-1) to the blue from the position of the 0(0)0 band of C2- or C4-. The observed system of CsC2 is assigned to the 2B2-X 2A1 electronic transition of the T-shaped form. The CsC4 spectrum is consistent with a C4- chain slightly perturbed by the Cs atom. The oscillator strength of the observed electronic transition of CsC2 and CsC4 is an order of magnitude larger than for the respective carbon anions. CsC2- has a weak electronic transition, assigned to 1B2-X 1A1 in the C2v form, with origin band at 516.5 nm.  相似文献

Infrared spectra of the CS(2) dimer are observed in the region of the CS(2) ν(3) fundamental band (~1535 cm(-1)) using a tunable diode laser spectrometer. The weakly bound complex is formed in a pulsed supersonic slit-jet expansion of a dilute gas mixture of carbon disulfide in helium. Contrary to the planar slipped-parallel geometry previously observed for (CO(2))(2), (N(2)O)(2), and (OCS)(2), the CS(2) dimer exhibits a cross-shaped structure with D(2d) symmetry. Two bands were observed and analyzed: the fundamental (C-S asymmetric stretch) and a combination involving this mode plus an intermolecular vibration. In both cases, the rotational structure corresponds to a perpendicular (ΔK = ±1) band of a symmetric rotor molecule. The intermolecular center of mass separation (C-C distance) is determined to be 3.539(7) A?. Thanks to symmetry, this is the only parameter required to characterize the structure, if the monomer geometry is assumed to remain unchanged in the dimer. From the band centers of the fundamental and combination band an intermolecular frequency of 10.96 cm(-1) is obtained, which we assign as the torsional bending mode. This constitutes the first high resolution spectroscopic investigation of CS(2) dimer.  相似文献

In a discharged supersonic jet of acetonitrile and carbon disulfide, we have for the first time observed an electronic transition of the NC(3)S radical using laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) spectroscopy. A progression originating from the C-S stretching mode of the upper electronic state appears in the excitation spectrum. Each band of the progression has a polyad structure due to anharmonic resonances with even overtones of bending modes. Rotationally resolved spectra have been observed by high-resolution laser scans, and the electronic transition is assigned to A 2Pii-X 2Pii. For the vibronic origin band, the position and the effective rotational constant of the upper level have been determined to be 21 553.874(1) and 0.046 689(4) cm(-1), respectively. The dispersed fluorescence spectrum from the zero vibrational level of A 2Pi3/2 has also been observed; its vibrational structure is similar to that of the LIF excitation spectrum, showing a prominent C-S stretching progression with polyad structures. The vibrational frequencies of the C-S stretching mode in the ground and excited electronic states are determined to be 550 and 520 cm(-1), respectively. Fluorescence decay profiles have been measured for several vibronic levels of the A state.  相似文献

Spectra of ethylene dimers and trimers are studied in the ν(11) fundamental band region of C(2)D(4) (≈2200 cm(-1)) using a tuneable quantum cascade laser to probe a pulsed supersonic slit jet expansion. The dimer spectrum is that of a prolate symmetric top perpendicular band, with a distinctive appearance because the A rotational constant is almost exactly equal to six times the B constant. The analysis supports the previously determined cross-shaped dimer structure with D(2d) symmetry. An ethylene trimer has not previously been observed with rotational resolution. The spectrum is that of an oblate symmetric top parallel band. It leads to a proposed trimer structure which is barrel shaped and has C(3h) or C(3) symmetry, with the ethylene monomer C-C axes approximately aligned along the trimer symmetry axis.  相似文献

The infrared absorption spectrum of ammonia borane vapor has been recorded between 3600 and 600 cm(-1). Of the eleven infrared active fundamental vibrational modes, seven modes of NH(3)(11)BH(3) and four modes of NH(3)(10)BH(3) were observed. The spectra were recorded with sufficient resolution to observe the rotational structure of the bands, which allowed for preliminary least-squares fitting of the band origins and rotational constants. First-principles electronic structure calculations were performed to obtain anharmonic band origins and their intensities. The band assignments are discussed in relation to other spectroscopic techniques that have been previously used to study this molecule. A semi-empirical estimate of the vapor pressure of ammonia borane at room temperature (22 °C) was made and found to be ~1 × 10(-4) Torr. The assignment of the measured modes was aided by the calculated anharmonic frequencies and their infrared intensities. The combination of the CCSD(T) harmonic frequencies with the B3LYP anharmonicities, obtained from second-order vibrational perturbation theory, was found to produce an overall best agreement with the measured band origins.  相似文献

Rotationally resolved fluorescence excitation spectra of the S(1)<--S(0) origin band of 7-azaindole [1H-pyrrolo(2,3-b)pyridine] and its argon atom van der Waals complex have been recorded and assigned. The derived rotational constants give information about the geometries of the two molecules in both electronic states. The equilibrium position of the argon atom in the azaindole complex is considerably different from its position in the corresponding indole complex. Furthermore, the argon atom moves when the UV photon is absorbed. There are significant differences in the intermolecular potential energy surfaces in the two electronic states. A large, vibration-state-dependent rotation of the S(1)<--S(0) electronic transition moment vector of 7-azaindole relative to that of indole suggests that these differences have their origin in S(1)/S(2) electronic state mixing in the isolated molecule, a mixing that is enhanced by nitrogen substitution in the six-membered ring.  相似文献
