In this paper we study the existence of traveling wave solutions to the Keller‐Segel model, a general model of chemotaxis, where the species do not reproduce. In the case of logarithmic sensitivity we show that various functionals modeling the reactive feedback on the chemo‐attractant do allow for traveling waves and a wide range of qualitatively different behavior is possible. We can find monotone fronts as well as pulse solutions in the densities of the population and the chemical. In particular, a new kind of solution exists, where both densities travel as pulses.  相似文献

This paper concerns with the traveling wave solutions of a nonlinear reaction-diffusion-advection model for describing the spatiotemporal evolution of bacterial colony pattern. We use different methods for computing the traveling wave fronts of the model equations. One of the methods involves the traveling wave equations. Numerical solutions of these equations as an initial-value problem lead to accurate computations of the wave profiles and speeds. The second method is to construct the time-dependent solutions by solving an initial-moving boundary-value problem for the PDE system, showing an approximation for such wave fronts, in particular, the minimum speed traveling wave.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence, uniqueness and asymptotic behavior of traveling wave fronts for a vector disease model. We first establish the existence of traveling wave fronts by using geometric singular perturbation theory. Then the asymptotic behavior and uniqueness of traveling wave fronts are obtained by using the standard asymptotic theory and sliding method. In addition, our method is also suitable to establish the uniqueness and asymptotic behavior of traveling wave fronts for a cooperative system.  相似文献

In this paper we study traveling wave solutions of a non-cooperative lattice-diffusion system with time delay, which includes predator–prey models and disease-transmission models. Minimal wave speed of traveling wave solutions is given. Schauder’s fixed-point theorem is applied to show the existence of semi-traveling wave solutions. The boundness and persistence of traveling wave solutions are overcome by using rescaling method and Laplace transform, where the application of Laplace transform to persistence is very novel and creative. The traveling wave solutions for some specific models are shown to connect to a positive equilibrium by using Lyapunov function and LaSalle’s invariance principle.  相似文献

This article studies the existence of traveling wave solutions in an integrodifference equation with weak compactness. Because of the special kernel function that may depend on the Dirac function, traveling wave maps have lower regularity such that it is difficult to directly look for a traveling wave solution in the uniformly continuous and bounded functional space. In this paper, by introducing a proper set of potential wave profiles, we can obtain the existence and precise asymptotic behavior of nontrivial traveling wave solutions, during which we do not require the monotonicity of this model.  相似文献

We obtain some existence results for traveling wave fronts and slowly oscillatory spatially periodic traveling waves of planar lattice differential systems with delay. Our approach is via Schauder's fixed-point theorem for the existence of traveling wave fronts and via S1-degree and equivarant bifurcation theory for the existence of periodic traveling waves. As examples, the obtained abstract results will be applied to a model arising from neural networks and explicit conditions for traveling wave fronts and global continuation of periodic waves will be obtained.  相似文献

The paper is concerned with stability of traveling wave fronts for nonlocal diffusive systems. We adopt L1-weighted, L1- and L2-energy estimates for the perturbation systems, and show that all solutions of the Cauchy problem for the considered systems converge exponentially to traveling wave fronts provided that the initial perturbations around the traveling wave fronts belong to a suitable weighted Sobolev space.  相似文献

The method of the phase plane is emploied to investigate the solitary and periodic traveling waves for a class of nonlinear dispersive partial differential equations. By using the bifurcation theory of dynamical systems to do qualitative analysis, all possible phase portraits in the parametric space for the traveling wave systems are obtained. It can be shown that the existence of a singular straight line in the traveling wave system is the reason why smooth solitary wave solutions converge to solitary cusp wave solution when parameters are varied. The different parameter conditions for the existence of solitary and periodic wave solutions of different kinds are rigorously determined.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence of traveling wave solutions for delayed reaction diffusion systems which contain the competition diffusion systems with time lags. By using a cross iteration scheme, we reduce the existence of traveling wave solutions to the existence of a pair of admissible upper and lower solutions, which also provides a constructive process of the traveling wave solutions. To illustrate our conclusion, we consider a delayed diffusion system with the Gilpin–Ayala type nonlinearity and establish the existence of its traveling wave solutions, which cannot be answered by the existing results.  相似文献

In this paper, we use the bifurcation method of dynamical systems to study the traveling wave solutions for the Davey–Stewartson equation. A number of traveling wave solutions are obtained. Those solutions contain explicit periodic wave solutions, periodic blow‐up wave solutions, unbounded wave solutions, kink profile solitary wave solutions, and solitary wave solutions. This paper is concerned with the existence, asymptotic behavior, strict monotonicity, and uniqueness of traveling wave fronts connecting two half-positive equilibria in a delayed lattice competitive system. We first prove the existence of traveling wave fronts by constructing upper and lower solutions and Schauder’s fixed point theorem, and then, for sufficiently small intraspecific competitive delays, prove that these traveling wave fronts decay exponentially at both infinities. Furthermore, for system without intraspecific competitive delays, the strict monotonicity and uniqueness of traveling wave fronts are established by means of the sliding method. In addition, we give the exact decay rate of the stronger competitor under some technique conditions by appealing to uniqueness.  相似文献

This paper deals with the existence of traveling wave solutions of a class of delayed system of lattice differential equations, which formulates the invasion process when two competitive species are invaders. Employing the comparison principle of competitive systems, a new cross-iteration scheme is given to establish the existence of traveling wave solutions. More precisely, by the cross-iteration, the existence of traveling wave solutions is reduced to the existence of an admissible pair of upper and lower solutions. To illustrate our main results, we prove the existence of traveling wave solutions in two delayed two-species competition systems with spatial discretization. Our results imply that the delay appeared in the interspecific competition terms do not affect the existence of traveling wave solutions.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence, monotonicity, asymptotic behavior and uniqueness of traveling wave solutions for a three-species competitive–cooperative system with nonlocal dispersal and bistable dynamics. By considering a related truncated problem, we first establish the existence and strict monotonicity of traveling waves by means of a limiting argument and a comparative lemma. Then the asymptotic behavior of traveling waves is investigated by using Ikehara’s lemma and bilateral Laplace transform. This paper is concerned with the traveling wave solutions in a diffusive system with two preys and one predator. By constructing upper and lower solutions, the existence of nontrivial traveling wave solutions is established. The asymptotic behavior of traveling wave solutions is also confirmed by combining the asymptotic spreading with the contracting rectangles. Applying the theory of asymptotic spreading, the nonexistence of traveling wave solutions is proved.  相似文献
