Electromagnetic properties of the low-lying states in a 70Ge nucleus were studied through the multiple Coulomb excitation of a 70Ge beam with a natPb target. Relative γ-ray intensities were measured as a function of emission angle relative to the scattered projectile. Sixteen E2 matrix elements, including diagonal ones, for 6 low-lying states have been determined using the least-squares search code GOSIA. The expectation values 〈Q 2〉 of 01 + and 02 + states in 70Ge are compared with those in 72, 74, 76Ge. Simple mixing calculations indicate that the 02 + states in 70Ge and 72Se can be treated as deformed intruder states. It is shown that the deformed intruder becomes the ground state in 74Kr. These interpretations of the 02 + states in this region are compared with the potential-energy surface calculations by the Nilsson-Strutinsky model, which allow to interpret the experimental results in a qualitative way from the theoretical point of view. Laser spectroscopy measurements have been carried out on the very neutron-rich tin isotopes with the COMPLIS experimental setup. Using the 5s 25p 23 P 0 → 5s 25p6s 3 P 1 optical transition, hyperfine spectra of 126-132Sn and 125m, 127m, 129m-131mSn where recorded for the first time. The variation of the mean-square charge radius ( δ〈r 2〉) between these nuclei and nuclear moments of the isomers and the odd isotopes were thus measured. An odd-even staggering which inverts at A = 130 is clearly observed. This indicates a small appearance of a plateau on the δ〈r 2〉 which has to be confirmed by measuring the isotope shift beyond A = 132. Based on a micromagnetics model, we develop a method through which quantitative information on the volume-averaged mean-square magnetostatic stray field 〈|H b d|2 v due to non-zero divergences of the magnetization M within the bulk of a ferromagnetic body can be obtained by analysis of magnetic-field-dependent small-angle neutron scattering data. In the limit of high applied magnetic field H a, when the direction of M deviates only sligthly from H a, we have estimated a lower bound for 〈|H b d|2 v as a function of the external field, and we have applied the method to bulk samples of nanocrystalline electrodeposited Ni and Co and coarse-grained polycrystalline cold-worked Ni. The root-mean-square magnetostatic stray field, which is inherent to a particular magnetic microstructure, shows a pronounced field dependence, with values ranging from about 5 to 50mT. Even at applied fields as large as 1.7T, the quantity μ〈|H b d|21/2 v of nanocrystalline Co is still 24mT, which suggests that contributions to the total magnetostatic field originating from the bulk are significant in nanocrystalline ferromagnets; therefore, 〈|H b d|2 v cannot be ignored in the interpretation of e.g. measurements of magnetization or spin-wave resonance. A comparison of 〈|H b d|2 v with the volume-averaged mean-square anisotropy field reveals that both quantities are of comparable magnitude. We have carried out measurements on metastable fragmentation of mass selected argon cluster ions which are produced by electron impact ionization of a neutral argon cluster beam. From the shape of the fragment ion peaks (MIKE scan technique) one can deduce information about the distribution of kinetic energy that is released in the decay reaction. In this study, for Ar 5 + to Ar 15 +, it is Gaussian and thus we can calculate from the peak width the mean kinetic energy release 〈KER〉 of the corresponding decay reactions. Using finite heat bath theory we calculate from these data the binding energies of the decaying cluster ions. Received 20 November 2000  相似文献

The decay of the 17 μs isomer of 133Sb was re-investigated experimentally. It was produced by thermal neutron induced fission of 241Pu. Its detection is based on time correlation between fission fragments selected by the LOHENGRIN spectrometer at ILL (Grenoble), and the γ-rays, and conversion electrons from the isomer. The interpretation of the level scheme is based on shell model calculations, where empirical two-body matrix elements were employed. The good agreement between theory and experiment suggests that the isomer is the 21/2+ member of the 2p-1h πg 7/2ν(f 7/2 h 11/2 −1) configuration. QCD sum rules predict that the change of the strange quark condensate 〈ˉss〉 in hadron matter at finite baryon density causes a shift of the peak position of the di-electron spectra from φ-meson decays. Due to the expansion of hadron matter in heavy-ion collisions, the φ peak suffers a smearing governed by the interval of density in the expanding fireball, which appears as an effective broadening of the di-electron spectrum in the φ region. The emerging broadening is sensitive to the in-medium change of 〈ˉss〉. This allows to probe directly in-medium modifications of 〈ˉss〉 via di-electron spectra in heavy-ion collisions at SIS energies with HADES. We extend the recently presented formalism for Monte Carlo calculations of the partition function, for both even and odd particle number systems (Phys. Rev. C 59, 2500 (1999)), to the calculation of many-body matrix elements of the type <ψ| e - βℋ|ψ> where |ψ> is a many-body state with a definite angular momentum, parity, neutron and proton numbers. For large β such matrix elements are dominated by the lowest eigenstate of the many-body Hamiltonian ℋ, corresponding with a given angular momentum parity and particle number. Emphasis is placed on odd-mass nuclei. Negligible sign fluctuations in the Monte Carlo calculation are found provided the neutron and proton chemical potentials are properly adjusted. The formalism is applied to the J π = 0+ state in 166 Er and to the J π = 9/2-, 13/2+, 5/2- states in 165 Er using the pairing-plus-quadrupole model. High-spin states in 208Pb have been studied by γ-ray-spectroscopy methods in deep inelastic reactions induced by beams of 208Pb, 136Xe and 76Ge beams on a thick 208Pb target. The 11+ 2 state and new γ-transitions between the one-particle one-hole states of highest spin have been found and electromagnetic matrix elements verified. High-spin states of two-particle two-hole structure have been detected for the first time. The results are compared to shell model calculations with realistic interactions in the complete Kuo-Herling space. Received: 31 October 2000 / Accepted: 26 March 2001  相似文献

In this work we have identified and studied the decay of two new microsecond isomers 19/2- and 23/2+ in 131Sb. This neutron-rich nucleus was produced by thermal neutron-induced fission of 241Pu. The detection is based on time correlation between fission fragments selected by the LOHENGRIN spectrometer at ILL (Grenoble) and the γ-rays or conversion electrons from isomers. These new data on high-spin states complete the level scheme previously obtained from β-decay. A large fraction of the members of the πg 7/2ν(h 11/2 -1 d 3/2 -1) and πg 7/2νh 11/2 -2 multiplets are now known and were compared with a multi-particle shell model calculation. A SU(2) effective Lagrangian is extended to a SU L(3) ⊗SU R(3) by including the vector and axial vector meson. With this effective Lagrangian, electromagnetic form factors of charged pion and kaon are calculated in both time- and space-like regions. The pseudoscalar meson loops are taken into account. Good agreement with experimental data is obtained for those form factors and charged pseudoscalar meson radii. Decay widths of ρ→ππ and φ→K + K - are also calculated and shown to agree with experimental data very well. Received: 20 December 1999 / Accepted: 12 October 2000  相似文献

High-spin states in 112Pd were studied using prompt γ-ray spectroscopy with Gammasphere following heavy-ion-induced fission in the reaction 18O + 208Pb at 91 MeV. A new 8+ level at 2638 keV was discovered with transitions connecting it to the yrast band and the quasi-gamma band. The three, now established, closely spaced 8+ states indicate a mixing between the ground-state band, s-band, and quasi-gamma band. Several high-spin structures with likely negative parity have been extended to higher spin and it is proposed that they are based on the νh 11/2(g 7/2 d 5/2) and νh 11/2(s 1/2 d 3/2) configurations. We present new results of a relativistic quark model based on the Bethe-Salpeter equation in its instantaneous approximation. Assuming a linearly rising confinement potential with an appropriate spinorial structure in Dirac space and adopting a residual interaction based on instanton effects, we can compute masses of the light mesons up to highest observed angular momenta with a natural solution of the U A(1) problem. The calculated ground states masses and the radial excitations describe the experimental results well. In this paper, we will also discuss our results concerning numerous meson decay properties. For processes like π+/K +e +υeγ and 0-↦γγ at various photon virtualities, we find a good agreement with experimental data. We will also comment on the form factors of the K ?3 decay and on the decay constants of the π, K and η mesons. For the sake of completeness, we will furthermore present the electromagnetic form factors of the charged π and K mesons as well as a comparison of the radiative meson decay widths with the most recent experimental data. The reduced transition probability B(E2: 01 +→ 2+) of 72Zn has been measured for the first time by Coulomb excitation at intermediate energy. The result B(E2: 01 +→ 2+) = 1740±210 e2fm4, corresponds to the deformation parameter β2 of 0.23, in close agreement with expectations derived from the neighboring nucleus 73Zn. A discussion of the evolution of the N = 40 sub-shell closure as a function of Z is presented. Received: 19 December 2001 / Accepted: 14 March 2002  相似文献

Lifetimes of excited states in 110Cd have been measured by the Doppler shift attenuation method in the reaction (α,2nγ) at E α= 25 MeV. Lifetime values for 8 states and lifetime limits for 3 states were obtained. The band structures of 110Cd have been interpreted in terms of a modified version of the interacting boson model (IBM + 2 q.p.). The calculations explain well the excitation energies and electromagnetic transition probabilities up to J π= 16+, except for the 10+ 1 state. The structural features are discussed in terms of collective and two quasiparticle excitations. Received: 20 March 1999 / Revised version: 28 May 1999  相似文献

The lifetime of the first 2+ state in the nucleus 124Ba has been measured by γ-γ coincidence recoil-distance Doppler shift method. The 109Ag(19F, 4n)124Ba reaction at a beam energy of 75 MeV was employed to populate excited states in 124Ba. The mean lifetime was determined to be 275(12) ps using the differential decay curve method. The value of B(E2;01 +→ 21 +) for 124Ba deduced from the lifetime is in reasonable agreement with the prediction of the proton-neutron interacting boson model(IBM-2) without Pauli blocking effect. The nuclear reaction dynamics leading to the formation of recently discovered resonance in the mutual-02 + channel of the 12C+12C inelastic scattering around E c.m.≃ 32 MeV is studied in terms of the dynamic polarization potential (DPP) induced by the channel coupling among various excited states in 12C. The microscopic 3α cluster-model wave functions are used to generate the 12C−12C diagonal and coupling potentials in the double-folding model. It is found that DPP for the 02 ++ 02 + channel is an unusually strong attractive potential which even exceeds the zeroth-order folding-model potential of this channel around the nuclear surface region and that the strong coupling between the 02 + and 22 + states is predominantly responsible for the unusual DPP in this channel. The effective potential, the sum of the original folding-model potential and the attractive DPP, is found to generates resonance states in the same energy region as that of the resonance states generated by the original folding-model potential but the former states are found to be higher-nodal states having four additional radial nodes. Similar but more moderate property of DPP is also found in the entrance (elastic) channel. These results suggest that the reaction dynamics of generating the resonance in the 12C(02 +) +12C(02 +) channel may rather differ from that of the simple crossing of the zeroth-order molecular band generated by the potentials in the entrance and exit channels suggested by the standard band-crossing model. A chemically selective laser ion source has been used in a β-decay study of heavy Ag isotopes into even-even Cd nuclides. Gamma-spectroscopic techniques in time-resolving event-by-event and multiscaling modes have permitted the identification of the first 2+ and 4+ levels in 126Cd78, 128Cd80, and tentatively the 2+ state in 130Cd82. From a comparison of these new states in 48Cd with the E(2+) and E(4+)/E(2+) level systematics of 46Pd and 52Te isotopes and several recent model predictions, possible evidence for a weakening of the spherical N = 82 neutron-shell below double-magic 132Sn is obtained. The low spin states of 223Ra have been populated via α-decay from 227Th which was itself produced following β decay of an 227Ac source. α–γ and α−e K,L,M angular correlation measurements have been analysed using the correct ground state spins of 227Th(=1/2+) and 223Ra(=3/2+) for the first time. The analysis has allowed unique Jπ values to be assigned to almost all levels below 400 keV excitation in 223Ra. Values of (g Kg R)/Q 0 have been deduced for several members of the K= 3/2± bands (for the first time in an odd N nucleus in this mass region) allowing estimates of g K and g R to be extracted. The values of g K and g R are not significantly different for the positive and negative parity band members and tend to support other strong evidence that stable octupole deformation exists in 223Ra at low excitation energies. The isospin dependence of shell closure phenomena is studied for light neutron-rich nuclei within a microscopic self-consistent approach using the Gogny force. Introducing configuration mixing, 32Mg is found to be dynamically deformed, although the N = 20 spherical shell closure persists at the mean-field level for all N = 20 isotones. In contrast, the N = 28 spherical shell closure is found to disappear for N - Z≥ 10 whereas deformed shell closures are preserved and lead to shape coexistence in 44 S. Configuration mixing shows that the ground state of this nucleus is triaxially deformed. The first 2+ excitation energy Ex = 1.46 MeV and the reduced transition probability B(E2;0+ gs→ 2+ 1)= 420 e 2 fm 4 obtained with our approach are in good agreement with experimental data.
