We continue the investigation of (solvable) groups all proper subgroups of which are hypercyclic. The monolithic case is studied completely; in the nonmonolithic case, however, one should impose certain additional conditions. The non-commuting graph ΓG of a non-abelian group G is defined as follows. The vertex set of ΓG is GZ(G) where Z(G) denotes the center of G and two vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if xyyx. It has been conjectured that if G and H are two non-abelian finite groups such that ΓGΓH, then |G|=|H| and moreover in the case that H is a simple group this implies GH. In this paper, our aim is to prove the first part of the conjecture for all the finite non-abelian simple groups H. Then for certain simple groups H, we show that the graph isomorphism ΓGΓH implies GH.  相似文献

In the past thirty years, several kinds of quantitative characterizations of finite groups especially finite simple groups have been investigated by many mathematicians. Such as quantitative characterizations by group order and element orders, by element orders alone, by the set of sizes of conjugacy classes, by dimensions of irreducible characters, by the set of orders of maximal abelian subgroups and so on. Here the authors continue this topic in a new area tending to characterize finite simple groups with given orders by some special conjugacy class sizes, such as largest conjugacy class sizes, smallest conjugacy class sizes greater than 1 and so on.  相似文献

Conclusion The above theorems are sufficient to demonstrate the existence of antisymmetric mappings for all non-Abelian group of order less than 36, except for the group <a, b\a 3 =b 8 =e, ab =ba 2> of order 24, and this group can be shown to have one. We study finite groups G with elements g such that |C G (g)| = |G:G′|. (Such elements generalize fixed-point-free automorphisms of finite groups.)
