Pseudopeptidic receptors containing an acridine unit have been prepared and their fluorescence response to a series of amino acids was measured in water. Free amino acids, not protected either at the C or the N terminus, were used for this purpose. The prepared receptors display a selective response to tryptophan (Trp) versus the other assayed amino acids under acidic conditions. The macrocyclic nature of the receptor is important as the fluorescence quenching is higher for the macrocyclic compound than for the related open‐chain receptor. Notably, under the experimental acidic conditions used, both the receptor and guest are fully protonated and positively charged; thus, the experimental results suggest the formation of supramolecular species that contain two positively charged organic molecular components in proximity stabilized through aromatic–aromatic interactions and a complex set of cation‐anion‐cation interactions. The selectivity towards Trp seems to be based on the existence of a strong association between the indole ring of the monocharged amino acid and the acridinium fragment of the triprotonated form of the receptor, which is established to be assisted by the interaction of the cationic moieties with hydrogen sulfate anions.  相似文献

Binding studies of the tren-based amine, L (N,N',N' '-tris(2-benzylaminoethyl)amine), with inorganic anions and two crystal structures, [H(3)L][H(2)PO(4)](3).H(3)PO(4) and [H(3)L][Br](3), are reported. NMR titration results indicate that the ligand binds H(2)PO(4)(-) and HSO(4)(-) more strongly than NO(3)(-) and halides. In the crystal structure of the phosphate complex, the ligand is triprotonated with the three arms pointing outward in a trigonal-planar-like arrangement. Four phosphate species are associated with the receptor, and have been assigned as three H(2)PO(4)(-) counterions located between each of the tren arms, and an additional H(3)PO(4) molecule above the quasi-planar tren. The structure of the bromide complex is slightly different, although again the tren receptor is triprotonated and quasi-planar, but in this case C(2v)-like symmetry is seen with two of the arms pointed in the same direction with a bromide ion in between. The other two bromides lie outside of the tren arms.  相似文献

A new terphenyl based chemosensor 3 has been designed and synthesized. The binding behavior of 3 and its chemosensing ensemble 3-Hg toward various anions (F(-), Cl(-), Br(-), I(-), HSO(4)(-), H(2)PO(4)(-), CH(3)COO(-), NO(3)(-), N(3)(-), SO(4)(2-), SO(3)(2-), and Cr(2)O(7)(2-)) has been investigated by UV-Vis, fluorescence and NMR spectroscopy. Compound 3 shows a sensitivity for both F(-) and CH(3)COO(-) ions among various anions tested, whereas the ensemble 3-Hg shows a better selectivity for CH(3)COO(-) ions. The ensemble is utilized for CH(3)COO(-) recognition in a blood plasma like system.  相似文献

The binding behavior of triphenylene based copper ensemble prepared in situ has been investigated toward various anions (F(-), Cl(-), Br(-), I(-), CH(3)COO(-), H(2)PO(4)(-), NO(3)(-), OH(-), ClO(4)(-), CN(-), CO(3)(-) and SO(4)(-)) by UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. Among various anions tested, 1-Cu(2+) ensemble shows selective and sensitive response towards cyanide ions and responds to CN(-) ions even in the presence of bovine serum albumin and in blood serum milieu. Further, as practical application of compound 1, we utilized the TLC strips coated with THF solution of 1 for the solid state detection of copper and cyanide ions.  相似文献

A series of structurally novel anion receptors , , and in which a ferrocene unit and a fluorescent moiety are linked to two imidazolium rings have been designed and prepared from 1,1'-bis(imidazolylmethyl)ferrocene. Their crystal structures revealed that these receptors are capable of incorporating anions such as PF(6)(-) and Br(-). Consequently, the anion binding studies were carried out using various techniques including electrochemistry (CV and OSWV), fluorescence, UV-vis, and (1)H NMR spectroscopy. All the receptors showed a special electrochemical response to the F(-) anion with a remarkable cathodic shift of more than 260 mV and displayed a unique selectivity for F(-) and AcO(-) anions with fluorescence enhancement over various other anions of present interest (Cl(-), Br(-), I(-), HSO(4)(-), H(2)PO(4)(-)). In addition, for receptor , obvious absorption changes were observed when the H(2)PO(4)(-) anion was added while other anions (F(-), Cl(-), Br(-), I(-), AcO(-), HSO(4)(-)) showed only a minor influence on the UV-vis spectra. (1)H NMR titrations demonstrated that receptors and can bind anions through (C-H)(+)X(-) hydrogen bonds and showed strong affinity and high selectivity for the AcO(-) anion in acetonitrile.  相似文献

Five macrocycle-oxoanion adducts have been isolated from aqueous solutions containing 1,4,7,10,13,16-hexaazacyclooctadecane ([18]aneN(6), L) and phosphoric acid whose pH had been adjusted to selected values in the 1-8 range. Four products, (H(6)L)(H(2)PO(4))(6).2H(3)PO(4) (1), (H(6)L)(H(2)PO(4))(6) (2), (H(4)L)(H(2)PO(4))(4).2H(2)O (4), and (H(4)L)(HPO(4))(2).7H(2)O (5) crystallized from aqueous solutions at pH 1, 3, 6, and 8, respectively, while (H(4)L)(H(2)PO(4))(4) (3) crystallized on diffusion of EtOH into an aqueous reaction mixture at pH 6. Single-crystal X-ray structure determinations enabled an examination of supramolecular interactions between protonated forms of [18]aneN(6), phosphoric acid and its conjugate bases, and water of solvation. The macrocycle adopts a variety of conformations in order to accommodate the supramolecular constructs formed by the oxoanions and solvent molecules as the relative proportions of interacting species are altered. At pH 1 and 3, the fully protonated macrocycle, [LH(6)](6+), is found with six H(2)PO(4)(-) anions. At pH 6 and 8, the tetraprotonated macrocycle, [LH(4)](4+), crystallizes with four H(2)PO(4)(-) and two HPO(4)(2)(-), respectively. Variations in the solute of crystallization are evident, with phosphoric acid being present at the lowest pH and water at pH 6 and 8. In 5, the seven unique water molecules form a string-of-pearls motif within which a new heptameric isomer, consisting of a water pentamer that uses a single water to interact with the other two unique water molecules, is found. Structures 1, 2, 4, and 5 exhibit eta-3 H-bonding of ammonium protons to a single oxygen of the guest phosphates located above and below the macrocyclic ring. In 3, two phosphate oxygens of the cavity anion interact with the macrocycle, one of which participates in eta-2 H-bonding with ammonium groups.  相似文献

A tetraazamacrocycle containing ferrocene moieties has been synthesized and characterized. The tetraprotonated form of this compound was evaluated as a receptor (R) for anion recognition of several substrates (S), Cl(-), PF(6)(-), HSO(4)(-), H(2)PO(4)(-) and carboxylates, such as p-nitrobenzoate (p-nbz(-)), phthalate (ph(2-)), isophthalate (iph(2-)) and dipicolinate (dipic(2-)). (1)H NMR titrations in CD(3)OD indicated that this receptor is not suitable for recognizing HSO(4)(-) and H(2)PO(4)(-), but weakly binds p-nbz(-), and strongly interacts with ph(2-), dipic(2-), and iph(2-) anions forming 1 : 2 assembled species. The largest beta(2) binding constant was determined for ph(2-), followed by dipic(2-) and finally iph(2-). The effect of the anionic substrates on the electron-transfer process of the ferrocene units of R was evaluated using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square wave voltammetry (SWV) in methanol solution and 0.1 mol dm(-3)(CH(3))(4)NCl as the supporting electrolyte. Titrations of the receptor were undertaken by addition of anion solutions in their tetrabutylammonium or tetramethylammonium forms. The protonated ligand exhibits a reversible voltammogram, which shifts cathodically in the presence of the substrates. The data revealed kinetic constraints in the formation of the receptor/substrate entity for dipic(2-), ph(2-) and iph(2-) anions, but not for p-nbz(-). In spite of the slow kinetics of assembled species formation with the ph(2-) substrate, this anion provides the largest redox-response when the supramolecular entity is formed, followed by dipic(2-), iph(2-) and finally p-nbz(-) anions. This trend is in agreement with the (1)H NMR results and the values of the binding constants. Single crystal X-ray structures of the receptor with PF(6)(-), ph(2-), iph(2-) and p-nbz(-) were carried out and showed that supermolecules with a RS(2) stoichiometry are formed with the first three anions, but RS(4) with p-nbz(-). In all cases the binding occurs outside the macrocyclic cavity via N-H...O=C hydrogen bonds for carboxylate anions and N-H...F hydrogen bonds for the PF(6)(-) anion, which is in agreement with the solution results. The macrocyclic framework adopts different conformations in order to interact with each substrate having Fe...Fe intramolecular distances ranging from 10.125(14) to 12.783(15)A.  相似文献

A chemosensor bearing dipyrrolyl motifs as recognition sites and a tetrathiafulvalene redox tag has been evaluated as an optical and redox sensor for a series of anions (F(-), Cl(-), Br(-), HSO(4)(-), CH(3)COO(-), and H(2)PO(4)(-)) in DCM solution. The receptor shows specific optical signaling for fluoride but little electrochemical effect in solution. The solid-state performance of the sensor leads to measurable changes in water. Design implications towards better systems based on these results and other examples are discussed.  相似文献

A tripodal tris(urea) ligand with 2,2'-bipyridyl (bpy) substituents (L) has been designed and synthesized, which coordinates with three equivalents of Ru(bpy)(2)Cl(2)·2H(2)O, followed by treatment with NH(4)PF(6), to afford the anion receptor [(bpy)(6)Ru(3)L](PF(6))(6) (1). The anion-binding behavior of the ligand L and the Ru(II)-bpy functionalized receptor 1 toward different anions was investigated by (1)H NMR (for L and 1), fluorescence, and UV-vis spectroscopy (for 1). Both compounds showed selective recognition of SO(4)(2-) or H(2)PO(4)(-) ions in the 1:1 binding mode in the NMR studies. The Ru(II) complex 1 displayed the metal-to-ligand charge transfer emission at 600 nm, which was quenched on addition of the sulfate and dihydrogen phosphate ions. Quantitative fluorescence titration experiments were carried out and the stability constants (log K) of the complex 1 with SO(4)(2-) and H(2)PO(4)(-) ions were obtained to be 4.73 and 4.69 M(-1) (1:1 binding mode), respectively.  相似文献

A tren-based tris(thiourea) receptor, L with electron-withdrawing p-nitrophenyl terminals has been established as a competent hydrogen-bonding scaffold that can selectively encapsulate PO(4)(3-) within persistent and rigid dimeric capsules, assembled by aromatic π-stacking interactions between the receptor side-arms. A quaternary ammonium salt of PO(4)(3-) capsules (complexes 1 and 1b, 2:1 host-guest) can reproducibly be obtained in quantitative yields by a solution-state deprotonation of [HL](+) moieties and a bound HPO(4)(2-) anion of complex 1a (HPO(4)(2-) complex of protonated L, 2:1 host-guest), induced by the presence of a large excess of anions such as HCO(3)(-), CH(3)CO(2)(-), and F(-). Qualitative as well as quantitative (1)H and (31)P NMR experiments (DMSO-d(6)) have been carried out in detail to demonstrate the selective and preferential inclusion of PO(4)(3-) by L in solution-states. Competitive crystallization experiments performed in the presence of an excess of anions such as HCO(3)(-), HSO(4)(-), CH(3)CO(2)(-), NO(3)(-) and halides (F(-) and Cl(-)) further establish the phenomenon of selective PO(4)(3-) encapsulation as confirmed by (1)H NMR, (31)P NMR, FT-IR and powder X-ray diffraction patterns of the isolated crystals. X-ray structural analyses and (31)P NMR studies of the isolated crystals of phosphate complexes (1, 1a and 1b) provide evidence of the binding discrepancy of inorganic phosphates with protonated and neutral form of L. Furthermore, extensive studies have been carried out with other anions of different sizes and dimensions in solid- and solution-states (complexes 2a, 3, 4 and 5). Crystal structure elucidation revealed the formation of a solvent (DMSO) sealed unimolecular capsule in the F(-) encapsulated complex, 2a (1:1 host-guest), a CO(3)(2-) encapsulated centrosymmetric molecular capsule in 3 (2:1 host-guest) and a cation (tetrabutylammonium) sealed SO(4)(2-) encapsulated unimolecular capsule in 4 (1:1 host-guest). 2D-NOESY NMR experiments carried out on these capsule complexes further confirm the relevant binding stoichiometry of complexes (2a-4) except for the PO(4)(3-)-encapsulated complex (1b) which showed a 1:1 host-guest stoichiometry in solution.  相似文献

[structure: see text] Ferrocene compounds bearing multiple amido groups selectively bind with the H(2)PO(4)(-) ion over other anions. The one-arm receptors form 1:1 complexes with the H(2)PO(4)(-) ion, whereas the two-arm receptors can accommodate two H(2)PO(4)(-) ions. The complexation modes and binding strengths are deduced from the NMR, calorimetry, fluorescence, and cyclic voltammetry studies. The two-arm ferrocene hexamide receptors likely exist in synclinal conformations to incorporate tetrahydrofuran molecules and H(2)PO(4)(-) ions.  相似文献

When the amide-containing receptor 1(+) is in a solution of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) in the presence of basic anions (CH(3)COO(-), F(-), H(2)PO(4) (-)), it undergoes deprotonation of the -NH fragment to give the corresponding zwitterion, which can be isolated as a crystalline solid. In the presence of less basic anions (Cl(-), Br(-), NO(3) (-)), 1(+) establishes true hydrogen-bond interactions of decreasing intensity. The less acidic receptor 2(+) undergoes neat proton transfer with only the more basic anions CH(3)COO(-) and F(-), and establishes hydrogen-bond interactions with H(2)PO(4) (-). An empirical criterion for discerning neutralisation and hydrogen bonding, based on UV/Vis and (1)H NMR spectra, is proposed.  相似文献

Binding and structural aspects of anions with tetraamido/diquaternized diamino macrocyclic receptors containing m-xylyl, pyridine, and thiophene spacers are reported. (1)H NMR studies indicate that the quaternized receptors display higher affinities for anions compared to corresponding neutral macrocycles. The macrocycles containing pyridine spacers consistently display higher affinity for a given anion compared to those with either m-xylyl or thiophene spacers. The m-xylyl- and pyridine-containing receptors exhibit high selectivity for H(2)PO(4)(-) in DMSO-d(6) with association constants, K(a) = 1.09 × 10(4) and >10(5) M(-1), respectively, and moderate selectivity for Cl(-) with K(a) = 1.70 × 10(3) and 5.62 × 10(4) M(-1), respectively. Crystallographic studies for the Cl(-) and HSO(4)(-) complexes indicate that the m-xylyl-containing ligand is relatively elliptical in shape, with the two charges at ends of the major axis of the ellipse. The anions are hydrogen bonded with the macrocycle but are outside the ligand cavity. In the solid state, an unusual low-barrier hydrogen bond (LBHB) was discovered between two of the macrocycle's carbonyl oxygen atoms in the HSO(4)(-) complex. The pyridine-containing macrocycle folds so that the two pyridine units are face-to-face. The two I(-) ions are chelated to the two amides adjacent to a given pyridine. In the structure of the thiophene containing macrocycle with two BPh(4)(-) counterions, virtually no interaction was observed crystallographically between the macrocycle and the bulky anions.  相似文献

Newly synthesised fluorescent chemosensor ADDTU contains the thiourea receptor connected to the acridinedione (ADD) fluorophore via a covalent bond, giving rise to a fluorophore-receptor motif. In this fluorescent chemosensor, the anion recognition takes place at the receptor site which result in the concomitant changes in the photophysical properties of a ADD fluorophore by modulation of photoinduced electron transfer (PET) process. The binding ability of these sensor with the anions F(-), Cl(-), Br(-), I(-), HSO(4)(-), ClO(4)(-), AcO(-), H(2)PO(4)(-) and BF(4)(-) (as their tetrabutylammounium salts) in acetonitrile were investigated using UV-vis, steady state and time-resolved emission techniques. ADDTU system allows for the selective fluorescent sensing of AcO(-), H(2)PO(4)(-) and F(-) over other anions in acetonitrile.  相似文献

Reactions of 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-1,4,7-triyl-tris(methylenephosphonic acid) [notpH(6), C(9)H(18)N(3)(PO(3)H(2))3] with different lanthanide salts result in four types of Ln-notp compounds: [Ln{C(9)H(20)N(3)(PO(3)H)(2)(PO(3))}(NO(3))(H(2)O)].4H2O (1), [Ln = Eu (1 Eu), Gd (1 Gd), Tb (1 Tb)], [Ln{C(9)H(20)N(3)(PO(3)H)(2)(PO(3))}(H2O)]Cl.3H2O (2) [Ln = Eu (2 Eu), Gd (2 Gd), Tb (2 Tb)], [Ln{C(9)H(20)N(3)(PO(3)H)(2)(PO(3))}(H2O)]ClO4.8H2O, (3) [Ln = Eu (3 Eu), Gd (3 Gd)], and [Ln{C(9)H(20)N(3)(PO(3)H)(2)(PO(3))}(H2O)]ClO4.3H2O (4), [Ln = Gd (4 Gd), Tb (4 Tb)]. Compounds within each type are isostructural. In compounds 1, dimers of {Ln2(notpH4)2(NO3)2(H2O)2} are found, in which the two lanthanide atoms are connected by two pairs of O-P-O and one pair of mu-O bridges. The NO3- ion serves as a bidentate terminal ligand. Compounds 2 contain similar dimeric units of {Ln2(notpH4)2(H2O)2} that are further connected by a pair of O-P-O bridges into an alternating chain. The Cl- ions are involved in the interchain hydrogen-bonding networks. A similar chain structure is also found in compounds 3; in this case, however, the chains are linked by ClO4- counterions through hydrogen-bonding interactions, forming an undulating layer in the (011) plane. These layers are fused through hydrogen-bonding interactions, leading to a three-dimensional supramolecular network with large channels in the [100] direction. Compounds 4 show an interesting brick-wall-like layer structure in which the neighboring lanthanide atoms are connected by a pair of O-P-O bridges. The ClO4- counterions and the lattice water molecules are between the layers. In all compounds the triazamacrocyclic nitrogen atoms are not coordinated to the Ln(III) ions. The anions and the pH are believed to play key roles in directing the formation of a particular structure. The fluorescence spectroscopic properties of the Eu and Tb compounds, magnetic properties of the Gd compounds, and the catalytic properties of 4 Gd were also studied.  相似文献

An effective anion sensor, [Ru(II)(bpy)(2)(H(2)L(-))](+) (1(+)), based on a redox and photoactive {Ru(II)(bpy)(2)} moiety and a new ligand (H(3)L = 5-(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-yl)-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylic acid), has been developed for selective recognition of fluoride (F(-)) and acetate (OAc(-)) ions. Crystal structures of the free ligand, H(3)L and [1](ClO(4)) reveal the existence of strong intramolecular and intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions. The structure of [1](ClO(4)) shows that the benzimidazole N-H of H(2)L(-) is hydrogen bonded with the pendant carboxylate oxygen while the imidazole N-H remains free for possible hydrogen bonding interaction with the anions. The potential anion sensing features of 1(+) have been studied by different experimental and theoretical (DFT) investigations using a wide variety of anions, such as F(-), Cl(-), Br(-), I(-), HSO(4)(-), H(2)PO(4)(-), OAc(-) and SCN(-). Cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry established that 1(+) is an excellent electrochemical sensor for the selective recognition of F(-) and OAc(-) anions. 1(+) is also found to be a selective colorimetric sensor for F(-) or OAc(-) anions where the MLCT band of the receptor at 498 nm is red shifted to 538 nm in the presence of one equivalent of F(-) or OAc(-) with a distinct change in colour from reddish-orange to pink. The binding constant between 1(+) and F(-) or OAc(-) has been determined to be logK = 7.61 or 7.88, respectively, based on spectrophotometric titration in CH(3)CN. The quenching of the emission band of 1(+) at 716 nm (λ(ex) = 440 nm, Φ = 0.01 at 298 K in CH(3)CN) in the presence of one equivalent of F(-) or OAc(-), as well as two distinct lifetimes of the quenched and unquenched forms of the receptor 1(+), makes it also a suitable fluorescence-based sensor. All the above experiments, in combination with (1)H NMR, suggest the formation of a 1:1 adduct between the receptor (1(+)) and the anion (F(-) or OAc(-)). The formation of 1:1 adduct {[1(+)·F(-)] or [1(+)·OAc(-)]} has been further evidenced by in situ ESI-MS(+) in CH(3)CN. Though the receptor, 1(+), is comprised of two N-H protons associated with the coordinated H(2)L(-) ligand, only the free imidazole N-H proton participates in the hydrogen bonding interactions with the incoming anions, while the intramolecularly hydrogen bonded benzimidazole N-H proton remains intact as evidenced by the crystal structure of the final product (1). The hydrogen bond mediated anion sensing mechanism, over the direct deprotonation pathway, in 1(+) has been further justified by a DFT study and subsequent NBO analysis.  相似文献

A new fluorescent receptor for anions has been synthesized by the combination of BODIPY dye and indole moiety. The binding and sensing abilities of receptor toward various anions have been studied by absorption, emission and (1)H NMR titrations spectroscopies. Receptor could act as a highly selective "Off-On" fluorescent sensor for hydrogen sulfate anion in CH(3)CN solvent and CH(3)CN-H(2)O medium. The fluorescence response of receptor toward HSO(4)(-) in CH(3)CN solvent could be due to the suppressed PET (photo-induced electron transfer) process induced by the multiple hydrogen bonding interactions between receptor and HSO(4)(-). In CH(3)CN-H(2)O medium, the HSO(4)(-)-induced change is mainly the consequence of a simple protonation of the CH[double bond, length as m-dash]N- moiety of receptor , which inhibited the PET process and "turned on" the fluorescence of .  相似文献
