Two new red-degraded bands in the room-temperature vacuum-ultraviolet absorption spectrum of carbon monoxide have been identified in the 94,000-94,500 cm(-1) energy region and analyzed. One of the bands at approximately 94,225 cm(-1) (106.1 nm) has three observable bandheads and is partially overlapped with the strong C 1Sigma+-X 1Sigma+ (1-0) transition at lower energy. It is assigned to the c 3Pi-X 1Sigma+ (1-0) transition. The other band at approximately 94,437 cm(-1) (105.9 nm) with one clear bandhead is assigned to the k 3Pi-X 1Sigma+ (5-0) transition. A strong homogeneous perturbation was found to exist between the two upper states that strongly influences the line positions and shapes of these bands. A rotational deperturbation analysis was performed and molecular rotational constants for both upper states were determined. These deperturbed molecular constants are entirely consistent with the expected values for the k 3Pi valence and c 3Pi Rydberg states. The Hamiltonian interaction term between these two states is found to be separable into vibrational and electronic factors and the electronic factor is determined to be H(e)=323+/-40 cm(-1). A discrepancy in the literature regarding the location of the c 3Pi (v=1) state is identified and discussed.  相似文献

The first well resolved (1+1)-photodissociation spectra of molecular ions are presented. By separating the spectroscopic step (first photon) and the dissociation step (second photon) we could extend the accessible spectral region of CH3I+ and CD3I+ considerably. The ions are prepared in the vibrationless ground state by MPI in a supersonic molecular beam. A new detection technique is presented with high discrimination between wanted and unwanted ionic species. Furthermore, another new technique for unimolecular decay measurements delivers useful information for the assignment of the ion spectra. We found an improved assignment for CH3I+ and CD3I+ with consequences for molecular constants.  相似文献

We have measured the hyperfine structure of mutually perturbing rovibrational levels of the 1(b) 3Pi0 and 2(A) 1Sigma+ states of the NaK molecule, using the perturbation-facilitated optical-optical double resonance method with copropagating lasers. The unperturbed 1(b) 3Pi0 levels are split into four hyperfine components by the Fermi contact interaction bFIS. Mixing between the 1(b) 3Pi0 and 2(A) 1Sigma+ levels imparts hyperfine structure to the nominally singlet component of the perturbed levels and reduces the hyperfine splitting of the nominally triplet component. Theoretical analysis relates these observations to the hyperfine splitting that each 1(b) 3Pi0 level would have if it were not perturbed by a 2(A) 1Sigma+ level. Using this analysis, we demonstrate that significant hyperfine splitting arises because the 1(b) 3Pi0 state cannot be described as pure Hund's case (a). We determine bF for the 1(b) 3Pi0 levels and also a more accurate value for the magnitude of the singlet-triplet spin-orbit coupling HSO=[1(b) 3Pi0(vb,J)(H(SO))2(A) 1Sigma+(vA,J). Using the known spectroscopic constants of the 1(b) 3Pi state, we obtain bF=0.009 89+/-0.000 27 cm(-1). The values of (H(SO)) are found to be between 2 and 3 cm(-1), depending on vb, vA, and J. Dividing (H(SO)) by calculated vibrational overlap integrals, and taking account of the 1(b) 3Pi(Omega) rotational mixing, we can determine the magnitude of the electronic part H(el) of H(SO). Our results yield (H(el))=(16.33+/-0.15) cm(-1), consistent with our previous determinations using different techniques.  相似文献

We have recorded spectra involving the 3-1, 4-2, 2-0, and 2-2 bands of the C" 5Pi(ui)-A' (5)Sigma+(g) electronic system of N(2) using optogalvanic detection in a discharge through a supersonic jet expansion of argon mixed with a trace of nitrogen gas. The spectra have an effective rotational temperature of about 45 K. They involve all five spin-orbit components of the C" 5Pi(ui) state, which has allowed for precise determination of the spin-orbit coupling in this state. Analysis of the C" 5Pi(ui) state Lambda-doubling shows that it is caused primarily by a first-order spin-spin effect rather than by interaction with Sigma(u) (+/-) states. Our results allow us to assign lines in the 4-2 and 2-0 bands observed in a fluorescence depletion experiment conducted over ten years ago [Ch. Ottinger and A. F. Vilesov, J. Chem. Phys. 103, 9929 (1995)], and to comment on the suggestion that perturbations to the C (3)Pi(u) v=1 level of N(2) arise from interactions with the C" 5Pi(ui) state.  相似文献

Energy transfer effects on dicarbon (C2) d3Pi(g) <-- a3Pi(u) laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) spectra in fuel-rich acetylene atmospheric-pressure flames have been studied using a combination of two different two-dimensional techniques. Measurements using a picosecond laser system in conjunction with a streak camera allowed determination of typical fluorescence lifetimes of levels in the d state and of population changes introduced by rotational energy transfer (RET) and by state-dependent quenching. Excitation-emission spectroscopy yielded two-dimensional maps containing all excitation and all emission spectra in the spectral ranges between 19 340 and 20 150 cm(-1) (excitation) and from 546 to 573 nm (emission) and allowed unambiguous assignment of all transitions in this spectral region. Our measurements show a comparatively long quenching lifetime (around 2 ns) and dominant effects of energy transfer on shape and intensity of the acquired spectra (90% of the fluorescence stems from levels populated by ET). A pronounced dependence of the total RET on the quantum number of the initially excited state is observed. Vibrational energy transfer (VET) is significantly weaker (only 5% contribution for excitation in the v' = 1 level). Implications for quantitative concentration measurements are discussed, and exemplary spatially resolved profiles in a well-characterized low-pressure propene flame are presented.  相似文献

A two-dimensional fluorescence (excitation/emission) spectrum of C2 produced in an acetylene discharge was used to identify and separate emission bands from the d (3)Pi(g)<--c (3)Sigma(u) (+) and d (3)Pi(g)<--a (3)Pi(u) excitations. Rotationally resolved excitation spectra of the (4<--1), (5<--1), (5<--2), and (7<--3) bands in the d (3)Pi(g)<--c (3)Sigma(u) (+) system of C2 were observed by laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy. The molecular constants of each vibrational level, determined from rotational analysis, were used to calculate the spectroscopic constants of the c (3)Sigma(u) (+) state. The principal molecular constants for the c (3)Sigma(u) (+) state are B(e)=1.9319(19) cm(-1), alpha(e)=0.018 55(69) cm(-1), omega(e)=2061.9 cm(-1), omega(e)x(e)=14.84 cm(-1), and T(0)(c-a)=8662.925(3) cm(-1). We report also the first experimental observations of dispersed fluorescence from the d (3)Pi(g) state to the c (3)Sigma(u) (+) state, namely, d (3)Pi(g)(v=3)-->c (3)Sigma(u) (+)(v=0,1).  相似文献

It is shown by mass-analyzed ion kinetic energy spectrometry that the metastably decomposing molecular ions of octopamine (p-HOC6H4CH(OH)CH2NH2) and synephrine (p-HOC6H4CH(OH)CH2NHCH3) yield only protonated methylamine and dimethylamine, respectively, as product ions. From deuterium labeling and variation of the internal energy of the molecular ions, experimental support has been obtained that these product ions are generated via the occurrence of a distonic ion-neutral complex. In the case of octopamine, this complex would consist of a nitrogen-protonated aminomethyl radical and p-hydroxylbenzaldehyde in which the former species abstracts the aldehydic or phenolic hydrogen atom from the latter to give protonated dimethylamine.  相似文献

The photodissociation spectroscopy and dynamics resulting from excitation of the B (2)A(")<--X (2)A(") transition of CH(2)CFO have been examined using fast beam photofragment translational spectroscopy. The photofragment yield spectrum reveals vibrationally resolved structure between 29 870 and 38 800 cm(-1), extending approximately 6000 cm(-1) higher in energy than previously reported in a laser-induced fluorescence excitation spectrum. At all photon energies investigated, only the CH(2)F+CO and HCCO+HF fragment channels are observed. Both product channels yield photofragment translational energy distributions that are characteristic of a decay mechanism with a barrier to dissociation. Using the barrier impulsive model, it is shown that fragmentation to CH(2)F+CO products occurs on the ground state potential energy surface with the isomerization barrier between CH(2)CFO and CH(2)FCO governing the observed translational energy distributions.  相似文献

The dissociation dynamics of Sn(CH(3))(4)(+), Sn(CH(3))(3)Cl(+), and Sn(CH(3))(3)Br(+) were investigated by threshold photoelectron photoion spectrometry using an electron imaging apparatus (iPEPICO) at the Swiss Light Source. The tetramethyltin ion was found to dissociate via Sn(CH(3))(4)(+) → Sn(CH(3))(3)(+) + CH(3) → Sn(CH(3))(2)(+) + 2CH(3), while the trimethyltin halide ions dissociated via methyl loss at low energies, and a competitive halogen loss at somewhat higher energies. The 0 K methyl loss onset for the three ions was found to be 9.410 ± 0.020 eV, 10.058 ± 0.020 eV, and 9.961 ± 0.020 eV, respectively. Statistical theory could not reproduce the observed onsets for the halogen loss steps in the halotrimethyltin ions. The halide loss signal as a function energy mimicked the excited state threshold photoelectron spectrum, from which we conclude that the halide loss from these ions takes place on an isolated excited state potential energy surface, which we describe by time dependent density functional calculations. The sequential loss of a second methyl group in the Sn(CH(3))(4)(+) ion, observed at about 3 eV higher energies than the first one, is also partially non-statistical. The derived product energy distribution resulting from the loss of the first methyl group is two-component with about 50% being statistical and the remainder associated with high translational energy products that peak at 2 eV. Time dependent DFT calculations show that a dissociative ?B state lies in the vicinity of the experimental measurements. We thus propose that 50% of the Sn(CH(3))(4)(+) ions produced in this energy range internally convert to the ?X state, on which they dissociate statistically, while the remainder dissociate directly from the repulsive ?B state leading to high kinetic energy products.  相似文献

Energy selected trimethyl phosphine ions were prepared by threshold photoelectron photoion coincidence (TPEPICO) spectroscopy. This ion dissociates via H, CH(3), and CH(4) loss, the latter two involving hydrogen transfer steps. The ion time-of-flight distribution and the breakdown diagram are analyzed in terms of the statistical RRKM theory, which includes tunneling. Ab initio and DFT calculations provide the vibrational frequencies required for the RRKM modeling. CH(3) loss could produce both the P(CH(3))(2)(+) by a simple bond dissociation step, and the more stable HP(CH(2))CH(3)(+) ion by a hydrogen transfer step. Quantum chemical calculations are extensively used to uncover the reaction scheme, and they strongly suggest that the latter product is exclusively formed via an isomerization step in the energy range of the experiment. The data analysis, which includes modeling with the trimethyl phosphine thermal energy distribution, provides accurate onset energies for both H (E(0K) = 1024.1 +/- 3.5 kJ/mol) and CH(3) (E(0K) = 1024.8 +/- 3.5 kJ/mol) loss reactions. From this analysis, we conclude that the Delta(f)H(298K) degrees [HP(CH(2))(CH(3))(+)] = 783 +/- 8 kJ/mol and Delta(f)H(298K) degrees [P(CH(2))(CH(3))(2)(+)] = 711 +/- 8 kJ/mol.  相似文献

A new band system of C(2), d (3)Pi(g)<--c (3)Sigma(u) (+) is observed by laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy, constituting the first direct detection of the c (3)Sigma(u) (+) state of C(2). Observations were made by laser excitation of c (3)Sigma(u) (+)(v(")=0) C(2), produced in an acetylene discharge, to the d (3)Pi(g)(v(')=3) level, followed by detection of Swan band fluorescence. Rotational analysis of this band yielded rotational constants for the c (3)Sigma(u) (+)(v(")=0) state: B(0)=1.9218(2) cm(-1), lambda(0)=-0.335(4) cm(-1) and gamma(0)=0.011(2) cm(-1). The vibrational band origin was determined to be nu(3-0)=15861.28 cm(-1).  相似文献

Electronic structure, charge distributions and vibrational characteristics of CH3 O(CH2 CH2 O) n CH3 (n=3-7) have been derived using the ab initio Hartree Fock and density functional calculations. For tri- to hexaglymes the lowest energy conformers have trans- conformation around the C-C and C-O bonds of the backbone. For heptaglyme (n=7 in the series), however, gauche-conformation around the C-C bonds renders more stability to the conformer and turns out to be 10.1 kJ mol −1 lower in energy relative to the conformer having trans-orientation around the C-C and C-O bonds. The molecular electrostatic potential topographical investigations reveal deeper minima for the ether oxygen in conformers having the gauche conformation around the C-C bonds over those for the trans- conformers. A change from trans- to gauche-conformation around the C-C bonds of the lowest energy conformer of heptaglyme engenders a triplet of intense bands ∼1,150 cm −1 in the vibrational spectra. Theoretical calculations predict that Li + binds strongly to the heptaglyme conformer in the above series. The frequency shifts in the vibrational spectra of CH3O(CH2CH2O) n CH3- Li+ (n=3-7) conformers have been discussed  相似文献

The photodissociation of methyl iodide in the A band is studied by full-dimensional (9D) wave packet dynamics calculations using the multiconfigurational time-dependent Hartree approach. The potential energy surfaces employed are based on the diabatic potentials of Xie et al. [J. Phys. Chem. A 2000, 104, 1009] and the vertical excitation energy is taken from recent ab initio calculations [Alekseyev et al. J. Chem. Phys.2007, 126, 234102]. The absorption spectrum calculated for exclusively parallel excitation agrees well with the experimental spectrum of the A band. The electronic population dynamics is found to be strongly dependent on the motion in the torsional coordinate related to the H(3)-C-I bend, which presumably is an artifact of the diabatic model employed. The calculated fully product state-selected partial spectra can be interpreted based on the reflection principle and suggests strong coupling between the C-I stretching and the H(3)-C-I bending motions during the dissociation process. The computed rotational and vibrational product distributions typically reproduce the trends seen in the experiment. In agreement with experiment, a small but significant excitation of the total symmetric stretching and the asymmetric bending modes of the methyl fragment can be seen. In contrast, the umbrella mode of the methyl is found to be too highly excited in the calculated distributions.  相似文献

Fluorescence excitation spectra produced through photoexcitation of N(2) using synchrotron radiation in the spectral region between 80 and 100 nm have been studied. Two broadband detectors were employed to simultaneously monitor fluorescence in the 115-320 nm and 300-700 nm regions, respectively. The peaks in the vacuum ultraviolet fluorescence excitation spectra are found to correspond to excitation of absorption transitions from the ground electronic state to the b (1)Pi(u), b(') (1)Sigma(u) (+), c(n) (1)Pi(u) (with n=4-8), c(n) (') (1)Sigma(u) (+) (with n=5-9), and c(4) (')(v('))(1)Sigma(u) (+) (with v(')=0-8) states of N(2). The relative fluorescence production cross sections for the observed peaks are determined. No fluorescence has been produced through excitation of the most dominating absorption features of the b-X transition except for the (1,0), (5,0), (6,0), and (7,0) bands, in excellent agreement with recent lifetime measurements and theoretical calculations. Fluorescence peaks, which correlate with the long vibrational progressions of the c(4) (') (1)Sigma(u) (+) (with v(')=0-8) and the b(') (1)Sigma(u) (+) (with v(') up to 19), have been observed. The present results provide important information for further unraveling of complicated and intriguing interactions among the excited electronic states of N(2). Furthermore, solar photon excitation of N(2) leading to the production of c(4) (')(0) may provide useful data required for evaluating and analyzing dayglow models relevant to the interpretation of c(4) (')(0) in the atmospheres of Earth, Jupiter, Saturn, Titan, and Triton.  相似文献

The possible structures and isomerizations of H2C=C(OH)Li are studied theoretically by the gradient analytical method at RHF/6-31+G level. According to these results, reactions of H2C=C(OH)Li with CH3 + and CH 3 - are investigated thoroughly. When H2C=C(OH)Li reacts with CH 3 + , HzC=C(OH)Li firstly changes from structure1 to structure4, and then combines with CH3 +. In this reaction, the configuration of central carbon is retained. When H2C=C(OH)Li reacts with CH 3 - , structure1 firstly breaks its C-O bond to give contact ion-pair. Then through transition state16 which is similar to structure2, the attack of CH 3 - from the opposite side of-OH replaces-OH group and inverts the configuration of carbenoid carbon atom. All the results show that the ambident reactivity of carbenoid has close relationship with the stability of special structures. Nonadiabatic theory of molecular spectra of diatomic molecules is presented. It is shown that in the fully nonadiabatic framework, the rovibrational wave functions describing the nuclear motions in diatomic molecules can be obtained from a system of coupled differential equations. The rovibrational wave functions corresponding to various electronic states are coupled through the relativistic spin-orbit coupling interaction and through different radial and angular coupling terms, while the transition intensities can be written in terms of the ground state rovibrational wave function and bound rovibrational wave functions of all excited electronic states that are electric dipole connected with the ground state. This theory was applied in the nearly exact nonadiabatic calculations of energy levels, line positions, and intensities of the calcium dimer in the A (1)Sigma(u) (+)(1 (1)S+1 (1)D), c (3)Pi(u)(1 (3)P+1 (1)S), and a (3)Sigma(u) (+)(1 (3)P+1 (1)S) manifolds of states. The excited state potentials were computed using a combination of the linear response theory within the coupled-cluster singles and doubles framework for the core-core and core-valence electronic correlations and of the full configuration interaction for the valence-valence correlation, and corrected for the one-electron relativistic terms resulting from the first-order many-electron Breit theory. The electric transition dipole moment governing the A (1)Sigma(u) (+)<--X (1)Sigma(g) (+) transitions was obtained as the first residue of the frequency-dependent polarization propagator computed with the coupled-cluster method restricted to single and double excitations, while the spin-orbit and nonadiabatic coupling matrix elements were computed with the multireference configuration interaction wave functions restricted to single and double excitations. Our theoretical results explain semiquantitatively all the features of the observed Ca(2) spectrum in the A (1)Sigma(u) (+)(1 (1)S+1 (1)D), c (3)Pi(u)(1 (3)P+1 (1)S), and a (3)Sigma(u) (+)(1 (3)P+1 (1)S) manifolds of states.  相似文献

Dissociation and ionization processes in dimethyl disulfide, CH(3)S(2)CH(3), induced by one- or two-photon absorption of 193 nm light, have been studied using velocity-map ion imaging. The analysis of the ion images of the CH(3)S(2) (+), CH(3)S(+), S(2) (+), and S(+) fragments has allowed the characterization of the scattering dynamics of some of the main photolysis and dissociative-ionization processes. In particular, the experiments corroborate the formation of electronically excited SCH(3)((2)A(1)) products in the 193 nm photodissociation of dimethyl disulfide seen in earlier studies, and show that laser ionization provides a very sensitive method for their detection. The data have also allowed determination of the recoil energy and angular distributions of the CH(3)S(2) (+) and CH(3)S(+) products of the two-photon dissociative-ionization of the CH(3)S(2)CH(3) molecule. The measured distributions for these products are consistent with the formation of a transient parent ion which dissociates after a substantial intramolecular rearrangement, possibly yielding the most stable isomeric forms of the fragments, namely CH(2)S(2)H(+) and CH(2)SH(+).  相似文献

The reactions of Cl with a series of linear alcohols: methanol (k1), ethanol (k2), 1-propanol (k3), 1-butanol (k4), and 1-pentanol (k5) were investigated as a function of temperature in the range of 264-382 K by laser photolysis-resonance fluorescence. The obtained kinetic data were used to derive the following Arrhenius expressions: k1=(3.55+/-0.22)x10(-10) exp[-(559+/-40)T], k2=(5.25+/-0.52)x10(-11) exp[(190+/-68)T], k3=(2.63+/-0.21)x10(-11) exp[(525+/-51)T], k4=(3.12+/-0.31)x10(-11) exp[(548+/-65)T], and k5=(3.97+/-0.48)x10(-11) exp[(533+/-77)T] (in units of cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1)). To our knowledge, these are the first absolute kinetic data reported for 1-butanol and 1-pentanol and also the first kinetic study as a function of temperature for these two compounds. Results, mechanism, and tropospheric implications are discussed and compared with the reported reactivity with OH radicals. Moreover, a theoretical insight into the mechanisms of these reactions has also been pursued through ab initio M?ller-Plesset second-order perturbation treatment calculations with 6-311G** basis sets. Optimized geometries and vibrational frequencies have been obtained for transition states and molecular complexes appearing along the different reaction pathways. Furthermore, molecular energies have been calculated at quadratic configuration interaction with single, double, and triple excitations level in order to get an estimation of the activation energies.  相似文献
