Ultrathin chromium oxide films were prepared on a W(100) surface under ultrahigh-vacuum conditions and investigated in situ by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy, and low-energy electron diffraction. The results show that, at Cr coverage of less than 1 monolayer, CrO2 is formed by oxidizing pre-deposited Cr at 300-320 K in approximately 10(-7) mbar oxygen. However, an increase of temperature causes formation of Cr2O3. At Cr coverage above 1 monolayer, only Cr2O3 is detected.  相似文献

The structure and surface composition of binary oxides consisting of CrO(x) and VO(x) dispersed on alumina and their effects on the rate and selectivity of oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of propane were examined and compared with those for CrO(x) and VO(x) dispersed on alumina. VO(x) deposition on an equivalent CrO(x) monolayer on alumina and deposition of CrO(x) on an equivalent monolayer of VO(x) deposited on alumina led to CrVO(4) species during thermal treatment with concomitant reduction of Cr(6+) to Cr(3+). Autoreduction of Cr(6+) to Cr(3+) is also detected for CrO(x), even without the presence of VO(x). Infrared spectroscopy of NO adsorbed at 153 K probes the relative abundance of alumina and of V(5+), Cr(3+), and Cr(6+) at surfaces. This technique detects differences in the surface composition of VO(x)/CrO(x)()/Al(2)O(3) and CrO(x)/VO(x)/Al(2)O(3). The first of these samples is enriched in VO(x) relative to CrO(x) compared with the second sample. Consistent with this finding, VO(x)/CrO(x)/Al(2)O(3) and CrO(x)/VO(x)/Al(2)O(3) are distinguishable in their ODH activities and propene selectivities. The highest ODH activity and propene selectivity is observed for VO(x)/CrO(x)/Al(2)O(3), which exhibits a surface enriched in VO(x) and having a low surface concentration of Cr(6+).  相似文献

Sr(3)CaRu(2)O(9), a new 2:1 B-site ordered perovskite ruthenate, was synthesized and its structure determined based on powder X-ray, neutron and electron diffraction data. It is composed of one layer of CaO(6) alternating with two layers of RuO(6) perpendicular to the [111] axis of the cubic perovskite structure. The ordering leads to a [-Ru-Ru-Ca-] repeat unit along each of the pseudocubic directions. Sr(3)CaRu(2)O(9) is the first example of this structure-type to include a majority metal with d electrons (Ru(V), d(3)). Three-dimensional Sr(3)CaRu(2)O(9) can be transformed to the layered Ruddlesden-Popper phase Sr(1.5)Ca(0.5)RuO(4) (i.e., Sr(3)CaRu(2)O(8)) by reduction at 1200 degrees C in flowing argon. The original structure can be restored by oxidation of Sr(1.5)Ca(0.5)RuO(4) at 1000 degrees C in flowing oxygen. This remarkable transformation highlights the structural versatility afforded by the combination of ruthenium and calcium.  相似文献

Chromium oxyanions, Cr(x)O(y)H(z)(-), were generated in the gas-phase using a quadrupole ion trap secondary ion mass spectrometer (IT-SIMS), where they were reacted with O(2). Only CrO(2)(-) of the Cr(1)O(y)H(z)(-) envelope was observed to react with oxygen, producing primarily CrO(3)(-). The rate constant for the reaction of CrO(2)(-) with O(2) was approximately 38% of the Langevin collision constant at 310 K. CrO(3)(-), CrO(4)(-), and CrO(4)H(-) were unreactive with O(2) in the ion trap. In contrast, Cr(2)O(4)(-) was observed to react with O(2) producing CrO(3)(-) + CrO(3) via oxidative degradation at a rate that was approximately 15% efficient. The presence of background water facilitated the reaction of Cr(2)O(4)(-) + H(2)O to form Cr(2)O(5)H(2)(-); the hydrated product ion Cr(2)O(5)H(2)(-) reacted with O(2) to form Cr(2)O(6)(-) (with concurrent elimination of H(2)O) at a rate that was 6% efficient. Cr(2)O(5)(-) also reacted with O(2) to form Cr(2)O(7)(-) (4% efficient) and Cr(2)O(6)(-) + O (2% efficient); these reactions proceeded in parallel. By comparison, Cr(2)O(6)(-) was unreactive with O(2), and in fact, no further O(2) addition could be observed for any of the Cr(2)O(6)H(z)(-) anions. Generalizing, Cr(x)O(y)H(z)(-) species that have low coordinate, low oxidation state metal centers are susceptible to O(2) oxidation. However, when the metal coordination is >3, or when the formal oxidation state is > or =5, reactivity stops.  相似文献

Two new oxides of the Ruddlesden-Popper series have been isolated and structurally characterized in the Sr-Co-Ta-O system. X-ray and electron diffraction and high-resolution electron microscopy show that polycrystalline Sr(3)CoTaO(7) constitutes the n=2 member of a new Sr(n+1)(CoTa)(n)O(3n+1) homologous series, the essential feature of which is the existence of two connected Co/Ta octahedral layers, separated by Sr atoms. Sr(2)CoTaO(6), the n=infinity member of the series, shows a particular short-range ordering of Co and Ta at the octahedral sites leading, as shown by high-resolution electron microscopy, to the disordered intergrowth of simple and double perovskite type domains. Strategies to stabilize new oxides of this series are discussed.  相似文献

The molecular structures, oxidation states, and reactivity of 3 and 6% CrO3/ZrO2 catalysts prepared by incipient wetness impregnation were examined under different conditions. The in situ Raman spectroscopic studies under dehydrated conditions reveal that the 3 and 6% CrO3/ZrO2 catalysts possess equal amounts of monochromate and polychromate species. Consequently, monolayer coverage on this ZrO2 support is about 3% CrO3. The 6% CrO3/ZrO2 possesses an additional Raman band due to Cr2O3 crystals corresponding to the remaining 3% CrO3. Furthermore, during reaction conditions the polychromate species is preferentially reduced, the monochromate species are slightly affected, and the Cr2O3 crystals are not affected. The in situ UV-vis-NIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy results reveal that under steady-state reaction conditions the extent of reduction and edge energy position of surface Cr6+ cations increase with an increase in reduction environment for the 3 and 6% CrO3/ZrO2 samples. Propane oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) studies reveal that the catalytic activity expressed in moles of propane converted per gram catalyst per second is similar for the two catalysts, which is consistent with equal amounts of molecularly dispersed chromia present. The turnover frequency for the 6% CrO3/ZrO2 catalyst is, however, smaller than that for the 3% CrO3/ZrO2 sample due to the presence of Cr2O3 crystals, which are relatively inactive for propane ODH. For this catalytic system and for the experimental conditions used, propene, CO, and CO2 are primary products. Furthermore, the 33-39% propene selectivity is not affected by the C3H8/O2 ratio for both catalysts. Structure-reactivity studies suggest that the molecularly dispersed species are present in equal amounts in the 3 and 6% CrO3/ZrO2 samples as Cr6+ monochromate and polychromate species are the most effective catalytic active sites taking part in the propane ODH reaction.  相似文献

采用改进的溶胶-凝胶法合成固体氧化物燃料电池阴极系粉体Pr0.6-zSr0.4Co0.8Fe0.2O3-δ(PSCF)(z=0,0.02,0.05,0.1)。使用X射线衍射(XRD)、扫描电子显微镜(SEM)对其相结构与形貌进行了分析,结果表明:900℃以上焙烧后的阴极粉体Pr0.6-zSr0.4Co0.8Fe0.2O3-δ(z=0,0.02,0.05,0.1)为单一的钙钛矿结构。1000℃烧结的样品内粒子分布比较均匀,且颗粒内部存在一定程度的空隙,并与电解质附着情况良好。用直流四电极法测试阴极体系样品在400~750℃的电导率,发现各试样混合离子电子电导率均高于786 S.cm-1,能够满足固体氧化物燃料电池对阴极电导率的要求。用交流阻抗法测定PSCF-Ce0.8Sm0.2O1.9体系样品的阻抗谱,得到1000℃烧结的阴极体系对称电池在测试温度为750℃z=0,z=0.02,z=0.05时的极化电阻分别为0.041,0.040,0.034Ω.cm-2。  相似文献

The reaction of a 1:1 mixture of (H(2)O)(5)Cr((16)O(2))(2+) and (H(2)O)(5)Cr((18)O(2))(2+) at pH 1 did not yield measurable amounts of (16)O(18)O. This result rules out a Russell-type mechanism (2(H(2)O)(5)CrO(2)(2+) --> 2(H(2)O)(5)CrO(2+) + O(2)) for the bimolecular decomposition reaction. Usually, SrTiO3 monodoped with Cr cations at the Ti4+ site hardly shows visible light photocatalytic activity. Revealing the origin of this issue is important for us to find an alternative approach to make SrTiO3 active under visible light irradiation. In this paper, two Cr-doped SrTiO3-(Sr0.95Cr0.05)TiO3 and Sr(Ti0.95Cr0.05)O3-were synthesized by a conventional solid-state reaction method, and their photophysical and photocatalytic properties were studied comparatively. It was found that both (Sr0.95Cr0.05)TiO3 and Sr(Ti0.95Cr0.05)O3 showed considerable absorption to visible light. However, their photocatalytic activities for H2 evolution from aqueous methanol solution under visible light irradiation were significantly different: the H2 evolution rate over (Sr0.95Cr0.05)TiO3 (approximately 21 micromol/h) was more than 100 times that over Sr(Ti0.95Cr0.05)O3 (approximately 0.2 micromol/h). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis results revealed that the Cr cations doped at the Sr2+ site were all trivalent state (Cr3+), while those doped at the Ti4+ site were mixed valent states (Cr3+ and Cr6+). The different photocatalytic activities of H2 evolution are supposed to closely relate to the different valent states of Cr doped at different sites (Sr2+ or Ti4+) in SrTiO3. Possible electronic structures of (Sr0.95Cr0.05)TiO3 and Sr(Ti0.95Cr0.05)O3 were proposed in relation to their photophysical and photocatalytic properties.  相似文献

The related parameters of cation size and valence that control the crystallization of Sr(3)CaRu(2)O(9) into a 1:2 B-site-ordered perovskite structure were explored by cationic substitution at the strontium and calcium sites and by the application of high pressure. At ambient pressures, Sr(3)MRu(2)O(9) stoichiometries yield multiphasic mixtures for M = Ni(2+), Mg(2+), and Y(3+), whereas pseudocubic perovskites result for M = Cu(2+) and Zn(2+). A high-performance liquid chromatographic method with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD), based on chelation with ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate (APDC), has been developed for the determination of chromium species. Determination of Cr3+, CrO42-, and Cr2O72- was performed for standards and synthetic environmental matrixes. This method is robust, rugged, and can be used for rapid routine determination of chromium species with high precision and reliability. Sample pretreatment is simple. The method is capable of discriminating not only between Cr(III) and Cr(VI) but also between the chemical forms of Cr(VI) - CrO42- and Cr2O72-. By analysis of numerous samples the method has been shown to be selective, sensitive, and free from matrix interference, which is crucial for the determination of chromium species in difficult-to-analyze environmental matrixes. This method has been validated by means of an interlaboratory study. Although different speciation techniques were used during this study, there was good agreement between results from the two laboratories. The method detection limits were 7 and 4 mg L(-1) for Cr3+ and Cr2O72-, respectively. Recoveries of the analytes from spiked samples were 98% and 100% for Cr3+ and Cr2O72-, respectively. Both were based on a 10-mL sample volume spiked with 0.4 mg L(-1) chromium.  相似文献

Mixed perovskite oxides with CaxLa1-xNi0.3Al0.7O3-d and SrxLa1-xNi0.3Al0.7O3-d(x=0,0.2,0.5,0.8,and 1.0;d=0.5x)components have been prepared by a sol-gel method.The effects of the partial substitution of La by Ca and Sr in dry CH4 reforming were investigated at 500-800 ℃ and 101 kPa.The resulting oxides were examined by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction,temperature-programmed reduction,scanning electron microscopy,energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry,and BET surface area analysis.Studies following the catalytic tests by carbon analysis show some carbon deposition on this catalytic system.The results indicate that all initial salt entered into a propionate structure,and that most of the solid solution has well defined perovskite structure with surface areas between 3.5 and 9.5 m2/g.Most of the catalysts performed well in the dry reforming,with CH4 conversions up to 90%,H2 yields up to 80%,and H2 selectivity up to 90%.Among the samples,Sr0.2La0.8Ni0.3Al0.7O2.9 showed an excellent catalytic performance in CH4 dry reforming,with a H2/CO ratio of 1,whereas Ca0.8La0.2Ni0.3Al0.7O2.6 showed the lowest coke formation(approximately 0.71%).  相似文献

Solid-state (53)Cr NMR spectra of a series of chromate (CrO4(2-)) and dichromate (Cr2O7(2-)) salts have been examined by employing the stepped-frequency quadrupolar Carr-Purcell Meiboom-Gill (QCPMG) experiment and high applied magnetic field strengths, 11.75 and 18.8 T. Cr-53 nuclear quadrupolar coupling constants, CQ(53Cr), ranging from 1.23 to 5.01 MHz for the Cr(4(2-) salts and 7.25 to 8.14 MHz for the Cr2O7(2-) salts have been measured. For the dichromate salts, this corresponds to central transition 53Cr NMR lineshapes of 200-250 kHz at 18.8 T. The use of hyperbolic secant (HS) pulses in combination with the Hahn-echo (HE) or QCPMG experiment results in significant sensitivity enhancements when acquiring 53Cr NMR spectra of magic-angle spinning (MAS) samples, provided the MAS rate is fast with respect to the second-order quadrupolar interaction. For the CrO4(2-) and Cr2O7(2-) salts, the anisotropic chromium magnetic shielding interaction is generally negligible compared to the second-order 53Cr nuclear quadrupolar interaction. No simple correlation between the structure of the CrO4(2-) and Cr2O7(2-) anions and the observed CQ(53Cr) values has been found.  相似文献

The crystal structure of the layered cobalt oxyfluoride Sr(2)CoO(3)F synthesized under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions has been determined from neutron powder diffraction and synchrotron powder diffraction data collected at temperatures ranging from 320 to 3 K. This material adopts the tetragonal space group I4/mmm over the measured temperature range and the crystal structure is analogous to n = 1 Ruddlesden-Popper type layered perovskite. In contrast to related oxyhalide compounds, the present material exhibits the unique coordination environment around the Co metal center: coexistence of square pyramidal coordination around Co and anion disorder between O and F at the apical sites. Magnetic susceptibility and electrical resistivity measurements reveal that Sr(2)CoO(3)F is an antiferromagnetic insulator with the Néel temperature T(N) = 323(2) K. The magnetic structure that has been determined by neutron diffraction adopts a G-type antiferromagnetic order with the propagation vector k = (1/2 1/2 0) with an ordered cobalt moment μ = 3.18(5) μ(B) at 3 K, consistent with the high spin electron configuration for the Co(3+) ions. The antiferromagnetic and electrically insulating states remain robust even against 15%-O substation for F at the apical sites. However, applying pressure exhibits the onset of the metallic state, probably coming from change in the electronic state of square-pyramidal coordinated cobalt.  相似文献

Three different perovskite-related phases were isolated in the SrGa(1-x)Sc(x)O(2.5) system: Sr(2)GaScO(5), Sr(10)Ga(6)Sc(4)O(25), and SrGa(0.75)Sc(0.25)O(2.5). Sr(2)GaScO(5) (x = 0.5) crystallizes in a brownmillerite-type structure [space group (S.G.) Icmm, a = 5.91048(5) ?, b = 15.1594(1) ?, and c = 5.70926(4) ?] with complete ordering of Sc(3+) and Ga(3+) over octahedral and tetrahedral positions, respectively. The crystal structure of Sr(10)Ga(6)Sc(4)O(25) (x = 0.4) was determined by the Monte Carlo method and refined using a combination of X-ray, neutron, and electron diffraction data [S.G. I4(1)/a, a = 17.517(1) ?, c = 32.830(3) ?]. It represents a novel type of ordering of the B cations and oxygen vacancies in perovskites. The crystal structure of Sr(10)Ga(6)Sc(4)O(25) can be described as a stacking of eight perovskite layers along the c axis ...[-(Sc/Ga)O(1.6)-SrO(0.8)-(Sc/Ga)O(1.8)-SrO(0.8)-](2).... Similar to Sr(2)GaScO(5), this structure features a complete ordering of the Sc(3+) and Ga(3+) cations over octahedral and tetrahedral positions, respectively, within each layer. A specific feature of the crystal structure of Sr(10)Ga(6)Sc(4)O(25) is that one-third of the tetrahedra have one vertex not connected with other Sc/Ga cations. Further partial replacement of Sc(3+) by Ga(3+) leads to the formation of the cubic perovskite phase SrGa(0.75)Sc(0.25)O(2.5) (x = 0.25) with a = 3.9817(4) ?. This compound incorporates water molecules in the structure forming SrGa(0.75)Sc(0.25)O(2.5)·xH(2)O hydrate, which exhibits a proton conductivity of ~2.0 × 10(-6) S/cm at 673 K.  相似文献

53Cr chemical shifts of CrO4(2-), Cr2O7(2-), CrO3X-, CrO2X2(X = F, Cl), and Cr(CO)5L (L = CO, PF3, CHNH2, CMeNMe2) are computed, using geometries optimized with the gradient-corrected BP86 density functional, at the gauge-including atomic orbitals (GIAO)-, BPW91-, and B3LYP levels. For this set of compounds, substituent effects on delta(53Cr) are better described with the pure BPW91 functional than with B3LYP, in contrast to most other transition-metal chemical shifts studied so far. For selected cases, 53Cr NMR line widths can be rationalized in terms of electric field gradients (EFGs) computed with the BPW91 functional, but in general other factors such as molecular correlation times appear to be dominating. 53Cr chemical shifts and EFGs are predicted for CrO3, Cr(C6H6)2, Cr(C6H6)CO3, and, with reduced reliability, for Cr2(mu2-O2CH)4.  相似文献
