We prove that the nilpotent product of a set of groups A 1,…,A s has finite palindromic width if and only if the palindromic widths of A i ,i=1,…,s,are finite. We give a new proof that the commutator width of F n ?K is infinite, where F n is a free group of rank n≥2 and K is a finite group. This result, combining with a result of Fink [9] gives examples of groups with infinite commutator width but finite palindromic width with respect to some generating set.  相似文献

Let Mm,n be the set of all m × n real matrices. A matrix A ∈ Mm,n is said to be row-dense if there are no zeros between two nonzero entries for every row of this matrix. We find the structure of linear functions T: Mm,n → Mm,n that preserve or strongly preserve row-dense matrices, i.e., T(A) is row-dense whenever A is row-dense or T(A) is row-dense if and only if A is row-dense, respectively. Similarly, a matrix A ∈ Mn,m is called a column-dense matrix if every column of A is a column-dense vector. At the end, the structure of linear preservers (strong linear preservers) of column-dense matrices is found.  相似文献

Let \(\mathfrak {g}\) be a simple complex Lie algebra of types A n , D n , E n , and Q a quiver obtained by orienting its Dynkin diagram. Let λ be a dominant weight, and E(λ) the corresponding simple highest weight representation. We show that the weight multiplicities of E(λ) may be recovered by playing a numbers game Λ Q (λ), generalizing the well known Mozes game, constructing the orbit of λ under the action of the Weyl group W. The game board is provided by the Auslander-Reiten quiver Γ Q of Q. The game moves are obtained by constructing Nakajima’s monomial crystal M(λ) directly out of Γ Q . As an application, we consider Kashiwara’s parameterizations of the canonical basis. Let w 0 be a reduced expression of the longest element w 0 of W, adapted to a quiver Q of type A n . We show that a set of inequalities defining the string (Kashiwara) cone with respect to w 0, may be obtained by playing subgames of the numbers games Λ Q (ω i ) associated to fundamental representations.  相似文献

Let R I (m, n) be the classical domain of type I in ? m×n with 1 ≤ mn. We obtain the optimal estimates of the eigenvalues of the Fréchet derivative Df(\(\mathop Z\limits^ \circ \)) at a smooth boundary fixed point \(\mathop Z\limits^ \circ \)of R I (m, n) for a holomorphic self-mapping f of R I (m, n). We provide a necessary and sufficient condition such that the boundary points of R I (m, n) are smooth, and give some properties of the smooth boundary points of R I (m, n). Our results extend the classical Schwarz lemma at the boundary of the unit disk Δ to R I (m, n), which may be applied to get some optimal estimates in several complex variables.  相似文献

Let Γ < GL n (F) be a countable non-amenable linear group with a simple, center free Zariski closure. Let Sub(Γ) denote the space of all subgroups of Γ with the compact, metric, Chabauty topology. An invariant random subgroup (IRS) of Γ is a conjugation invariant Borel probability measure on Sub(Γ). An IRS is called non-trivial if it does not have an atom in the trivial group, i.e. if it is non-trivial almost surely. We denote by IRS0(Γ) the collection of all non-trivial IRS on Γ.
Theorem 0.1: With the above notation, there exists a free subgroup F < Γ and a non-discrete group topology on Γ such that for every μ ∈ IRS0(Γ) the following properties hold:

μ-almost every subgroup of Γ is open

  • F ·Δ = Γ for μ-almost every Δ ∈ Sub(Γ).
  • F ∩ Δ is infinitely generated, for every open subgroup. In particular, this holds for μ-almost every Δ ∈ Sub(Γ).
  • The map
Φ: (Sub(Γ), μ) → (Sub(F),Φ*μ) Δ → Δ ∩ F is an F-invariant isomorphism of probability spaces.A more technical version of this theorem is valid for general countable linear groups. We say that an action of Γ on a probability space, by measure preserving transformations, is almost surely non-free (ASNF) if almost all point stabilizers are non-trivial.Corollary 0.2: Let Γ be as in the Theorem above. Then the product of finitely many ASNF Γ-spaces, with the diagonal Γ action, is ASNF.Corollary 0.3: Let Γ < GLn(F) be a countable linear group, A Δ Γ the maximal normal amenable subgroup of Γ — its amenable radical. If μ ∈ IRS(Γ) is supported on amenable subgroups of Γ, then in fact it is supported on Sub(A). In particular, if A(Γ) = <e> then Δ = <e>, μ almost surely.  相似文献

We consider Cayley graphs Γ over dihedral groups, dihedrants for short, which admit an automorphism group G acting regularly on the arc set of Γ. We prove that, if D 2n GAut(Γ) is a regular dihedral subgroup of G of order 2n such that any of its index 2 cyclic subgroups is core-free in G, then Γ belongs to the family of graphs of the form \((K_{n_{1}}\otimes\cdots\otimes K_{n_{\ell}})[K_{m}^{\mathrm{c}}]\), where 2n=n 1???n ? m, and the numbers n i are pairwise coprime. Applications to 1-regular dihedrants and Cayley maps on dihedral groups are also given.  相似文献

Let Γn, n ≥ 2, denote the symmetrized polydisc in ?n, and Γ1 be the closed unit disc in ?. We provide some characterizations of elements in Γn. In particular, an element (s1,..., sn?1, p) ∈ ?n is in Γn if and only if \({s_j} = {\beta _j} + \overline {{\beta _{n - j}}}p\), j = 1,..., n ? 1, for some (β1,..., βn?1) ∈ Γn?1, and |p| ≤ 1.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with 1 ≠ 0 and U(R) be the set of all unit elements of R. Let m, n be positive integers such that m > n. In this article, we study a generalization of n-absorbing ideals. A proper ideal I of R is called an (m, n)-absorbing ideal if whenever a 1?a m I for a 1,…, a m R?U(R), then there are n of the a i ’s whose product is in I. We investigate the stability of (m, n)-absorbing ideals with respect to various ring theoretic constructions and study (m, n)-absorbing ideals in several commutative rings. For example, in a Bézout ring or a Boolean ring, an ideal is an (m, n)-absorbing ideal if and only if it is an n-absorbing ideal, and in an almost Dedekind domain every (m, n)-absorbing ideal is a product of at most m ? 1 maximal ideals.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group. The prime graph Γ(G) of G is defined as follows. The vertices of Γ(G) are the primes dividing the order of G and two distinct vertices p and p′ are joined by an edge if there is an element in G of order pp′. We denote by k(Γ(G)) the number of isomorphism classes of finite groups H satisfying Γ(G) = Γ(H). Given a natural number r, a finite group G is called r-recognizable by prime graph if k(Γ(G)) =  r. In Shen et al. (Sib. Math. J. 51(2):244–254, 2010), it is proved that if p is an odd prime, then B p (3) is recognizable by element orders. In this paper as the main result, we show that if G is a finite group such that Γ(G) = Γ(B p (3)), where p > 3 is an odd prime, then \({G\cong B_p(3)}\) or C p (3). Also if Γ(G) = Γ(B 3(3)), then \({G\cong B_3(3), C_3(3), D_4(3)}\), or \({G/O_2(G)\cong {\rm Aut}(^2B_2(8))}\). As a corollary, the main result of the above paper is obtained.  相似文献

A Hamilton cycle in a graph Γ is a cycle passing through every vertex of Γ. A Hamiltonian decomposition of Γ is a partition of its edge set into disjoint Hamilton cycles. One of the oldest results in graph theory is Walecki’s theorem from the 19th century, showing that a complete graph K n on an odd number of vertices n has a Hamiltonian decomposition. This result was recently greatly extended by Kühn and Osthus. They proved that every r-regular n-vertex graph Γ with even degree r = cn for some fixed c > 1/2 has a Hamiltonian decomposition, provided n = n(c) is sufficiently large. In this paper we address the natural question of estimating H(Γ), the number of such decompositions of Γ. Our main result is that H(Γ) = r (1+o(1))nr/2. In particular, the number of Hamiltonian decompositions of K n is \({n^{\left( {1 + o\left( 1 \right)} \right){n^2}/2}}\).  相似文献

Let Δ be a pure simplicial complex on the vertex set [n] = {1,..., n} and I Δ its Stanley-Reisner ideal in the polynomial ring S = K[x 1,..., x n]. We show that Δ is a matroid (complete intersection) if and only if S/I Δ (m) (S/I Δ (m)) is clean for all m ∈ N and this is equivalent to saying that S/I Δ (m) (S/I Δ (m), respectively) is Cohen-Macaulay for all m ∈ N. By this result, we show that there exists a monomial ideal I with (pretty) cleanness property while S/I m or S/I m is not (pretty) clean for all integer m ≥ 3. If dim(Δ) = 1, we also prove that S/I Δ (2) Δ (S/I Δ 2) is clean if and only if S/I Δ (2) (S/I Δ 2, respectively) is Cohen-Macaulay.  相似文献

In this paper, we determine the neighbor connectivity κNB of two kinds of Cayley graphs: alternating group networks AN n and star graphs S n ; and give the exact values of edge neighbor connectivity λNB of ANn and Cayley graphs generated by transposition trees Γ n . Those are κNB(AN n ) = n?1, λNB(AN n ) = n?2 and κNB(S n ) = λNB n ) = n?1.  相似文献

By a result of Kantor, any subgroup of GL(n, q) containing a Singer cycle normalizes a field extension subgroup. This result has as a consequence a projective analogue, and this paper gives the details of this deduction, showing that any subgroup of PΓL(n, q) containing a projective Singer cycle normalizes the image of a field extension subgroup GL(n/s, qs) under the canonical homomorphism GL(n, q) → PGL(n, q), for some divisor s of n, and so is contained in the image of ΓL(n/s, qs) under the canonical homomorphism ΓL(n, q) → PΓL(n, q). The actions of field extension subgroups on V (n, q) are also investigated. In particular, we prove that any field extension subgroup GL(n/s, qs) of GL(n, q) has a unique orbit on s-dimensional subspaces of V (n, q) of length coprime to q. This orbit is a Desarguesian s-partition of V (n, q).  相似文献

Let G be a finite group. The degree(vertex) graph Γ(G) attached to G is a character degree graph. Its vertices are the degrees of the nonlinear irreducible complex characters of G, and different vertices m, n are adjacent if the greatest common divisor(m, n) 1. In this paper, we classify all graphs with four vertices that occur as Γ(G) for nonsolvable groups G.  相似文献

In this paper we describe a third class of low discrepancy sequences. Using a lattice Γ ? ? s , we construct Kronecker-like and van der Corput-like ergodic transformations T 1,Γ and T 2,Γ of [0, 1) s . We prove that for admissible lattices Γ, (T ν n (x))n≥0 is a low discrepancy sequence for all x ∈ [0, 1) s and ν ∈ {1, 2}. We also prove that for an arbitrary polyhedron P ? [0, 1) s , for almost all lattices Γ ∈ L s = SL(s,?)/SL(s, ?) (in the sense of the invariant measure on L s ), the following asymptotic formula
$\# \{ 0 \le n < N:T_{v,\Gamma }^n(x) \in P\} = NvolP + O({(\ln N)^{s + \varepsilon }}),N \to \infty$
holds with arbitrary small ? > 0, for all x ∈ [0, 1) s , and ν ∈ {1, 2}.

Let ?+ be the semiring of all nonnegative integers and A an m × n matrix over ?+. The rank of A is the smallest k such that A can be factored as an m × k matrix times a k×n matrix. The isolation number of A is the maximum number of nonzero entries in A such that no two are in any row or any column, and no two are in a 2 × 2 submatrix of all nonzero entries. We have that the isolation number of A is a lower bound of the rank of A. For A with isolation number k, we investigate the possible values of the rank of A and the Boolean rank of the support of A. So we obtain that the isolation number and the Boolean rank of the support of a given matrix are the same if and only if the isolation number is 1 or 2 only. We also determine a special type of m×n matrices whose isolation number is m. That is, those matrices are permutationally equivalent to a matrix A whose support contains a submatrix of a sum of the identity matrix and a tournament matrix.  相似文献

Let W be the Weyl group of type F 4: We explicitly describe a finite set of basic braid I *-transformations and show that any two reduced I *-expressions for a given involution in W can be transformed into each other through a series of basic braid I *-transformations. Our main result extends the earlier work on the Weyl groups of classical types (i.e., A n , B n , and D n ).  相似文献

In this note, we prove the following result. There is a positive constant ε(n, Λ) such that if M n is a simply connected compact Kähler manifold with sectional curvature bounded from above by Λ, diameter bounded from above by 1, and with holomorphic bisectional curvature H ≥ ?ε(n, Λ), then M n is diffeomorphic to the product M 1 × ? × M k , where each M i is either a complex projective space or an irreducible Kähler–Hermitian symmetric space of rank ≥ 2. This resolves a conjecture of Fang under the additional upper bound restrictions on sectional curvature and diameter.  相似文献

In this work we obtain sufficient conditions for stabilizability by time-delayed feedback controls for the system
$\frac{{\partial w\left( {x,t} \right)}}{{\partial t}} = A(D_x )w(x,t) - A(D_x )u(x,t), x \in \mathbb{R}^n , t > h, $
where D x =(-i?/?x 1,...-i?/?x n ), A(σ) and B(σ) are polynomial matrices (m×m), det B(σ)≡0 on ? n , w is an unknown function, u(·,t)=P(D x )w(·,t?h) is a control, h>0. Here P is an infinite differentiable matrix (m×m), and the norm of each of its derivatives does not exceed Γ(1+|σ|2)γ for some Γ, γ∈? depending on the order of this derivative. Necessary conditions for stabilizability of this system are also obtained. In particular, we study the stabilizability problem for the systems corresponding to the telegraph equation, the wave equation, the heat equation, the Schrödinger equation and another model equation. To obtain these results we use the Fourier transform method, the Lojasiewicz inequality and the Tarski—Seidenberg theorem and its corollaries. To choose an appropriate P and stabilize this system, we also prove some estimates of the real parts of the zeros of the quasipolynomial det {Iλ-A(σ)+B(σ)P(σ)e -hλ.
