In this paper, under some assumptions on the flow with a low Mach number, we study the nonexistence of a global nontrivial subsonic solution in an unbounded domain Ω which is one part of a 3D ramp. The flow is assumed to be steady, isentropic and irrotational, namely, the movement of the flow is described by the potential equation. By establishing a fundamental a priori estimate on the solution of a second order linear elliptic equation in Ω with Neumann boundary conditions on Ω and Dirichlet boundary value at some point of Ω, we show that there is no global nontrivial subsonic flow with a low Mach number in such a domain Ω.  相似文献

A spring model is used to simulate the skeleton structure of the red blood cell (RBC) membrane and to study the red blood cell (RBC) rheology in Poiseuille flow with an immersed boundary method. The lateral migration properties of many cells in Poiseuille flow have been investigated. The authors also combine the above methodology with a distributed Lagrange multiplier/fictitious domain method to simulate the interaction of cells and neutrally buoyant particles in a microchannel for studying the margination of particles.  相似文献

Let X be a compact metric space, F : X ×R→ X be a continuous flow and x ∈ X a proper quasi-weakly almost periodic point, that is, x is quasi-weakly almost periodic but not weakly almost periodic. The aim of this paper is to investigate whether there exists an invariant measure generated by the orbit of x such that the support of this measure coincides with the minimal center of attraction of x? In order to solve the problem, two continuous flows are constructed. In one continuous flow,there exist a proper quasi-weakly almost periodic point and an invariant measure generated by its orbit such that the support of this measure coincides with its minimal center of attraction; and in the other,there is a proper quasi-weakly almost periodic point such that the support of any invariant measure generated by its orbit is properly contained in its minimal center of attraction. So the mentioned problem is sufficiently answered in the paper.  相似文献

The numerical approximation of the Spectral-Lagrangian scheme developed by the authors in [30] for a wide range of homogeneous non-linear Boltzmann type equations is extended to the space inhomogeneous case and several shock problems are benchmark. Recognizing that the Boltzmann equation is an important tool in the analysis of formation of shock and boundary layer structures, we present the computational algorithm in Section 3.3 and perform a numerical study case in shock tube geometries well modeled in for ID in x times 3D in v in Section 4. The classic Riemann problem is numerically analyzed for Knudsen numbers close to continuum. The shock tube problem of Aoki et al [2], where the wall temperature is suddenly increased or decreased, is also studied. We consider the problem of heat transfer between two parallel plates with diffusive boundary conditions for a range of Knudsen numbers from close to continuum to a highly rarefied state. Finally, the classical infinite shock tube problem that generates a non-moving shock wave is studied. The point worth noting in this example is that the flow in the final case turns from a supersonic flow to a subsonic flow across the shock.  相似文献

A genuine variational principle developed by Gyarmati, in the field of thermodynamics of irreversible processes unifying the theoretical requirements of technical, environmental and biological sciences is employed to study the effects of uniform suction and injection on MHD flow adjacent to an isothermal wedge with pressure gradient in the presence of a transverse magnetic field. The velocity distribution inside the boundary layer has been considered as a simple polynomial function and the variational principle is formulated. The Euler-Lagrange equation is reduced to a simple polynomial equation in terms of momentum boundary layer thickness. The velocity profiles, displacement thickness and the coefficient of skin friction are calculated for various values of wedge angle parameter m, magnetic parameter ξ and suction/injection parameter H. The present results are compared with known available results and the comparison is found to be satisfactory. The present study establishes high accuracy of results obtained by this variational technique.  相似文献

The optimal filter π = {π t,t ∈ [0,T ]} of a stochastic signal is approximated by a sequence {π n t } of measure-valued processes defined by branching particle systems in a random environment(given by the observation process).The location and weight of each particle are governed by stochastic differential equations driven by the observation process,which is common for all particles,as well as by an individual Brownian motion,which applies to this specific particle only.The branching mechanism of each particle depends on the observation process and the path of this particle itself during its short lifetime δ = n 2α,where n is the number of initial particles and α is a fixed parameter to be optimized.As n →∞,we prove the convergence of π n t to π t uniformly for t ∈ [0,T ].Compared with the available results in the literature,the main contribution of this article is that the approximation is free of any stochastic integral which makes the numerical implementation readily available.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a class of hyperbolic-parabolic problems in periodically perforated domains with a homogeneous Neumann condition on the boundary of holes. We focus on the homogenization of these equations, which generalizes those achieved by BensoussanLions-Papanicolau and Migorski. We consider a branching random walk with a random environment in time, in which the offspring distribution of a particle of generation n and the distribution of the displacements of its children depend on an environment indexed by the time n. The core problem of dynamical systems is to study the asymptotic behaviors of orbits and their topological structures. It is well known that the orbits with certain recurrence and generating ergodic (or invariant) measures are important, such orbits form a full measure set for all invariant measures of the system, its closure is called the measure center of the system. To investigate this set, Zhou introduced the notions of weakly almost periodic point and quasi-weakly almost periodic point in 1990s, and presented some open problems on complexity of discrete dynamical systems in 2004. One of the open problems is as follows: for a quasi-weakly almost periodic point but not weakly almost periodic, is there an invariant measure generated by its orbit such that the support of this measure is equal to its minimal center of attraction (a closed invariant set which attracts its orbit statistically for every point and has no proper subset with this property)? Up to now, the problem remains open. In this paper, we construct two points in the one-sided shift system of two symbols, each of them generates a sub-shift system. One gives a positive answer to the question above, the other answers in the negative. Thus we solve the open problem completely. More important, the two examples show that a proper quasi-weakly almost periodic orbit behaves very differently with weakly almost periodic orbit.  相似文献

Crystal growth and solute precipitation is a Stefan problem. It is a free boundary problem for a parabolic partial differential equation with a time-dependent phase interface. The velocity of the moving interface between solute and crystal is a local function. The dendritic structure of the crystal interface, which develops dynamically, requires high resolution of the interface geometry. These facts make the Lagrangian front tracking method well suited for the problem. In this paper, we introduce an upgraded version of the front tracking code and its associated algorithms for the numerical study of crystal formation. We compare our results with the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method (SPH) in terms of the crystal fractal dimension with its dependence on the Damkohler number and density ratio.  相似文献

High‐speed space‐ or aircrafts travelling through a dusty atmosphere may meet dust clouds in which the particles are often distributed very nonuniformly. Such nonuniformities may result in the onset of unsteady effects in the shock and boundary layer and (that is of prime interest) unsteady heat fluxes at the stagnation region of the vehicle. In the nearwall region of high‐speed dusty‐gas flow, there may take place regimes with and without particle inertial deposition, which require essentially different mathematical models for describing the heat transfer [1]. The present paper deals with two problems, considered within the framework of the two‐fluid model of dusty gas [2]: (i) determination of the limits of the particle inertial deposition regime and the distribution of dispersed‐phase parameters near the frontal surface of a sphere immersed in dusty supersonic flow (Mach number M = 6) at moderate flow Reynolds numbers (102 ≤ Re ≤ ∞); (ii) effect of free‐stream nonuniformities in the concentration of low inertial (non‐depositing) particles on the friction and heat transfer at the stagnation point of the body at high Re and M.  相似文献

Numerical simulations of high Reynolds number flows in the unit driven cavity have been performed. The system is shown to become unsteady at Re=8125 and chaotic at Re=17,000. In between this range the system switches between periodic and quasi-periodic states with step-wise changes in period. A passive concentration field and passive tracer particles are introduced into the flow at its asymptotic state to show the effects of chaos on mixing.  相似文献

Summary This paper presents a proof that given a dilute concentration of aerosol particles in an infinite, periodic, cellular flow field, arbitrarily small inertial effects are sufficient to induce almost all particles to settle. It is shown that when inertia is taken as a small parameter, the equations of particle motion admit a slow manifold that is globally attracting. The proof proceeds by analyzing the motion on this slow manifold, wherein the flow is a small perturbation of the equation governing the motion of fluid particles. The perturbation is supplied by the inertia, which here occurs as a regular parameter. Further, it is shown that settling particles approach a finite number of attracting periodic paths. The structure of the set of attracting paths, including the nature of possible bifurcations of these paths and the resulting stability changes, is examined via a symmetric one-dimensional map derived from the flow.  相似文献

针对在Reynolds数Re=3000~50000、Stokes数S_(tk)=0.1~10、Dean数De=1400~2800的情况下,长径比β=2~12的圆柱状颗粒流经弯管湍流场时的取向与沉积特性进行了研究.圆柱状颗粒的运动采用细长体理论结合Newton第二定律进行描述,取向分布函数由Fokker-Planck方程给出,平均湍流场通过求解Reynolds平均运动方程结合Reynolds应力方程得到,作用在颗粒上的湍流脉动速度由动力学模拟扫掠模型描述.通过求解湍流场以及颗粒的运动方程和取向分布函数方程,得到并分析了沿流向不同截面和出口处颗粒的取向分布,讨论了各因素对颗粒沉积特性的影响.研究结果表明,随着S_(tk)和颗粒长径比β的增加、De和Re的减少,颗粒的主轴更趋向于流动方向.颗粒的沉积率随着De,Re,S_(tk)和颗粒长径比的增大而增加,所得结论对于工程实际应用具有参考价值.  相似文献

This paper considers the decay of Poiseuille flow within a suddenlyblocked pipe. For small to moderate times the flow is shownto consist of an inviscid core flow coupled with a boundarylayer at the pipe wall. A small-time asymptotic solution isdeveloped and it is shown that this solution is valid for timesup to the point at which the boundary layer fills the wholepipe. A small-time composite solution is used to initiate anumerical marching procedure which overcomes the small-timesingularity that arises in the flow and so allows us to describethe ultimate decay of the flow within a blocked pipe. The stabilityof this flow is then considered using both a quasi-steady approximationand a transient-growth analysis based upon marching solutionsof the linearized Navier–Stokes equations. Our transientstability analysis predicts a critical Reynolds number, fortransition to turbulence, in the range 970 < Re < 1370.  相似文献

Knowledge of particle deposition in turbulent flows is often required in engineering situations. Examples include fouling of turbine blades, plate-out in nuclear reactors and soot deposition. Thus it is important for numerical simulations to be able to predict particle deposition. Particle deposition is often principally determined by the forces acting on the particles in the boundary layer. The particle tracking facility in the CFD code uses the eddy lifetime model to simulate turbulent particle dispersion, no specific boundary layer being modelled. The particle tracking code has been modified to include a boundary layer. The non-dimensional yplus, y+, distance of the particle from the wall is determined and then values for the fluid velocity, fluctuating fluid velocity and eddy lifetime appropriate for a turbulent boundary layer used. Predictions including the boundary layer have been compared against experimental data for particle deposition in turbulent pipe flow. The results giving much better agreement. Many engineering problems also involve heat transfer and hence temperature gradients. Thermophoresis is a phenomena by which small particles experience a force in the opposite direction to the temperature gradient. Thus particles will tend to deposit on cold walls and be repulsed by hot walls. The effect of thermophoresis on the deposition of particles can be significant. The modifications of the particle tracking facility have been extended to include the effect of thermophoresis. A preliminary test case involving the deposition of particles in a heated pipe has been simulated. Comparison with experimental data from an extensive experimental programme undertaken at ISPRA, known as STORM (Simplified Tests on Resuspension Mechanisms), has been made.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the existence of three nontrivial solutions for a discrete non-linear multiparameter periodic problem involving the p-Laplacian. By using the similar method for the Dirichlet boundary value problems in [G. Bonanno and P. Candito, Appl.Anal., 88(4)(2009), pp. 605-616], we construct two new strong maximum principles and obtain that the boundary value problem has three positive solutions for λ and μ in some suitable intervals. A self-similar 2D steady-state flow of two immisible viscous fluids with inertial particles is considered. It is assumed that two viscous streams, one of which contains the particles, collide forming a flat interface with a stagnation point. The general case is discussed, when the fluids have different viscosities and densities and the streams are directed at arbitrary angles. The far field corresponds to inviscid vortex flow near an “oblique” stagnation point. The limiting case of viscous dusty flow near a rigid plane is studied in detail within one-way and two-way coupling approximations. Thin zones of particle accumulation are detected.
