We report on X-ray magnetic diffraction studies of the spin density wave antiferromagnetism formed in the conduction electron band of chromium. Non-resonant X-ray magnetic scattering was used to directly determine that chromium has zero orbital magnetisation. Furthermore, the azimuthal dependence of this scattering provides unique evidence that chromium forms a linearly polarised wave. In the vicinity of the K absorption edge, resonant X-ray magnetic scattering was observed. A consistent model of the magnetic scattering has been derived from the resonant and non-resonant magnetic amplitudes. The enhancement of the magnetic intensity arises primarily from dipole transitions from the core 1s level to 4p states. Quadrupole transitions to the magnetic 3d states are essentially non-existent due to their sensitivity to (and the absence of) orbital moment. The dependence of the transformation coefficient of the four-pole network with the toroid core made of the La0.6Pb0.4MnO3 manganite on dc biasing magnetic field and frequency was experimentally investigated. The factors which influence the value of the transmission coefficient are analyzed. In the megahertz frequency range the frequency dependence of the transformation coefficient has a resonant form with the position of the maximum and amplitude increasing with the dc biasing. The dc magnetic field dependence of the phase shift between the voltages in the primary and secondary windings was investigated. The results are interpreted taking into account the imaginary component of magnetic permeability of the core material.  相似文献

Electron tunneling relaxation in double quantum wells subject to a transverse magnetic field is studied. The resonant peaks in the tunneling relaxation rate appear when the energy splitting Δ of the tunnel-coupled pair of the left- and right- well electron states is a multiple of the cyclotron energy ℏωc and two series of the Landau levels coincide. The shape of such resonant oscillations of the relaxation rate is determined by the Landau levels' broadening (which is associated with the intrawell scattering in the case of small tunnel coupling), but it is not expressed through the electron density of states directly. The dependence of the tunneling relaxation rate on ℏωc and Δ is calculated taking into account elastic scattering of the electrons by the inhomogeneities of the structure in the limit when the scattering potential is slowly changing on the magnetic length scale.  相似文献

Electron states on an attractive center of small-radius r c ? l (l = $\sqrt {\frac{{c\hbar }}{{eH}}} $ is the magnetic length) located in a two-dimensional structure are investigated in a uniform magnetic field H applied perpendicularly to the structure surface. The spectrum of magnetic-impurity (MI) particle states with an arbitrary moment projection on the direction H for Landau bands 0 ≤ N < l 2/r c 2 is derived in the approximation that mixing of Landau levels is weak. The dependence of the electron energy states on magnetic field, the layer thickness, and the impurity position are studied. It is shown that dimension lowering leads to a qualitatively different spectrum of MI states compared to the three-dimensional case [1]. A comparison of the obtained binding energy of the D ? center with experimental data is performed.  相似文献

The magnetic moment of an electron gas on the surface of constant negative curvature is investigated. It is shown that the surface curvature leads to the appearance of the region of the monotonic dependence M(B) at low magnetic fields. At high magnetic fields, the dependence of the magnetic moment on a magnetic field is the oscillating one. The coefficient of absorption of electromagnetic radiation by a quasi-two-dimensional electron gas placed in an oblique magnetic field is found. The scattering of electrons by optical phonons is shown to lead to resonant absorption. The shape of the resonance peaks on the absorption curve is studied, and their doublet nature is demonstrated. The effects of energy dependence of secondary radiation emission (SRE) followed by nuclear resonant and nonresonant photo-absorption at Mössbauer total external reflection (MTER) have been considered theoretically and checked experimentally. Numerical interpretation of a set of MTER and CEM spectra at different grazing angles has given the depth profiles of electronic density, photoabsorption coefficient and hyperfine interaction variations in 50 nm slightly oxidized57Fe film. Empirical functions of photo- and conversion electron yield are also determined. They appeared to be nonsimilar and nonmonotone. The energy dependencies of SRE are recalculated for time domain Mössbauer spectroscopy of synchrotron radiation (SR). The coherent nature of the TER effect reveals itself in the existence of delayed intensity of nonresonant SRE. The relation of nonresonant and resonant SRE, their energy, time and angular spectra strongly depend upon the depth of their creation, which opens a way for depth selective measurements as in the X-ray standing waves method.  相似文献

We consider a model of an Anderson impurity embedded in a d(x(2)-y(2))--wave superconducting state to describe the low-energy excitations of cuprate superconductors doped with a small amount of magnetic impurities. Because of the Dirac-like energy dispersion, a sharp localized resonance above the Fermi energy, showing a marginal Fermi liquid behavior ( omega ln omega as omega-->0), is predicted for the impurity states. The same logarithmic dependence of self-energy and a linear frequency dependence of the relaxation rate are also derived for the conduction electrons, characterizing a new universality class for the strong coupling fixed point. At the resonant energies, the spatial distribution of the electron density of states around the magnetic impurity is also calculated.  相似文献

在有效质量近似理论下,利用转移矩阵和有效垒高方法研究了有限磁场下含结构缺陷的多组分超晶格中局域电子态的性质.在考虑各组分层有效质量的失配时,外加磁场会导致磁耦合效应的出现.磁耦合效应不仅引起局域电子能级的量子化,并且随着朗道指数或磁场强弱的变化,局域能级及其局域程度都会发生显著移动,特别是对高能区域的局域电子态影响更大.此外,还计算了电子输运系数,讨论了含结构缺陷的三组分超晶格中局域电子能级与输运谱透射禁区中的共振透射峰的关系,发现两者之间有着很好的对应关系,为相应的实验研究提供了依据. 关键词: 超晶格 局域电子态 磁场  相似文献

The resistivity and the Hall coefficient of HgSe: Fe crystals with various iron content are experimentally studied in the temperature range 1.3≤T≤300 K and in magnetic fields up to 60 kOe. The temperature dependences of the density and mobility of conduction electrons in these crystals are determined. The influence of spatial charge ordering in the system of mixed-valence iron ions on impurity states in HgSe: Fe crystals is considered. The density of states in the impurity d band is theoretically analyzed, and inelastic electron scattering in which bi-and trivalent iron ions are recharged is discussed. It is shown that the experimentally detected features in the dependence of the density and mobility of electrons on temperature and iron impurity content can be explained by the influence of Coulomb correlations in the mixed-valence iron ion system on the structure of the impurity d band.

Tunneling between parallel two-dimensional electron gases (2DEG) in accumulation layers formed on both sides of the single doped AlGaAs barrier are examined in both zero and high magnetic field. Accumulation layers are separated from highly n-doped contact regions which freely supply electrons to the 2DEGs via 80 nm thick lightly n-doped spacer layers. Strongly oscillating current with magnetic field along the 2DEGs is absent in this arrangement. Without magnetic field resonant tunneling between 2DEGs with different as grown electron concentration could be settle by application of external voltage bias. High magnetic fields (ν<1) shift resonant tunneling to zero external bias and suppresses tunneling current, creating wide gap in the tunneling density of states at the Fermi level arisen from the in-plane Coulomb interaction in the 2DEGs. The scattering of an electron by a muon in the presence of a linearly polarized laser field is investigated in the first Born approximation. The theoretical results reveal the following: i) At medium and large scattering angles, many multiphoton processes occur during scattering, and these nonlinear phenomena may predict the resonant state of the electron and the muon formed in the collision process. ii) The photoabsorption (inverse bremsstrahlung) dominates the photoemission (bremsstrahlung), causing the cross section to increase. iii) When the laser polarization deviates from the incident direction, the lasermodified total cross section depends considerably on the azimuthal angle of the scattered electron. The dependence of the cross section on the field strength, polarization direction, and electron-impact energy are studied.  相似文献

Spontaneous emission of terahertz radiation from structures with GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells in a longitudinal magnetic field has been studied. It is shown that some bands in the emission spectrum can be related to radiative electron transitions between resonant and localized impurity states, as well as to the transitions with participation of subband states. The temperature dependence of the equilibrium intraband absorption of terahertz radiation and its modulation in a longitudinal electric field in GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells has been investigated.  相似文献

We shall report on the recently observed dependence of the lifetime of the first excited state in 125Te on the ionic charge state. Then we shall give an interpretation of the dependence of the half-life in terms of a new type of nuclear internal conversion without emission of the electron into the continuum of electron energies. We have named this process internal conversion between bound atomic states or BIC. The resonant character of the BIC will be established and the main parameters governing the decay process will be discussed [1–3]. Finally the results of a recent experiment performed at the GANIL accelerator attempting to measure directly the value of the internal conversion coefficient associated with BIC in 125Te ions with charge states ranging between 44+ and 48+ will be given. In conclusion we shall discuss the relation between the BIC and nuclear excitation by electron transition, NEET, in the excitation of some nuclear isomeric states.  相似文献

We report resonant tunneling experiments in a quantum antidot sample in the integer quantum Hall regime. In particular, we have measured the temperature T dependence of the peak value of a conductance peak on the i = 2 plateau, where there are two peaks per magnetic flux quantum straight phi(0). We observe a T-1 dependence as expected when tunneling through only one electron state is possible. This result is incompatible with tunneling through a compressible ring of several degenerate states. We also observe, for the first time, three conductance peaks per straight phi(0) on the i = 3 plateau.  相似文献

The cyclotron resonance of two-dimensional electron systems (2DES) of GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures is investigated in a tilted magnetic field. In this study, the perpendicular (B) and in-plane (B||) magnetic fields are changed systematically. More than two cyclotron resonances caused by B|| are observed. Further, the enhancement of cyclotron mass by B|| and its dependence on B and electron concentration of 2DES are also investigated in detail. These phenomena are well explained by the resonant subband Landau level coupling model.  相似文献

在有效质量近似理论下,采用有效垒高方法,研究了在沿超晶格生长方向加一有限磁场时磁耦合效应对半无限半导体超晶格中表面电子态的影响.当考虑超晶格中阱层和垒层之间电子有效质量的差别时,沿超晶格生长方向的磁场将导致磁耦合效应的出现.研究结果表明,磁耦合效应不仅引起表面电子能级的量子化,而且表面电子能级的大小及其在表面附近的局域程度也依赖于磁场的大小和朗道指数.此外,研究表明布洛赫波数的虚部可以作为一个衡量表面电子态局域程度的物理量. 关键词: 超晶格中的电子态 表面态 磁场  相似文献

We study singularities in the IV characteristics for sequential tunneling from resonant localized levels (e.g. a quantum dot) into a one-dimensional electron system described by a Hubbard model. Boundary conformal field theory together with the exact solution of the Hubbard model subject to boundary fields allow to compute the exponents describing the singularity arising when the energy of the local level is tuned through the Fermi energy of the wire as a function of electron density and magnetic field. For boundary potentials with bound states a sequence of such singularities can be observed.  相似文献

The dispersion of magnetoplasma excitations in two-dimensional electron systems in a strong parallel magnetic field has been studied. A considerable increase in the electron cyclotron mass with an increase in the parallel component of magnetic field has been detected. It has been found that the cyclotron mass increment is a quadratic function of the magnetic field parallel to the interface. It has been shown that the mass anisotropy of 2D electrons induced by the parallel magnetic field reaches nearly 2.5 in B = 7 T. The energy of space quantization of the electron in the quantum well has been estimated from the magnetic field dependence of the anisotropy.  相似文献

The optical absorption coefficient in the region of a wide charge-transfer band in copper oxide CuO (ℏω=3.19 eV) exhibits sharp and anomalously large (up to 8% (!)) changes near two magnetic phase transition temperatures . It is shown that the wide fundamental absorption bands can be used for optical detection of magnetic phase transitions, the parameters of long-and short-range magnetic order, and the effects of a magnetic-impurity state.
