In this paper, we investigate perfect quantum teleportation and dense coding by using an 2N-qubit W state channel. In the quantum teleportation scheme, an unknown N-qubit entangled state can be perfectly teleported. One ebit of entanglement and two bits of classical communication are consumed in the teleportation process, just like when using the Bell state channel. While N+1 bits of classical information can be transmitted by only sending N particles in the dense coding protocol.  相似文献

We introduce a new genuinely 2N qubit state, known as the “mirror state” with interesting entanglement properties. The well known Bell and the cluster states form a special case of these “mirror states”, for N = 1 and N = 2 respectively. It can be experimentally realized using SWAP and multiply controlled phase shift operations. After establishing the general conditions for a state to be useful for various communicational protocols involving quantum and classical information, it is shown that the present state can optimally implement algorithms for the quantum teleportation of an arbitrary N qubit state and achieve quantum information splitting in all possible ways. With regard to superdense coding, one can send 2N classical bits by sending only N qubits and consuming N ebits of entanglement. Explicit comparison of the mirror state with the rearranged N Bell pairs and the linear cluster states is considered for these quantum protocols. We also show that mirror states are more robust than the rearranged Bell pairs with respect to a certain class of collisional decoherence.  相似文献

We define what it means for a state in a convex cone of states on a space of observables to be generalized-entangled relative to a subspace of the observables, in a general ordered linear spaces framework for operational theories. This extends the notion of ordinary entanglement in quantum information theory to a much more general framework. Some important special cases are described, in which the distinguished observables are subspaces of the observables of a quantum system, leading to results like the identification of generalized unentangled states with Lie-group-theoretic coherent states when the special observables form an irreducibly represented Lie algebra. Some open problems, including that of generalizing the semigroup of local operations with classical communication to the convex cones case, are discussed. PACS: 03.65.Ud.  相似文献

Can quantum communication be more efficient than its classical counterpart? Holevo's theorem rules out the possibility of communicating more than n bits of classical information by the transmission of n quantum bits—unless the two parties are entangled, in which case twice as many classical bits can be communicated but no more. In apparent contradiction, there are distributed computational tasks for which quantum communication cannot be simulated efficiently by classical means. In some cases, the effect of transmitting quantum bits cannot be achieved classically short of transmitting an exponentially larger number of bits. In a similar vein, can entanglement be used to save on classical communication? It is well known that entanglement on its own is useless for the transmission of information. Yet, there are distributed tasks that cannot be accomplished at all in a classical world when communication is not allowed, but that become possible if the non-communicating parties share prior entanglement. This leads to the question of how expensive it is, in terms of classical communication, to provide an exact simulation of the spooky power of entanglement.  相似文献

In this paper we present an experiment performed with an atomic beam spin echo interferometer, in which massive intraparticle entanglement is demonstrated. In the longitudinal Stern-Gerlach arrangement the nuclear spin and linear momentum of 3He particles are inextricably linked, such that the overall system state cannot be written as the tensor product of the corresponding Hilbert spaces. The measured data show maximal entanglement between ℋ I and ℋ p . This hybrid system of one quantum and one classical degree of freedom is a textbook example of entanglement between discrete and continuous observables.  相似文献

There are aspects of privacy theory that are analogous to quantum theory. In particular one can define distillable key and key cost in parallel to distillable entanglement and entanglement cost. We present here classical privacy theory as a particular case of information theory with adversaries, where similar general laws hold as in entanglement theory. We place the result of Renner and Wolf—that intrinsic information is lower bound for key cost—into this general formalism. Then we show that the question of whether intrinsic information is equal to key cost is equivalent to the question of whether Alice and Bob can create a distribution product with Eve using IM bits of secret key. We also propose a natural analogue of relative entropy of entanglement in privacy theory and show that it is equal to the intrinsic information. We also provide a formula analogous to the entanglement of formation for classical distributions. 本文提出了量子信令交换机的模型, 该交换机由经典信息控制模块、交换控制模块和量子交换模块三部分组成. 经典控制模块负责将纠缠初态信息传送给纠缠测量及交换单元并更新路由信息. 交换控制模块实现通路选择, 为纠缠对的分发提供通路. 量子交换模块制备纠缠对, 进行Bell态的测量, 完成纠缠交换. 量子信令交换机可以实现多用户间的信令传输及局域网通信. 通过对交换机的性能分析与仿真, 结果表明该交换机结构简单、安全保密、便于扩展、时延小, 对于构建量子通信网有很好的支撑作用. 关键词: 量子通信 量子信令网 量子信令交换机 纠缠交换  相似文献

Based on the monogamy of entanglement, we develop the technique of quantum conditioning to build an additive entanglement measure: the conditional entanglement of mutual information. Its operational meaning is elaborated to be the minimal net "flow of qubits" in the process of partial state merging. Based on the Born-Oppenhemer approximation, the concept of adiabatic quantum entanglement is introduced to account for quantum decoherence of a quantum system due to its interaction with a large system of one or a few degrees of freedom. In the adiabatic limit, it is shown that the wave function of the total system formed by the quantum system plus the large system can be factorized as an entangled state with correlation between adiabatic quantum states and quasi-classical motion configurations of the large system. In association with a novel viewpoint about quantum measurement, which has been directly verified by most recent experiments [e.g., S. Durr et al., Nature 33, 359 (1998)], it is shown that the adiabatic entanglement is indeed responsible for the quantum decoherence and thus can be regarded as a “clean” quantum measurement when the large system behaves as a classical object. By taking the large system respectively to be a macroscopically distinguishable spatial variable, a high spin system and a harmonic oscillator with a coherent initial state, three illustrations are presented with their explicit solutions in this paper. In this paper, we show that some special mixed quantum resource experience the same property of pure entanglement such as Bell state for quantum teleportation. It is shown that one mixed state and three bits of classical communication cost can be used to teleport one unknown qubit compared with two bits via pure resources. The schemes are easily implement with model physical techniques. Moreover, these resources are also optimal and typical for faithfully remotely prepare an arbitrary qubit, two-qubit and three-qubit states with mixed quantum resources. Our schemes are completed as same as those with pure quantum entanglement resources except only 1 bit additional classical communication cost required. The success probability is independent of the form of the mixed resources.  相似文献

The research of multi-particle entanglement is a hot topic because of its important applications and far-reaching effects on vast aspects of quantum information. The article is devoted to the χ − type entangled state, a peculiar four-particle entangled state, which is different from a four-particle GHZ or W state under stochastic local operations and classical communication (SLOCC). Secure four-site distribution using decoy particles is proposed. Moreover, applying it, several communication protocols are presented, including four-party hierarchical quantum secret sharing, supervisory three-party asymmetric deterministic secure quantum communication, etc. The security of the four-site distribution and the communication protocols are also analyzed.  相似文献

A classical one-time pad allows two parties to send private messages over a public classical channel-an eavesdropper who intercepts the communication learns nothing about the message. A quantum one-time pad is a shared quantum state which allows two parties to send private messages or private quantum states over a public quantum channel. If the eavesdropper intercepts the quantum communication she learns nothing about the message. In the classical case, a one-time pad can be created using shared and partially private correlations. Here we consider the quantum case in the presence of an eavesdropper, and find the single-letter formula for the rate at which the two parties can send messages using a general quantum state as a quantum one-time pad. Surprisingly, the formula coincides with the distillable entanglement assisted by a symmetric channel, an important quantity in quantum information theory, but which lacked a clear operational meaning.  相似文献

We investigate the possibility of transforming, under local operations and classical communication, a general bipartite quantum state on a dA x dB tensor-product space into a final state in 2 x 2 dimensions, while maintaining as much entanglement as possible. For pure states, we prove that Nielsens theorem provides the optimal protocol, and we present quantitative results on the degree of entanglement before and after the dimensional reduction. For mixed states, we identify a protocol that we argue is optimal for isotropic and Werner states. In the literature, it has been conjectured that some Werner states are bound entangled and in support of this conjecture our protocol gives final states without entanglement for this class of states. For all other entangled Werner states and for all entangled isotropic states some degree of free entanglement is maintained. We propose a practical entanglement concentration protocol(ECP) for a hybrid entangled state using quantum dots and a microcavity coupled system.A hybrid less-entangled state can be concentrated to a most-entangled state with a certain probability using only one ancillary single photon.Moreover,using this protocol,we can also concentrate an arbitrary three-particle less-entangled W state using two ancillary photons and classical communication.The proposed protocols provide us with a useful method to concentrate less-entangled states,which can be implemented with current technology.  相似文献

运用负值量子条件熵研究了双量子系统一类混合态的纠缠量度.给出了负值量子条件作为条件熵纠缠度的定义,证明了条件熵纠缠满足作为2×2系统一类混合纠缠态量度的四个基本条件.当双量子系统处于纯态时,条件熵纠缠度即为部分熵纠缠度.应用条件熵纠缠度研究了真空腔场中两全同二能级原子之间纯态和一类混合态纠缠的时间演化,比较了相同条件下两全同原子系统concurrence纠缠度的时间演化.结果表明,两纠缠度演化规律完全一致,验证了负值量子条件熵可以作为双量子系统纯态和一类混合态的纠缠量度. 关键词: 双量子系统 负值量子条件熵 条件熵纠缠度 混合态纠缠度  相似文献

We derive explicit expressions for quantum discord and classical correlation for an X structure density matrix. Based on the characteristics of the expressions, the quantum discord and the classical correlation are easily obtained and compared under different initial conditions using a novel analytical method. We explain the relationships among quantum discord, classical correlation, and entanglement, and further find that the quantum discord is not always larger than the entanglement measured by concurrence in a general two-qubit X state. The new method, which is different from previous approaches, has certain guiding significance for analysing quantum discord and classical correlation of a two-qubit X state, such as a mixed state.  相似文献

High-dimensional Bell state analysis (HDBSA) has great application potential in the high-capacity quantum communication and quantum information processing. In this paper, we propose a scheme to completely distinguish the 2N-dimensional Bell states of a hybrid system with the help of the nonlinear interaction between the Λ-type atoms and a photon system. We use the unit-probability quantum teleportation with non-maximum entanglement as an example to show the application of HDBSA. Finally, we discuss its possible realization with current experimental techniques. Our HDBSA protocol may pave a new way for high-capacity long-distance quantum communication.

A novel efficient deterministic secure quantum communication scheme based on four-qubit cluster states and single-photon identity authentication is proposed. In this scheme, the two authenticated users can transmit two bits of classical information per cluster state, and its efficiency of the quantum communication is 1/3, which is approximately 1.67 times that of the previous protocol presented by Wang et al [Chin. Phys. Lett. 23 (2006) 2658]. Security analysis shows the present scheme is secure against intercept-resend attack and the impersonator's attack. Furthermore, it is more economic with present-day techniques and easily processed by a one-way quantum computer.  相似文献

How correlated are two quantum systems from the perspective of a third? We answer this by providing an optimal "quantum state redistribution" protocol for multipartite product sources. Specifically, given an arbitrary quantum state of three systems, where Alice holds two and Bob holds one, we identify the cost, in terms of quantum communication and entanglement, for Alice to give one of her parts to Bob. The communication cost gives the first known operational interpretation to quantum conditional mutual information. The optimal procedure is self-dual under time reversal and is perfectly composable. This generalizes known protocols such as the state merging and fully quantum Slepian-Wolf protocols, from which almost every known protocol in quantum Shannon theory can be derived.  相似文献

The transverse Ising Model (TIM) in one dimension is the simplest model which exhibits a quantum phase transition (QPT). Quantities related to quantum information theoretic measures like entanglement, quantum discord (QD) and fidelity are known to provide signatures of QPTs. The issue is less well explored when the quantum system is subjected to decoherence due to its interaction, represented by a quantum channel, with an environment. In this paper we study the dynamics of the mutual information I(ρ AB ), the classical correlations C(ρ AB ) and the quantum correlations Q(ρ AB ), as measured by the QD, in a two-qubit state the density matrix of which is the reduced density matrix obtained from the ground state of the TIM in 1d. The time evolution brought about by system-environment interactions is assumed to be Markovian in nature and the quantum channels considered are amplitude damping, bit-flip, phase-flip and bit-phase-flip. Each quantum channel is shown to be distinguished by a specific type of dynamics. In the case of the phase-flip channel, there is a finite time interval in which the quantum correlations are larger in magnitude than the classical correlations. For this channel as well as the bit-phase-flip channel, appropriate quantities associated with the dynamics of the correlations can be derived which signal the occurrence of a QPT.  相似文献
