We establish a priori bounds for positive solutions of semilinear elliptic systems of the form

In this paper, we study a two-dimensional nonlinear elliptic equation:
where V (x) is radial, V (x) behaves like near zero and the nonlinearity f is asymptotically linear at infinity. We show the existence of a nontrivial radial solution of (1.1) via the variational approach. We show that, under so called controllable growth conditions, any weak solution in the energy class of the semilinear parabolic system
is locally regular. Here, A is an elliptic matrix differential operator of order 2m. The result is proved by writing the system as a system with linear growth in u,... , ∇ m u but with “bad” coefficients and by means of a continuity method, where the time serves as parameter of continuity. We also give a partial generalization of previous work of the second author and von Wahl to Navier boundary conditions. The derivatives of the Cauchy kernels on compact Riemann surfaces generate singular integral operators analogous to the Calderón-Zigmund operators with the kernel (t - z)2 on the complex plane. These operators play an important role in studying elliptic differential equations, boundary value problems, etc. We consider here the most important case of the multi-valued Cauchy kernel with real normalization of periods. In the opposite plane case, such an operator is not unitary. Nevertheless, its norm in L2 is equal to one. This result is used to study multi-valued solutions of elliptic differential systems.  相似文献

Let (M, g) be a smooth compact Riemannian n-manifold, n ≥ 3. Let also p ≥ 1 be an integer, and be the vector space of symmetrical p × p real matrix. We consider critical elliptic systems of equations which we write in condensed form as
where , is a p-map, is the Laplace–Beltrami operator acting on p-maps, and 2* is the critical Sobolev exponent. We fully answer the question of getting sharp asymptotics for local minimal type solutions of such systems. As an application, we prove compactness of minimal type solutions and prove that the result is sharp by constructing explicit examples where blow-up occurs when the compactness assumptions are not fulfilled.  相似文献

In this paper for the finite elementmethod for systems of degenerate elliptic equations we develop high-accuracy schemes based on multiplicative singularity extraction. In this paper, we are concerned with the effect of the domain topology on the multiplicity of solutions for some semilinear elliptic systems involving critical Sobolev exponent. We show that if the interaction term is sufficiently small, then the number of solutions of the system is estimated from below by 2 catΩ. The proof of this fact requires analysis of the structure of the Nehari manifold associated with the system. In semilinear elliptic equations, we prove that the necessary and sufficient condition for the comparison theorem of positive solutions to be valid is that the nonlinear term is sublinear. Our theorem needs neither any regularity of the nonlinear term nor the smoothness of the boundary. Applying this theorem, we prove the uniqueness of positive solutions for the Dirichlet problem. Given the family of Laguerre polynomials, it is known that several orthonormal systems of Laguerre functions can be considered. In this paper we prove that an exhaustive knowledge of the boundedness in weighted L p of the heat and Poisson semigroups, Riesz transforms and g-functions associated to a particular Laguerre orthonormal system of functions, implies a complete knowledge of the boundedness of the corresponding operators on the other Laguerre orthonormal system of functions. As a byproduct, new weighted L p boundedness are obtained. The method also allows us to get new weighted estimates for operators related with Laguerre polynomials. In [8], Quattrochi and Rinaldi introduced the idea ofn −1-isomorphism between Steiner systems. In this paper we study this concept in the context of Steiner triple systems. The main result is that for any positive integerN, there existsv 0(N) such that for all admissiblevv 0(N) and for each STS(v) (sayS), there exists an STS(v) (sayS′) such that for somen>N, S is strictlyn −1-isomorphic toS′. We also prove that for all admissiblev≥13, there exist two STS(v)s which are strictly 2−1-isomorphic. Define the distance between two Steiner triple systemsS andS′ of the same order to be the minimum volume of a tradeT which transformsS into a system isomorphic toS′. We determine the distance between any two Steiner triple systems of order 15 and, further, give a complete classification of strictly 2−1-isomorphic and 3−1-isomorphic pairs of STS(15)s.  相似文献

We consider the Helmholtz equation with a variable index of refraction n(x), which is not necessarily constant at infinity but can have an angular dependency like as . Under some appropriate assumptions on this convergence and on n we prove that the Sommerfeld condition at infinity still holds true under the explicit form
It is a very striking and unexpected feature that the index n appears in this formula and not the gradient of the phase as established by Saito in [S] and broadly used numerically. This apparent contradiction is clarified by the existence of some extra estimates on the energy decay. In particular we prove that
In fact our main contribution is to show that this can be interpreted as a concentration of the energy along the critical lines of n . In other words, the Sommerfeld condition hides the main physical effect arising for a variable n at infinity; energy concentration on lines rather than dispersion in all directions. In this paper, we study existence of nontrivial solutions to the elliptic equation
and to the elliptic system
where Ω is a bounded domain in with smooth boundary ∂Ω, , f (x, 0) = 0, with m ≥ 2 and . Nontrivial solutions are obtained in the case in which the nonlinearities have linear growth. That is, for some c > 0, for and , and for and , where I m is the m × m identity matrix. In sharp contrast to the existing results in the literature, we do not make any assumptions at infinity on the asymptotic behaviors of the nonlinearity f and . Z.
